I came to the Clayton,NC location of Meineke needing help diagnosing tire issues in my van. I was greeted by such a friendly and helpful front desk staff. The mechanic Pat is so knowledgeable and I am very impressed that he took the extra time to thoroughly explain the cause of the problem showing me hands on the issues. He gave me options on how best to repair and they had my van fixed and ready for me on time. I HIGHLY recommend this location and will be using them for future services too.

Tried to order a catalytic converter and gasket for my SUV online on advice from my mobile mechanic. Received an email stating this was a special order part and the part was also on back order with no time frame when the part would be in. I called Meineke and Paul was able to get my car in and diagnosed. Danny worked on my car and returned it to me in 2days once he got the parts. I am very happy with with my vehicle and the way ot performs now. Will definitely call on them again if I need them.
I took my car in for a Inspection. My appointment was at 9:00. When I arrived i was waited on right away. The service was very good,the waiting area was very clean. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Brought my truck in yesterday for an oil change. The staff were all very friendly, however they did not let me know when my vehicle was ready. After 90 mins of waiting around the neighbourhood I contacted them and they told me it was done. Would have been nice to get the call a little sooner as I had some other things to do yesterday afternoon. Ill probably try somewhere different next time.

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change and cabin filter replacement. It took them over an hour and a half to do the work. I could have done it myself much faster and for allot less. Next time, Ill take my business to Jiffy Lube.

Spent 1500 dollars barely a year ago for an A/C compressor. Told me I need a new one again and also need several other parts replaced that probably should have been replaced last year. No way Im spending another 1900 dollars at this place.

Service technicians were very friendly and explained all issues, providing options and offering suggestions to resolve the issues. They were able fix my exhaust issues at a third of the price quoted from a local competitor and informed me of suspension problems that needed to be addressed. Very pleased with my experience and will seek their services again.

I usually go to the Meineke in Garner but came to Clayton because Garner was booked. The service was terrible. I was in there for an oil change and inspection AND I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. A half hour job took 2 hours and when he gave the car back they forgot to do the inspection. The service manager sent me texts even though I was right next to him. How stupid is that? DON’T GO THERE!
I had went to the location in Clayton they rip you off and charge an arm and a leg. So I got in my car came here soon as I walked in it felt like home. The atmosphere the staff even the customers were cool. I highly recommend this location over any. Thanks Tim
Brake job done at a seemingly fair price. Almost 5 hours wait, with 1 texted update saying vehicle was being worked on. Took 1 1/2 hours to get the results of the inspection. I was then told repair would be 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete the service. 3 hours later in checking on status I was told “well our guys need to have lunch break “ No offer to step back and see when the car might be ready .
ASAP ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE LLC has been recommended to this Shop and they were so right! The manager here told what I could with my vehicle and it worked. A couple of months I came back for another issue (check engine light) and a few other major things that I’ve been ignoring for too long but I couldn’t delay any longer they explained and they got my vehicle up and running like a new one in a couple of hours! They kept lying about a $25 test ride and then put together a fake inspection in its place. I asked about it and called the guy out for being a liar ( black guy with Carolina panther hat and sweatshirt) and he got mad, raised his voice and told the guys in the back to drop my car so he could get rid of me all because I was asking questions. My car now rides rougher than it did before and I was scared to go past 40 the entire ride home. There is no appropriate action other than for him to be fired. steer clear because these people will lie to you for no reason.

I chose to have my car serviced here because it had a good rating and it was convenient to where I live, but was disappointed with my service today. I did appreciate that while I was a few minutes late, they did accomodate me and my wait time for the service was reasonable. However, I had to wait to check in, the desk staff was very disinterested, and I was not even thanked at the end of my transaction. I guess I should have taken notice that when I arrived, the person at the desk was dealing with someone on the phone with a problem of a refund, and the person in front of me had a problem with a previous service visit and had to return to have that checked out. With the oil change, I requested the multipoint inspection and after picking up my car, all of my tires were overinflated considerably enough that I will have to go myself and get that corrected. With a busy schedule, I dont appreciate the inconvenience of that. Hoping that the oil was changed properly but not even feeling confident with that. I do hope that others have had a better experiencem here; perhaps this was not the norm, but I dont expect to return.
Accurately quoted, prices on the tires were actually really good for what I got, and they were attentive to my cars other needs (needed other work done too but I was getting it fixed somewhere else the next day). Was also given a loaner car for free.All in all, great guys and great service. Will definitely be using them again.
They took advantage of bring old (90) and full disability.
Will not go back. Never been to a shop who doesnt wave the $125 diagnostic fee when you get $1000 worth of work done. Very dissatisfied.

