Great facility and very clean. But PLEASE! Update the music! The newest song is form 1970, come on! Keep it up to date
Operations manager didn’t even know what OSHA was..when complaining about a staff member spraying bleach water into the open air in the enclosed pool area!Health hazard in some instances!Cleaning staff doesnt do so great anymore. Ive literally seen trash on the locker room floor thats been there for 3 weeks….and taking a self in a mirror on the gym floor is a no go as they are always dirty!Members dont wipe down equipment….trainers don’t wipe down as well..for themselves or when they are with clients.Staff is friendly to members who pay for the expensive training…but if you dont pay for that….dont expect eye contact or even a hello.most staff spend most of their time texting rather than paying attention to whats going on throughout the facility.Ive also seen equipment partly taken apart with signage that says: scheduled for repairs…do not use….and Ive seen members use them anyways…all while the operations manager and other staff members just walked right by and ignored it!POORLY RUN FACILITY….Lacking any kind of managerial common sense.
I love the Monday/Wednesday pilaties lady. She is such a great instructor. This location is further from my house but I make the drive for her class.
Kameron was by far the most; professional, knowledgeable and helpful trainer I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Seriously if your trainer isn’t helping you much I suggest you stop by and speak to this gentleman now.
LA was a 5-star gym, but the transition to eSporta has ruined nearly all of the benefits of this specific gym. This gym is CROWDED, and only getting worse as a result of constant sign up for $1 deals that bring in new lifters, high school kids, and people who dont know that youre supposed to wipe a machine after use.
Staff is generally rude. No hellos or goodbyes (almost like it’s trained, doesn’t matter who is working). Asking any question even as simple as being asked to be checked in will get you a eye roll and attitude. And I’m not someone to even ask for much so I can’t imagine how other people feel. This is not how a front desk should behave. First impressions are like fragile eggs. The gyms nice and clean but it’s hard to see past the staff. The janitor is the nicest man in the building. Work out here daily. Wish something would changeEdit: staff has definitely been nicer and more upbeat lately. I have absolutely noticed a change. Gym is clean and nice so not much else to complain about anymore.
Exactly what youd expect for LA, no complaints. Not sure what Esporta means versus LA, but Ive liked LA for a long time and this one is newly remodeled. Medium sized
Most expensive personal training sessions (no refund). Manager “tried” to get us a refund on $2,000 of personal training when we tried to cancel it. He never got back to us and we paid more months and got 0 refund. If you want to pay $300+ per personal training session, come here. We were charged during COVID, and the trainer cancelled on us, etc.Money down the drain for poor service.
Been coming here since it opened. Been with LA Fitness for 10+ years. This is the worst I’ve seen. This place is going downhill fast. Not sure what Esporta is either and why they only pay $10 a month. No one that works here talks to you.
I am use to giving my number to get in any of the gyms. But today I was told to download the app before I could workout. Meanwhile other members are giving their phone numbers to get in. So I just decided to go for a walk instead.
This Esporta was recently changed from LA fitness. It has declined faster than I have ever seen a business decline. Every day I come in more shower curtains are ripped down, machines are down and not getting repaired.I am greatly disappointed. Don’t join if you think your money will go back into better facilities.
Great, friendly place. No intimidation. Very friendly and informative staff.
Just signed up for a membership yesterday because they opened up the kids club. This morning I got up early and went in only to find out the kids club was closed because the worker didn’t show up - meanwhile plenty of other staff were just sitting and hanging out. What a waste of time and money!!
This was my first time visiting this location because I am visiting from out of town. It was easy to sign up for a Zumba class. We were greeted nicely and the facility was clean! I have visited various gyms across Florida and each time I am nervous because each Zumba instructor leads the class differently which makes me feel awkward and incompetent when I attempt to follow along. My anxiety decreased as soon as Elijah J. Coleman entered the room. He has an infectious beautiful smile, positive energy and he was very encouraging to everyone! I usually feel intimidated to try Zumba because it seems the instructors automatically seem to think that each person will know the routine. Elijah J. Coleman introduced each step slowly several times and then amped it up. He encouraged us to have fun with it and I truly did as well as others that attended the class. Ive been having upper right back pain for a week now but during the class I pushed through the intermittent discomfort, laughed, sweated, and truly enjoyed myself! My boyfriend, who was working out in another part of the gym said he saw me really trying hard. Since I live out of town we are going to do our best to try to join Elijah J. Colemnas class again; his class got my weekend started right!!
