I’m giving the place a 4 of 5 because I prefer to have face to face interaction. However I am extremely grateful for this program. I was angry with everyone but myself. It wasn’t until I heard the stories from others that I begin to see myself. I stopped blaming others and as Mr. Roberson would say started being accountable. Mr. Vince is the man down to earth and consistent. I would recommend this place to others.
This DUI class was very helpful as the instructors . Mr. Walker has really good techniques so you can better yourself, he also is a great teacher great with working with each of his students also in groups and Ms. Brown also great provides good help/advice thanks y’all. I would recommend this DUI school to anyone.
As we all can attest this pandemic has effected us all in some capacity. So I would like to thank the staff for doing a good job hosting virtual classes. Everything was flawless from the signup, weekly classes to receiving my completion letter. Mr. Greg did a great job at juggling the different personalities and situations. Mrs Brown handles so much but she was very patient and helpful.
This company is a joke. Stay away if u need services. More expensive than other places. Not professional. Wont answer phone. They will take your money. Wasted over 300. 00 dollars with this place
My two stars are for Mr. Greg & Mr. Robinson and the actual enjoyment of attending their classes. The classes are motivational and honestly are as useful as you make them. You can connect with peers and see different perspectives. Outside of that, this place is simply poorly managed. Its basically luck of the draw whether your experience will be smooth or not.Evaluations are standard, but be sure to pay attention to recommendations given. Know what you are signing up for and for any penalties if recommendations arent followed according to their policy. This should be done with any facility in this industry.Ms. Brown is the superior figure in the office (not sure if she is the owner but I believe she is) and for me, this is where you most likely will encounter dishonesty & delusion. My empathy leads me to believe that Ms. Brown is simply overwhelmed between the multiple facilities she oversees which causes an inability to efficiently communicate with attendees and most importantly, her staff.Whatever you do, make sure you communicate EVERYTHING to each and every person in charge or you could end up picking up their shortcomings like I did. Ms. Browns email address is useless. She never responds and I am not exagerrating. My recommendation: Any communication you have in regard to anything should be emailed to all staff for the sake of documentation, but if you want to actually ensure your inquiry/information is received, call and go in person.*If you miss any classes. Do not just inform the instructor. Inform any and everyone so that your ending is smoother than mine. As much as the instructors are amazing in their own right, everyone in this office is simply overwhelmed or the capacity is not there to properly document on their end. So if you tell them, they may forget to relay the message.Thankfully the necessary officials handling my case, on my end, were able to see through Ms. Browns effort to not take accountability for her oversights. I know this is only because I kept documentation of everything. Every receipt, every conversation, every time I stepped foot in this building, and anything in between. I promise this will save you if this is the place you choose. This place is no better or worse than the next. You have to remember that they are here to provide a service, make their money, and ensure their goals are met before anyone elses. Do your part and take what you can away.
My experience with Defying The Odds was revealing and honest. The staff is very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and present that knowledge to you in a way that ALL can understand. Mr Robinson, Greg and Ms Brown do not talk above you or below you, they approach you at your particular level without appearing to do so. If you are in need of help, this is the place for you. I would recommend Defying the Odds to my family and friends without hesitation. If I had to be critical of something, it would only be the parking situation. Its a little harry getting in and out of the lot. :0)
I had the privilege of attending this facility for 17 classes. The classes are great and you learn so much. Mr Greg and Mr Robinson are great at what they do and their knowledge is second to none. They give you time to speak as an individual and collectively as a group. The open discussions were always great and interactive. Ms. Brown at the front is also great at what she do. She does need help though you can tell she can be overwhelmed at times. I ask 3 wks in a row for updates for my classes, I couldnt get them because she was preoccupied. Its all good she is only human and take so much. The only criticism or feedback I can give is the time. We were a 10am class. Most days started almost 11 with breaks taking almost 30-45mins long. For a small facility like this, with the amount of treatments they provide they do need assistance.Overall great experience and I do thank you for your time.
I was referred to you guys via family member and was absolutely pleased with my service... I myself have referred others since my services.
24 weeks was enough but then again if i didn’t have to pay I’ll consider going for longer. It was a pleasure to be in that 24 weeks class at this facility. My Teacher was amazing. Robinson cared for us all and made sure he reassures is on how we are progressing. If you didn’t felt cared for on the outside world. You would be cared for once walking into this program. Recommendable!!
My last class was this weekend. All I can say is Amen. I am so proud our myself for finishing this program. I have a lot of help from the staff, classmates and my teachers. Mr. G and Mrs. Brown are awesome. I have already recommended this program to friends and family. Thank you for all that you have done for me.
