We took the kids to see Blippy. They loved it! Consesions are a little pricey but I would say descent for a venue. The acoustics were fabulous, even from the second balcony. There was plenty of room although Im sure thats not always the case. The upstairs bathroom has no diaper changing station which was a bummer cause its a descent walk to the lobby if you dont want to wait in line for the one elevator which for covid safety reason had a capacity of two unless everyone was in the same household. (Noone enforced this though) and masks are always recommended but also werent a requirement. They also enforce a clear bag policy. c:
Had a real nice night here watching the Beach Boys. Staff were helpful and bathrooms were clean.
The township staff was very great, helping us find our assigned seats.
Went to see the Isley Brothers Concert last night (Columbia, SC) awesome venue. Its been a few yrs since I last attended an event here but they have really stepped up their game. It looks like they may have done some remodeling and theyve added more vendors and a variety of concessions (decent food choices besides nachos and popcorn).
I attended a Isley Brother Concert there. The acoustic where Great, it was a Really Nice Show. They served Beer, Cocktail and Wine. The Bathrooms where Clean. I Nice Spot for a Concert 👍🏾d.c.j.
Ive been going to this place for years for concerts and shows.Maybe it is nostalgia but I love this place takes me back but not only that is built right its got good bones. There are some really good shows here and it doesnt usually cost a lot some good concerts so good Christian concerts that we just went to and we actually won tickets so that was A bonus.I like the feel of this place it takes me way back to Times before my time if that makes its very comfortable here.
Place was remodeled, they could make the sits a lot more spacious and comfortable. Some tickets are so expensive I miss out on some
Only problem is small seats. Good viewing, however, all around.
Great customers service and fast.
Great vuenu
Attended the Toni Braxton and SWV concert for the price of the ticket the entertainment was on point. It lasted for almost three hours . SWV shirts were on sale $10.00. Seats upfront, was a very enjoyable night. At the Township Auditorium was a first, half the size of the Savannah Civic Center, the setting was just right. No complaints!
Nice place to catch a show. Easy to find. Depending on the show you have to pay for parking I guess (10) which wasnt high but one of those things you should be told. Refreshments were a little high but that might also depend on the show. Over all is was a good experience. Darnell, Michelle, and Dave Chappelle were great.
Beautiful auditorium!
They should answer their phones
Staff or volunteers were very helpful in getting you to your seats. We were there for the Jerry Seinfeld show and Mario Joyner exceeded everything we expected. Parking was well-organized as well.
Such a beautiful concert ruined by what can only be described as day laborers as employees. It was clear from the start these folks knew nothing about the facilities, where the bathrooms were, how to get around in a wheelchair, etc. We made the mistake of buying coffee since it was cold out that night and we were all forced to stand outside as opposed to inside to wait for the concert. For 4 bucks you got cold, bitter and burnt tasting coffee served to you by an employee who treated you as if you were putting them out. As a wheelchair bound person the treatment I received was rude, thoughtless and not a single employee could have cared less that the bathrooms on the night of the concert were wheelchair inaccessible. Me and my wife both were treated rudely as were many others on that night. While I was lightly patted down in my wheelchair, my wife was forced to remove her shoes and coat and then treated to the airport pat down sort of treatment; most everyone else received this same treatment as well. When asked why this was necessary we were yelled at by several supposed employees that women have a better hiding place for bombs! The doors to the hall were supposed to be opened up at 6 and were not until right at 7 so everyone was rushed in and thoughtlessly told to go find our seats and dont make a scene people . More than once we and a few others were told that they as an employee did not get paid to deal with handicapped people and that we should just simply stay at home where we would be less of a bother. On the night of this concert once we were in our seats we were told if we got up we would lose our seats! Once the concert go going quite a few folks within our earshot were told to pipe down or the local cops would be called out to quiet the scene. We are at a concert and not some sort of rally now mind you so most of us were confused by many of the actions of the supposed employees that night. Buyer beware you are buying an experience that you do not want!
I liked the venue and the sound was fantastic. The seats however were horribly small. I do have a rear, but my normal rearedfriends I was with were even uncomfortable. And zero leg room. Extremely cramped. The staff who was there all did a great job!
Ive come here for the past 2 years for revolution and the auditorium is and accessible walk from all of the hotels and restaurants you want . its big and there are lots of nice people . a lot of monuments around it . very safe and has a good team !
Saw an awesome Diana Ross concert last night. Concert was great, Ushers were terrible!! Arrived at about 6:45 and found our seats with little assistance. The issue was from then until a little after 8 pm, concert started at 7:30, ticket holders from different sections were being sent up to our section. My sister and I and the couple in front of us where checking peoples tickets to direct them where to go to find their seats. Very distracting!! Paying $125 for a ticket my expectation is that the ushers working in the venue know where to direct attendees. First time attending an event at Township and staff was extremely disorganized!!
Went to the Modest Mouse concert here a couple months ago and had a great time. The stage felt cozy and intimate. I really felt like it was a closer setting than you would get at Colonial Life Arena on the floor. The staff is friendly and concession typical. They do offer beer and the like. Would love to come back for another concert.