I had a scheduled appointment for an oil change. The Clayton location did an excellent job; getting my vehicle in timely, explained all needed items and informing of eligible discounts/coupons. The front desk staff were caring to random people entering the building. During my 30 min. wait they provided a coffee to a fast food restaurant worker, that wasnt even getting car service. Also, a person came from a near by car wash, locking her keys in the car. The front desk staff invited them in out of the heat, assist them to call to get help and offered their children to use the restroom and drinks. This group constantly provided updates with times, offered beverages and were very entertaining.I would recommend this location for all levels of services due to the trustworthy, family atmosphere of a chain auto repair shop.

We took our vehicle in for an oil change and got the inspection back all good except the front brakes. Because we needed our AWD vehicle for our mountain trip that weekend, we reluctantly agreed to pay the elevated Meineke price for brakes (about $150 more than another name brand quoted) rather than try to get it in somewhere else the next day. Shortly after the service, my wife received a text message saying the car had a ton of lights on and would not shift gears. Denny said he would check with the dealer. That was the last we heard until we checked in later and only then did he say he hadnt heard back, itll need to be towed.When we got to the shop, we were met with immediate defensiveness, no remorse or empathy, no responsibility taken, not one Im sorry. Rather, it was laughter, this stuff happens, and arguing that he was sure he was more surprised about what happened than we were. I can assure you we were plenty surprised to have a vehicle go in for a routine oil change and come out of it being in a vegetative state (after having the all clear on the earlier inspection and absolutely no prior issues) getting towed to the dealer for who knows what they did to it. 20 years of owning vehicles and this is a first so apparently this stuff just happens at Meineke - a shop we decided to try since were new in town and dont have a go-to yet.The shop left me and my family with two little ones out in 90+ degree heat without checking on us for over two hours, as we had to arrange a tow (another $115 on top of the ridiculous cost of service), including when they all got to close up and go home. Just hopped in their cars and drove right past us without a word.Bonus issues - nobody there was wearing a mask and they asked for my wifes birthday which just seems really odd.Ive maybe never been more angry with a business or company. Hope this review helps someone avoid a headache.
Ive gone to this Meineke since I moved to Clayton in late 2018 - for oil changes and regular maintenance, as well as for state inspections. Each time theyve been courteous, professional, and even funny/fun. When a couple of my tires were getting bad, they helped me out by pointing out some good places nearby to get new ones without being overcharged (again, I was new to the area), and Ive watched them entertain and/or play with young kids in the waiting room just to help keep the environment more relaxed. Plus free drinks (soda, water, coffee) are a nice perk when youre waiting on your car. :)
Meineke is awful. I took my car for a check engine light code that was supposed to be fixed in July by them (for a sensor) and was supposed to be under warranty. They proceeded to say nothing was wrong with the sensor, it was the timing off on the car from when my timing belt was done - was going to charge $400 FOR LABOR to fix that and didnt even try to explain how this makes the sensor code show for the check engine diagnostic... got a second opinion, saying absolutely nothing indicating the timing in the car would be off and had to get that SAME sensor replaced because it was installed so terribly - bolts were missing and stripped so bad! Needless to say, never taking my car back because all they want is your money. They dont care about actually fixing your car.

They fixed the price issue, but 3 weeks later the brake went out and now It shows service brake system add oil and change oil...I havent even went the 3k miles to have another oil change. They destroyed my truck..
I have taken my SUV to this Meineke for at least 5 years and always satisfied until this year. I took it in July for oil change and a leak by rear tire. Found out I had a shock leaking and it needed replaced but then I was told I also needed an “additional $1900.00 maintenance “ work also !! I passed on that and told them if they had all those suggestions now shouldn’t they have been saying things the whole time?Now I take it in for another oil change yesterday and tell them to do the normal change they always do but when the work was done the charge was twice the price as usual! When I asked why they said they did the highest priced because my vehicle required it! Funny how it hasn’t been required before!I’ve had these problems since the new management team has taken over and I feel they are trying to take advantage of me since I’m a woman. Will not go back.
Had vehicle for nearly a week and had only conducted a basic diagnostic. Said they had to do a compression test, however three days later that had not been done. Took it to dealer who diagnosed problem in just a few hours.
Very friendly but watch out they will pull the wool over your eyes! Apparently they work on commissions, I believe after speaking with another mechanic from the same company that I probably didn’t need the services they performed. Being a woman and someone that doesn’t know much about cars, I feel very taken advantage of. Protect yourself from this company, they use scare tactics! They also put my life at risk by not completely the service. Knowing I was driving a long distance I would have thought they test drove the vehicle to make sure everything was ok, nope! It was the most frightening drive to the beach I have ever experienced. After all of that they seemed not to really care when I called to get advice on what to do. And still haven’t even tried to make it right. Wow!!! Take the money and run.....

