(Update) Your reply to my review was to contact you via phone or email. I chose to email you because the phone system obviously is not good for you. And your response was to call. For someone who is trying to get help for depression and anxiety, I received no help from your facility. Your employees did just enough to get funding and then blew me off! You dont care about helping people. You just want the money!!! Do you know how that effects someone who is already dealing with depression and anxiety? It makes the issues even worse! Like I wasnt even worthy of help from the people who are supposed to be there to help! So why should I continue with life?

I initially was skeptical about this place because a few friends of mine werent treated well here. I had taken an assessment and the woman I talked to at first gave me some hope. She had told me that I would be able to have female doctors due to past trauma and she would make sure to put this on my records. She also told me I shouldnt have any trouble being prescribed the medication I used to have when I was younger.I had a hard time getting my insurance info to the office. They would call me while I was at work and when I told them I need to be called back at a specific time, they wouldnt call me. They wouldnt answer their phone either. The first phone call, the receptionist wouldnt tell me where they were from and immediately asked for my SS number. Which prompted me to hang up because I didnt feel comfortable giving that info over the phone for a person who wouldnt clearly tell me where they were from. When I finally got to my appointment, I was talking to the nurse and she told me that I would be having a male doctor. He dismissed me and was more worried about my high blood pressure. Which was being taken at the moment I was told I was having a male doctor AND the machine had to be adjusted multiple times. He made it sound like he didnt believe my diagnosis and told me Well I cant prescribe you your medication you have had in the past because most children grow out of having ADHD when they become adults. He asked me if I had nightmares or flashbacks, to which I told him that I did have them, he said I dont appear to have any troubles with my PTSD. I felt like I was being judged and treated like a drug addict just because I asked to be prescribed a medication I was prescribed when I was in high school because it actually helped me, I just couldnt afford it because I lost my insurance when I went to college. This place lied to me and made me feel ashamed of asking for help. I wouldnt recommend it.

I called the national crisis hotline and they forwarded me here. Burrell did my intake process over the phone, and said that my insurance would cover all costs & the cost of a therapist.I went in to the appointment three times without issue. The fourth time, the receptionist said she couldnt run my insurance. Several weeks later, I received a bill for $200 for the intake process. My therapist also said that, due to my insurance, I would be scheduled with a different therapist in a few weeks. I contacted him once to follow-up, he said hed let me know once he found out more. I havent heard from him since.Additionally - the scheduling is bad. Sometimes my therapist would be available one day one week, but not at any time that day next week; sometimes he wouldnt have any available time at all, so Id go a week without seeing him.

I went here 6 months ago for up to a year. I had a really bad mental health crisis and my therapist Natalie wouldnt send me inpatient and also told me a year later she wasnt qualified to handle my diagnosis. Also they only care about money. its crazy how i was harming myself and in and out of psychosis but they thought their companies php program would benefit me even though i was a danger to myself at home. i know i wasnt perfect the whole time but that legitimately comes with my diagnosis. doctor scott was cool though but yeah specifically natalie and her supervisor, maybe tell your patients you arent specialized in BPD

This place is HORRIBLE!!!! Do NOT come here especially if you are dealing with depression. I finally decided that I needed to go see a counselor, Burrell Health got recommended to me. My first visit I sat in the waiting area for an hour just for them to tell me someone will call me to do my assessment. I got booked for my counseling appt Jan. 12 (reminder I did my assessment in early November. I understand things are busy but waiting 2 months to see a counselor while i’m deep depression is NOT okay. I also started seeing a psychiatrist through them, he wasn’t very helpful besides from the medicine he put me on kind of helping. I have no been in contact with him since November when he changed my medicine. Today was finally my first counseling appt after dealing with this depression alone for two months. They told me that it had been cancelled cause the therapist “wasn’t in the office today”. So basically here I am crying my eyes out walking out because my appt got cancelled. The commutation with this place sucks so much, and not only that but the people who work here aren’t very friendly especially knowing they’re working with people who are dealing with mental health problems. I do not recommend you coming to Burrell Health at all!!!! Go somewhere else please!!!! Go get the help you deserve and need from people who actually care!!

