I know the mandate is over in Texas but barbers should still be masking at least on request of the customer. Not everyone has had a chance to be fully vaccinated yet and, news flash, a haircut is a very easy scenario for covid to spread.You lost a customer today.

The details got missed. Waxing, pedi, and beard trim were weak. My stylist neglected to get all my stray hairs. When I brought it to her attention, it was as if I did not seem to matter. So I had to come home and clean up the areas. Tough getting ahold of hairs in the ear when your fingers are chubby. $65 overspent.BTW - I paid for haircut, pedi, facial, waxing, and trim.

These people took on my wifes project and did amazing with it!!! Macy did it and the end result was spectacular 10/10 would go again!!!

Not sure I can really tell you the greatness of this place. The people are great and greet you with a smile. But lets talk about Ashley W. for a minute. When you get your hair touched by this angel you get more than a haircut. You leave looking like a Greek God. Its almost as if her clippers have a magical spell on them that makes them absolutely flawless. Her hands work with the accuracy of a Marine sniper. And her vision of the art she creates is comparable only to Michelangelo or Picasso. So if you request her and have the honor to sit in her chair, buckle up my friend, your life is about to change for the better. You may find that women will throw themselves at your feet and your boss will want to give you a raise. Doors will open as you enter the room. They may even throw parades in your honor. So first ask yourself if you are ready for the kind a responsibility that comes with such a great haircut.

Cool place to get a nice cut

I decided to visit a barbershop for the first time since the pandemic and this place usually gives good haircuts. Half of the employees and none of the customers wore masks. One of the stylists was adamant in her refusal to follow basic CDC guidelines like wearing a mask.Got a decent cut but probably also got COVID.

The atmosphere is just relaxing and I look forward to going every time I need a haircut.

Came in with no appointment, and seemed like it was a burden having me come in to the people there. Cut my hair in 8 minutes, and didnt offer a wash. Seemed like they wanted to hurry me out, even though I was the only customer in the entire building. Was getting my haircut for my wedding in 3 days, and felt like I wasnt wanted. $27 for an 8 minute haircut with no fade, and no wash. Still tipped well for my whopping 8 minute experience. Wont be returning again. Go to Mikes!

Great atmosphere! Wish their app would move into this decade and add a few more features like letting you book times days in advance or book when the store is closed. Hard to fault the staff for technology, so overall once you get there it’s a great place for a haircut, the staff is friendly, the service is professional, and they’re fairly good about keeping your appointment +/-10 min.

High priced inconsistency. Ive been three times, and the third visit will be my last. That said, lets talk about what they did right-First visit, very welcoming, beer in my hand quickly, great haircut but pricey. Ran about $35 for my first visit plus tip, which is FINE because they created a great experience.Second trip, very welcoming, beer in my hand, snarky bartender but I kinda liked it. Sat down within a few minutes and washed/dry/styled. Note: I had two different stylist from visit 1 to visit 2 and they did a great job with minimal instruction on my hair. I have a typical military style haircut with length on top. Anyone can usually do a decent job.Now heres where it went downhill-The third and final visit is the killer- walked in at 12:01, signed in, sat down, wasnt offered a beer. Got a chair maybe a minute or two later (awesome!) and received a haircut by the manager. She did a good job on the sides and took a touch off the top. When I checked the top, I realized it had more length than I wanted and asked if she could take a bit more off the top. This seemed like a definitive inconvenience and the experience was running downhill quick. Her mind was definitely preoccupied with something else or she was in a bad mood, IDK. She took some off the top and my haircut looked like a semi-flat balloon shape but at that point I gave up, smiled and told her good enough. Walked to the bar/cashier, paid $27 dollars, still wasnt offered a beer and walked out of Tune-up at 12:18 so I paid a premium for... nothing really. I could get an equally okay haircut for less than half the price.Honestly, the biggest suck about it is the inconsistency. You really never know what kind of service or haircut youre going to receive. The stylist seem cool and most of them probably know what theyre doing, but $27 for a 15 minute haircut with no hair washing, styling or gel AND no beer?HUGE pass. Thanks for trying.

Very comfortable. Left looking as good as I couldve (think of Mr. CLEAN). Got the partial shave and haircut. Im pretty sure she shaved each follicle 1 by 1. Not that it was slow in anyway, just very deliberate!

Only one of the five employees were wearing masks so if youre not comfortable with that kinda service I wouldnt come here.

Brought my boyfriend in for the first time and it is by far the best place, hands down! Everyone is super friendly and always smiling. Yuri did an AMAZING job, not only with his hair, but his beard as well. They take pride in what they do and it most definitely shows. Keep up the good work, ladies! He will definitely be returning for another cut.

