Went to see the Ansel Adams photography exhibition and Mr. Weston photography exhibition in the Fine Arts Center more excellent, beautiful photography, nice use of filters and Light during all times of the year(s). Glad to see the Fine Arts Center back up and running again. Hopefully theyll get a lot more Great Exhibits. I missed the Monet exhibit up in Denver and Im hoping that one day that the Fine Arts Center will get that exhibit.
Well curated art museum in downtown Colorado Springs. Now owned by Colorado College and as a result is much better funded than it used to be. Has both permanent and temporary exhibits along the best an arts and theater schools in the city. There was a nice restaurant and small cocktail bar thats been close since the pandemic hopefully theyll reopen it soon.
Excellent experience with beautiful art. I truly enjoyed the Ansel Adams exhibit. Thank you for such a great experience
The art exhibits are wonderful and in great order and condition. This place is wonderful for some quiet time, just walking around looking at old and new art or sitting outside in the courtyard with the fresh air.
Pretty awesome place full of photographs, paintings, and some jars. Whole experience is 2 floors and takes about 90 minutes to walk through. Fun place for older children and couples.
The art museum is a credit to the region, with an excellent permanent collection alongside challenging and intriguing exhibitions. Arts shown is well curated and presented, with timely and relevant contexts for work that challenges a viewer to see themselves in context. Prices are affordable, but look, too, for free museum days noted on their website. The whole museum can be seen within one visit, but new additions and visiting shows necessitate and facilitate frequent return visits.
I love our Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Fantastic permanent pieces along with hosting incredible exhibits make this a wonderful place to visit!
Nice facility. If you are into art. Very artsy. I still dont understand art.
We were told the museum closed in an hour (4pm), but to take our time and enjoy. The exhibits themselves were beautiful and well laid out. It was a bit distracting when some employees began visiting with an apparent friend rather loudly, moving from room to room, closely behind our group. At 3:48pm, another employee approached us and reminded us that the museum closed in 12mins. She then followed us through the remainder of the exhibits (2 rooms)making us feel rushed, uncomfortable and unwanted.
Very gracious staff and beautiful displays. Ansel Adams photography and Cheech Marin Chicano collection featured. Free parking across the street.
Went to see the Ansel Adams exhibit on a weekday afternoon. Great exhibit, and hardly anyone there so we could take our time and enjoy it.
This is a must go to attraction if you find yourself in CS. The only thing I didnt like were the QR Scans for some of the pieces because they didnt work. It could have also been my phone.
It was a pleasant experience browsing the Permanent Collection, and the new exhibits are really neat. Worth taking your time. Also, several great pieces showcased by women artist for March.
Cheech Marin exhibit of Chicano & Chicana art is fantastic .. A must SEE!!
Really enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit. Overall a very nice gallery. Always an enjoyable afternoon at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center.
Overall a great place for art appreciation, with nice staff, and a gift shop with awesome items. I got to enjoy a very special private collection, but there is always something cool being shared. The kids were not as impressed, however. They only needed about 15 minutes in the tactile gallery and the scavenger hunt was only for the first floor. Most rooms upstairs have cozy chairs and art books for taking a rest, or for bored kids ;) I enjoyed it, but need to go back sans-kids.
Amazing experience! We especially loved Cheech Marins collection. Awesome place.
Fabulous exhibit on Ansel Adams.
Works on paper from the collection of Cheech Marin was fantastic!
We went there for the Ansel Adams exhibit, and really enjoyed the other exhibits as well.
Nice and relaxing! Galleries are set up nicely.
Refreshing atmosphere and content. Every time. Thank you
It was really fun for a field trip
We attended the Sound of Music musical last night and it was FANTASTIC! We were amazed at the talent, everyone sang, acted and danced beautifully! We enjoyed every minute and would definitely attend again. Please do More shows it was so good! Great job
Ansell Adams and Dale Chihuly.
Beautiful. Well worth your time!!
I take my granddaughters here for art classes and they love it. I cannot wait for them to reopen. They also have children’s plays as well.
Beautiful facility with a good assortment of pieces
The depictions of oppression and pain left me feeling depressed, even sadder than watching the news.
Love art!
