Team was absolutely amazing, user friendly, and understanding. They could use a few more employees during rush hours but overall the team at the counter hustled extremely hard to ensure they handled customers with care. They also kept everyone in the waiting room abreast of what was going on. Definitely nothing negative about the team and how they handled business. Absolutely recommend.
It’s nice to see a rental car center that has really turned things around for the car game. After a nightmarish experience with Enterprise previously(different location), I had no desire to ever book with them again, but I was desperate.Can I say WHEW! This was a night-and-day contrast! Check-in was smooth as ever and all the staff went above and beyond with grace. I had the pleasure of being helped by Josh Walker. Josh helped me from the start of the day - a kind courtesy call to check on me and let me know my reservation was ready, to then later meeting my particular needs for a rental by shuffling things around, as well as carry on friendly conversation without neglecting service to others. This was truly a stellar experience - all from a place I had never expected to be at again! I couldn’t be more please. This is my new rental location going forward forever now. Renting a car while my car has insurance repairs. The guys at the office were very nice, professional, and patient and went out of their way to help me. I forgot my phone at home (which had my insurance info on it). They let me call my son and he emailed a copy to the associate. They could have sent me on my way but they were kind, patient and helpful. I am so thankful and pleased with the excellent service.

Always have a good experience with Enterprise. Great staff whove always gone above and beyond. This is why I will continue to rent from Enterprise without question. The vehicles Ive rented were all good, and a lot of times I get upgraded to a better vehicle without any additional costs. Never had any problems with any of the vehicles Ive rented and Ive been renting from this location for several years (my girlfriend lives about 40 minutes east in Waverly). The cars have always been clean and in very good repair. I do wish theyd get vehicles with the adaptive cruise control with full stop though. Cant really say anything bad about Enterprise as a whole and definitely not this location. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Jerome Forehand was very professional, thorough, and personable. He ensured we received the same type of vehicle we reserved. Had experiences with other reservations in past where I was unable to get the vehicle I reserved. Jerome made sure to provide excellent service even after returning the vehicle. My daughter left her iPad in rental vehicle. The Colonial Heights team found it and Jerome verified my identity then returned it. Have to say this was the best experience yet!!! Wow, this was the honestly the best Enterprise, yet alone car rental establishment, experience I’ve ever had. At first they didn’t have a car that was suitable to accommodate me but Joshua Walker took my number down and called me back literally 20 minutes later with a rental car that I couldn’t refuse. He was very welcoming and professional.

I was concerned about a rental that I had booked in November 2021 (yes, a few months out). I had few questions and called up to enterprise first thing as soon as I woke up. I spoke with Jerome. He was very well mannered. He answered all my questions without hesitation. He made sure that I understood all the answers to my questions and re-worded his answers until he was confident that I was confident that i knew exactlywhat he meant. He kept the conversation light and funny while doing his job. He definitely made booking with enterprise easy.

I rented from enterprise in Petersburg and told myself never again. I was in a car accident and my insurance got my rental set up through enterprise and I wasn’t pleased....Enterprise in Colonial Heights, I must say every gentleman I interacted with was very respectful and patient. Been dealing with them no problems until now. Corporate never returned my call. Had a 12 p.m reservation for a SUV and was told all I could get was a pick up truck. Locally wouldnt be a problem but to drive out of town no! Then he tried to give me something like a two seater. Finally they put us in a Camary. A lil tight for what we needed, but by this time it was 5:30 p.m.Never again!!!! Screws and rods in my back are now crying. Just another reason we requested a larger vehicle.
I booked a standard size SUV (GMC or similar) online through a third party. I called the 800 number the day before pick up to check for a larger SUV or minivan. The representative told me the specific location in Colonial Heights nor surrounding locations had either available, but they did have what I reserved. Showed up the next day to pick up my SUV to travel out of town and they did not have it nor did they notify me in advance that they did not have it. They said my number wasnt included, but Id spoken to the rep the day prior. They could have also cancelled my request electronically. I was not offered any type of incentive or coupon for future rentals. Will not be booking here again.
The guys were awesome. I arrived (late my fault) and they tried to call me. To let me know they were out of standard. They upgraded me for free. Even though they knew they would get flagged for it. Jerome and Malik were the ones working and they were fantastic! The deposit amount was higher then what I was prepared for and he worked with me on that! Overall great experience! Will do business again!
First thing I need to say is I always go to Colonial Heights because of the employees at the Colonial Heights location are Wonderful!!! Its not their fault that they couldnt give me a different vehicle except something smaller or something else that would cost me a lot more money. Enterprise customer service is the one who messed up!!!!! The way you have to book a Vehicle now its not customer oriented. I request a Rogue that fits 6, I ended up with a Rogue Sport that only fits 4. Plus this vehicle is no comfortable for a 7 hr trip.

