Overcomers Counseling is awesome! When you walk in, they have a nice, inviting, clean waiting room with coffee and tea options. Inside the therapy rooms are comfy couches and pretty murals. The therapists really want to help you and see you become the best you. They truly want you to be able to overcome whatever you are struggling with. I highly recommend Overcomers Counseling.

I saw Bonna Machlan during my time with Overcomers Counseling. Bonnas style worked wonders for my mental health counseling and she did a great job of helping me attain the tools I needed to improve my mental health. She was easy to talk to and her style did wonders for my treatment.

Everyone here is wonderful!!! We have 2 kiddos who go here and it is amazing how quickly the therapists were able to read my kids and come up with a plan. And the best part is that it’s not only working but my kids honestly look forward to going! Definitely recommend.

This review is based solely on my experience with the office of Overcomers and not the counseling or counselor. Their office on Academy Circle is so bad that I wont be coming back. The first time I came to the building the air conditioner was not working. I brought in my baby and the office was at least ninety degrees. I couldnt even finish the session it was so sweltering, I was sweating all over my baby. The counselor was very apologetic and stated they were working on correcting the issue. If I would have known the AC was broken I would have rescheduled. Two weeks later the weather had changed and it snowed. The building was freezing and the heat was not working. Again the counselor was apologetic and stated they were working on the issue. Then this week I went in and again, the office was around ninety degrees. The heat or the AC does not appear to work at all, ever. I actually left after I walked in to the office, I didnt stay for my session. I pay a lot of money for these sessions and shouldnt have to pay to be miserable for an hour.The other issue is if you have an appointment after 5 pm, the counselor has to come downstairs and let you in to the building. My counselor has several appointments back to back. So if I get there ten minutes early I have to stand by the door, like an idiot, just waiting for someone to let me in. Sometimes my counselors sessions run a few minutes late, which I understand happens, but it makes it suck for clients like me. I get there early to go to the restroom and maybe get some water. But I cant because I cant even get in the building. And then if I go to the restroom when the counselor does come to get me it cuts into my session time. On Saturdays the building is also locked. I guess the building manager wont keep it unlocked for customers after 5 or weekends. I have asked why, but the counselors dont know.So based just on these issues I will not be going back to Overcomers. It is not worth the annoyance and being uncomfortable in sweltering heat or freezing cold through the entire session. It actually makes my anxiety and stress worse. Its a shame too because I really like my counselor. I told him if he ever gets a new office or leaves Overcomers to let me know because I enjoyed working with him. I do feel like he was helping me. The other office they have is a lot nicer and doesnt have the same temperature or entrance issues. But my therapists only works at the terrible office.

Kate is excellent. She has a way of getting people to open up that normally wouldn’t and even when you get off track, she’ll bring you back in respectfully. Awesome.

Jennifer has been great so far. She has given my husband and I exercises to work on together and individually to ensure our success as a married couple and individual people working to be the best versions of ourselves. This was a step we needed to take and I am glad we found Overcomers Counseling.

I saw Kate Hunt for the a couple of months (I started therapy right after I got laid off). I liked seeing her and had my appointments set to every week to almost twice a week. Once I started back at work and got personal reasons had less time for appointments, I started getting emails to schedule or be terminated as a client (WTH). These emails began not even into 2 weeks of being seen last..... I felt like just another appointment for her to get paid for. I decided to move forward and not see her again.

Working with David as our Biblical Counselor and Prepare-Enrich Facilitator was one of the most enjoyable and beneficial interactions I have ever experienced! The lessons and tools he provided for my fiance and I regarding the betterment our relationship have proven to be invaluable. I so appreciate his care, hard work, and advice. Not only has he acted as our counselor, but he is also our confidant and ally throughout our navigation as a couple. I am grateful for such guidance!

Im dealing with the loss of our son earlier this year. Before I saw my second counselor, a lady I work with told me about Overcomers. I had already contacted the previous place, so I wanted to see that through. I kind of dreaded starting over with someone new, going over the situation again, etc. My wife told me that I have to feel comfortable with who I am seeing in order to progress. She was right!The first appointment I had with Kate here at Overcomers, I knew before the session was over that I was finally with the right person. Her responses, attention and interaction are far better than my previous experiences. She engages me more about my feelings that I have a hard time showing/dealing with. It is a safe & comfortable environment

David did a great job making us feel safe and open during our counseling process. He had very helpful tools to guide us through and help us with our marriage. Comfort is an important quality to have when working on issues and trials and he has provided this for us as well.

David Corbitt was a fantastic counselor, mentor, and facilitator throughout the prepare-enrich program that my fiance and I participated in. He took a situation I was nervous about, and turned it into an experience I was excited to be a part of. The lessons and tools I walked away with, have given me more confidence in my marriage moving forward, and I have found a level of comfort with communication that I hadnt previously thought possible. The biggest take-away though, is that both my fiancé and I are willing and happy to return and request additional help should it be needed, because we know we have a true source of help and wisdom who would be willing to assist.

Jennifer Luttman is an excellent therapist, my wife and I could not be happier with her and the progress we have seen.