Crisis line hung up on me when I was in crisis. Crisis line hung up on my sister when she was in crisis. They will NOT help you, please find help elsewhere.Billing bills you for random items and doesnt specify what for. They are out of Springfield, no one knows whats going on.Appointments are constantly rescheduled without you knowing.Pyschiatrist and therapy providors are good but dont outweigh the cons of the business.

At first it was a really good experience but it became really hard to communicate with my providers, I would call the main line and it would ring and ring and then go to voicemail, not just once but every time.

I went to their pharmacy because it is in-network with my insurance. They were a little hard to find due to signage but the service was excellent. The staff were great and responded quickly with my request for a transfer and refill. Since it was close to 5 pm, I didnt expect them to be so quick and friendly. They took the time to tell me about all the conveniences they provide; delivery and mail. It was nice to run into friendly faces especially after a long day at work!

Communication is the worst. Don’t answer phones or give care providers voicemail messages. No way to directly contact home care therapists, so you have to go through the “answering service” which is just one overworked fella named Nate who can’t keep up with all the providers.Consistency and reliability are issues. First therapist disappeared after canceling 3 of 4 appointments.Nice people but a mess.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This place is literally the biggest joke when it comes to taking care of your mental health. I went to them over a month ago to get an evaluation and start therapy for anxiety and depression. After changing appointments multiple times in the office, they then called me multiple other times to reschedule appointments because their providers didn’t take my insurance or they scheduled me on the same time as somebody else. After explaining my long-term depression and addictions the evaluator said that it was all normal and a part of the stage of my life I was in. They also made me wait over two hours to be seen. It seemed as if they had no consideration as to why I had let me walls down to seek help. It disgusts me how Burrell Behavioral Health treats the people that come to them for help.

The customer service across the board is horrific. They only see your child as a number and not as a person. If you get in and out in less than 3 hours you are doing well. The receptionist are annoyed with dealing with you. The new nurses do not care that your child is on a medicine that you cant skip even though you have been trying to get a refill for 2 weeks. They are rude. This place is horrible and does not give two craps about your child. I am filing a complaint with the state and the BBB.The one light they have is nurse Lisa. She is ALWAYS kind and accommodating unlike ANYONE else including the manager. I have never felt like such trash and garbage in my life. They lie to cover up their mistakes. Do NOT go here unless you want to be treated like crap.

Staff is awfully rude relative to area comparables-competitors. Note that there are two of the same company in Columbia. One is on Berrywood, the other East Walnut (Adult: Stephens Lake). The Berrywood location isnt as seemingly bad at first -but rudeness & glass windows papered over with out of date events schedule (mainly a privacy screen for reception area staff) is first present. No followup on my sons issues; not even a good luck. The adult center is more complicated. But the ad hoc privacy screen, incredibly small waiting area would appall most persons seeking psychiatric services, best explaining a policy of a case manager (actually CSS Community Service Specialists) who come to your door first. One (1) missed appointment is cause for services denial!Progressively worse experiences for those with more involvement as I understand it. I added A Star for Regional relativity of pretty bad comps. I will note that a competitor New Horizons has a small waiting area but the stale paper over reception glass isnt there. Somehow a better 1st impression. Im reliably knowledgeable of different deficiencies in mental health care/maintenance at NH (weak outpatient support being one).I *openly question any 5 star review* of any service provided by Burrell & was surprised to see a couple here—-one being utterly false of the either center. The Berrywood teen center is also a mini pharmacy building and admin staff area, so it at first seems normal, but certainly not 5 star outstanding services nor environment. An adult comparable would be new horizons (unfortunately also a 2star) or University physicians clinic main outpatient for both adult & teen services.(3star at least). Good that neither of these mental health services have waiting areas that smell varying degrees of bad stench(es).AGAIN, the 5 star reviews are false witness even for those unfamiliar with services in other counties or regions.

Receptionists are usually rude. They called and told me Id have to fill out some paperwork or theyd cancel my appointment, but they only called 2 days before the work had to be done when theyd known about it months in advance. The place itself is rather dirty and the wait times are horrible even though there arent that many patients there and the psychiatrists arent with a patient either, but still make you wait.