I’ve only been once but odds are I’ll return. Very nice and welcoming people. Ashley was quick with a high quality cut, It’s nice to see them take care of their customers but I was honestly disappointed due to the fact that I had to wait for my stylist to straighten her own hair before getting to me. Everyone else seemed diligent and quite friendly, aside from Ashley taking care of herself before the customer I was pleased with my experience.

The entire staff here is amazing, but one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met or had the privilege of having my hair cut by is Harlie. She’s witty, fun, caring, and does her job very well every time I visit. Whether it’s a quick cut or a long visit, she puts an equal amount of work into every visit regardless of the task. It’s rare that I find someone who I will continue to go to, since I have a very particular way of cutting my hair, but every week I find myself back in that same chair, listening to new jokes and sharing the new weeks experiences with her. She’s an amazing employee, woman, and friend and I recommend her to every single person who walks through that door.

Very nice staff, always welcoming environment plus they always have sports on and are always ready with an ice cold beer for you. I have been twice once for pedicure and once for haircut. Both were great only thing Ill say on the pedicure is I wish they would have taken more of the old skin off on my feet or gone deeper, but Im sure thats just me not really their fault. But all in all very happy with both visits.

I give hope 6 stars. She is the only one who takes time on my hair. The last time I went and she wasnt working some girl did my undercut hella fast and it ended up uneven and choppy, and didnt even show me the cut or ask me if it was okay.Hope made sure to get it right, and made sure I was happy with itI gave the salon itself 3 stars because it seems like they encourage fast cuts to move people along to be money grubby instead of doing it right.

I have been here probably a half dozen times or so and had different stylists. All were amazing and did a great job with the cuts and beard trims, along with getting a great drink. I love coming to this place and by far my favorite stylist is Kierstyn, Ive had her twice in a row and shes done the best with everything Ive gotten and couldnt ask for anything more. So if she is in and working Id highly recommend using her!

Hidden but fast and friendly

Tune up is amazing!! I will not get my haircut anywhere else. Yuri gets my cut right EVERY TIME!! I just tell her what I am going for and she gets it. So happy every time I walk out with a fresh cut. Absolutely recommend this place...also 2 free drink with your cut...not a difficult decision. 10/10.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The free beer with your haircut is pretty cool too. My barber really went above and beyond last time I was there to help me out with tips and advice. I will be coming back to this place for my next haircut, and then mad taco is right next door so I can get tacos too! What a killer combo!

I’ve been busy lately battling wild fires in Africa and haven’t been able to get a hair cut in the last month and a half. I walked in looking like Grizzly Adams. I could have won the look alike contest hands down at this point. Well between a giant bushy beard and patchy singed eyebrows(I got a bit close to the fires) I came to Harlie to bring my appearance closer to acceptable by societies standards. When I walked in she did not even recognize me, but by the end of the haircut I was a recognizable man! I came in looking rough, and I’m walking out looking fresh! I highly recommend Tune Up College Station for all your manly barber needs. I don’t go anywhere else.

This place gives the best cuts in college station. Fair price. Make sure you plan enough time to wait, because they only take walk-ins. The wait is nice though cause they will give you a free drink while you wait.

Ashely Jo does a phenomenal job, she is detail oriented and has a passion for what she does. The reason for the 2 stars is completely unrelated to the quality of the cut. I cant go in and get a wait that is less than an hour, the problem is there may only be 1 person in front of me. I have tried Monday and Friday, I have tried 11am and 1 pm. If your looking for a chill place to get a beer and a good cut, go for it. If you need to get in and out your setting yourself up for frustration. Im not much of a drinker(anymore) so the free booze doesnt do me any good. I just want to get a good haircut in an hour lunch break and go back to work.

1- They don’t smile.2- I don’t like your music.3- The barber went to answer the phone call while she was cutting my hair. I thought it was April fool.4- The mirrors are so nasty. They need to clean them up.5- You should be lucky I gave you 2 starts as I gave all barbers in college Station one star only.I don’t care if you serve food or drinks, I want high quality trained barber and super clean place with super clean equipment!

Used to be in the corps and don’t know much about hair styles. The staff are nice but don’t rly like the hair cut style they gave me. And don’t think they worth the price.

I’ve been getting my haircut here by Hannah Toukan for a while now and she is the absolute best! She gives me a beautiful fade on the back and sculpts my beard perfectly every time. The atmosphere is also great. Whoever thought of combining beer and a soothing haircut is a genius.

