If I could give more that 5 stars I would. Daniel and Kat were absolutely amazing in designing, building and furnishing our backyard oasis. Attention to detail and extremely professional. Already planning Phase 2!!!

If I could give a 4.5, Id do that but the scale is limited to just whole numbers. Overall, I was pretty satisfied, I liked the work, Id recommend them, and I intend to use them again for some other projects.Heres all the things I liked: Daniels initial responsiveness, explanation of the work he would do, the timeliness of the quote, the crew themselves did a nice job, were friendly, and answered all my questions. Also, when there was a small issue with the sprinkler system that happened as a result of the landscaping work, the crew came back over and fixed it.The only thing that kept it from being a 5 out of 5 was the turn around time to then fix the issue with the sprinkler. I had called and was told a crew would be out in a few days, and then it didnt happen, so I had to call again and they had forgotten or lost track of what they said so it ended up being another few days so that wasnt great. However, Daniel was committed to getting it resolved, and when I spoke to him directly, he got a crew out right away and they fixed it. That was probably more of an administrative issue than it was anything related to their landscaping skills. Again, Id use them again and Id recommend them.

Thompson and Sons did a great job for us. We needed new dirt and sod and also a new drain and they did exactly what we wanted. They finished in the time frame quoted and for the price quoted. The yard was left very nice and neat. I would definitely recommend them.

Ive used Thompson & Sons for landscaping and for a drainage project. They are very professional and helpful and the workers are so polite!! Mine was a small project (from their point of view), but they always made me feel like it was important to them. The results are beautiful!

Overall great job on the work done! I had some new trees and irrigation system put in, I had a few little mishaps with the irrigation system, but we got it fixed for the most part!! Yay!! I have never ever used a landscaping company who communicates as well as Thompson and Sons. Its so refreshing. They tell me the day and time they are coming. If they are delayed due to weather they let me know. When they finish the work, they let me know. And they do fabulous, beautiful work! Highly recommend.

Thompson and Sons built a cedar-plank raised bed garden that will be wonderful for my vegetable gardening!. Replaced a few frozen shrubs with good quality new ones, nice job mulching and all. They even came a few days earlier than scheduled!

After adding a pool to new construction, I needed to finish landscaping my backyard. I contacted over 10 landscapers in BCS prior to starting my project. They either didnt return phone calls, no-showed appointments, or were ridiculous on their quotes (over double my budget). Daniel was easy to work with start to finish. He listened to the plan I had in my head, and was respectful of my budget. He also helped me set realistic expectations so I could adjust my budget for what I wanted. He and his crew worked hard to complete the project - although it took a couple days longer than expected (it was a big project!!). Final result was worth the wait.

I picked Thompson’s & Sons initially based off their reviews. After working with Daniel and Kat, I am really pleased and excited about the job they did. From the design layout to the actual installation of the rocks and plants. Their crew of Cameron, Duane and Trip were real go-getters and worked with me getting the large boulders placed how I wanted them and the care they took with the planting and positioning of everything. They did an excellent job! I cannot wait for the next 3 months pass to see how all their hard work will have grown and filled in.

We booked Thompson and Sons to remove dead plants, build a trellis, and convert our flower bed sprinklers from spray to drip. After being rescheduled three times, they finally completed the job, claimed to have finished the work, required payment, and left. When we tested the sprinklers we got a geyser in the front yard and a pool of standing water in the back. Six weeks later, the sprinkler system is still not functional. We have called and emailed numerous times but nothing has been done. In fact, in one email the owner told me since it was raining a lot I shouldn’t be using my sprinkler system! The company signed an agreement with us, we paid a LOT of money for this job, and I don’t care if there’s a flood - I paid for work to be completed and I’m owed either a functional sprinkler system or a refund.

We hired Thompson & Sons to overhaul our front flowerbeds and help alleviate a drainage issue we were having. The crew showed up on time each morning, was dressed professionally, polite and friendly. The project did take one day longer than they had estimated, which I expected knowing how much work they had to complete. The workers quickly addressed any issues we had for the most part. We did feel like we needed to watch over the project to avoid shortcuts when the supervisor was absent - which happened more than I was expecting. We are still waiting on one item to be completed (it has been a couple of weeks). We have emailed regarding status, but have not heard back from them. As for the aesthetics of the the project, we like how the beds turned out and the faux creek bed. We are very hands on people and usually do most of our projects ourselves, but did not have the time to tackle this one. Bottom line we would like to have seen more attention to detail.

Masons crew was fantastic! They dug up an old drainage system that was broken when we moved in, and replaced it, all in less than two days. They were on time, respectful, and the company is very responsive to answer any questions you may have before, during, and after their work is completed. We called Thompson & Sons Landscaping to help us solve our drainage problem at our new home is south College Station. From the beginning Daniel and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Good work at a reasonable price

Daniel and his team removed six mature trees and trimmed several more. They worked in very tight spaces and protected all the other plants and the house. Cleanup was excellent. Ill definitely use them again.

Daniel Thompson has done numerous job for me! I would definitely recommend him ! He replaced a fence for me and did an outstanding job. He built a custom gate for me(extra wide) so that i would be able to drive my riding mower through it! He also did an excellent Landscaping job for me that really made the house look good. I also can recommend his Lawn Care services, which I use occasionally when my back is acting up. This is a B.S. story!! I did not post this review!! He is limited in his knowledge of fencing and could not replace a side gate properly that has steel posts instead of a 4x4!! The gate hangs and drags on the ground! I asked him to come back and repair it, and he sent an inexperienced worker who stuck a 2x4 and a a few screws in it and did not fix the problem. He was supposed to dig out all the small trash trees in another house that I had and all he did was cut them off about 3 inches high, so I could not see them and now I get hung up with the riding mower! Do not use this person!!