Great Wagyu Burger! Attentive service. Fantastic atmosphere. The weather wasn’t patio permitted but the view is one the best in Colorado Springs. They also have great prices on glass wine. My server Ryan was great.
Worth the trip
This post is for the arts center/ art museum (not the theatre). I love art. I am an engineer, and an artist. I believe in instilling culture and the arts in children. Unfortunately, this is not a consistently child-friendly place. They have a tactile gallery where everyone is welcoming to children, but if you go anywhere else, the docents often chase you around, waiting for someone to do something they could reprimand you for. Rather than welcoming our family into the different galleries with gentle reminders, the intro lines were dont touch anything! and they literally chased us around repeating reminders even though all of the children were perfectly behaved. My kids were scared into crying. After having eaten our picnic lunch in the courtyard and cleaning several of the tables and chairs, and always leaving a place cleaner than we find it, it was really sad to be treated this way. Dont even think about bringing sealed and closed water containers into the galleries, you cannot carry them through for convenience if you are old and in a wheelchair or pregnant with several children and things to hold and remember. (Although I am sure you can drink wine and eat hors doeuvres in the galleries for executive parties!) Dont even think about discreetly nursing a baby or changing a diaper in a completely empty gallery. It is sad that even on free days the art museum is generally empty. If the docents were consistently trained to be kind and welcoming to families I am sure they could have more traffic. At this time though, if they dont want children in the museum, it might as well be closed to children and they can leave only the tactile gallery open to all guests. Sadly we had such a hard time the last time we came, we are all too afraid to visit again... we heard the message loud and clear: We were not welcome!
Beautiful places to visit
Beautiful building
Lame.
Ive enjoyed many plays in the past, but just went to Bad Dates with some girlfriends tonight and while the play was fun, the ushers made the entire experience a bit ridiculous. The play was open seating so we asked to move an unoccupied folding chair over to join a table with our group, and were told no. We asked three different ushers and each one ho-hummed about the chairs being for paying customers (which we were) so we finally resorted to taking turns SITTING ON THE FLOOR for the entire duration of the play while an unoccupied chair sat thirty feet away. Cool guys, thanks for that. Were able to laugh about it now, I guess.
I never realized how extremely talented the actors are here at the Fine Arts Center. In the last two years my family and I have attended four shows which have enriched our lives. We have all made a lifetime goal to attend at least two shows a year. Visits to view the different art exhibits in the museum is what I look forward to each month. Thank you!!!
This was a very cool museum I really liked their courtyard! I was surprised to find that there was not much about Colorado Springs here, but it was very wide spread with all of their cultural material. I like how much interaction things they had, minus the fact most did not work. We were lucky enough to make it here on their free days event! But, for a regular admission of $10 I absolutely find it worth it for a one time visit.
Highly recommend!
Truly a fantastic art center! Definitely a COS must do! Plus, they offer free days each month...what’s not to love about more opportunities for everyone to experience art!
This is a great art museum with a strong permanent collection and a good program of temporary exhibitions. The highlights include a number of glass sculptures by Chihuly and a variety of pieces by Native American artists. The museum is conveniently located near downtown, with easy access from I-25 and a decent-sized parking lot in front of the building. Adult admission is $10, which is a reasonable price for the size and quality of the exhibits.
Wonderful collections
Took advantage of the Free Fine Arts Center Day! I enjoyed the new exhibits since the last time I was there a couple of months ago. The staff answered any questions our group asked. We really enjoyed our day there.
Its worse than pulling teeth trying to get the staff here to honor a certificate. I have tried numerous times in the course of the past six months to try and get into a class with a certificate I won, and I am constantly getting e-mails that the person responsible for such a thing will be in touch with me. But I never hear from her, only other people using her email who assure me she will respond as soon as she gets back from vacation or what have you. Apparently the person responsible is never at her desk, or just doesnt think Im worthy of getting her attention. Thanks for nothing.
Interesting art but horribly rude staff! They seriously ruined our experience with how condescending they were toward my family and I. We left early because we felt so uncomfortable and disrespected. Theres a way to talk to people and we waisted our money going to this. What could have been a nice experience was the total opposite.
This museum is nice a good size with a nice variety of art. Clean, spacious and made for a nice outing. The art collections were a good variety and covered several centuries in time. I would go back when they get some new collections.