I’ve unfortunately attempted to use this enterprise 3 different times in the past few years. Every time they run out of cars even though I always book in advance. This time, my insurance company called to set up the reservation and they insured they had a car. I come an hour later after having to get and ride and I’m told “we don’t have any cars, you can come back tomorrow”. I also overheard them offering a van to someone who called over the phone while I was waiting for a ride back home. Avoid this enterprise if you can.

Worst rental car place had a reservation for two weeks walk-in to pickup the car and they give my car to a customer with no reservation and they were out of cars at the lot. Plus my pickup time was at 1230 I got there at 1145. And as I’m waiting for them to find a rental car for me a staff member calls me while I’m inside waiting to tell me that they can’t fill my reservation I’m sitting right in front of him. Trust me don’t rent any car from here you will be highly disappointed.
This place is lacking. Lack of cars and customer satisfaction . Spoke with one lady who had made a rental. Showed up they have no car for her. Tried to get a rental and staff was less than helpful. Wont be using them.
The experience from Enterprise here in Colonial Heights was by far the best experience I ever had. The customer service from Jerome was fantastic, I will definitely come back and consult with him in the future.
I DONT RECOMMEND THUS COMPANYU book a car a day or a week before. Then on the day of the reservation u go to the location and they tell u they dont have what u want or even some thing the same size or bigger. I asked the employee to call near by locations to try to get me some he didnt do nothing. WHY u but online that u have cars available and they dont. NEVER AGIAN .

This was the most enjoyable and easiest rental and return that I have ever experienced renting a car thus far! I was offered all the coverages and I accepted them all, the associate was an excellent sells person, he explained very well and made great comparisons for the just in case of. I think his last name was Simpson and he was very polite and professional and also the one that checked the car back in, his name was Lee and he was also very polite and professional. I recommend the Colonial Heights location for your rentals if possible. They get you in and out and have the answers to any questions that may come up. A very polite and professional staff of people! A very enjoyable, stress free experience!

The manager Mike is unprofessional. He should learn not to speak disparagingly about customers in front of other customers. He should also rethink his condescending decision to provide business lessons to his customers. When I asked for the ride he he responded his driver is busy. I said the driver is right here and the car is parked outside. His was response was “ok, the cars outside so what?” He then proceed to cut me off, made a comment about what is the problem and then walked off while I was speaking. I work in customer service and have never spoken to a client in this manner even in escalated situations. I will say there is an employee there by the name of Lee who spoke to me with kindness and courtesy the entire time, the manager could take some queues from him on to speak to ppl.

Chatted with employees they were POSITIVE they could reserve me an SUV or van for my grandfathers memorial trip as it was 7 of us going together ... So I reserved it ... Went for pickup and NO enterprise in the area had any suvs or mini vans .. ended up having to risk it and drive my vehicle my sister did too. So unfortunately be there is no no star option. They could care less about their customers ... To find out it was something as simple as they got a memo to not reserve these 7 seaters because they were overbooked for the races.... I should have been told upon first convo not when I needed to pickup (I reserved a WEEK in advance) unacceptable and I will not be depending on enterprise for my rental needs EVER again.Do better.