They do great. Get the VIP and walk past all the line,waiting and have a better experience. Make you feel important...I dont drink but they do offer a couple of drinks free. If you want them.

By far the best place in BCS. The hairstylists and barber they have on staff are attentive and caring and the services Tune Up provides are great! 2 complimentary drinks with each visit, and if you’re a quality over quantity type of guy, purchase the VIP Membership and skip lines or wait time, have your own bottle at the bar, and enjoy your visit 10x’s more! I’ve experimented with different styles over the past 4 years and they’ve all been great thanks to Yuri and her team!

What an awesome place! I always have a rough time trying to find somebody that can do a traditional mohawk and not screw it up and boy did they get it right. It was nice to have somebody take their time and make sure I got exactly what I wanted unlike other big named hair salons like sports clips, etc. that try to get you in and out as soon as possible. I will definitely go back here when Im in town.

Ive been here multiple times and Ive always had a great experience.. today i requested Ashlee because i was told shes best in shop. Average haircut last two times here. Rarely can you find a barber here, just stylists so if you want a good haircut with a straight razor around the edges go somewhere else. Keep your beer and alcohol and give me a good barber instead.

Ashlee Martakis at Tune Up College Station is wonderful. Shes been doing my husbands hair and beard for some time now. Every time he comes home after seeing her, he looks great. As long as she is there we will keep going there!

Some days wait time isn’t bad other days you will legit wait 2-3 hours. Cuts here aren’t very good no where near wait time and price tho. Fades aren’t even good they don’t have much experience. Will never be back.

I had one really good experience here and one awful one... Both barbers were very kind but after my most recent visit I left with my beard all kinds of screwed up. I was very explicit, I only wanted a quarter inch taken off the bottom. That part went fine, but then she went crazy with the electric razor and brought my beard line down a quarter inch. The right side of my face ended up significantly shorter than the left and looked much too thin as a result. She also made my mustache uneven.... The wait time is also abysmal. Ill be trimming at home only from now on. Nice eyebrow waxes though.

Joann does a great job, however, when checking in, I was told my son would be next. Three people people went before him. When I asked when he would be seen, I was told there were still two people still ahead of him. I asked the receptionist why I was told he was next when we checked in, she replied, “Oh, I don’t know.” 🤨 We’ve been waiting now 45+ minutes on a haircut in shop where it seems like they do not honor their word or other people’s time. Not a good experience.

I’m always greeted with a smile and a drink, sports on the TVs and a nice laid back atmosphere that makes waiting for Ashlee no problem at all. If you are a rugged man with a full beard who is unsure where to find a solid beard trim in College Station, look no further than Tune Up: The Manly Salon!I have had the worst luck with barbers moving away and I do not even trust myself to trim my own hirsute, but I am thrilled that I have found this new salon and could not be happier with my experience.Justice is the woman who trimmed my beard and she did a phenomenal job! Even if this is your first time getting a professional beard trim, after giving Tune Up a try, you will never go back to trimming yourself. As for me, I hope Justice doesnt move away.

Hair cut was good, but I was required to pay for 2 drinks and a shampoo even though I told them I dont drink or want a shampoo. I rode in on a motorcycle and the last thing I want to do is drink and ride especially in the middle of the day, but if it comes down to drink and ride or get ripped off, Ill take the drink. It is irresponsible to encourage drinking and and riding. I will not be back and I plan on strongly recommending that nobody else support such a scam.

Im going to start with the negative....I had to wait for alittle over 2 hours to get a haircut, because there was only 2 stylist working. Thats my only negative.The positive is that even during my wait the staff was very friendly constantly asking if I was good or needed anything. By the time I got into a chair it was an hour and a half past closing. Even so Rebecca kept on ensuring my that it was okay and to not to worry about it being so late. This was amazing and very welcomed. Also the hair cut was amazing and exactly what I wanted!

The quality of service is fair, but not worth the wait time. The staff is friendly, but does not seem to care about how long people wait. I have called ahead multiple times to check in and avoid waiting in the salon. Each time it seems as if whenever I call in it is merely a formality that is ignored. I have never been helped on time. Their appraised value of their haircut is not worth the time and price charged.

We waited two and a half hours for my boys to get their haircut (which turned out good).Besides that - my main complaint is the employee shaming in front of all the customers. Ladies we’re complaining about one of their co-workers (which has to at least be 8 month pregnant) not pulling her weight. Really...she’s about to go into labor for what looks like any day and all you’re doing is sitting around whining. Of course when she came back from lunch the ladies in the Salon were all buddy buddy as if they had said nothing. Grow up!This salon needs a TUNE UP!

