Wow, what an amazingly beautiful church!! We visited the sanctuary only, but that alone was worth the time! Absolutely breathtaking! This church wasnt officially open today, but since were in town on the last day of vacation I called and Carol let us in for a quick look. She was super friendly and helpful!

I have visited the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral several times over the years; most often to attend the annual Greek Festival with its great variety of music, dancing, and food.If you are not familiar with traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church, I recommend taking the cathedral tour at some point during the Greek Festival. One nice thing about the Greek Festival is that you pay your admission fee once and then you are permitted to attend the festival for the rest of the weekend.

Beautiful example of my expectations of a Greek Cathedral! Bright, airy, colorful and conducive to spending time in deep meditation and prayer! The Greek Festival was a refreshing breath of celebration and comradery much needed in this prolonged period of isolation due to the pandemic.

The Greek Festival on Labor Day Weekend was a great experience for me and my family. The food was incredible (especially the Pasticcio and Moussaka). We enjoyed the live music and dancers, and my children enjoyed dancing themselves. We were there at 1:30 on Monday (apparently a peak time), and it was extremely busy, so we did have to wait for a long time to buy our food. The cathedral was beautiful, and there was an interesting historical presentation. The only drawback was that there wasnt much for children to do. My kids were impatient to leave and visit Goodale Park across the street.

I went for the Greek festival and had a fabulous time. I bought lots of things in the Greek deli and lots of wonderful food and desserts to take home to everybody.

Every Labor day weekend, the community of this Greek Orthodox church hosts a 4-day Greek Festival. Delicious home made Greek food and desserts are available everywhere, along with live traditional music and dancing. Three bars give a festive atmosphere, and art, jewelry and cooking displays round out the program. Dont miss Marias bakery inside for amazing sweets. Take a box home for breakfast too!

A beautiful building. Very Greek... Very ethnic. As in, if youre not Greek why are you here. New calendar. It feels rather sterile in the worship service, like they are going through the motions and looking at their watches. The words are right, but its a chore to get through the service, rather than the heaven on earth that liturgy can be. Very formal, fashion conscious, upper class Greek culture first. Beautiful building, though.

The Greek Orthodox Church* most beautiful sight to see in Columbus. There is a wonderful Greekfest going on this weekend. Went to there as a child, I can remember every fine detail. Unforgettable. The inside main area, the church is super big, so much that it made me dizzy. Besides, thats where my familys time capsule is located. My grandfather, who is now passed, he helped built this gorgeous place. I look forward every year to going, sadly, I may not be able to afford it. I love this place so much! Its worth to experience it.

A beautiful building located scenically next to the depressed highway. The building grounds themselves are lovely, and the architecture truly adds to the area.

We arrived as guests seeking to worship with my family. Our son, his wife & child recently moved to Columbus to work at a nearby hospital as a physician. I personally, the mother & grandmother of this family want to tell you how much I enjoyed the service in your parish. I listened closely to the Chantors up front who chanted the Byzantine music beautifully. I heard every word & their voices were absolutely beautiful to hear, everyone of them. Thank you. I however did not understand every word being chanted from the choir upstairs nor recognized the beautiful hymns I am accustomed to hearing. I, nor my family are of Greek descent. We are Greek Orthodox for 30 years now. I understand much of the service in Greek. My soul longs to hear the hymns that I heard the very first time I came to a Greek Orthodox Church. For me I’ve never heard anything like it in the world. The peace, the joy & the beauty of hearing Byzantine chanting, I can only say I hope & pray to always hear in our parishes wherever I go. The Greek language is truly God’s gift to us & so is the music. I feel such joy when I hear the entire church participate in chanting our hymns. It however is not possible to do so with what I was hearing from the choir at this parish. Please forgive me if I sound ignorant or have offended anyone. Your voices are truly beautiful & so are the hymns given to us. Not only the hymns but the way we chant them. It is our way of talking with the Saints & Our most beloved Lord Jesus Christ. I understand that in other church’s such as the Russian Church for example it is chanted differently & I attend services there as well but often, I ache to go home to the Greek Church to hear the hymns. I am from another state. My sons were both Altar boys until they were in their 20’s & I have a grandson who is quite young right now but whom I would love to see serving the Altar as well. My children were all members of Goya, attended school at the church, Boy Scouts, basketball & to this day have some wonderful friends. As a single parent I refused not to be welcomed by everyone possible at the Parish I first came to. It was at first difficult but I fell in love with our faith & the church & I have never stopped being in love. I do not remember the name of the Father who gave the sermon this Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 but I do know that what I heard was sent to us by God. There is so much information that I picked up to read & so many Philantropic activities in your Parish that I can only describe as beautiful, wonderful & God’s work. I cannot wait to return to your Parish when my new Grandchild arrives, God willing. I pray my son & his family make Annunciation their home & that they feel they are welcomed with all the love I was welcomed with when I first arrived at mine. Lenten season is right around the corner for us:), our time to reflect & ask forgiveness of our sins & transgressions & we will soon be chanting Christos Anesti! May Our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ continue to Bless your Beautiful Parish with the intercessions of our Most Loved Panagia.
