Im pretty good with computers, so when I had a data accident, I did everything I could, but the hard drive had a hard failure. My only option was to let the professionals handle it, which is an ultimate last resort for me. I contacted Jonathan Nguyen and he got me all set up. I had little hope, and anxiously awaited the email telling me that my data was unrecoverable, but just a few days later, Jonathan emailed me to inform me that my data could be recovered! Once I authorized the recovery, it took about a week until I got the email with the list of files recovered, and it was all there! I dont usually write reviews, but this service literally saved 10s of thousands of pictures, including 3 years worth of overseas living and travels. Dont make the same mistake I did, back up your important data, in multiple places, including the cloud (services such as smugmug for photos and video are excellent). Hopefully you will never need to worry about losing your data, but if you do, these guys can help you out.

My name is Bobby Hurman, and I am the Director of Technology and Operations for a coastal city and the owner and operator of PrismTechTx LLC. A technology sales, repair, and consulting company that specializes in small business operations and residential clientele.Last year, at the end of October, my home caught fire and completely destroyed everything that I had worked so hard for over the last 15+ years. Adding to this, my mother was hospitalized for nearly a month, and I got cut up pretty bad barely escaping out of a broken window. As this tragic set of events started to sink in over the next few days, I realized in this substantial loss, that my Synology DS1512+ NAS data was at least the one possible material possession I could restore. I dug through charred and disfigured remains of the area where the RAID 5, 5-disk NAS should have been. What I found was a physically and severely damaged piece of equipment. Looking at it, I wasn’t too hopeful that my nearly 9 terabytes of data in this SoftRaid would be recoverable. To the engineers that did the recovery, if I had the option to tip a pitcher of the finest craft beer in your area, I would have taken it.P.S: To avoid this process and its associated uncertainty in the future, I suggest you a) use a Mac product and take advantage of the Time Machine feature, b) get a personal cloud device where you can set up your own data backup (e.g. synology) c) use a cloud data service. It is very likely that will be cheaper than having to confront a data recovery, but if you do, SDR worked for me.

My CPU crashed. I took it to a big box store for their advice and was told it was over their head. I then took it to a local shop and was told the same. One day, I could access my data on my SeaGate 1.0 TB External Hard Drive. The next day, I could not. I was devastated. I’ve been dealing with Eric Dvorin from Secure Data Recovery from the Cleveland, OH location from 09/17/20. I had shipped out the hard drives (with my own shipping label) and it arrived the next day at their location. The email respondence was decent and then it started to lack drastically. It took them a couple days to let me know their findings, however, for one of the drives they stated that they were still working on it. I had to email asking what the status of the third drive was, as I was not getting frequent updates. You would think with a highly recommended company that their customer service will be much more on point. We still required further information on the third drive, and we had questions for the engineer. We had asked Eric if he could put us in touch with one of the engineers, as we had questions that he could not answer, to no abide he did not have any one reach out to us. We had spoken to him on the phone several times and had also asked if we could speak to an engineer while on a call with him. The information he was giving us and the questions we had asked, it seemed as if he lacked knowledge. On 11/04/2020 I had stated that I want two of the three hard drives shipped back to me. On 11/05/20, I approved an over-night shipping label and expected it to arrive in the mail the next day. There was no follow up or anything from Eric Dvorin about whether or not he sent my two hard drives back as requested. I checked on the Fedex website only to find out that it was never sent out. I tried calling Eric several times but reached his voicemail. I emailed him on 11/12/20 letting him know that I had not received the drives… WHAT IS THIS COMPANY DOING???!!! When a customer requests for something to be sent back, you send it back – you do not wait further because you want to decide for them! COMPLETE DISRESPECT FOR ACKNOWLEGEMENT. On 11/12/20 Eric emails back letting me know that he wants to know about the third hard drive…AGAIN, I asked for two of the three hard drives to be sent back – why was it so difficult to proceed as requested?! On 12/03/20 I had called Eric and left a voicemail and emailed him requesting a supervisor contact information. Eric did not return my call, I had to go through another representative ( which he was somewhat helpful as he provided Eli – The manager’s extension number and let me know he will reach out to Eli for him to give me a call). Eli emailed me on 12/04/20 stating that this was brought to his attention. I have requested the director or principal’s information a few times – 6 times to be precise from both Eli and other representatives from a location in Atlanta – Both failed to provide me with the details. If there is something is needed to be escalated and a consumer is requesting a call back several times – you pick up the phone and call the customer back. ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND I STILL HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED MY HARD DRIVES!!!! Is this the level and quality of work that you guys produce?! How is your company’s rating so decent when you cannot even get a call back, nor have your hard drives sent back as requested!! I have paid for a shipping label, so What on earth are you guys hanging onto my drives for???!!!!

