We started bringing our kids here a couple of years ago and I am more then pleased. We instantly felt the love and family atmosphere. The Flores family is caring and compassionate and they care about our kids. They are all very well trained and have a very structured IBJJF curriculum and our kids are learning something new everyday. I highly recommend DC Fighters.
Such an awesome place to train. Very welcoming and knowledgeable. Always willing to help you learn and understand everything they teach. You will become a family when you train here!
I first want to say how kind and friendly they are. I have checked out a lot of gyms and these people are by far the most friendly and kind that Ive ever met. What they teach comes straight from Brazil, the instructors learn from the best in Brazil. Not only are they great at communicating and breaking down the moves, but theyre always willing to help whenever you get lost. They help instill confidence, even when youre like me and youre slow learner and have a long way to go. Ive only got almost two months, Im always tapping out, but its okay because they are extremely patient with me and how I learn.I also admire and love that their pricing is fair, and they also stand for good things. They are for veterans and all those that serve are great country.La familia, is the essence of this gym. When you join, you become a part of the family, and I can greatly attest to this. These are amazing people and it is a wonderful place to train.
I absolutely love DC Fighters USA! There are so many reasons why I am proud to call this place my home away from home. First, Professor Mike Flores Jr. (Ret. Army Ranger) teaches an ambitious and progressive curriculum to students who are eager to learn. His expertise in, and love of jiu jitsu inspires his students to test themselves and find confidence in their abilities.Second, the Flores family takes care of their students. Safety for the students is a high priority and essential when teaching potentially dangerous techniques, especially with kids. Coaches like Professor Alec keeps an upbeat tempo and attitude on the mat, which helps to keep the younger ones engaged, focused, and physical.Third, DCF is a multi-dimensional bjj and martial arts program, specializing in bjj, no gi grappling, Muay Thai, wrestling, and judo. Simply put, there is no program quite like it. With a very competitive BJJ squad already well established, the addition of muay thai, judo, no gi grappling, and wrestling offer students many strategies to succeed. There is never pressure to compete, but after lots of fun and consistent training, students often desire the opportunity to test their skills. When this happens, Professor Flores Jr. and his coaching staff are always excited to add new members their competition team. Finally, with 5 regular nights of training opportunities per week (and additional training on weekends) for adults and kids, there is something for everyone, and cross-training opportunities to round out the more complete fighter in all of us.In summary, this is a safe, clean, and professional bjj academy with accredited instructors who lead by example. As a family run, veteran-owned, positive learning environment, there is no place I would rather be learning these arts. I sincerely recommend DC Fighters USA if you are serious about training and want to be part of a team of good people. Hope to see you and your family on the mat! - Daniel Iberri-Shea
