The worst experience ever. They canceled 60% of their flights. No phone call or email to let me know in advance. Lost money 3× in uber fees. No compensation for time loss or money lost. Stranded at the airport with no answers! Good lord, if Soul Plane was an airline. Very disappointed and no one gave 2....blanks. Never again!!!!
They airline is a rip off!!! They charge for damn near breathing the air in the airplane but then don’t want to give customer service or fix their mess ups. I.e. changed my flight for a cheaper flight. I had to ask if I was getting credited back, in which they informed me that YES I do have a credit and that they would email me. After a week of waiting I called 3 times, finally I just asked them could they just apply it to my bags for each ticket round-trip at $46 the rep said no problem. Confirmed the total bags reconfirmed only to find out day of flight they charged me for only 3 checked bags —-reason being is with the rep the cost is $60 not the $46. On a recorded line they lied and refused to fix the problem. Whackest airline and their pilots act like they are earning permit time to get their real license.Pay the extra to go with someone else. This airline is trash in the air.
My flight was very comfortable and the pilot was amazing! Smooth landing and we even arrived 45 min early! I love spirit!
Make sure that you rent your own car, straight from the agency. Otherwise you need high credit score to rent a car through spirit.

Awful! The quality of there service has really declined! Our flight was late because first, they took too long cleaning the plane. Then, we sat for an extra hour because they didnt have the baggage paper work . They told us four times well be leaving in a little bit, yeah right! We were supposed to get to Detroit at 11:55. We arrived at 12:40. It took another 40 minutes for baggage to be placed on the belt. On top of that, the stewardesses talk too much to each other and get attitudes when they talk with the customers. Spirit has to do better.
They used to be the best small carrier. I never would have thought that were nickel and diming customers. You are messing with peoples livelihood. When someone purchases a ticket you dont expect to go to the airport and pay another $250 on top of the ticket price. After taking a trip or vacation you may run into other unexpected expenses. No one wants to feel like they maybe stranded in a city that is 12 hours ( driving time ) away from their home. Congress hasnt bothered to out law any of this you should be ashamed. Increase your price but treat your customers right.
Ill say that I love Spirits prices. Customer service is getting better. They charge for everything but the loooowwwwww prices off set that and I still end up cheaper than the big carriers.Sooo Im good with Spirit.

You are paying for a flight, nothing more. If you want certain “luxuries,” this isn’t the airline for you. You will be charged for everything except breathing, thinking and relieving yourself. If you’re flying domestic, it’s a great alternative to some of the pricer companies who essentially provide the same service, why pay extra. It’s akin to taking an Uber and paying $30 vs getting a limo and paying $200. You’re going to the same place and the same mode of transportation. I’m not sure if they are international or not but I’d highly advise against sitting on their planes for longer than four hours, you will not be pleased.

I like Spirit because I can build my trip depending on my needs and budget. Short trip? I only need a small bag. Longer trip? I have the option of paying for an additional bag or more leg room. If the cost increases to the price of an all-inclusive airline, maybe Ill choose the latter. Just always take the time to research so there are minimum surprises.
They try, its the revenue model that makes traveling feel generic. $3 for a coke. $48 for a carry on. Ugh. In college I would fly AirTran x-fares. SPIRIT is almost the same, except you have a confirmed seat.
1st time flying!! Flew with spirit! My window seat couldve been cleaned better, flight attendants were awesome, made me feel very comfortable. Seats need more space though omg! But all around great experience 😎

Dont be fooled by there cheap prices, there customer service is nonexistent. I hope they go out of business soon. Overall, with all there fees and what not I ended up spending more with them then I would have with delta. Also they allowed my brother and my father to board the plane but they held me back telling me that I could not print my boarding pass both times. When I asked the why, they said I have to rebook my flight. I was not even late I had a whole hour until boarding time and they would not even let me catch my flight. I had to rebook with delta instead in frustration with these people. My advice is dont ever fly with these people. Any other airline is much better than them. This is the worst customer experience Ive ever had when traveling.

The WORST! If I could give 0 stars I would! They cancelled my flight and hour before departure and couldnt get me on another flight for the next 3 days! I had to cancel my reservation and book with another airline, because I couldnt afford to miss 3 days out of work. So stressful.