As usual with an Esporta club, hot tub was inoperative. Management full of ridiculous excuses. Another member informed me was just fixed after closing for 3 weeks. Complained to corporate. They only offered to freeze my membership.
We were members before covid and recently rejoined. Less than a month after we rejoined, there was signage in the lobby that our LA Fitness was now becoming Esporta! We paid $27.60 per person, and lucky us, we would be grandfathered in as LA fitness members, even though an Esporta membership is only $9.99 per person! I tried to ask the girl at the membership desk (when it was staffed, which wasnt often) and she acted like she had never even heard of Esporta. 2 days later, the lobby signage was down- meaning if you missed it, youll never be any wiser to the fact that youre over paying by almost 3 times the amount of your peers!I was never able to speak to anyone in membership directly as theyre only there during business hours, which, conveniently, I am unavailable during business hours. I tried emailing LA Fitness corp, as well as Esporta corp 3 times with no response. I finally messaged both LA Fitness and Esporta on Facebook and somehow, someone named Abby called my husband to discuss. She said we could remain on our LA Fitness priced membership and reap the benefits (which, when asked, she could only come up with being able to put our memberships on hold or freeze. Not really a perk I need for 3 times the price). She tried to tell us that the Esporta membership was for cardio equipment only- which may be true, but I never see any staff in the gym to really enforce that. When we asked if we could be lucky enough to be grandfathered in to the new Esporta fees, she said sure, but there was a $200 conversion fee. What a joke. After calling Abbey out on all her BS, we were finally able to just cancel our membership, effective immediately. She was just nice enough to waive the cancellation fees ($52 PER PERSON), however we had to eat the month we prepaid when when signed up.With the change to Esporta and the lesser fees, the gym has been out of control busy, and my husband and I were often unable to access equipment we needed during the 6am hour we were used to. So were not really terribly upset about the loss of membership that we were paying 3 times as much as new members, for equipment we couldnt use. But Abbey did say we are welcome to rejoin Esporta in the future. No thanks. We were willing to pay the annual fee and activation fee for the convenience of the gym being walking/biking distance from our home- but not any more.
The place is nice but we set an appointment at 8pm and then ask if we can move it to around 5pm. The guy agreed and will take me soon I arrived. However when I got there took at least 30mins to even do a tour to begin with. I left frustrated being that I have little time to waste.
I have been training with Rich. I have worked with a number of trainers over the years and he is the best. He will tailor a workout to fit your particular needs; no one size fits all. I also have worked with Steve the Training Manager and he is very customer focused and has helped ma manage my account. I highly recommend this facility.
Bad… just really bad. Your experience starts at the front desk and that’s where mine ended when I walked out. Too many other gyms with competent staff!
Very clean, helpful staff. People if you spend as much time working out as you do staring at your phones as you vacation on the equipment, you might actually lose some weight and change the way you look.
Definitely recommend, the gym is very clean and nice, everyone working their is so kind and professional, it’s really nice compared to the other gyms I have been too especially since they have a lot more equipment and it not so packed and tight, very comfortable.
The GM is great! Super friendly and down to earth that doesnt try to push anything on you. Definitely get a free pass online and try the place out for 4 days free! Vibe is great. Not too broish, but people know how to work out so you can find motivation there. Check it out if you looking for a good gym. Make sure to negotiate out the start up fee if you want to make it permanent!
Would love for this location to extend their hours like the other esporta locations so I could actually have time to go
Nice place great pool great staff
Great machines, clean space and friendly staff
Awesome equipment, great place!