Two weeks ago saw Off the wall onto the stage. Absolutely enjoyed the performance bringing the art of Jonathon Green to life. It was soulful and well thought out. Appreciate the attention to detail with costumes. First time there. You have my attention!
I love this place for a show! Good acoustics and great seats. Keep the music coming.
Our experience at the Township was fantastic. We got there an hour early and had zero problems with traffic and parking. We were able to park a block away, grab a bite at the Mediterranean restaurant across the road, and get to our seats in plenty of time. We paid $5 to park, but the guys stayed with the vehicles the whole show and I like that. The ticket scanners, searchers, ushers, and beverage stand worker with whom we interacted were friendly and easy, a pleasure even, to deal with. The acoustics were very clear, even if a little loud (but complaining about the volume makes me feel really old!). It was pretty hot, but not unbearable, in the balcony once the show got going. AND THE VAPING. I coughed the entire next day. My overall experience was fantastic, but not perfect. We will definitely go back again if the Township will bring in some more alternative/indie acts. I just hope the vaping issue is dealt with most of all. The ones doing it aren’t that sneaky about it, so it should be an easy issue for ushers to deal with.
An amazing historic Auditorium and theatrical performance venue in the heart of Downtown Columbia. Built in the corps and upgraded and renovated many times by the city which also operates it. Parking can be a slight issue due to no main parking facility and lot scalpers abound. All the surrounding streets have on street parking though
When you come with a large group of kids, & dont know your way around, its not easy trying to find your section. The staff was helpful in seating us once we found our way, and the seats are comfortable.
One of my Mothers Day gifts was to go to a TYRESE concert!!! I loved his show. I was on my feet from start to finish. This was my first visit to the Township. Very pleased with the ease of the buildings layout. It was also very clean and updated 💛
1st concert and to see Diana Ross, living Icon perform. Great location, clean venue, plenty of seats even if seating itself is tight. Will revisit again.
Small venue but very nice. Dont be fooled that the floor seats are the best though. Unless youre right up front, I think a 2nd tier balcony seat would probably be better.
Acoustics great! Small venue, very personal. Seated in second balcony, great seats. Of course it was Alison Krauss!!
KEVIN HART:IRRESPONSIBLE . Great show. The auditorium was clean, good security. Clean bathrooms. They ran out of food though so we had a really long wait for what was left. The food is pricey but thats common. Overall, enjoyable experience though parking is not very good at all.
Nothing posted online suggested that I would be unable to bring my purse inside. A quick tip on the website or with our tickets would have saved a very long walk back to the car.
Been here for several events from concerts to plays and performances. Staff is always helpful. They do serve alcohol (wine, beer and liquor) but it is your typical overpriced drinks because of it being an event venue. All the seats I’ve ever had have been great. This place does not have a parking lot so you have to street park on the blocks around it. If you get to the show early you should be able to find a spot.
Parking always a problem. Need better lighting and labels to direct to seating once main lights go out. Great stage sound and display.
Very Cool Venue! Saw Jerry Seinfeld, really enjoyed it :)
The Township Auditorium was cold, the seats were very uncomfortable, and the seats were too close together. I think the seats down in the front need to be Seperated at least another 6 to 8 inches. If a person gets up and wants to get past you, you have to get up and go out that row just to let that person leave. Then you can go sit back down. That is very annoying when you are at a concert or auction. The isle dose not need to be 10 feet wide either. There also needs to be toilet paper in the bathroom stalls, and paper towels.
After I sat in my seat for a minute I realized that my dress and panties were soaking wet which made me really uncomfortable. I reported it to someone with a yellow jacket on and he sent someone to cover my seat with a trash bag.I did not think that I would have to be uncomfortable in a seat that I paid $130 for 2 1/2 hours, Im not happy, but the play was great!
I love this venue. There are NO bad seats. Staff are friendly and attentive. They always have great entertainment.
Easy walk from parking garage. Staff were kind and helpful. We saw Needtobreathe, and it was an OUTSTANDING concert. Great venue conveniently located downtown.
First time and I came to see Tucker... Very good.. will go again
Enjoyed the show. Still dont understand why these auditoriums dont have the men and ladies restrooms on both sides next to each other. Instead, they have the men on one side, and the women on the other side.
Wonderful staff. There is a 7 foot angel in the building by the name of Tripppp. His radical empathy and kindness will never be forgotten. His actions led me to then spend $200 more on drinks for my people. God speed you beautiful giant!
Nice place. Staff was very good. Had a great time at the Charlie Wilson concert. I am ready to see him again.
Needs more parking. Seats too close together. But love the fact that they have enough screens for the people at the back and top
Nice stage. Close to performance. Joe Banammasso fantastic!!
Saw the Three Dog Night concert. EXCELLENT! It was so cathartic for my wife and I, being among an entire auditorium of our peeps and all of us singing all the songs. Brought back great memories. I was surprised to see that hard liquor was sold. Its okay forour crowd but I sure wouldnt recommend it for any younger venue. Recipe for trouble.