Frontline medical worker has concerns for passengers and sanitation process on Spirit. Spirit Flight Attended refused to assist in the sanitizing of passenger seat after another passenger was premitted to seat in the seat while the airline figured out the other passengers flight issue. Flight attended also stated he had nothing to sanitize the seat with. Which raised many questions for me especially being in a pandemic.Flight attended was a caucasian male aging 50-70 years of age. Flight attended told me that I could sanitize the seat and noted I could get off the plane to retrieve wipes from wipe canister to clean my seat. I briefly note, the lack of customer service and attended then continued to want to argue his point.The flight attended was unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional in verbal response and behavior. The situation could have been handled in a more professional manner. My husband got off the plane to get wipes and cleaned our our upgraded seats. We received no apologize from none of staff concerning the behavior or seating situation. I pray this is not the service that Spirit customers receive but if so I hope Spirit will improve the customer service of their in flight attends just like medical workers had to adjust and work hard to ensure the safety and care our patients. You wouldnt want to admit to a hospital in an unclean bed of another person would you? Of, course not. I understand todays times bring many stressor but it does not excuse the lack of care and professionalism. I pray this flight attended does better in the future.Thank you

I paid for a flight and the plane never arrived it was about 50 of us looking like lost children. Then spirit had the nerve to want to charge us $100 to rebook us on their mess up.
**** UPDATE**** The customer service team looked into the details of what happened and has given us a free flight voucher!Was at the ticket desk an hour before departure with a friend and was told it was too late to board. They rescheduled for the next day. Got stuck in traffic in the way there so we tried calling customer service to reschedule but even with 3 people calling couldnt get a person to answer and then after an hour on hold they just hung up. Finally got a response from them 3 HOURS LATER on messenger only to be told it was too late to reschedule and they dont do refunds. Thanks for taking my money and giving me high blood pressure Spirit.

Terrible. Lost my luggage and still in the process of trying to find it. Baggage services been helpful but Spirit airlines is straight trash. Agents be having attitudes for no reason. If you dont want to work with the public, dont accept job offers working with the public.

This is my second time in 8 years flying this airline! Never again it is better to pay more then fly on this airline! The first time I got stuck in Chicago for 5 hours because they did not have a crew for the flight!!! Today I’m stuck in Atlanta because they changed my flight and did not send me notification as they claimed!!! Now it’s going to take me 8.5 hours to get home! My flight was at 3:23pm (non stop) hour flight!! Now I’m stuck here until 6:45pm with a 2 hour layover in Fort Lauderdale! I will not make it home until 1:00 am !!!! If I could give this airline a negative 10 I would!!!!!

I don’t fly spirit. My fried s said it’s called spirit because it takes spirits. Coming to Atlanta the Plane almost couldn’t take off . It took off and touched back down about 5 times . Meaning the plane was toooo heavy to fully take off. Sad and dangerous. Never again.

Plane was ridiculously dirty. With Covid, you would think they are cleaning more. The trays and seats were nasty and there was a stain on the floor.
I was going to write a very good review to show my experience in flying with Spirit today. However I have changed my mind. The flight this morning started off good. Flight was on time, the seat spacing seemed better as the seats seem new, and they werent that bad for comfort. My return flight not so good. The flight was canceled due to weather. What airline completely cancels a flight, leaving people stranded? And over some rain? The next available flight was two days later,... Nothing was provided or offered as to help with a place to stay or anything. I had to cancel my flight and hurry to buy another ticket with another airline just so I can get home. Glad I had the money available. Not to mention last minute flight are triple the normal cost. So I want to say Thank You Spirit for completely taking my day that wasnt going so well and make it worse. I hope someone reads this and takes into account that you get what you pay for. Im not going to say that I will not ever fly with Spirit again, but I will make sure that there is no storm as it seems that a few raindrops or a storm that was passing over can ground a plane but yet we are still allowed to drive in our cars. At the very most, the flight should have been delayed, not Canceled.

Got to the check in kiosk 1hr before flight the machine could not locate my reservation, after asking for help (now its 50min before flight) had to get online wait for agent she has trouble locating reservation (now its 44min before flight) she looks at me and says sorry you cant check in the flight already started boarding. I literally wind up standing at the gate and watching my flight leave because I checked in 30min before flight. I was at the gate before flight left wound up having to reach my destination 10hrs latter, and I was not the only person flight attendant told me only 5 people were on the plane, really Spirit 😠😠 like everyone else said you get what you paid for.
NEVER NEVER NEVER rely on this company! Unless you want your trip to be SCREW UP! They send an email about dealing the flight more than an hour and then put it back on time 30 minutes priorly, making people lose their flight! And no options are offered! Never had such a horrible experience in my life!
Ground crews/terminal representatives appeared to be very good at their jobs. Pilots seem like the grumpiest people on the planet. Cabin crew appears to be the bottom-of-the-barrel with regards to skills and personality. First time in my life Ive flown Spirit - will be the last as well. The workers on the ground are the only reason this isnt a one star review.