For starters if I could give a 0 star I would... Worst experience ever, customer service is terrible. Malik or Maurice whatever his name was lied and said they didn’t have vehicle available then turn around and my girlfriend calls and talks to someone else and they tell her to come right up to store and they had stock. I call back and get someone that states Malik or Maurice would never lie to a customer and they stand behind there employee. This place is a joke. On top of al of this my rental was through insurance and they called me 4 days in a row telling me to return the car because my vehicle was ready which was also a lie. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE.
The office where my rental was to have been picked up didnt have the vehicle reserved as promised when I got there. This would have left me stranded without transportation as my vehicle was being repaired. A a quick call to the next closest location (by me, not the original location but by me) and they not only could accommodate me but took care of dpeaking to my insurance company yo let them know the change as well. Theircustomer service was superior!
As usual, these folks were great. The coronavirus has forced them to drastically alter the way they do business, but they are clearly up to the task. Its different, but its the same fantastic service as always.Edit: I have nothing but good things to say about the employees at Enterprise. I have enjoyed renting from them for several years. However, I have recently had to take my business to Hertz. Nearly every time I try to rent from Enterprise, they do not have any vehicles available. I have tried as many as four locations in the general area, all with the same result: no vehicles available.
If 0 stars was a choice that is how I would rate this business. Awful. Poorly managed! Myself and 5 customers that came in after me had issues with reservations being found. While I was there out of 6 people with reservations only 2 left with vehicles. Wouldnt answer my question and just flat out told me he wouldnt rent to me. Do not trust them.

I requested a vehicle class a month in advance and they did not have any vehicle of that type. This is the 3rd time this has happened. I felt like I was at an auction. You can have this one instead. The vehicles have always been reliable but the tire pressure light remained on the entire time but we were told it would go off. Not very comforting when you are in the mountains. While on the trip the oil change due light kept flashing. I may try a different location and see if we get better service.
I was in a bind and rented a car when my RV broke down. The service was quick and they put me in a new Chevy Malibu. It was a really great car to drive! When I explained my circumstances, the rep gave me a break on the gas level for the return of the vehicle. When I did return the car, the rep gave me a ride to get my RV. The service was excellent. The rep was polite and very pleasant. I would absolutely rent from Enterprise again!

I haven’t had a more pleasant and no-hassle experience with any other rental car company. In the past few weeks I’ve rented from this location multiple times and the entire staff have been incredibly helpful. Lee, in particular, has helped me the most and he was always very professional, honest, and knowledgeable. The whole process from start (confirmation call before pick up) to finish (quick drop off) is simple and efficient. This facility seems to be handling COVID precautions seriously; the cars I’ve rented have been clean, not too many people inside at once, a waitlist if they’re busy, and payment options on site are done with a handheld device. I’d recommend renting from this location to anyone in the area!
Extremely accommodating and professional. We ran into a problem with a rental car from another rental agency during our travels who had no cars available for us to switch out. On 08/13/2020 I went to Enterprise Rent-A Car on 455 Charles H. Dimmock HwyColonial Heights, VA 23834 to pick up a rental reservation I made the previous evening. Not my first time renting from this particular Enterprise Rent-A-Car and didnt think anything else about it once I got confirmation on the rental via email with confirmation # 187108****. Once arriving at Enterprise I handed the employee who works there my credit card and drivers license and he asked me to show proof of where I worked. I asked him what did I need to do to prove where I worked. The Enterprise employee said I could show him an old pay check stub. I didnt have an old paycheck stub in my possession so the same employee tells me to prove I live at the address on my drivers license. I asked how would I prove theist the gentleman and he replied I could show him two bills that I pay. I informed the employee that I travelled about 10-15 miles to pick up the rental car and I didnt randomly have two bills that were sent in the mail on me. I as told I couldnt pick up my reservation until I proved where I worked and where I lived. This should have been in the online contract that I would need these items instead they pop it up at the last minute which is inconvenient and disrespectful to returning customers.
Good service and quick.A little to quick on my return though, i left my garage door opener, called back the next morning and was told they were going to check with the customer who rented the car right after me, but have not heard back yet.Overall good experience, I should have remembered the opener as well.

