Ive been going here for about 5 years now. Its good training with some very awesome folks.
Seidokan Aikido is one of the most relaxed dojos I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The head sensei cares visibly, the other students are happy to help, and everyone acts like one big family.
Friendly people, with a good focus on personal safety. Great atmosphere for learning.
The Seidokan Aikido of South Carolina dojo has some of the most patient, kind, and dedicated people Ive known. The instructors are willing to work with people of varying degrees of martial art backgrounds- from well experienced individuals to the most uncoordinated greenhorns around (that would be me!). The classes are both fun and engaging, giving an atmosphere that invites striving for improvement while not stressing you out over being brand new.The head instructor, Doug Wedell, is a fantastic individual who treats everyone with respect. Hes an excellent teacher who is great at breaking down techniques and helps to emphasize not only the physical aspects of Aikido but the philosophical side as well. His skills and expanse of knowledge are admirable and I would recommend no other. Our Aikido dojo is full of friendly people who are a pleasure to train with and be around. We hold socials every now and then, too!Overall, I highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a great place to train and wonderful people to be around.
This is an EXCELLENT dojo - even though I came in as a complete newbie and was unable to attend regularly, I felt like I learned a great deal at every lesson. Doug, the Sensei, is very patient and welcoming to every student, and he and the other students really encourage you to be the best you possibly can be. I definitely recommend this dojo to anyone who wants to learn aikido.
Wonderful place to learn aikido
