In the past 15 plus years Ive lived nearby and have rented equipment from time to time. Not a BIG user of their equipment, but Ive never had a bad experience with anything Ive used in the past. Admittedly, they do have to hire novice help from time to time and they may not always know the best response when a customer has a problem or a complaint. Ive never had any issues with customer service, so - - - .Im not affiliated with Universal Rent-All in any way shape or form. Im considering renting another piece of equipment in the next few weeks and Universal is both convenient and competent. I WILL rent from them again in the future.

Pleasant, knowledgeable service. We were able to get a lift last minute, delivered to the job site for a reasonable rate. Having worked with the large rental companies up and down the Wasatch Front it was wonderful to experience actual customer service. Worst place to rent from!Rented a mini excavator on Saturday that was due back by close of business. Wasn’t able to get it back by closing so they charged a full day referral for Sunday as well even though the machine was only used for 5.5 hours. It was clear it wasn’t used on Sunday nor could they have rented it to someone else had I brought it back at 530 Saturday night as they were closing. Thought they’d have a little more kindness and desire to get more future business, but nope. Also the same machine at Diamond Rental is $80 LESS a day!! $320 at Diamond $400 at Universal.

My story matches the rest of paperwork and staff unorganized, Nickle and dime upon return, TAKE DETAILED PICTURES OF EVERY SQUARE INCH OF RENTAL if you choose to do buisness with them, and make sure you get a name of who checks you out (since thats not kept track of in paperwork and their version of a signature is 3 circles) and not by the description of his beard like the manager will request from you. Ive never heard a manager say Well I wasnt here so I dont know who was here..... you dont have a schedule? Disappointed all around, especially coming from previous employment in rentals and understanding the back office. Owners response below is typical to his other responses. It seems they are never at fault and the customers always wrong..... reported to local BBB for review, not just national website reporting. 31 years of buisness reported, youd think theyd have paperwork or customer service down.*in response to review.... so you can determine/question whether or not Im there to pick up said rental but cant determine what employee checked me out? On not one of your negative complaints is there responsibility or accountability. At some point it cant be all of us random customers having the same complaint right?

I rented an aerator. It would not run properly. Each pass I made across my lawn it would die at least 3 times. I called and talk to them and ask them if they had any suggestions on what the problem could be. They didnt have any information that would help me. So I struggled through it. When I returned the aerator I told them about the problem again. They started it up and took it out to see what was going on with it. He operated it for 20 yd and back and it died on him 5 or 6 times. He agreed with me that there was something wrong with it. They said they would look into it and see whats going on. I did my whole front yard and backyard restarting it 3 to 4 times each pass across the yard. I tried to talk to him to see if I could get any kind of discount or refund. He would not give me a discount or a refund or anything. He just said well at least you got the job done. Worst customer service Ive ever had. He didnt care about my time or frustration because the equipment wouldnt run properly. Or the $50.00 I paid to rent it. So if you rent something from them and it doesnt work exactly how its supposed to take it back and get another one. Because they wont do anything if you just struggle through it like I did. Im very unhappy with my experience I had today. I have rented there many times in the past but from now on Im renting from Home Depot.

I take writing reviews very seriously so this isn’t typical but I won’t ever rent from here again. We are a company out of Salt Lake and we needed to use a dingo for a couple of hours in Plain City. We finished the job (the machine worked alright) we called them and asked if we could return it a few minutes after close because we have to go back to Salt Lake. They wouldn’t wait a few minutes for us to show up, usually this isn’t a big deal but they pointed out that keeping it over night would make us have to pay for a full day rather than the few hours we used it. We then had to drive back to Ogden and return it the next day and drive home. Not impressed, would not recommend.

Warning! Do not rent from this place; they are so unprofessional and rude. How could you expect to run a business with treating customers with no respect. This is our third time going there to rent and they are not the nicest people on the planet. Third strike we are out; I forgave them before because I believe human make mistake but after today experience, I realized that they are normal rude people; we are going there anymore.And so ungrateful!!!If they do not appreciate our business, go rent to another company that have good owner and good human beings. I feel scared going into this place, they have rude and anger issues. Don’t waste your time and money.My neighbor friend also told me that they had a bad experience with this company; customer service is very poor and they do not care about your safety concerns and as a human. I give it a no star but it does not have an option for it.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I rented a material lift to hang a piece of equipment roughly 10 feet off the ground. The lift failed, came off its rails, fell forward and dropped our equipment. Fortunately nobody was hurt! I received the same treatment from Josh as everyone else with a complaint. Josh refused to refund and went as far as to insinuate I damaged the lift. So I’m out $50. But the bigger issue here is that they are renting equipment that is not safe to operate. Someone could have been seriously injured today.