I work at a hotel and this is the one place I consistently tell people to visit. Ive been coming here since I was a kid and it always amazes me. Great architecture, exhibits, and plays.
I never see a negative when it comes to art and I feel each institute has its own creative design. I feel that art is anything and it does depend on the persons creativity. This building is professional but the art really extracted itself from the walls to the heart. I like this one.
Nice, clean museum with a rotating selections of works from different regions and time periods. Always with something modern too, which I enjoy
Nice place to visit! Close to Colorado College. Always interesting to wander through this place. They change out the art fairly often so there is always something new to see.
Dont get me wrong, I love the fine arts center, and Ive loved all the efforts and opportunities they make available for learning programs and students, but I was disheartened by the contempt from one of their older tour guides. At the time, the Fine Arts center had a Hispanic exhibition displaying Mexican farmers working in a field. The guide felt the need to express her unwanted political feelings, and jokingly explained how, these Mexicans look illegal to me, and I would bet when the cops come, theyll start running because they dont have their green cards. It made everyone on the tour uncomfortable when we had come to appreciate art from different walks of life. It was uncalled for, and disrespectful to the artists intentions. I dont think someone who lacks the ability to think critically, or make sound judgement over whats appropriate to say out loud, should have the ability to speak about different artists or works of art.
High quality exhibits. I especially like the variety and frequency of changes. They also have plenty of free days.
I saw Sweeney Todd here and it was great and the theater is wonderful! I love the seats, the layout, everything. The art gallery is equally wonderful. The CSFAC is probably what I miss the most about Colorado Springs.
Took my Granddaughter to see Bunnicula and the museum and we had so much fun. What a beautiful place. Now she wants to see Annie in December.
Lovely. The Rembrandt etchings are beautiful, and the staff attentive and helpful. Ragnorak very impressive and thought provoking. Overall flow of art unclear.
This is a delightful gem. It is an amazing museum. Wonderful collection and wonderful architecture. Well worth the visit.
A wonderful collection of art usually encompassing pieces of Coloradan history. Highly recommend going for the historic and Chicano cultural collections.
My wife and I attended the best performance of Man of LA Mancha that we have ever seen! My wife is disabled, and in a manual wheelchair, the ushers and other staff at the theater were extremely thoughtful and very helpful to me and my wife.
Super fun! Play was super scripted and to a lot of work bit was pulled of perfectly!
Ive visited several times and this time let me down. They have many fine pieces in their collection but most are hidden Maybe the staff is jaded and wanting to sparsely populate it with new mediocre items to keep it fresh for regular attendees. Even then a hall with bowl after bowl of Chihuly differing only in color and identical to those in half of America’s museums gets boring by halls end. I’ll check the web site more carefully before going again.
Incredible collection. Rembrandt etchings worth it alone. Southwestern art fantastic.
Really nice to have something like this in town. Multi exhibit displays with a multitude of dire rent styles and media. They do have a bar here too ;)
Lovely place, especially for any lover or art. Oh and they have free art days every month you should call for details
What a pleasant surprise!I highly recommend this museum
It is clear the Fine Arts team puts their heart into their exceptional work and performances.
Very unique place and we went on free museum day.
World class collection. Really innovative curation.
Bemis School of Art hosts Pikes Peak Woodturners.
Great day enjoying wonderful!! Third Fridays are free......mark your calendar!
Lovely place... Everyone should especially cause its free!
First time we went was to see the El Mac Exhibit. Awesome!
I just went to the Fine Arts Center to see the Vogel collection which has been heavily advertised as a must see this Summer. I was terribly disappointed. There was literally 30 pieces, very rudimentary sketches that could have been completed by a 10 year old. The piece featured so widely in the advertisements in the Independant by Lucero may have been the only impressive piece in the whole collection. Pick up a copy of the Independent and save youself seeing that collection ! There are lots of other VERY worthwhile pieces of art on display, just not this particular collection.
One of the best institutions in Colorado Springs to visit. Beautiful and provoking art.
Saw Man of LaMancha. Amazing!
Wow, just Wow!!! Come support this place and keep the amazingness alive!I will keep coming back!!
Absolutely made us feel alive
My favorite museum
Terrific Baskerville performance.

We are delighted with art of this magnificence in Colorado Springs.