I have been going here for over a year, but have had Lexi as my trainer for over 9-10 months and she has helped me increase my strength and overall endurance! I have lost quite a few pounds and many inches. She pushes me to do my best and encourages me keep going, but safely. She makes assessments, questions what you want to work on, and provides plans for you specifically. I am very happy with her and her professional manner. Give her workouts a try and let her encourage you to do your best!
I trained with Jacob and it was legs and it was almost like he wanted to hurt me my whole thigh is sore can’t go up the stairs it’s very painful and it is very stressful dealing with this pain. Also be aware they don’t let you read the contract before your signing so don’t even bother to sign up to train with them they will not listen to your body. God bless
Amazing customer service... Gym is clean, tons of free weight and sauna temperature is the best compare to other gyms in the area...
Supposed to open at 5am. It is 630am and 50 people waiting outside to get in, they are still not open. Guests say this happens sometimes
Here I sit, 6:00 am waiting for them to open when they were supposed to open at 5am. Seems to be a common occurrence here.
I have been working out at LaFitness for many years and started using Alexa for personal training a few months ago. She is an awesome trainer and ALWAYS gives me a great workout. She changes the workout up every time and keeps it challenging for me. I have noticed significant improvement in my core and muscle strength. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting a good workout with results to boot!!
La Fitness is a clean place and everyone saves their space. I recommend it
I was quoted a price for membership on the phone and was told there is a one time initiation fee and no annual membership fee. When I got there the monthly price quoted went up and there is an annual fee. I hate bait and switch. They certainly didnt seem friendly either.
LA Fitness once again kills it. Joe signed me up right away and it was painless. He got me the exact membership I was looking for.
Nice and clean place.
Great place to work out. Very clean! A wide variety of machines and weights, resistance and core training, basketball court, pool, spa and sauna. Cycling and other classes, too. Tons of cardio machines so you never have to wait. Theres something for everyone. All ages and all fitness levels. Super helpful and friendly staff. A good work out in a great environment!
Staff is super great!! Joe was very helpful and kind. Went out of his way to help me and get me settled. A gym is just equipment and fans but it’s the staff that makes it feel like a safe place.
My daughter was forcefully signed up with Jacob and he had told her that it would be postponed until the day after. My daughter was trying to have a conversation with him and he signed her up without telling her what he was doing. Not allowing my daughter to know that he is signing her up for a contract is very unprofessional. They will be doing the old fashion way of selling and it is the kind where they guilt trip you.
Steven Lynch, PT director is phenomenal. I was a certified trainer years ago and felt that I didn’t need personal training ..After meeting with ‘Steven and going over my goals I decided to give the complementary personal training a shot. All it took was one complementary session and I’m hooked. Stevens knowledge, commitment and personal attention we’re enough to get me to sign up for many months of personal training. The personalized attention I received from him is unheard of nowadays and would recommend him to anybody that has fitness goals beginner intermediate or advanced! Definitely a valuable asset to LA fitness and Esporta.
I recently joined LA Fitness in Clearwater Florida on Gulf to Bay Blvd. I started a personal training session with Steve. I was very hesitant at first because I am recovering from a spine surgery and was afraid of hurting myself. However, Steve is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I have done a few sessions with him and already feel stronger and with NO PAIN!! I am so grateful for him and would recommend to anyone who is wanting to make a change in their life. He will work with you and meet you where you’re at but help you grow and get stronger.
My personal trainer, Lexy, is awesome. She works me hard but not too hard that I want to give up. I love to please her and try to do extra for me and her. If you go to the LA Fitness on Gulf to Bay for personal training, I highly recommend you work with Lexy!! You definitely will be happy with the outcome.
Very nice gym, however, this location is not open late enough. They close way to early on weekends. Minus 1 star for hours.I also deducted a star for cleanliness. With Covid-19, the equipment is not getting cleaned frequently enough. Theres a sanitizer dispenser that hasnt worked in a couple weeks and one of the paper towel dispensers were empty yesterday. There were also several sinks in the mens RR that were out of soap yesterday.
