I love this Gym Skills location, but Im concerned about one of the Crump family members, Kenny Crumps (owner of Gym Skills) younger brother Marquis Crump, being arrested in Gahanna on 9-10-21, as this is a family business. First degree Attempted menacing and fourth degree Domestic Violence, relating to what appears to be his childs or childrens mother, is not a joke or kid friendly. These are very serious alleged crimes. The owner of this gym appears to own the property where the arrest took place as well. I am hoping that Marquis does not work at Gym Skills!!! I am also hoping that he is never on the Gym Skills premises around minors with such charges!!! This gym is really decent though. I love the emphasis on kids and self-esteem. I will continue to support as long as my kids will definitely be safe. This is all very concerning.

Small class sizes for all levels. My girls went for their first tumbling lesson after being inactive for almost 2 years, and their instructor was great at getting them acclimated. Im so happy we went with Gym Skills!

I have two kids that go here and honestly I am amazed by this place! They have so much fun and also learn new skills. They get to use so many tools and such that they wouldn’t normally get to at a dance studio or regular gym. The coaches are so good my kids love seeing them. They are patient and take it very seriously. Keep doing what you guys are doing!

I regret supporting this business do to it being a black-owned. I read amazing things about this black-owned business [owned and operated by the Crump family] but it left a terrible taste in my kids and families mouth. The staff is rude and elitist and the facility needs more cleanings. This place needs a better bedside manner, starting with sanitation and kindness and basic levels of respct. You win some you lose some you try to support your people and sometimes it backfires. Big lesson learned.added- PISS POOR Covid protocols. The Delta Variant is making kids sick and some are even dying throughout the country and COUNTY. No masks in sight at this faciliity. This facility is a petri dish for Covid and a super spreader event on many occasions (daily).

Great place before COVID, they clearly don’t take it seriously. When I voiced a valid concern about my child’s safety and COVID to management, it was met with extreme defensiveness and excuses. They place signs saying masks required for athletes, but don’t actually enforce it. They have signs for social distancing, but promptly huddled up 15 kids shoulder to shoulder for 2-3 minutes as soon as they entered gym. I was told by management that, “They aren’t there that long...” as if that makes any difference.Instead of addressing my concern of athletes being too huddled together without masks, the manager complained that I didn’t approach her saying Good Afternoon 1st.....To top it off, the instructors “sanitize” the equipment during rotations with a quick swipe across half the bars, even my 8 year old noticed and commented on the unsanitary methods. She was also able to keep a mask on throughout the entire class with no issues, even though the manager INSISTED that masks CAN’T be worn during practice because the masks will cover the athletes eyes and effect their vision.... my daughter does entire Acrobatic classes with a mask, no issues. Excuses that were given were so off base and invalid it’s insane. No management or communication skills were shown today. As much as my daughter loves this place, we sadly won’t be back until COVID isn’t a threat because her safety is NOT a priority to Gym Skills.

I called and asked for my daughters to come in for a free trial class and they refused to allow them to come in unless I paid for the classes. I have never seen this done before. They should allow children to come in for one free class before deciding on whether or not they will attend. Not a good way to attract customers, so I will not be sending my girls there. I will be taking them to a place that is more friendly and accommodating.

The thought of having my toddler enrolled to burn off some energy was great at first. Overall it was to be $15 per class. Two weeks after signing up the facility changed the rules and I did not agree with the changes. I elected to pull my child and was told that I would be charged for an additional 2 months. It ended up being $50 per class.Look elsewhere. This place is a scam.

I called and left a message and filled out an online form for someone to contact me about my son completing a trial class. I never received a call back or an email response. This was everything I needed to know. If the communication is this awful before signing up, I can’t imagine the headache later. We found another gymnastics facility that he loved and got in the same day I left them a message.

My niece was only going to be in town for two weeks. Tysha was very helpful with the scheduling of her classes. I had several questions and someone took a message for Tysha. Tysha called me back the same day and answered all of my questions thoroughly. It was such a pleasure to work with her.

New equipment and attentive staff. There is a concession counter inside with Gatorade, bottled water, and some smoothie offerings. Sundays are reservation only for parties, and most operating hours are set aside for classes. Call ahead for open gym times.