Worst airline experience ever. They wont even reschedule flights over the phone. Lady told me I had to buy a new ticket. When I spoke to the woman at the terminal, she asked me if I wanted to reschedule the flight. If I had believed the woman on the phone, I would have purchased another non refundable ticket. Pay the extra money and fly with someone else for peace of mind.
Cheap fairs on flying but you might want to put your bags on another flight
I was a little upset at first when I was trying to get my 15 year old on the plane. Wanna wouldnt let me walk him through security and she rushed him off without letting him give us a hug good bye but when another staff realized he was a minor she had us go to ticketing and get a gate pass. We were able to go through security with him and right to his gate to watch him fly away :)
Our flight got delayed until 3 am and we got meal vouchers for 14 dollars but everything was closed so we couldn’t use them? We then called customer service and their supervisor both were very very u helpful and would not even let us use the vouchers on flight food. Unbelievable especially when customer service tells us they have no info on food vouchers and also did not have corporates number. Ludicrous never flying again.

Wish there was a zero rating. The delays were due Spirit having to fly pilots in from California to Atlanta. After the third delay, they board us just to have us wait on the aircraft for over an hour. Trust me if you are doing a round trip from Tampa,FL to GA. Drive, you will save money and time...remember time is the most valuable treasure we have.
Spirit airlines, aka Greyhound airways, is a budget no frills airlines. Their slogan should be - “You get what you pay.” I like the no frills concept and a la carte style of just buying a seat and paying for extras. Unfortunately, Spirit poorly executes this model almost every time I fly. In the past few years, I have flown over 20 times on Spirit usually for short weekend get aways. There have been issues on almost every flight. At a minimum, expect delayed flight and waiting on taxiway for an open gate. I will fly again because it is cost effective and I have adjusted my expectations accordingly. You really do get what you pay for.

Wouldnt give this joke of an airline a star if I had a choice. My 2 hr flight turned into a five hour flight. Cookies and bad jokes by the rude flight attendant were offered to make us feel better. Brand new luggage looked 5 years old when I got it from baggage claim. I FORGOT TO MENTION I STOOD THERE FOR ANOTHER 1HR WAITING MY LUGGAGE

Always delays. The latest is a 5 hour delay where I wasn’t warned about until I gate to the gate and it keeps getting delayed another hour every hour. Seats don’t recline. Have to pay extra to sit with whoever you booked your ticket with. I understand it’s cheap but come on.Then a 6 hour delay, told us the plane had landed, then 15 minutes later cancelled the flight. Every other flight was booked that weekend.
I arrived 45 minutes before my flight in Atlanta, Georgia to Fort. Lauderdale, Florida and was told I could not get on my flight that I missed my flight. My flight was at 10:10 a.m. and I arrived at 9:27 a.m. The ladies at the counter were so rude that they did not even want to help me. I was told I can get on a flight the next morning. Which was not going to work since I have a child to get home to and a job to be to in the morning. They did not try to help me or get a manager for me when I asked for one. There Customer Service skills sucked so bad that they should not have that position. I called the customer service number and was told that I could not get a refund. I had to pay and book my ticket with southwest, just so I can get home to my child and Mother on Mothers day. I am very unhappy with Spirit airlines with the way I was treated at the airport and on the phone. I will never ever in my life travel again with Spirit. This is by far the worst company ever and never been treated so unprofessionally by the ticket counter. I now know why Spirit has a bad reputation for the worst airline to fly with. They have truly lived up to there bad name. I most likely wont get my money back for my trip since I have to wait for the Corporate office to determine if they can give me a refund or a voucher for another ticket. I missed my flight this morning. I then left and called to see what my next step would be to move forward. Ive never flown before. I was told I would have to come back up there in person. So I did. I spoke to a man named Kenneth at the Spirit airline counter. I was told all I had to do was pay $99.00 and I would be able to take a later flight. I have a daughter who isnt even two and the next available flight wasnt until tomorrow am. Because it wouldnt be until the next day, I asked if I could pay online because I had to have the money sent to me and didnt know I would have to pay a fee right then and there. I was told i could pay it online. Now Im stranded clear across the country with my daughter and nothing or no way to get back due to their lack of information and knowledge for company policy. Im currently in a detrimental situation when all that needed to happen was this Spirit employee tell me I could not pay online. I would have stayed there or just came back in person before the deadline I was given for the payment. Im seriously considering calling the news. Ive been given the run around and all they have done was apologized. This airline is tragic and absolutely unbelievable. Im now going to have to ride a bus across the country for over a week with my baby.