Great music, you get greetings as you walk in. You have complimentary drinks. The employees are very nice, dont be afraid to talk to them. The service is really good. Good place to take your friends, dad, or brothers.

Ill preface this by saying that both times I have been here, this is one of the best haircuts you can get for men in College Station. However, the wait times are rediculous. This past visit, the app that they request you use to book an appointment had availability for a 1:45 pm time slot with four stylists working, one person in line and an estimated wait of 1 min. In actuality, two of the four stylists were seemingly on break for the entirety of my visit while the other two had to take on the load of the customers. So I get my hair cut 30 minutes after my designated time despite the estimated wait time of one minute. I get that each customer deserves attention, but these wait times andathe hours of operation do not make it feasible to get a haircut during the work week. I would advise somewhere else unless you exclusively get your haircut on the weekend and have an hour or more to use on a 20-minute haircut.

Went in and got my haircut a couple days ago nervous because i only let a specific person cut my hair for years and they recently moved away but I scheduled an appointment with ashlee and she was outstanding love the way my fade turned out i will definitely be back!

Very friendly people, excellent service. Rebecca did an amazing job getting my mop under control and looking good, plus she was able to tame my beard. I will definitely be coming back.

Good Idea, bad follow through-(Every Rant review was correct)Downloaded the app, and made an appt for 415PM, only 3-4 people there and 4 barbers. Lots of heavily flowing alcohol- so everyone is in good spirits, and the barbers/stylists seemed be doing a good job (hence the 2 stars) BUT- the process is horrible. Although I called and used the app for my appointment to book a particular stylist - I (and everyone else behind me) was nudged to change to first available . I obliged, and waited from 4PM to about 5:15PM, after the 4th or 5th person that came in behind me I asked about how much longer- the feedback was at least another 30 mins. I struggled to comprehend how my reservation would be 2 hours behind, especially with how slow they seemed. She informed that the VIPs come in and get the head of the line, so it wasnt predictable. Although this may be a good idea, and a good location, the service, communication and delivery fell very short.

The wait is extremely long. My husband said every time he goes and asks for the stylist he had last time that person no longer works there.If you have time to kill then this is a good place to go. If you want to get a haircut and go on with the rest of your day then sports clips is where you should go.We wont be going back here.

After a long day of work (starting at 6 am and finishing around 5:45) I made it to the barber shop at 6pm when they closed. Initially they told me that I couldnt get my hair cut and my $10 wild Uber trip was for nothing. I sat inside contemplating about when should I order my ride home when I was asked if Id like a drink. I calmly said No, Im having a long day and Im just waiting to go The young lady at the counter got the manager, and she came over and told me even though I was VIP, it didnt matter, I was not going to get my hair cut. I calmly told her that I was not upset or anything, I was just waiting on my ride and it is going to cost me to get home. I told her I understood the situation and I was not mad at her, just frustrated about coming so close and missing my chance. I reminded her she was the one who set my VIP account with a friend and I liked the place a lot. Id have to come later. Im not sure if I struck a cord or not, but she changed her mind and offered to cut my hair right then. I was having a very long day and that simple act of kindness made my day. The hair cuts are great. The inside is amazing. The people are understanding and kind. I was iffy about the membership, but now I know it was a good choice.

After sending an email to cooperate and posting on their Facebook page just to get told Ill recieve a call I never got about a bad experience, Im leaving my review here. Along with my message I sent to coperate:I am contacting you today in regards to my most recent visit to the College Station branch.I came in today with intentions of trimming the side of my beard and cutting the stragglers off the length of my beard, as well as a hair trim.My beard lenght was not to be cut down, just the longer hair here and there, then cut the side burns down. I ended up with about 4 inches of length off the lenght of my beard. While my sideburns were cut as I wanted them, my barber cut into my hair with the electric beard trummer and took a good chunch out.And to my dead ends that were cut from my hair (I am a male with long hair) an excessive amount was cut and turned into what I can describe as a long bowl cut.The length of my hair before was halfway down my back now barely crosses over my shirt line. As well as me not being able to fully put it into a pony tail for work now because of the length.I was also cut in two spots from the beard trimmer which drew blood on both my neck and my lips.With this last visit I am very dissatisfied and will not be returning.I was also wondering if there could be any possible way to get a refund.

If you have to go here to reinforce your ego then: youre not Manly. What a gimmicky place. Absolute mouth breather working the front counter. Inconsistent quality hair cuts. High turn over. Overpriced service. Nope, never again.