I love these guys. I rented a small Ditch Witch from them for a day. They were knowledgeable and answered my questions about using the machine. My time with the machine was very productive. Upon return, without me telling them, they noticed the machine was too far back on the trailer so they worked very carefully detaching the trailer as to cause no damage to my vehicle. Again, they did this on their own because they could tell by looking there was an issue.To me, one of the definitions of success when renting a product like this is that no one gets hurt, nothing gets damaged and the job gets done - in that order. Universal helped me ensure my experience with the SK600 was a success.Thanks!

This review is for JOSH. I booked a mini-ex for 2 days and JOSH called me halfway into my first day under the guise of asking “what bucket I had,” then proceeded to say he had another customer asking if I’d bring the machine back early. I said I had the bucket I needed, but would try to finish as fast as I could... I returned it a half day early because I thought I was helping him out, but rather than cut me a break, he charged me for a FULL second day at $620! Why? Because according to JOSH, if I took the half day rate at 75/hr for 4 hours the total of $650. Yes.. You got it. The total at the halfday rate came out more than if I had kept it the full second day! At that point, I had already sent my friends who were helping me home and brought the equipment back to the facility.Great work JOSH. Way to earn respect.

I had a compactor reserved for a week. I came in on my reserved time and they said they dont have it and its still rented out. I had hot asphalt and relied on Universal Rental to come through. No phone call or anything to let me know. They didnt seem to care! They lost my business.

This review is regarding the employees and their character which I believe gives credibility to this business. I was having car trouble and ended up needing immediate help and luckily it happened near Universal Rent-all. Josh took some time to help me by checking my brakes, wheel wells and tires. It turns out my car did have an issue that he explained to me and guided me to what he would do if it was his car. I was treated so sincerely without any expectation of payment. I think youre doing something very right. I would trust that this company, based off Josh and his co workers help!

Used this place to rent a bobcat, scaffolding and a few other items. Very affordable prices. Very knowledgeable people and easy to talk too. When renting equipment treat it like its yours. They are far people

I rented a power rake because it was a lot cheaper to do it myself than to pay someone to come out and do it. Called and made a reservation. It was clean and full of gas on pick up. Worked really good. Price was what I was quoted on phone. Would use again if I needed to rent something. They appear to have a lot of different things they can rent.

All the dudes there at Universal are very helpful and very knowledgeable thats the only place I rent when Im in town

Whatever you do, do not rent from this place. They dont disclose their nickel and dime tactics. Charged me $14.00 for 1/4 gallon of gas and $20.00 for a rubber piece that was never on saw. They couldnt even tell me what it looked like. Also had a ridiculous flippant attitude when questioning them. Go anywhere else but here. Also had friends that warned me about this. Should have taken their advice. Too late for me, but not for you.

Filled some propane tanks here. Cost at the time was about $3.50/gal. They were a little slow to help me get on my way. I was the only person in the store and took about 5 min before I was even greeted. They were not the quickest at heading outside to fill the tanks either. Looks like a friendly group that works here though. After the purchased they engaged me in a brief conversation.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. The guy was initially friendly when i rented a car dolly. We told him that we would not be able to return the dolly until after 6pm. The guy assured us that it was no problem, and that he would only charge for a day. At 5:08, we called to confirm that we would not be able to return until 6pm, in which the guy flips out and yells for keeping him there 8 minutes past close. He charges us a second day, despite his original promise. Talked to the manager (Nate) on Monday, and he was extremely rude and unaccommodating. I recommend that you avoid this place. They may seem nice, but they will not follow through with their promises.

I have rented multiple times and equipment is beat to hell and never works right and all they said was oh we will look at that. never make it right. And over priced will not rent from them againI told you every problem I had. leaky seals on skid loaders, lights not working, and a throttle problem. All you said was oh we will have to look at that you guys dont care.

Be very careful when dealing with this company. Just left universal rent all with a very bad taste mouth tried charging a cleaning fre as its raining and only having the machine for 20 mins of the 2 hour minimum. Got machine off of trailer and wouldnt work right took back no help and wanted to charge 60 for a cleaning fee. Will not issue a refund. Also told me to take my business elsewhere poor attitudes. Live you learn. But please dont make my mistake

Have used them a lot in the past. This time they were pretty rude and seemed like they didnt care about my business. Went with Advantage Rental instead. They were nicer and they were a lot less.

In my opinion they are dishonest. Rented a generator that I believe they knew had trouble. It wouldnt stay running. Returned it. They promised a refund. Two weeks later no refund. Called and they didnt seem to care about issuing the refund promised.

Rented a car dolly for the day, returned it and they claimed the straps were worn and needed to be replaced. No damage whatsoever on the straps just signs of normal use and they charged me $43. Absolute scam