I put in a reservation for a car but I got upgraded to a SUV due to limited cars for no extra charge and I got told to not worry about gas. I have been dealing with this company and only this company for years. One thing they havent done yet is disappoint me. Thank for the great customer service as a whole.

I made an online reservation with Enterprise a couple days in advance for the Fourth of July weekend for a 9am pick-up. Arrived at 8:50, didnt get helped until after 10am. They told me they were way overbooked and had taken 85 online reservations the night before, but obviously didnt have anywhere near 85 vehicles; so they were taking people with reservations first come first served, and canceling anybodys reservation who didnt show up on time. I reserved a mid-sized SUV (Ford Edge) specifically to have more room and cargo space for my travel. They repeatedly offered me a Toyota Corolla for half-price, even after I told them I really needed the mid-sized SUV. Still, I ended up with a Jeep Compass, as that was all they had available. The Compass is significantly smaller than a Ford Edge. They told me its in the same category (idk how though, since its quite smaller and at least $8,000 cheaper retail), and they wouldnt do anything for me to lower the price. Take it or leave it, we got plenty more who will take your place type of attitude. Firstly, how does a national business operating in 2020 have a computer system that allows an incredible amount of over-booking?! They literally wasted 50 or 60 peoples time, who thought they had a reservation and showed up to find out there was nothing for them. Also, I find it pretty rude that they hold the customer accountable for being on time to their reservation, but then have no qualms about making that customer wait over an hour after their reservation time to be helped. It seems their own rules dont apply to them. Just another business paying lip service to customer service while actually treating customers like animals that they are gracious enough to feed at the trough.
They lied about having vehicles when I called on the phone and made a reservation and the employees were rude and disrespectful when I got there and said they don’t have any cars because it’s a holiday weekend and I should of came earlier. Do not go here.

They were very busy and seemed short staffed. Had a reservation already completed online for 10am but didnt get out untill 11am. That being said, the 2 men that were there were very professional, very courteous, and very apologetic about the delays. Others might not have handled things as well as they did.

I had an horrible experience at this enterprise will never ever rent from them again I had a claim from my insurance company and they set me up with enterprise so I went into get my rental and I had a crack in my license not separated or anything and they wouldn’t give me a car the manager came over and bent my license back and forth and made it way worse made the crack all the way thru was waiting cause of pandemic being so hard to get appointments at DMV but because of manager damaging my license completely had no choice poor extremely bad customer service
Skip to the bottom of review...The customer service was 100000%. It was hot as hell on 7-17-20 when I went to pick up my rental. I sat in there and watched those gentleman move thru their customers with courtesy, patience and professionalism. They never seemed frustrated or angry as customers asked questions. They still answered all phone inquiries with professionalism and got people in and out quickly. I will no longer go to the airport to get my rental vehicles....Ill stick with Enterprise in Colonial Heights. I prefer that office over Petersburg as well.Went back on the 18th Of June and Joshua Walker was extremely helpful as always the customer service is extraordinary. Its my go to place

Just picked up a car from them. It was almost closing time and I took the last car they had. The gentleman helping me came and picked me up and was courteous and professional as well as friendly and just a nice guy to talk to. I mentioned I had wanted a small car but all they had was a can. He cut the rate down to a small car and gave me a discount on top of it. Definitely the best experience I have had with Enterprise.