I had my front brakes and rotors replaced at Meineke in Clayton. The vehicle inspection they sent was easy to understand and they didn’t try to “scare” me into getting any extra work done. Paul was extremely helpful and friendly. My car was ready when they said it would be, even after adding on an extra service last minute. Thanks guys!
This was the first time I have used Meineke here in Clayton. We just moved here and my daughter needed some vehicle work done. The guys are very professional, friendly and efficient! I was extremely pleased with the shop. I will definitely be bringing the rest of my vehicles here for maintenance.

Great staff, friendly, and very knowledgeable, but prepare for a very long wait. My last 3 scheduled oil changes took 1.5 hrs. Its also the 2nd time Ive asked for a tire rotation with my oil change, and theyve not done it.Id still recommend them because they know what theyre doing and will work with you to get it done in your budget.

I had a fuel line leaking under my car. Their price to replace how foot and a 1/2 of fuel line was just under $200. Within the next 1000 miles it came loose and the car left my son in Smithfield. While setting inside I noticed the counter guys up selling every customer for hundreds of dollars of extra work. Be careful dealing with these guys, know what you need.I would do zero but you cant obviously bottom feeders.

I brought my car in with an obvious ECM failure as diagnosed by myself and another shop. They insisted on performing their own diagnostic for $114. They misdiagnosed my issue as bad spark plugs which had just been replaced 2k miles before, as if bad spark plugs could cause the car to entirely shut off while driving (not just the engine, all electrical systems shut off). They also wanted to do a fuel system cleaner as if that would do anything. I denied all recommended repairs since they were obviously incorrect. I asked if they even inspected the ECM, they told me no because it wasnt throwing codes. I picked the car up with 0.1 miles on the odometer which means they disconnected the battery to reset the ecu so of course it wasnt throwing a code. Within 1 mile of driving it was throwing codes for abnormal data from the ecu consistent with the issue I brought the car in for. I will be submitting a charge back as this company clearly did not perform the service I paid for and recommend you dont take your car here for anything more than an oil change, which you should be doing yourself anyway.Second visit: I ordered the wrong sized tires which they put on for me. When we encountered issues due to me being an idiot they worked hard to make sure they didnt cause the error.

I had front brakes installed on my car September 9th. After a two weeks of driving, the front end of the vehicle continued to shake when I braked to stop the vehicle. I scheduled the appointment on Oct 10th to have the brakes re-inspected. The technician informed me that the rotors were bad. They replaced the rotors and brake pads, but broke two studs in the process. I had to wait until the next day before my car was ready. I did not understand how rotors and brake pads needed replacing in the first place, in less than a month.
They did an electrical diagnostic that took three hours, but only charged me for one hour! Additionally, they let me bring my dog inside. Really nice staff, and they do a great job! Thank you for fixing my car!

I made an appointment for 8am I got there 15min early so I knew I would have to wait to be taken care of. They took my care back and I waited 2 hours for them to do the oil change. I have used this location in Clayton before and it only took 45min to get my oil changed thats why I returned. I will not be back I will go back to the Garner location they get me in and out in a timely manner.

I was very pleased with the service. We went over what I wanted to fix, and the price for parts and labor. Their prices are fair. Then, they did an overall inspection of my car to make sure there wasnt any surprises.They quickly ordered and fixed my brakes. The wait area is clean with magazines, TV and liquid refreshments in stock.I am coming back next month. I will probably use them to service my car from now one.It was worth the drive.