Im not a big talker but if I an leave a review for dunkin donuts I can definitely leave one for them. I just want to acknowledge this place for a job well done. I was a little skeptical as we all can be when supporting black business but I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. This place help change my perspective on life and I am very appreciative. I am now gainfully employee and say I have brothers for life. Big ups to Mr. G, Mrs. B and the little pregnant girl (I forget her name. sorry). I appreciate you all.
Nice place to take your dui class and wonderful instructor, was fun and educative all through...
My experience with Defying the Odds was great. It has really helped me grow and get better as a person
The staff are very patient because they have to deal with a lot people with different personalities and different intellectual levels. Better them than me. But all in all my experience was good. I learned a lot about myself in 1 class and Mr. G is a good instructor!
Limited space in the women’s classroom but overall a very positive experience from beginning to the end. Definitely a place to better yourself. I am very appreciative of the ladies who kept my file together, their assistance with my issues and Mr. Greg but I will not be back. 😊
Do not go to this place. You will not get your documents on time or you may not get them at all. They are know for giving Individuals the round a around. Then they plan evil against you to hurt you when the true is told. When people do evil to you always remember.....When thou passest through the waters,The Lord Jesus Christ will be with thee;and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.Amen!!!
This was a blessing in disguise and i can say things happen for a reason. I am very thankful that good people still exist. My instructor Mr. G was very innovative in his approaches. We shedded some tears, had a lot laughs but most importantly he was a key player in my growth. I can not forget about Mrs. Brown. She is a tough little cookie but she is impressive. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.
10/10 Great Customer Service. I would highly recommend
Honestly the most unprofessional and uneducated business I’ve ever attended. I literally went to my second class and was so embarrassed I had to unenroll myself and start new some where else. The teachers are very nice but the women at the front desk the “evaluators” and “medical professionals” are the biggest jokes. I had my “evaluation” and the evaluator 1. Had her back to me the whole time and 2. Was on her phone the entire time but some how determined I was enough of a drug addict to have 8-12 weeks of classes. This place is a money scheme and should be shut down immediately. Just asking the woman at the front for my own records was a task in itself. She sucked her teeth and complained the entire time like I was a bother for her to do her job. Not to mention I had been waiting on these for two weeks and any time it was brought up she was completely disrespectful in giving a straight answer. I was punished for asking about my evaluation. If you want ghetto unqualified “professionals” to be evaluating you and stealing your money then I recommend this place. I was already down $200.00 and I’d just assume start New at a whole new location than continue here. If those rude women weren’t there I feel like this place could expand and become something worth while. The teachers are very nice I will admit. That’s why I give this place at least one star. Besides that it’s disgusting. My evaluation room was a crumb filled room with trash everywhere. Not to mention I had to ask specific questions related to the evaluation because it was such a vague questionnaire that sounded like it was written by the women at the front. They let past inmates have outbursts and talk on rants while distracting the class. Not to mention half the class is asleep.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Environment is very motivational and bathroom is well kept. Good job.
I was having a really rough day before I came into this establishment but I quickly checked myself. I witnessed so many disrespectful and entitled individuals walked through the door within a 45 minute span. It really made me embarrassed to be a black man. Honestly, if it wasnt for me having to wait my turn I couldve easily been that same dude. I am truly impressed by how these ladies dealt with these dudes.
Defying the odds is a good place where you can feel welcome. An establishment were to you can express yourself and feelings. A place where they teach you things that will help you out in life.
Always friendly and very professional staff, prices are reasonable, overall very great company.
I had a great experience here learned a lot about anger and how not to let others control your anger because there in a bad place Ms. Brown and Mr. Robert are very helpful and every way over all a great place to take your classes and gain helpful knowledge to help with everyday life situations
Defying the Odds helped bring to light the trouble with behavior Id normalized in years up to entering their program -- In the Risk Reduction course, I learned the science behind changes in mind and body over years of abuse. Weekly ASM meetings became a time and place of great reflection for me, where I gained an objective sense of self I didnt know I lacked before. Entering the program, I really didnt think I had a problem, but in time I realized, and by the end I was fundamentally changed. I wouldnt trade the experience for anything.
When I spoke to the lady who answered the phone she was very friendly and made me laugh. That isnt very common when dealing with these type of situations but very much needed. Thanks for making my day girl!
Fast & easy
Mr. Robinson is a great instructor, their fees are very reasonable also.
The staff are professional. I can appreciate having a place like this to help uplift us and teach us alternatives.
Great place, just cant look at it as a punishment.
