We have used Volunteer Rid A Pest for the past five years and couldn’t be more happy with their service. Our technician, Kellen Pickle, is always so courteous, on time and very thorough in his work. He is never pushy and doesn’t try to sell a service we do not need!! Definitely a satisfied customer and would recommend them to anyone needing a pest control company.

Each year, we have our cabin treated for carpenter bees. This year, we had to ask our pest controller to retreat because there were still bees boring into the logs. The pest controller did not state there would be any additional cost for the pretreatment; however, we received a bill from Volunteer Rid a Pest for $125 in addition to the amount that was paid 2 months prior. We contacted the billing office and never received a response after multiple attempts. At our next monthly service for mosquitos, we inquired about the charge and the pest controller advised it was a billing error and should be waived for retreatment. Then again, we received another bill for the carpenter bee treatment. We called the billing office again and after multiple attempts, connected with a representative who advised us to talk with the pest controller about the bill. I advised that I did and he stated the bill would be waived. Then the billing representative advised me that the pest controller supposedly informed us that we should pay the bill. I was very disappointed in the blatant disregard to honor our agreement for no charge, and furthermore, placing the customer in the middle of the dispute between the billing office and pest controller. I will no longer have service by this company because business practices should be trustworthy and the customer should never be placed in the middle of a billing dispute with the office and pest controller. I asked for the owner, Eric Gardner, to contact me. I am still waiting for a call back.

They are not doing any better then I did my self. I should have stop a year ago.

We were referred to Volunteer Rid-A-Pest through a contractor. Scheduling was easy! Also, Daniel was very thorough and took his time going over the entire house. Very dishonest.In front of my Dad and I... pest control guy said no termites!!! Then need termite letter for bank closing and all of a sudden it has termites....and needs 1400 worth of spray and treatment.... and the bill is no longer 45.00 but rather almost 1300.00 .... closing date pushed back to later date to get an honest opinion. Seems very sketchy. I will not use again. I can’t believe this company has 4.5 stars. Must be fam and friends cause I will not ever be a customer again. Buyers and realtors beware.

We just had our house built and came upon an ant problem. These guys put covers on their shoes before they enter your house🙌 One of my biggest pet peeves is shoes on in the house. I usually feel very uncomfortable with anyone in my house especially when my husband isn’t home but that wasn’t the case with these guys. Very professional and informative. Highly recommend!!

I have used Volunteer Rid a Pest for several years. I have recommended them to many people for pest control, mosquitoes and I even had my son and his college roommates use them in Chattanooga for rat control. (ugh). I have only had to call one time over the years to have them re-treat my home. My serviceman at the time (Alex) was there the very next day to take care of things. A few months ago my son, Kellen, was given an opportunity to work for Erik at Volunteer Rid A Pest. There is nowhere I would rather him be working. He is surrounded by dedicated workers and works in a Christian atmosphere. I would have completed this survey whether I had a son working there or not, because I believe they are the best. Not only are they local, honest, affordable and friendly, they are GOOD. I have recommended them for years and will continue to do so.

Kinda costly but well worth it

Whitney is an awesome technician. He ensures all areas have been treated and takes the extra steps to help us eliminate unwanted pests at our work site. He even comes back outside of his quarterly visits to rid our environment of larger-sized pests that create a better work environment!

After the experience my husband and I had, I am actually surprised that coming to the reviews showed all 5 stars. Im not sure what happened with us, or if these may be people they know or something, because we had a terrible experience.The guy that came out was really friendly, even though he was late and didnt even bother calling. Our agreement was for common household pests, with the main concern of spiders and carpenter ants. We also let them know we had a mouse chewing up everything and showed them the couple spots where we saw droppings. They sprayed a ton of spray around our mobile home and placed traps down. My husband also told them that he needed to fill a couple holes up, that the mouse may be getting in at, but the pest control tech stated that he would do that, it is part of the job. Everything sounded great.The guy was supposed to come back to do the filling of holes, because he didnt know and didnt have his items. That is not a problem at all. On the day he was supposed to come back, the tech was once again late and no calls. My husband had to text them, asking if they were still on the way. This guy sprayed again and filled up the holes (or so he said), but when we looked afterwards, the hole my husband pointed out, was still there. My husband then texted again, letting them know and they said they could be back out on such and such day. I waited around the house that day, but no one came by. Then, he said he would be back in the area on another day, but once again didnt come by. I told my husband that this is very poor service, and I do not want to stay in a contract with someone that is going to no show or be late every time. He called the office and told them he wanted to cancel services and explained why. The lady in the office was sweet, but she said she was the only one that answers phones and had to let us go. This was on a Friday, and by Monday, we had a check for $85 in the mail. I asked my husband, why didnt the manager or owner even try to call and save us or apologize. I guess he didnt want our money or the job was too much for them? My husband worked for Orkin, Terminex, and a pest control service local to another state, so he has a lot of background in this field and said this would never fly at any of those places, but the services was also more money as well. I guess it is worth it, to have your problem solved right, because as of right now, we found out the mouse was actually a rat, which we told them, it completely ate through a bunch of our stuff and we just spent the whole weekend throwing a lot of things away and sanitizing and bleaching everything, the carpenter ants came back in full force and the spiders are still thriving just fine and have made lots of new webs in all our window seals and outside the house. It has only been about 2 weeks, maybe going on 3 since they sprayed last, too. Also, we did not get the extra $25 for them not doing their job in the first place.