Waited over an hour and a half for an oil change which I had an early appt for. They used to be super fast. Who knows when my car was ready bc I was walking around the shopping center as I waited and never got a call or text that my car was even done. I saw in my email I needed an air filter but they didnt even tell me or call and see if I wanted to replace. Wont be going back there again

To all those unsuspecting patrons seeking a trustworthy mechanic shop, BEWARE of Clayton Meineke!!! I am in process of a small claims suit after several months of back and forth due to outright DAMAGE to my vehicle and overcharging of services. The business is completely without integrity and blatantly, routinely charges for services not rendered, destroys components of vehicles by lack of technical knowledge and required skill... all without remorse or conscience. I am suing them and supporting my case with FACTS outlining the location’s lack of ethics. Enough is enough and their unscrupulous tactics must be stopped and no longer should they be allowed to take advantage of innocent, trusting clientele. We all work hard for out money and these business practices is an injustice!

I never write reviews, but this place more than deserves an awesome testimony to their great work! This has been our go-to mechanic since moving here a few years ago and they have gone above and beyond to take care of us. I know the price given is always more than fair, and that the work is necessary and completed with care. Kyle always explains my options and helps guide me to the safest and most cost effective solutions. Him and the rest of the team make going to the mechanic an enjoyable experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Reasonable prices and amazing customer service. Kevin Carnes helped save me a trip to Cary. Otherwise I would have paid way more getting an oil change, rotor/break pad replacement, and inspection done at my original car dealer. Not only that but my car was ready 3 business days earlier than I expected!! I have to say my first Meineke experience in Clayton was a positive one. No more shaking when breaking and my car is back to how it was originally. I will definitely be back with other vehicles as needed
They did a good job, replaced my wheel bearings on my acura rsx, had some issues but quickly took it back and they fixed it right away. Very kind people, just understand vehicles are expensive sometimes to fix so dont be suprised when one issue turns maybe into 2 or 3.

I always go to this Meineke. They are awesome and affordable. Service is quick and they have a place in the lobby where I can connect to WiFi and do my work while waiting on my vehicle. They are very thorough. I little while ago I came for an oil change and the tech noted some oil in the oil pan that they recommended I have the Ford dealership look at because my vehicle was still under warranty. I was able to get it fixed at Ford, paid for under warranty, literally 2,000 miles before my warranty was up. If it wasnt for Meineke, I would have never noticed that oil and might have ended up having to pay for that. I appreciate the fact that they are an honest company, and told me to go to the Ford dealership. So many other service companies out there probably would have tried to take my money to fix it themselves. Meineke cares about their customers and always does what is in the best interest of the customer first. I would definitely recommend this Meineke to others, and will continue to service my vehicle here. Thanks guys!
My car was brought in to diagnose a coolant leak. I also needed a quote on some suspension-related work. A quote was generated and I authorized the repairs to the coolant system, which included a replacement water pump.Most major automotive repair comes with some unknowns. In my case, it came in the form of a stuck timing chain tensioner, which prevented the water pump from being removed by the tech. This meant that the timing chain assembly would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, through a miscommunication, the technician had been directed to make this swap without my authorization.My sales guy, Kyle, upon realizing what had happened, agreed to eat the cost of this additional labor, as well as the parts cost, in order to complete the original repair work to my satisfaction and at the cost that wed agreed on. In my own estimation, and according to quotes Id received from other shops, this timing chain swap amounted to approximately $1,300 in parts and labor that I was not charged for. They even honored a coupon that my wife brought in.While they had the engine apart, I was offered a very reasonable price on a spark plug swap since they were easily accessible and the labor required would be minimal. I would estimate that I saved around $300-400 on this service alone. They also installed a new set of battery terminals that I had brought in, at no charge to me.Throughout the process, I was frequently brought back to the shop by Warren, my technician, to inspect the work performed; I was walked through each issue he encountered, and never felt like I was being lied to about the extent of repairs needed. My wife and I were treated with respect, and at no point did I feel like our business was being taken for granted.
Excellent experience, had not been treated so well in a long time in an auto repair shop. Joe Villegas was very knowledgeable in Honda vans and gave us great ideas for maintenance and upkeep of our Odyssey van after the repairs were done, which were very reasonable. I highly recommend this Meineke Car Care Center.

Many thanks to Chris and Kevin. My 2003 Trailblazer had been suffering for more than 3 months with a persistent Check Engine light. After multiple visits to other mechanics, I was told it would cost 3-4 thousand just to get the light to stay off!!. Kevin and Chris gave me a diagnosis and repair advice in less than 1 hour. They went above and beyond and gave advice about a weird noise that I forgot to mention. When all was done, the Check Engine light is off for good, I passed the State inspection, and spent only a fraction of what the others wanted to charge.