Should explain too customers up front when i had this rental for 3 weeks no animals. Charged me $50 too vac. And charged for the gas when it was returned with gas in it.
Our car was totaled & our insurance settled quickly but we still were without a vehicle. To top it off my husband was hospitalized with an unrelated issue for over a week. The folks at Enterprise stepped up & ensured I had transportation at a fabulous rate. I had to extend the rental a couple of times & it was so effortless on my part. I cant thank them enough, especially Justin, what a great asset you are for this company, professional, kind & supportive. Thank you again for being there for us.
The experience went okay but I was about an hour into my 10 hour drive when an enterprise employee called me to inform me that shed made a mistake and that the vehicle I was in needed an oil change. I had to take the vehicle to an auto shop during my vacation for the service and then I had to ask for some form of compensation which came in the form of $50 off my bill.
I love this place. the prices are really decent, the staff is very courteous and efficient, and the vehicle variety is excellent. theres no wasted time here. they get you in and out in no time. they go over the vehicle with you and even set the radio stations! Ive rented from here to drive from VA to TX as well as from VA to FL and most recently thru my insurance company when a deer slammed into my car. there are 2 locations near me, in Colonial Heights and in Petersburg. both are excellent.
Never had a bad experience..they call to check your reservation an once you return they call to see how every thing went..every time Ive been in there all employees are nice and Im in and out in less than 10minutes..i always reserve a car online..the cars r always nice and clean and ive never had any issues..i have nothing bad to say..i will keep using them and suggest them to others..one more thing,its a $200 deposit an i think it takes about 4/5 days to repost to my account once I return the car.

My main issue was that I reserved a car through the web site itself and not through a third party site such as Travelocity or Priceline ...... so when I went to pick up my rental on a Saturday I was told there were no rentals available, there were about 4 to 5 other customers left without a rental. So of course I was upset and being in town for only 3 more days this set me back a great deal. I was informed that a rental would be available for me to pick up the following day Sunday ...... no I needed the car for SATURDAY !! I had a lot of running around to do and besides Saturday business hours are different from Sunday business hours so now I’m working on limited time and days. Keeping in mind I was schedule to leave on Amtrak two days later, which I missed my 2:11 pm train and had to take the next train which was 4 hrs later because I didn’t have enough time to get everything done I needed to, which cost me an extra $25 to change my ticket.Now the only thing I can suggest when a shortage happens contact the customer and give them a heads up don’t waste your time coming all the over to the rental place because we don’t have anymore cars left ........ especially when I took an Uber to the rental place ...... the only good thing was Enterprise did take $20 off my bill for the cab fare I spent. But this put me in a bind. Cost me time and money ( ticket change and had to pay someone else to take me to Amtrak because my free ride I had set up was not available at the later time) ........ oh one other thing another customer that was turned away on Saturday as well was offered a free upgrade to a Maxima while I was still in a Sentra ...... not too much of a big deal but it would have been nice to be offered an upgrade as well ..... along with the $20 off ........ they way I was in convinced a free day would have been more satisfying. Hopefully any future rsvp that I make will go much smoother. The staff at this location was still courteous though .
In March I rented a medium size vehicle, I was granted an up grade to a Tahoe. It was awesome. I only needed to fit four however the Tahoe seated seven. So we had plenty of space. The second row was bucket seats with the third row a bench. Everything was powered, with in lane sensors, video backup and power lock and windows. The Tahoe was great on gas and it was a smooth drive. Im looking for a new vehicle so the Tahoe is now on my short list. Thanks for the upgrade.
Ive used this location several times and I always have a good experience. The cars are always clean. If you reserve a compact car & they dont have one to give you, theyll upgrade you to an economy or intermediate for free. They dont knick pick over crumbs left on the seat or floor, as long as the car isnt extremely dirty or smells of smoke. Enterprise will even pick you up & drop you off. I have nothing bad to say about them & well continue to use Enterprise.
Everything went as it was supposed to. I was picked up by Quincy the day I rented the car and I was brought back by Shorty when I returned the car. They were both very pleasant. I also spoke with Kathleen on the phone who was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I returned the car a few hours early and they gave me money back for that! Overall this transaction was painless!