I could not be more satisfied with my experience at this gym. The staff is friendly and always a pleasure to see. The members are all friendly and considerate.I do have to admit, however, that a big reason I love this gym is my personal trainer, Sean, who I immediately clicked with after our first session. He makes it fun for me to work out and stay motivated.Ive been to a number of gyms over the years and this is the one I was looking for.The only issue Ive noticed is that there are quite a number of customers who dont pay for personal training taking up that area, getting in the way of, or just disturbing the people who do pay the extra money to use that area.I know the personal trainers are doing their best to mitigate the issue, but there is only so much they can do. Despite this issue, however, Im still going to rate this location five stars, as, after meeting him, Im quite certain that the new manager, Steve, will be making great strides to address the issue with the PT area, as well as make many more improvements to the gym while preserving that welcoming environment that other gyms seem to have lost to rampant sales culture.
Clean, cool and well lit facility.
This is such a nice facility! Its so clean and the staff is so friendly. Theyre happy to help in any way. Joe Plant is super cool...thank you!
Hi, I am a happy customer of LA Fitness. Alexa & Steven have been training me. I keep improving! I have a year planned out! Thank you!
I’ve had LA fitness memberships to various facilities, but this facility is By far the best one. The GM(Joe), management and staff are awesome
I had trained with Jacob and he is the sales manager, well he had signed me up and started me to sign stuff while not actually saying what he was filling out. Whenever he signed me up he told me I could TEXT MESSAGE him the next day and he would cancel it. THis was on a FRiday. The same day I told him I did not want to do the training and he said to come in person so I did. He just said that with my concerns it would be ok. Well it was very sketchy. Basically none of the people you are seeeing in the facility cxan cancel your membership. So be careful they just want a sale and will lie to you to get one!!!
It’s a decent gym but I don’t like that we can use the training room as we like.
Enjoyed Silver Sneakers program this morning.
Went to Silver Sneakers. The instructor and members were very friendly. I was visiting Clearwater that week
Great gym!! Very clean, great machines and free weights. Lexi (Trainer) is a great investment! She takes the time to listen to your fitness goals and customizes your workout plan, to fit your needs. Lexi is a great addition, to your workout goals!!
RUNNN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.I recently moved to Clearwater Florida looking for a gym to join. Went into LA Fitness on Gulf to Bay and have had nothing but issues since. Taylor the sales agent, who is no longer at this location but still employed by LA Fitness will sign up anyone with all of the perks even if you dont want them because the sales team gets paid off of commission. (They should probably change that honestly, but I am not the owner so not my call) Starting off I pay $80/mo for two people, not bad right? That $80 includes absolutely nothing, I cant bring a guest in at all, and there are no signature clubs at any of the places I workout (which the sales team lied about there as well to sign me up for more).ON TOP of the sales team just trying to sell you for as expensive as possible so they get paid they rip you off month after month. Third month being a member there I get a charge taken out for $104.00. Okay well that should include my membership, NOPE! Now their billing teams calls nonstop and say ohhh the $104 is just an annual fee that we charge, Taylor & Joe never mentioned that when I signed up.Outside of that random pictures show up on our accounts, have had multiple conversations with the Operations Manager, Kevin who has been great but he can only do so much.I could continue to write a book about everything that has gone wrong with this membership but just to get the jist RUNNNN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Not worth dealing with their sales team because a month later you will have to call 3 to 4 times a week just to make sure you arent getting charged additional. I am going to another gym unless they fix this
Its a fairly new facility. Very clean, friendly staff, lots of equipment options. Ive rarely had to wait to use a machine. I highly recommend this place.
Inviting Staff. Its Clean. Not many people choose to wear masks. Overall B+
I’ve been seeing results working with my personal trainer, Lexy, for the past 6 mos or so. She is great! Very positive, motivating, and keeps things new and fun! I highly recommend Lexy!!
Been a member since grand opening early 2019. Excellent staff. Great layout. Not crowded. I use personal trainer and that works extremely well.