My first experience of a delay, and it was horrible! But maybe I shouldnt complain 🤔 it was only 4 hours late, leaving at 2:30am. Once I arrived to my transfer location, no one could provide me with the updated flight info, due to the first delay. After 30 minutes of searching, I find out my next flight wont leave for another 8 hours 🤦🏿♀️ causing me to miss my next event. But thankfully I could afford to get a rental, to drive myself to my daughters college function. Mommy saved the day! But ya.. for all the hassles when it comes to Spirit, itd prob be easier to spend a little more and go with some of the other airlines 🤷🏿♀️ unless you just truly need to save money.
TLDR: super late departure, varying stories about why, made us change gates several times, awful communication with passengers, unprofessional staff.To preface, I realize that criticizing a company that safely managed to transport me through the atmosphere several thousand miles in a short period of time might seem out of place. But that’s not the part I have a problem with.Long story short, we ended up changing gates twice (once to a distant concourse) and departing several hours after our initial boarding time. And even then, I understand that things a happen that can reasonably put a flight behind schedule. The biggest issue was how the airline handled it.There was zero main-channel communication with ticket-holders. After the second gate change, there was no confirmation through the app, via email, via terminal postings, or from Spirit staff that passengers were at the correct gate - a necessary reaffirmation given that we had been directed to a gate that was marked and branded for a different airline.After sitting for an hour or more at the third gate we had been directed to, the first Spirit representative arrived at the gate kiosk. She offered no information for passengers. She insisted that she was the only rep for the airline at the airport at the time (which by now was past 2:00AM for an 11:59 flight). Many passengers had already missed their connection and simply wanted to remove themselves from the flight.At nearly 3:00AM, the captain arrived and offered a very brief explanation that weather had delayed us. While that’s a reasonable explanation, it conflicted with information given from several other channels: the airline told one passenger via phone that “irregular unloading procedure” had delayed our aircraft from being disembarked prior to our flight while another employee told us that a different aircraft was malfunctioning in our originally-assigned gate. Via social media, they told my wife it was a staffing issue.Whatever the real cause for delay was, I’m sure it was reasonable. But communication would have helped everyone. Even after boarding, my e-boarding pass still indicated the flight was on-time to leave at 11:59.Beyond that, the aircraft cabin was not a pleasant place. The cabin announcements from the captain were inaudible, the attendants were unprofessional, and the cabin itself was unkept and wrought with food crumbs and trash. In chatting with disembarking passengers before us from a different flight, I learned their experience was similar. One person even shouted to passengers waiting to embark “If you can, turn around and book a different airline. Don’t get on this airplane!”This will be my last time flying with Spirit.
Every airline company charges for snacks and drinks thats hidden in the ticket price and at least Spirit airlines charges the bare minimum ticket price and just charges you for drinks and snacks up front- and they have a good menu. To check-in luggage and carry-on luggage is pricey but then again other airlines charge a lower amount but tickets are also way more expensive than Spirit airlines so Ill continue to use this airline to fly. The flexible ticket prices have allowed me to see my family when I wouldnt have normally been able to do so because of finances.
I booked a flight last year to see how the “cheap” airline experience was and I was not impressed. Was impressed with the low cost tickets until you have to pay for just showing up, taking on carry on bags, getting window seats, getting better seats towards the front or even if you want a drink. The onboarding process was a joke.To book the flight, they charge you a $69.00 membership fee and they also renew the membership each year without letting you know. When you go to the automated line to cancel or complain you can’t get a real operator. All automated operators.When you finally stay on line and go through several automated operators and about 10 minutes later, you’ll see a number that gives you information on the credit card charges. You have to log on line to Spirit Airlines and spend 10 minutes looking for your account information and even when you do find it, you have to find the very small print at the bottom that shows you how to cancel your membership. Even then it asks you 3 or 4 times if you want to cancel and even makes it easier to stay a member by throwing up pop up boxes for you instead of just letting cancel and exit.In the day of cheap flights, I’ll take “customer service” over cheap any day.
Its convenient for when youre first booking a ticket, it seems like youre getting a really great deal on a flight. Once you pay for your baggage and everthing else they overcharge for, you might as well had paid for a ticket with a better airline.