Its a smaller venue. My main complaint is that the seats were way too close together, and some of the seats didnt have arm rests. The positive is that they had restrooms on multiple levels.
Poor acoustics, terribly hot, very cramped. Have seen three shows here, all with same experience. Vowed to not go back. Will see ( and have) shows at another city before a bad listening/ viewing experience..
Was in town to see Tyler Perrys Madea final tour and the location was very nice. Plenty of seats the building looks small from the outside but very nice in the inside.
The township is an older auditorium but still has many weekend events like small concerts and comedians. It is often a venue for graduations and dance recitals as well. Like many downtown venues, there is not a lot of parking so be prepared to pay for parking if it’s available or walk a few blocks.
I went here to see Bob Dylan, we had front row seats!!!! The place was really nice, parking was a bit rough. Seats were comfy enough. Sound was wonderful : )
I was at the Luke Combs concert December 7th. I had not seen the township since they remodeled it. The place looked great! The staff were friendly, plenty of concession stands so i never waited longer than a few minutes. I will definitely be back!
Nice, quaint venue with a pretty good sound system, nothing spectacular, but adequate. Access is good, parking is horrible, but free for the most part, so go early or risk parking in an out of sight area. I didnt try the bar, bathroom was large, well lit and clean. Seats are okay, could use an upgrade. Staff was relatively helpful with directions. Watched Anthony Hamilton, very disappointed.
Great place to see a concert! IMO, theres not a bad seat in the house. My interactions with event staff have always been positive. Parking is kinda lame and sketchy late night, but otherwise I highly recommend it.
Nice clean can work on personal of sum work need internet had hard time pulling up my tickets
I have been to the Township multiple times, but I dont remember the chairs being so uncomfortable. The views from my seat were perfect. I was on the floor in the elevated area and surprisingly had not problem seeing over anyone despite being super short.
Way too hot in the auditorium, but great performance of the Nutcracker
Super cool little venue with great acoustics! We traveled from Charlotte and it was worth every mile!
The building shows signs of aging, and seating is not that comfortable for long sitting periods. The stage is large though, and its nice to have a place to see live shows
A funky old building with lots of memories. There are no bad seats in the house. Saw DWTS Live and it was spectacular!
Went to the Dave Chappelle show. It was GREAT!
A great medium sized venue to catch a concert and concession are not to expensive. I think a beer ran me about 5 bucks. Its been nicely renovate and parking was not to bad if your willing to pay 5 bucks, but there was plenty of Street parking other wise.
It’s really neat cause it’s kept the original structure and some of the flooring. They have so many amazing concerts in here.
Visited Columbia, Sc for a Kem concert and I was amazed by the sound quality for a smaller venue than a stadium size concert. Well maintained, very clean facility with very good acoustics! We had a great time on our visit to Township Auditorium.
Small concert venue in Columbia. Its been around forever. They have some decent concerts and shows here. Seats are very uncomfortable.
I go and have been to many concerts here and the event staff is always the very Best! They are very friendly, professional, and really make the concert experience awesome at the Township!
Very disorganized. No re entry. 100$ tickets. Security seemed knowledgeable but the Columbia SC police decided not to let me re enter. Nothing stated on my ticket nor in the auditorium about not letting me back in. I was discriminated against. Thank you for ruining my weekend after a 3 hour trip. I would welcome a response. Lets see where this goes.
They have an easy way to move the crowd in and seated. Concessions moved quickly. Great place to see a show.
This was my first time here and I wish once inside, there were more clear instructions as to seating. When I was able to find help inside, it was friendly.
Everything was great except the seating. The entire row had to get up for one person to get out.
Great seats no matter where you sit. We were at the top and could see the stage very well.
Amazing staff and experience. Not a bad seat in the auditorium.
Went to see Chicago, the band, live. Will be back for other events and performances. Found parking two doors down. Go in 2 hours early and check the private lots, reserve space for $20 😁
The Glady night show had a blast could have danced a little more.
Love it!!! Old time feel updated and great.
I needed this land mark inn order to get to new Dr. App. Great Old Theater
Very nice auditorium. It was renovated a while back and is really nice
I really enjoy this theater. Great place for affordable family entertainment.
Had Sooo much fun at the Charlie Wilson concert! What a beautiful venue for an awesome show!
I purchased 11 tickets to an event at the box office. I specifically asked and verified with the person whom I was speaking with at the box if the section I was purchasing was where I wanted to be seated. I was told the seats that were purchased were in the requested area. When I arrived for the show, the seats were the row below. I informed the box office of the area and was told their was nothing they could do about it. We were very disappointed in the show, our seats, and customer service of this venue.
This auditorium is a unique piece of history! Its a lovely venue for performance arts as the acoustics are really well heard throughout the auditorium.
Nice establishment. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Notsure realky
I love the venue and have attended many events here. The event staff are some of the rudest, most brisk people ever. The parking company harassed me for parking in a City of Columbia space. How are they allowed to make money charging for public free non-metered parking on the street? Badly done. All in all, no Southern hospitality here!