I went in for the first time and Joe (GM) came to me, walked me through the entire place and got super real with me. He’s been helping guide me through all of my physical issues giving me guides and tips. Also, from the people I’ve spoken to here so far everyone is really fun, friendly and completely supportive.I’ve never had this experience with any other gym!
General Manager is a lair and says they over hear stiff when they are not even around .. They dont even go over the membership agreement.. They just make you sign .. Not Professional at all
The group fitness class was fun. The teacher was experienced. The club is clean and well-maintained. Its good value for the money, but its not a five-star club--few classes, few perks, not nearly as many options as Lifetime.
I am currently a member of LA Fitness. I understand that they had to move things around due to COVID-19, however, they moved the only ab mat area in the entire gym into the personal training area. This would be fine, however, you cannot use this area if there is personal training occurring (even if they are not using the mats). Ultimately they do not accommodate for the people who do not pay the extra money for the personal training.
Great gym lots of classes, excellent personal trainers!
BEWARE!!!! They will lie to your face to get your business about what membership you’re paying for then say it’s a miscommunication if there are any issues! I just moved to Florida and was staying in Clearwater temporarily but wanted a gym with multiple locations in Florida since I knew Clearwater was temporary. I made that loud and clear when I was going over my situation and the memberships offered. Once again, BLUNTLY LOUD AND CLEAR on what I was doing!!!! The GM looked in my face and told me that my membership was valid at any location in Florida. I move to Saint Petersburg and go to a gym out here and to my surprise they let me know my membership is a single club membership and it’s only for the Clearwater location and then tried to up sale me to a multiple club membership which I was told I had the whole time.
Follows no covid guidelines, they dont even fill the hand sanitizer machines anymore. They even put in a Amazon pickup locker in a hallway before the bathrooms, dumb money greedy idea during covid times. Doesnt care about covid safety.
Nice brand new machines, very clean!.
The personal trainers are awesome especially Sean. He works specifically for each client and is extremely motivational and caring! His professionalism and approach with each person really stands out
Worst gym experience, Terrible service.A different gym is highly recommended. From the jump, The general manager (Joe) had an off energy about him. As we all know, gyms have a FREE, NO COMMITMENT guest pass l so I asked him if I could try the gym out. Tell me why he proceeded laugh in my face then goes on to ask am I interested. Also goes on and continues to explain to me that they dont do guess passes anymore, which isnt true.I pull up the guest pass online and showed him the marketing for it, he then went silent then asked for my id.all of this for what?At that point, the whole gym was dead to me. After that I left and went to another l.a fitness with zero problems.wouldnt let me use a guest pass until he knew for sure I was going to get a membership. I would rate negative stars if I could.
Super clean gym. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. One of the cleanest and nicest Gyms around.
Pleasant staff, well equipped
If you’re looking drop that Covid-19, or take your beach body to the next level. This is definitely where you want to go. Joe and the staff at LA Fitness have been phenomenal during these trying times.
Great team. Walked in and bought a membership and was immediately taken care of by the staff, been here a month and the club is well kept and gym looks amazing even during a pandemic best place to workout in Clearwater by far!!!
I love LA Fitness a lot. The only thing that gets my attention are the ladies sitting at the front desk always on their cell phones.
Steve was so helpful! He even went out to his car in the rain to get me a face mask when I forgot mine.
Overall, there are no outstanding gyms here in Clearwater or in pinellas county for that matter. That stated, this location is clean, filled with people with jobs and does not cater to the lowest tier of humanity. So, it is tolerable. Dont expect any frills. Positives: Clean, you dont get harassed as a woman, never an issue with machine availability, and conveniently located with plenty of parking, and staff members are basically mute which I count as a positive. Hours can be a bit restrictive for us workaholics, especially on the weekends.
The couple of times I have been to the club, I have looked around and thought about joining at least for the time Im on vacation. Steven L talked to me and explained where I am health/number wise and where I need to be, to be healthier than I am.