I dropped my iPhone Xs off to them in person to have it forensically examined to check if it had been hacked. They two associates working in the window (it was literally a hole in the wall) were rude and treated me as if I knew nothing of computers. I was emailed a contract that I was to sign, to authorize the billing of a $1500 retainer. Upon further thought I decided not to go with them. When I checked my credit card they had already billed my card before I had signed the contract. I had to wait days before my card was credited back for a billing that was contingent upon having my signature on a contract. I am thoroughly displeased with the rudeness of their associates and not following billing protocol. I will never be doing business with them.

Great customer service even though they couldnt repair my damaged flash drive. I knew it was a total shot in the dark. The one complaint i do have is the estimated turn around of the data even if they could fix it. (2-4) months. That defeats the purpose of wanting to recover the data.

From my research, this service is not the least expensive. That said, it was the only service that boasted a 98% recovery rate! They also only charge for diagnostics if they are not able to recover the data, which was only $30. So I gave them a try. I am not disappointed. Their customer portal was easy to use and very informative AND I had a single Recovery Specialist assigned to my case, so when I had questions he responded in short order via email with in 1-3 hours, which put my mind at ease. IF I find myself in the spot where I need to recover data, I will definitely use Secure Data again.

When I reached out for data recovery my computer was completely unresponsive and I didnt have anything backed up, which included (and most important to our family) all our photos as well as all the photos from our kiddos first 3 years of his life. Chris McMacken helped me out, he did a good job of walking me through the process and what to expect.As far as I can tell so far, the data from my drive was recovered successfully.I took off one star on my rating for the following:1) Price is high - they did help get me a less expensive option that was closer to my budget than what was originally quoted, but it was still a lot.2) No option to download data or have it sent to cloud storage. My restored data came back on a keypad encrypted Secure Data USB external drive. While it works, it is inefficient for moving the data to a cloud.3) They recovered a 3Tb drive I had used as a backup for years, and it had a few million files. As I didnt know which files were the most important that I critically needed, they sent me a list of the files they expected to be recovered. The list was a directory dump in a zipped text file too large to open to identify important files. Another format for these files would have been preferred (maybe a secured website with search, filter and paging options).

After our hard drive got damaged, my husband and I were very upset to find that we cannot access any of our pictures/videos/documents, and that years of memories are gone as we didnt keep another copy of our files. We reached out to Secure Data, and our data recovery specialist Jeff Hart, was very helpful and knowledgeable and was also able to negotiate a discount for us so that the recovery price can fit within our budget. Had a crashed drive with important data. The backup program in use was not properly backing up so recovering the data was the only potential option. Now not all cases are the same and recovery does depend on the severity of the crash but I would highly recommend that anyone in need of this type of service consider these folks and contact Chris for help.

Great communication and fast response. The process was straight forward and I was able to get a diagnosis of the issue very quickly. Even though it turned out to be the worst case scenario with my drive, I was a little surprised that the final quote was about 4x higher than the initial estimate as that wide of a range was never mentioned as possible at the beginning of the process. Overall though, professionalism of the process was very good.

I would highly recommend if you have hard drive troubles and need your data recovered. I had a drive go bad in my network attached storage before I could fully back it up to another drive. They were able to get almost 2TB of data recovered off my drive and got it back to me fairly quickly. They sent it back on an encrypted secure drive to ensure it was not lost. Customer service was fantastic and Chris McMacken made sure I had all the information and really went above and beyond taking care of me. Was able to fully recover about 2TB worth of critical data.My only complaint is that they wont accept a credit/debit card for transactions over a certain amount. They took a card for the diagnostic fee, but we had to either mail a check or do a bank transfer for the actual repair bill. That caused an additional delay in getting the data back.

My story is no different then most people posting, Hard drive crashed and I didnt have a backup. time to pay someone to recover the data or just forget it. I did a quick google search and picked Secure Data Recovery Services. A simple online request form followed up by a call from Fredrick Wright from customer services who help me with process. A couple of day after I sent the Hard drive to Secure Data they sent me the quote for recovery. I knew their is a cost in technical services, but I was a little shocked at the actual price, but going from the many online postings data recovery is expensive! Mr Wright emailed me at each step keeping me informed on the status of the recovery. When the recovery was completed I was giving the option of storage device to put the recovered data on and what shipping method. not all files were recovered. It looks like around 5 word documents out of the couple thousand recovered were unrecoverable. I live with that thanks again to Fred Wright and the rest of the staff at Secure Data

Long story short I clumsily knocked down my external hard drive that contained all my old photos, videos, and backups.