In today’s world customer service is lacking in most businesses. I can tell you that customer service is alive and thriving when you work with this company. They have a quick response time, professional and thorough estimates and reasonable prices.

I would absolutely go with Thompson and Sons again in the future. Daniel took the time to understand what we were going for and then was creative in coming up with ideas to make it happen. We wanted to maintain a natural look in our backyard (which has lots of trees and shrubs) but we needed a fence for child safety. I recently had a mess on my hands when a neighbor’s 40 ft tree fell in my yard and crushed a large section of the wooden fence. I found Thompson & Sons while looking for someone to remove the tree so I could get the fence fixed. In the meantime, the neighbors were able to cut up the easy part of the tree, but were unable to cut the huge trunk back far enough to clear the fence line. Plus I was left with several huge sections of the tree in my yard. When I explained what happened to Daniel, he let me know they also did fencing (among many other services, as I learned later). They came out to assess the situation and give me a bid. They gave me a very fair price so I went ahead and got the whole 75 ft of fence replaced as the old one was in bad shape. I was so pleased with how friendly, professional and prompt they were. I have dogs, so having the fence down was not a good situation. They managed to get my job scheduled sooner than expected and the crew worked quickly and efficiently to demo the old fence and put up a brand new, beautiful wooden fence. Removing the large tree sections still sitting in my yard was not part of the bid, but they went above and beyond to get them out of my yard. I highly recommend Daniel and his crew.

Thompson & Sons did a great job of carefully pruning our pittosporum and boxwood, leaving them looking tidy but not bald, the way other landscapers have done. They also took care of other landscaping chores in an efficient, careful manner. I highly recommend their services.

Disappointing, poor quality work. Maybe our tiny, $4000, job wasn’t worth them taking the time and effort to do it properly? Or maybe this company just doesn’t care and they aren’t the “professional” landscaping company they told me they were. Our first hint should have been the landscape design drawn out on a piece of paper and emailed to us after I emailed asking about it. At which point I was told I did send it but I’ll send it again. Hmm.. customer is always wrong another light bulb moment I missed. Then I called the day they were supposed to start, after receiving an email & a text they would be there, and the owner said didn’t you get our email that we weren’t starting until tomorrow? There goes 3!! Hindsight really is 20/20.Three gentlemen showed up early the next day to start work. They worked hard and fast. The one thing done well was tree trimming, everything else not so much. Redesigned flower beds to make them smaller and add sod back to the yard. Chop block around the beds was just pushed in place, one piece was on the sidewalk. Plants put in the ground incorrectly, either bad side facing out, in the wrong area, and even not in the ground just used mulch to bury them. Left trash in flowerbeds-branches with leaves, sticks, root balls and covered it all with mulch. We were charged an additional $180 for plants when at least 2 plants on the design were not planted and 4 of the plants I could of purchased for $10 or less and they would have looked better and been the colors I wanted.Irrigation system was never checked by the landscaper after laying sod, redesigning flower beds and digging holes. Needless to say several sprinkler heads were buried and several were broken. That’s after they replaced the 2 they knew they broke.They never even bothered to water the sod or plants at the end of the day before leaving. Even though a hose was requested for that purpose, and one was provided. The yard was torn up in places due to using a mini skid steer. When this was mentioned to the owner he said the grass get pushed down from the equipment but it stands back up after a few days. There are several spots were there is no grass and guess what we had to pay for an entire pallet of sod because we wanted zoysia grass. I’m pretty sure all of that was not installed on our lawn, would have been nice to have to take care of the bald spots in the yard.Well I guess you get the drift of my bad review. I hate to say it but I’m done trusting landscapers in this town. We have spent over $16000 on various landscapers only to be disappointed every time. And I’m not the only one, my neighbor has had the same issue. We’ve decided it’s better to hire a high schooler with a work ethic to do the hard work and supervise/help. So much for helping small businesses and the local economy.

Thompson & Sons Landscaping did an exceptional job pruning 40 + palm trees in our front yard. The trimmers were meticulous in that they spared a nest of baby squirrels plus the clean up was outstanding. Great price and great job, Ill be using T & S Landscaping for future palm tree maintenance.

Daniel and his team reworked the landscaping in front of our home. They replaced all plants and existing earth and weeds with flagstone, all plants are now in containers with sprinklers inside the planters. We have had only minor issues and they have been addressed quickly.

I had Thompson &Son do complete lawn service and flower bed work I was disappointed in the quality considering the price / month. After each mowing my lawn had clumps of clippings like a hay field. I ended up replacing the annuals because the ones they planted didn’t take.

I was looking to have my front yard sodded and repaired after a truck drove through it in a heavy rain. I called Thompson & Sons and asked if they could come by to provide an estimate on the cost of repair, I was told they would come by that evening and provide me with a quote that night. A week later I called back to inquire about the quote since I had not heard anything and was given an apology and that they would get the quote to me that night. Two days later I called back asking for an update because I still had not heard from them and was told that what I was requesting was not what they do at Thompson & Sons. I communicated that this would have been nice to know a week prior since I have been waiting on their estimate when I was hung up on. I typically give companies the benefit of the doubt but I do not recommend Thompson & Sons based on this unprofessional interaction. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