Great spot for an inexpensive gym experience. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Very good gym 😊
Great gym very clean
Fact is no one wears there masks when inside nor do they stay 6 feet apart. You have to wear it when you show up and show you have a mask when your there but then thats it. I wont be going back to this location, its going to be a covid hotspot and I find it disrespetful that Im over here wearing a mask reslecting peoples distance and people come close breathing heavy with no mask.
Everyone is friendly and the equipment is clean. I like it here.
Wonderful facility, with lots of diverse machines, & ample free weights that ensure you dont have to wait to complete your workout. Spa, whirlpool, & pool are great extras. Already have a private trainer, so the free first initial consult seemed a little generic, to me.
Ask for Sean at the front he’s the best!
Clean club and service is good. Swimming pool always busy at night.
Lots of space to workout safely. Clean.
Was a member at Palm Harbor. Didnt care for it because it was carpeted, which meant that it held the sweat dripping from the members, and it was worn and dirty looking. The equipment seemed dated and didnt function very smoothly. I quit when I moved away to Clearwater. Got an email from LA Fitness with a great offer to return. Went to this one on Gulf to Bay and couldnt believe how great it was. I was lucky enough to be greeted by Nick, the gyms manager. What a great guy. Very friendly and gave me a great tour. This is the best gym Ive ever been to, and Ive been going to gyms for 30 years. The equipment is brand new, everything is spaced out and just has a natural flow to it. Plenty of cardio, all with their own TV. Nick introduced me to Dawson. Again, another great guy. He got me all set up very easily, and in the process, we found out that we have similar backgrounds. My girlfriend signed up the following day. If youre thinking about joining a gym, I recommend be that you check this one out. Youll walk out a very happy member!
This is a great gym. I go here Monday through Friday to play racquetball. The courts are always clean and the facility is maintained very well. Typically greeted by Natasha and Kevin in the morning. Natasha is a very nice young lady and always greets everyone with a smile and, importantly, on time to open at 5:00am. She is very attentive if there is something needed and will do what she needs to help. Kevin is always cheery as well and we have great conversations. I would highly suggest this gym to everyone who is serious about a great experience. 5:00am is early for some but the people at this time are all very nice and the staff is openly helpful and courteous. Needless to say, the best experience I have had at any gym.
Very nice facility. This location is better than the Dale Mabry location. There are a lot more machines that other gyms do not have. Restrooms & overall facility was clean.
Clean and nice variety of exercise equipment.
I like to go to the sauna & then 9am aqua fit .. The sauna was lovely, but there was no instructor .. waited till 9:10 & gave up 😐
Good gym. Poor execution of COVID19 social distancing as well as enforcing facial mask adherence.
Then best
Full of beautiful people and sweat and i love working out there
Clean club great equipment staff seems friendly however if you feel self conscious or are just starting to work out you may feel out of place. There are other LAF locations you can go to without feeling like you need a cute outfit and make up.
They keep the gym extremely clean. They have a lot of equipment and they keep them well maintained. Rarely will you find any equipment that is out order. Locker rooms are clean. The club manager, Joe, is very nice and does a very good job running the place. That being said, I was not too happy with the personal training. Its very expensive and the sessions are only 30 minutes, which was not enough for me. For the money I spent, I was not too happy with the results. I ended up stopping my sessions and working out alone. My results were a lot better by myself. At least they did teach me the right techniques and form, but they dont push you hard enough. I would not recommend you sign up for personal training here.
This place has used my credit card twice without my consent. I let my daughter-in-law use my membership and she gave her credit card. Theyve used mine two times too. Besides that, they dont tell you that besides the initiation fee theres an enrollment fee two months later. One gets charged without even know it. Its in the fine print one is not directed at!Very bad business practice 🧐Then the spa is filthy. They clean it twice a week.
Visiting here from out of state on a guest pass. The staff was amazing, really felt like home here. Equipment is very well kept and locker rooms were very clean and accommodating. If i lived here it would be my regular gym. Would recommend it to anyone with all fitness goals. Thanks again!!
Everything is brand new. Awesome gym 💪
