Renting here for a year has always been the best experience of my rental life. I am very impressed with the management, as well as the ease of working with them.
There is no positive to living here. I broke my ankle due to the negligence of the landlord in providing adequate lighting outside the apartment and brought it up with him twice, and he did not respond either time. In the winter, the sidewalks are never salted, creating a dangerous environment. The alleyway is always filled with trash that does not get removed with weekly garbage collection; sometimes there is not even a clear path through the alley (which is meant to be a FIRE ESCAPE). When I first moved in, we found and promptly reported two BROKEN windows (with no screens) that were repaired almost half a year later despite our constant maintenance requests. Same thing with our dishwasher. The landlord was extremely rude as well and tried to explain his negligence with the fact that his poor management of other buildings were causing even more dire problems. We also had cracks and insanely large bulges in walls that were fixed shoddily a year later by them knocking holes into the walls and slapping drywall into the patches, without even having the walls sanded down. My bedroom wall looks like it has a skin disease on a huge spot because of this. The laundry costs $4 per load, assuming the machines are operational. We have 0 hope in even sending in maintenance requests because historically they have been ignored or deleted from the app. This company is predatory and takes advantage of college students who do not have the money to live elsewhere and do not have the experience as a tenant to know their rights given by Ohio’s tenancy laws. Our lease is not even a lease specific to our apartment, it is a “generic lease” that’s used across all of Alpha Apartments; this means there are some privileges entailed in a LEGALLY BINDING DOCUMENT that the landlord cherrypicks for the tenant.
I lived in Haddon Hall for years without issue until it was bought by Alpha Apartments and things immediately went downhill. They are completely unresponsive to serious issues (water damage, safety issues, etc) but don’t hesitate to send letters increasing rents. It’s nearly impossible to reach Greg, the property manager, as the number provided is dead and emails come from a disposable account. We went months without working washers and dryers or secure front doors. They even tried to hide the fact that the building had bed bugs! They also tried to change the terms of our rental agreement mid contract. Took us months to collect our security deposit back, despite leaving the apartment in pristine condition. I would not recommend renting from this company, especially if you are a single female looking for a safe and secure building.
Lived in one of their units as a fourth-year undergraduate student. It really feels like they take advantage of us and our age -- the landlord was never responsive to maintenance requests, management never returned our calls. Our buildings heating broke down during wintertime and it wasnt fixed for weeks. Students -- do your research and keep management accountable if you rent from here.
I have been calling this place home for over 6 years. The building is beautiful, the location is amazing, and the apartments are very reasonably priced. Beautiful hardwood floors, unique architectural elements in each apartment, and great location. Greg is responsive and understanding, while professional and courteous. The online portal is perfect for any questions, or you can just call or text Greg and he responds promptly. I love this place!
I currently live here and as though me and the landlord have had our differences we worked out our problems by communicating, they are very understanding and compassionate. Communication is key, if I have an issue it is handled immediately, and vice versa. I do not have any complaints they handle business and expect the same in return! All and all a reasonably priced home to call your own. Since Greg has taken over it has been very peaceful and things are getting done.
I have lived here several years. Over 3 actually, this place is getting worse. Greg is a horrible property manager. The number they have for the office is not correct. Its a private number for a womans phone. There are mice everywhere. The mail boxes are not secure, they swing open and dont properly lock.. well, mine doesnt lock at all. The plumbing issues here are atrocious, the electrical in the building is horrible. Nothing is ever fixed correctly. Mediocre patch jobs, they take your money and thats it. No one is responsive. Many others have had issues. Some have had no heating or electricity. They had to rig something up. The heating is subpar at best. Management is less than Mediocre.
I have been renting from Alpha Apartments going on 4 yrs, I have had no issues with management Greg and everyone in the office are very nice if anything is not working in my unit the problem is quickly resolved, I love the location and happy I moved here
I loved my location and the flexibility with move in/move out dates! My property manager was also great about checking in periodically to make sure I was happy in my apartment. As Alpha Apartments expands, I will be sure to keep them at the top of my list when looking into renting new places around the city.
Management is responsive to maintenance requests and helpful during crises should they arise. They enforce a peaceful and safe living environment.
I have lived at Manor Park in Lakewood for a little over two years now. The location is perfect and the apartments are spacious. GREAT LOCATION! and walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Neighbors are quiet and the amenities are great! Meagan is the best and responsive with issues that arise. I am sad to move out of this great unit but happy this has been my home in Lakewood!
Dont let the false reviews pull you into the trap. The new property manger Mr. Greg is worse then Mrs. Meagan the old property manger. He doesnt response to emails or return voicemails. And i have several emails to back up everything. He changes numbers without informing tenants. Maintenance doesnt completely tasks. I have a child and pregnant with power issues since the end of May 2020 and still not resolved. If your on any type of housing program please dont waste your time. Mr. Greg doesnt response to the program trying to reach out to communicate with him. But send out emails talking about filing to put you out. And list goes on my people.
I live at the Manor Park building and Ive had nothing but unresolved issues and unprofessional interactions with Alphas management. First with Meagan and again with Greg. They are ignoring my numerous maintenance requests to fix the severe water damage Ive suffered since May 2020 that grows in severity with every downpour. .
I Love Living here! It’s so Reasonable for the location and the Apartments are Nice and Clean.... Everyone that works here is always soFriendly!!
Lived at the apartments on Hessler Rd. For 1 yr. Ideal location, spacious common areas, great kitchen. Management was responsive
I live in Manor Park in Lakewood for about a year now and absolutely loved this place. The location is so convenient to the best downtown Lakewood has to offer (Bars/Restaurants) and is just a couple blocks from Edgewater. Its located about 15 minutes away from downtown. Its the perfect location. The rooms have been redone within the last year and all brand new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and laundry and dryer in the building. The entire staff is tremendously accommodating! Everyone is absolutely great! Living at Manor Park has certainly made my time in Lakewood much more enjoyable.
Not sure on how to get in touch with management on resolving issues. We’ve tried calling, emailing and using the “portal” to no avail. Besides that, the apartment wasn’t even ready when we moved in.
Lived here for years. I like the building
On Hessler road, the only buildings that dont have the snow removed from the sidewalk, are the building handled by Alpha management. Why dont you guys do like the other management companies and have the snow removed by your workmen ?
