Never ever again. I got sick and my debit card get replaced. So I didnt go for 4 months and I couldnt pay so I assume is month to month membership and my membership is canceled. My stupidity I didnt canceled my membership immediately. So 4 months later I got the bill and been sent to collections agency even I didnt use the facility at all. Yep. Lesson learned and $112 gone. Never ever again.

I was in town for 2 weeks. I Love working out. I call Louisville Athletic Club. Talk to them about getting a 2 weeks pass. They said yes. So I drove by the LAC. To find it. Get started on the exercising! It is really gym! Im use to a small gym. Everybody is friendly. I was very Disappointed!!!That I didnt get a tour of the LAC!! To show how use the equipment? Like a lifting weights.The big Weight to do Leg, Arms,Floor Press. I felt like a very small Ant in that Gym!!!!_

Great people and facility. Wish we could have taken this place with us when we moved to another state. My girls loved the daycare as well.

I waited about 2 months before I decided to do a review just so I can leave my honest review of the place. Don’t get me wrong. I love working out here, I love utilizing the cafe and other benefits that are offered to members but just like anywhere it has its faults. I’ll do what I like and dislike about the place and then my overall opinion.Likes:•The vibe you get from walking in is nice and it makes you want to get a good lift in.•All the things that are offered to its members.•The indoor turf.•The free weights.•Ms. Linda is one of the sweetest workers there. She’s always walking around cleaning, has a smile on her face, and happy to engage in conversation with anyone.Dislikes:•In the guys bathroom, 2 of the showers has not been working for the past month, 1 shower only puts out cold water, and 1 shower has a light bulb that has been out.•Also in the showers the shampoo containers inside of the showers are most of the time empty and I always have to go to one of the other showers to put shampoo on my scrub then go back to my shower to finish up.•Some of the lockers are broken and has been for weeks.•One time I was using the bathroom and I had to call the front desk to bring me some toilet paper because my stall was out.•Some of the equipment does not get fixed right away. The step master on the 2nd floor has a drag in it that has been broke for the past month in a half. There are some other equipment in there that needs to be fixed as well.•In the guys sauna there’s trash always on the ground. One time I found a baggy with marijuana in it because I had dropped my phone and it landed right there next to it.Overall:As mentioned before I love working out here but I feel like in a way I’m being got for my money because as a member these issues aren’t being resolved and we pay a maintenance 2 months out of the year and the maintenance issues aren’t being taken care of from my knowledge I don’t know if it’s a staffing issue or what but they need to get some Planet Fitness workers in there because those workers don’t know how to stop cleaning. When I was working out there, every time I came in, no matter what time of the day it was nor how packed it was. They had workers cleaning bathrooms, windows, equipment everything. There was one time I was doing a lift and the equipment I was using was been cleaned while I was doing the lift. Ahaha And they always fixed their broken equipment right away. If it was broke Monday morning, it’ll be fixed Monday afternoon. If LAC did these things I would love it there even more. I know it may sound like I’m knit picking but like I said. If I pay to be on contract then I expect for everything to taken care of like Planet Fitness. Maybe it’ll change.

Been a member for a very long time; I’m talking about nearly a decade. I took a break for awhile and went to college, where I used the University’s gym at IU. I would go in during my leave home between the semesters. After college I went to planet fitness for a year but cancelled and came back to LAC. The lunk alarm didn’t make me quit PF; some lady telling me I couldn’t jump rope after I’ve been jump roping there for months is what made me quit. Treadmills get boring so oopsie daisy for being a jump lunk.Now, people complain about the equipment at LAC but they have more than enough in my opinion, broke or not. Only exception is that *^%#* sitting calf raise station. Fix it. It was broke when I left 5 years ago and the edge where the cushion used to be is sharp enough to cut through a limb. Granted that’s not too much of a deal given the other alternatives for calves. No. I give it 3 stars honestly because I’m poor and don’t think the price is exactly fair if you don’t utilize all the benefits. Also, $20 for a single day pass is INSANE. Like, gym is crack insane and yes, I’ve relapsed too many times on this (why else would I get a membership?). If I did Zoomba, spin class, and tanned enough to be the next president then I suppose it is worth the price. But I don’t. I just want my weight crack fix but I suppose they know that already. See ya in there!

I came over from the merger of the NA location. While I still miss our little gym, this place was quite the upgrade. They have everything you need and a staff that cares for the people and their goals. Tommy helped get me into lifting 10 years ago and Im thankful for him, the staff and this gym.

