Was extremely pleased with H&R representative who displayed timeliness, professionalism, and knowledge. Preparation was done expeditiously and I received refund within the week. However, a score of 4 was given because I felt H&Rs fees were somewhat higher than other quotes received.

H&R Block helped me prepare my taxes and availed me of all legal exemptions I was entitled to. I appreciate the knowledge and professionalism of their tax preparers.

Overall, he paid this establishment for his taxes to handled by a tax professional but what he received was terrible customer service! He or I will never return. No one seems to know what they are really doing. Such a bad experience. They need to be fully updated on IRS new procedures. My husband had to do an amended return because the paperwork was done wrong the first time. After speaking with the District manager, she instructed for us to wait a month to file an amended return. She stated she was going to set him up with someone that knows what they are doing and will correct his return. After a month gone by, we called in to set up an appointment. The guy that helped us was lost and his accent was way too strong to understand. He didnt seem to understand the situation after explaining why we are back in again. After explaining several times, the guy finally somewhat understood the situation, so he proceeded to do an amended return. After weeks have gone by, my husband didnt receive a refund. I decided to call but called a different H&R Block in Clinton, MD. I explained my husbands situation. She researched and saw that the guy did not do an amended return. She stated something along the lines of he put it in as a what if, he didnt actually do the amendment, he should have gave you something to mail in. We werent aware that an amended return needs to be mailed in; therefore that visit a month ago was a waste of my husband and I time.

Failed to keep 2 appointments. Either had to wait for an hour or asked to reschedule.They at least got better finding my documents because both times they claimed I never brought anything in. They also tried both times to persuade me I didnt.Twice was told my taxes will be completed. First time my documents where never removed from my folder. Second i came to sign and the state wasnt done.Why am I spending almost 400 dollars on this? Ill just use Turbo Tax.

I went to this location to file my taxes on 2/1/2020. My tax preparer was about 25 minutes late to our appointment but I let that go due to it being a bit nasty outside. She completed my taxes and I was somewhat satisfied. Federal taxes went through no problem. I was assured all information was gathered and that I just needed to wait on my returns... well my state taxes never went through.. it took THREE WEEKS for anybody to contact me back and figure out why my state taxes were rejected.. amanager called back and tried to convince me that it was DCs fault and that the preparer would call me back... preparer calls me back the next day to tell me my taxes were rejected because she forgot to add my landlords information for one of my state tax credits... this is information I specifically pulled up and gave to this preparer the on my initial visit... Low and behold DC sends me an email that my taxes were accepted not even a few hours later.... now I have to wait an extra 3-6 weeks to wait on my return thanks to sloppy customer service... I usually do my own taxes each year with no rejections.... and next year I will return to doing my own taxes...I paid almost $300 for work I could have done myself for less than half of that price... HR Block will never get me like that again.

Worst and horrible HR BLOCK. Do not go to this office. I call everyday for the almost a month and never till you the problem until the last minute. I go three tax preparer that that don’t know what they are doing. The worst is the manager and front desk. I think they want to file for extension to they will get money for it. I have been with H&R block for almost my entire adult life and never have I seen as bad of service as I have at this branch. I had an appointment for 5pm and almost an hour later, I was still sitting there and told to wait.Why schedule me for 5pm if youre not going to follow through? Its okay if that time slot doesnt work for you guys, but dont schedule me for that time slot then. Such a simple concept. Incredibly unprofessional.Do yourselves a favor and go to another branch.

It was very convenient for me because Im not 100% confident with trying to file & prepare my own taxes. I needed to speak with someone that was knowledgeable about tax issues, etc.

Well...a professional who had great reviews was suppose to work on my taxes last week stop replying to me...one week later and still no answer. I was giving them another chance since I had a bad experience years ago...but...I’m officially done with H&R Block. I’m glad to see that some people had an okay experience....smh

I went in to have an amendment to a prior years tax return and the person was unprofessional and rude. She did not listen to where I needed the amendments. She just kept telling me I didnt fill out the right forms the first time. Thats why Im seeking a professional. Or that I didnt bring in the correct forms. She would have seen them in the packet I provided if she looked first. She seemed like she was making excuses to not do the amendment. She could have just said that from the beginning. Eventually after going back and forth with this lady I asked her to give me my paperwork back. Her attitude changed then but I will not spend my hard earned money with someone who is rude and unhelpful. I expect more from my fellow businesswomen. Would never visit this location again.

I have been using H&R Block as my tax preparer for over a decade. This was the first time coming to this location, and never again. I came in on July 12th and was given Annette Thomas to prepare my taxes. Ms. Thomas seemed knowledgeable because she detected an issue with my previous tax returned. While she warned it would be last minute, she expressly stated that shed have them completed by the 15th. My husband and I gave her our contact information and told her to call if she had questions. Well, on the 14th I called b/c we had not heard from Mrs. Thomas, and was unsuccessful in reaching her. I called on the morning of the 15th to ascertain when we could come by to sign and file our taxes and still could not reach anyone in the office. I went to the Office and people were standing outside the door trying to get in to discuss their taxes. I got in and saw Mrs. Thomas who told me in passing that Id have to file for an extension at 2:45 p.m. i had never filed for an extension, so I asked her how to do that, and she gave me the form. Now had I not stopped into the office, when was she or H&R Block going to advise me that my taxes werent prepared and that Id have to fike for an extension? Ms. Thomas then told me shed have them completed in another two (2) day . I called on Friday and was told that Ms. Thomas was out, and I left a message for her to please return my call. She nor anyone from that office called.On Sunday, July 19th I called H&R Block and told them what had occurred and it advised that the Clinton office was now closed and Ms. Thomas would not be returning until January 2021. I asked about my tax information and they advised that all information had been transported to the Temple Hills/Marlow Heights Office. On Monday July 20th I called the Temple Hill/Marlow Heights Office and spoke to someone about retrieving ny tax information to have them prepared by someone else and was transferred to Ashley ? Who advised that the information from the Clinton Office was not transferred to their office yet. When I asked when will it be transferred she said I will call you when we have it. I asked again when will they have it, and she said I will call you when we receive iy and hung up. I have been calling these folks and I have been getting the run around. I am not sure if they were overwhelmed by COVID-19 or its just the lack of professional extended to African American customers in an African American county, but this was it for me. They ALL need phone etiquette and customer service training in that order.DO NOT USE AT ALL!