Truly enjoy going to the gym everyday! Switched to LAC from another local gym, and couldn’t be happier. Started off with the free trial, which was easy to set up. The staff were very friendly and informative when explaining gym rules and equipment. Very laid back and welcoming gym experience.There is a wide variety of equipment offered, and multiples of most things. On busy days there can be a wait for certain equipment, but that’s to be expected. Absolutely love the classes, and sauna! All the instructors really enjoy their jobs, and make an effort to connect with new and veteran students. The sauna is a great place to relax after pushing your limits.At first I was worried about the community at the gym, but I’ve actually had many friendly interactions there and met new friends!

I enjoy my time at LAC. Nobody bothers me, Im able to workout freely. Great classes and positive groups of people.My dad and I met the manager who was very kind and welcoming. I recommend LAC to everyone.The only negatives: One of the front desk staff, just one in particular, is always dazed out on his phone and on personal calls, last call was about some argument with his girlfriend (seriously, dude) I was trying to ask a quick question and he acted like I had bothered him at home.The rest of the staff though are GREAT.The machines could use a little cleaning, the metal has some grime and dirt buildup. Shower area in womens can get a little hairy, the bath mats havent been cleaned in awhile.All little things, way worth it, I wont go anywhere else.

So I originally posted a glowing 5 star review. Well a month later my eyes have been opened. I choose this place because they offer affordable childcare, as I can only workout and bring my 22mo old. Last week I walked in to find the old lady who works in the playroom in the mornings SCREAMING at my son. She had excuses but they were just that excuses. It boiled down to too many kids and she was overwhelmed. I immediately told the manager and he promised to investigate. I waited for a follow up that never came. Two days later I inquired for the manger to find he was on vacation. Now it’s been a week and I took my son back to the gym with different caregivers, and he was terrified. So much so that we couldn’t stay and even the other caregivers wondered at his behavior. I finally contacted the manager who has been gone only to find that nothing had been done nor will anything be done. I requested my son be taken off the membership so given the whole incident. He refused and said that he “maybe could write to corporate”. Then I said well I’ll just cancel everything. Which he told me I couldn’t do either. KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY

I used to love LAC until it came to canceling my membership. I got military orders and by law they have to cancel my membership (which they didn’t after giving them a copy of my orders TWICE). They charged me over a period of 6 months while I was in training so I didn’t really have access to my phone. I then presented another copy of my orders and they reported me to credit agency. This has been over two years and they are still trying to get money out me when they actually owe me money. I used to love this gym and I’m really disappointed in their management.

This business is ran so disgusting. They will take advantage of you financially anyway they can spin it. When you sign up you’re not signing up to be a member you’re signing up to be a “human atm”.

So where to start. Lac is a big commercial gym and yet in its way balances the hardcore aspect with the more planet fitness way as well. The policy sucks for canceling membership, but they tell you. Yeah the bathrooms arent the best all the time, but look at the amount of people there come on now the staff are only human. Most people are rather friendly staff are super helpful and its nice to see people smiling at their job. The equipment that is missing there is whatever because Im sure that if enough people asked they would at least look into it. 10/10 lac staff are awesome. Love the gym

Ive been going to this gym for around six years. What drew me in was the spin class. It was fun and I got to listen to great music while sweating like a pig. A year or so in I started lifting and I never felt intimidated by anyone or made to feel inferior due to my gender.The busiest times are work days from around 4-6pm and Saturdays around 10am-12pm. If you come during these times, dont hog equipment and dont be a dick about people working in with you.Staff is great and Ive never had a problem with any of them. The GM doesnt just sit in his office all day either. You will see him out on the floor taking out trash, cleaning toilets, refilling sanitizer, and fixing things that he can fix. Sometimes it can take a ridiculously long time for equipment to get fixed, but I think its usually due to waiting on parts.Overall, great gym and great people!

The club was good as far as equipment. I really hategiving any company access to my bank account. Here is why... when I cancelled my membership they charged me for another month and took it from my bank account. When I called to ask why... she said you agreed to it when you signed the form to cancel. I told her I was told that my membership would end that day with no charges or fees she said..too bad you should have read the form better. So if you cancel be sure to read the form closely .... it could say anything.

Best Gym in the City. Perfect for weight lifter with plenty of cardio options available for others. Great, knowledgeable staff. Jorge is the best - very personable and attentive. Great location as well.

Its a good gym if you want to go for a run or lift weights at a decent price

Been going to this gym for over two years and it has had a steady decline. Equipment is broke for extended periods of time, some staff are rude to customers. Their hours are not conducive to many who like to train early. I do believe there would be a positive ROI if they were open earlier or 24 hours. Each time I have submitted an email or submitted something in the drop box I never get a response. Unhappy with LAC and it could still be a great gym if they would just invest in the gym and in the long term customers.

Gym is overall nice and big, can always get a machine. My biggest complaint is the audio on the TVs on cardio machines is often broken and all have different channels and when you change channels or volume there is a loud annoying beeping sound. Cardio machines are getting old. Otherwise nice gym and nice people who work there.

Great club. However the machines are very dirty this is suppose to be a premier club. Please clean them more often, especially when there are many airborne diseases floating around. Also what happened to the hand sanitizer stations?

Unless you plan on going forever, dont sign up!!! Its impossible to cancel the membership and yes they still charge you after youve cancelled. You have to close your bank account to Make it stop and even then theyll put it in collections!! Stay away!!!!!!!!!!

Besides the fact that it is Jersey Shore, except worse, their policies are treacherous. Also all equipment, including bathroom, is far from fully functional and far from clean. They need a committed employee that shares members interest. I am 34 y/o and am unable to cancel my membership because when my wife and I signed up the LAC staff designated her as the primary account holder even though I am the one that gets gym membership fees deducted from my checking acct. When I went in to cancel, the staff told me that it doesnt matter how I feel and the entire story doesnt matter either because their WEAK ASS policy says a 34 y/o adult is unable to cancel their membership. A complete joke of an organization. Join the YMCA!

Its really too bad, such a nice gym, but so poorly mismanaged. These jokers charged me for the months they were closed for covid. I told Tommy(manager) that that was not fair and this joker said its like having a car payment. You still have to pay if it sits in the driveway. ZERO CLASS. Money isnt the issue. This joker took advantage of people in a time of crisis and that pisses me off. I hate bullies.

I love working out here its a no judgement type of place the staff are great at helping beginners. They have allthe latest equipmentYou can walk the treadmill while watching a movie on a big screen amazing.

I think if they zoned it off for the staff to focus on certain areas to clean the dust off and maintain the machines....they would be repairing them a lot less...I find myself cleaning dusty sweat off the equipment that is 1/4 inch thick.. years worth of build up😩made cleaning part of my workout now...

Never write reviews but the last 2 almost had Me not coming. The equipment is great. The gym had a cool atmosphere. Yes there is are dark colored people working the desk but who the fk cares ?? Great gym, never too crowded, and good equipment. new hours are great (open until 1130 pm weekdays).staff are sometimes lethargic but helpful when prompted

I like the separate areas to work out in. There are enough machines and weights to separate the meat heads from the ones just getting in shape. Locker room and tanning beds are nice. Theater room is my fav, makes time fly.

Needs more power racks and another deadlift platform but it beats planet fitness.

It is a nice place, but they dont tell you about the 36 month commitment you have to sign. I tried to cancel my membership, and they told me that I signed a contract for 36 months. They didnt tell me about any 36 months, so even if i dont show up for a year, they will still take out $40 a month. That is bogus. I mean, why would i sign up for a gym membership for 3 years. Betcha I wont ever go here again. and I hope you all think about the YMCA before you go here.

Large selection of machines that do not work properly or are just inoperable or have issues with media options. Total waste of money and time. I would recommend Snap Fitness or Workout Anytime instead warehouses collection of junk machines and equipment.

The equipment is hit miss. Not enough mens bathrooms, and Showers are never cleaned.

Dont join. Group schedule on website is from last winter. They cancel classes without announcing. Sometimes start early just because so you miss the beginning of class. Staff are not trained or just dont care. One worker had to be peeled from his phone just to listen to questions. I dont say answer because he didnt know any answers. No way to run a gym.

I have been working out at LAC for the last couple of months and I highly enjoy it.💪😊 There is a lot of space even during the busy hours, plenty of machines to use and plenty of weights. Also friendly staff.

Cancellation requires 30 days notice, so you have to cancel up to 60 days before the last day you want to visit to avoid wasting money. Also, you have to cancel in person. They make it as hard as possible to try to cheat their customers out of as much money as possible, so Id suggest not supporting this business. Save your money for a business that only charges for the time you want to use!

Almost always late opening on weekends, stay open 24hours like your competition and it wont be an issue.

The only problem I have is the crossfit play theyre music so loud that it disturb the other members. Qe have to turn up our headset to drown out theyre music. Im sure I couldnt bring In a blue tooth speaker and jam by the bench while I work out.

State of the art crossfit area, racquetball courts, and a large room thats used for free group sessions. There are a lot of machines available, although some of them need some maintenance. They have two FULL SIZED stairmasters, which is very rarely seen in a gym. I dont mean the crappy short vertical (basically elliptical) style stairmasters that dont have any steps, no, Im talking about the full-step reverse escalator style stairmasters. There is also a large cardio theater with various cardio machines where movies are shown with a large screen projector. Its isolated enough that you cant hear weight drops or grunts, and its never very crowded in there.

Large tool box. Bathrooms smell like poop. Employees dont care and its kinda dirty
