Cannot recommend this place enough! These folks care about quality craftsmanship and always do the most amazing mods and repairs on my shoes. They have resoled countless Louboutins and Ferragamos for me. They have given many of my beloved, worn shoes a new lease on life! I always go here for waterproofing, cleaning, having heel/toe taps installed. One time they were able to perform magic in removing some watermarks off of some patent leather and pony hair dress shoes. They have a new customer service system where you can text for updates/pickup and they can even send you pics when the job is complete. Don’t go anywhere else to get your shoes repaired!

They were able to fit me in for a zipper repair on my boot the same day as I needed them for a weekend event out of town. They were quick and did great work would highly recommend!

Michaels amazing - great service, went above and beyond the leather notebook embossing for a graduation gift. Hes taken care of all our leather goods, from shoe straps and soles to handbags. Highly recommended.

I brought them a pair of suede loafers that I thought I’d ruined. They were honest and up-front about the limitations of cleaning them and they turned out damn-near perfect. I took my 11 year-old Red Wing boots to be resoled and pointed out some salt damage on them. They said they’d take care of that. I picked up my boots and they, sincerely, look better than when I took them out of the box. They cleaned my wife’s leather bag and fixed stitching on another one all at prices that I’d consider a bargain. Never taking my stuff elsewhere. True craftsmen.

I have now called up here 3 times with the exact same answer every time.. the man says Im busy I will call you back and is not friendly. NEVER returns my calls. Never asks my name or number. I said do you need my number and he said no then doesnt say bye just hangs up. I am new to the area and have given them 3 chances and am now done.

Any small business is tough because each person has to carry so much weight in order for things to go perfectly and perfect is what makes a great business! To all the bad reviews and to any in the future: I am deeply sorry that your transaction went poorly and would like to extend a $50 in store credit to anyone that has a bad enough experience to write a review. Sometimes things dont go correct and I am truly sorry for that. We do many thousands of transactions a year and that is not the norm, most customers are very satisfied and leave happy. I suggest you look at the work while in the store and make sure you are happy. If not ask for Hal or Mike Jr and get a second opinion on what has been done. Also, a quick courtesy call to see if an item is ready can be helpful if you really have to have that item no matter what! We accomadate a lot of emergency jobs and do repairs for the biggest name Dry cleaners in town so we are very busy and sometimes things arent ready. These guys do a great service. Fixed my shoes for a good reasonable price. I would recommend them to people around the mt. Lookout/ Hyde park area. Great location and service. Going to take my jacket there to get fixed before the winter.

Fantastic service, very friendly. They restored my favorite pair of boots to perfect condition. Also, were able to save a cheaper pair of boots Id worn into the ground. The only downside was it was a couple more days than I was quoted, but I wasnt in a rush.

Dropped two pairs of shoes off to be resoled. The dress shoes were great as always. My boots were delayed a few days - no biggie. The issue is that they decided to put a thicker sole on the boot and didnt think to call to double check. I took the boots back and the solution presented to me was to donate the boots if youre unhappy with them. I even clarified with the man that thats what was being said to me before leaving.Bad business isnt making a mistake - bad business is when you dont try to fix the issue in any way. Shame since Ive been bringing shoes here 5 or 6 times per year for almost a decade. Look elsewhere if you want a place that stands behind their work.

10/22/2014 - I had the heel come unglued from a pair of shoes so I took them here to be repaired. They told me it would take a few days and gave me a card with the pick-up date. I went back on that day and what do you know, the shoes were ready. Friendly guy went over what they did and made sure I was happy with the work, I was. They also cleaned and buffed the shoes as well so they look really good. I am pleased with their work and would recommend them to friends and family.

I wish I could give Mt Lookout Shoe repair a 0 star rating. I have been a long time patron of this business but will never be back. After dropping off 3 pairs of shoes that needed repair, I was told theyd be ready in 1 week. I came to pick up my shoes after 1 week. Not a single pair was ready for pick up nor did the person working the counter have any idea where my shoes were located. I waited for approximately 10 minutes. After finally tracking down 1 shoe and hastily gluing the insole, the counter worker left. At this point, a man from the back came out and informed me he had found my other 1 other pair which wasnt ready but hadnt tracked down the final pair. After another 15 minutes of waiting, he came out with the last pair. At this pointed I requested he return my shoes, to which he replied that we werent appreciating what Im doing here, that one week isnt enough time, (even though thats what they told me), I think Im the best, and he yelled at me and my husband for making a scene. All of this in front of 3 other customers. Completely unprofessional and rude. If this shoe repair goes out of business, Mt Lookout Square will be better for it.

This place USED to be run like a professional business. No more. I will never be back.In the few minutes I was there, The owner yelled at customers to read the policy which now states any repair will take 7-10 days (!!) and there is an upcharge for rush orders. The owner also threw his employees under the bus twice in two minutes.As I was leaving without dropping off my shoes, he asked me if I had read the policy and understood the rush job upcharge. When I said I had, he told me to have a nice day (as in get out of my store).If you want a professional experience, go to Clarence Howell in Pleasant Ridge. My shoes were ready in less than 24 hours, for less money.

My wife and I went here this afternoon to pick up three pairs of shoes. We were told they would be ready today after dropping them off last week. None of them were ready and they took thirty minutes to find them. By the time they had found them we asked for the shoes back. Instead of apologizing for failing to deliver on their promise, we were accused of making a scene and verbally harassed. I am telling everyone I know never to go here. As we were trying to pay for the repair they just hastily completed when we came in and caught them flat footed, the guy just kept yelling at us that he is the best. Not in my opinion.

I simply needed new leather straps made for a pair of sandals. After 6 weeks no work was done, despite calling, stopping in 3 times, and constantly being promised a completion date at the end of the week. I finally gave up and went in to pick up my sandals, and was told by the staff that they didnt care and I wasnt really a customer anyway. With that attitude and service, I doubt they will have any customers left.

My boots were falling apart. Holes; my feet were blowing out the sides, but I I didnt have money to replace them. They patched them right up!

GREAT SERVICE. So friendly and kind. I was in a rush as I was traveling and they looked after me so well.

The worst...Sad because they used to be among the best. I keep trying them (convenient location), and keep being disappointed. I have not had a pair of shoes ready for pick-up at the promised time in ages. Have gone out of town without shoes I needed, because they were not ready. Have had riding boots not ready for horse show days (a simple shoe shine that couldnt get done, as promised). Found a new place (Clarence Shoe Repair on Montgomery). Bye-bye Mount Lookout Shoe Repair.

They did a great job resoling my boots!! I have the UGG Seton and it was very difficult for me to find a Vibram sole dealer. They did a great job, the boots are great, and the service was amazing!!!! I will always buy UGGs and have them serviced here!

I took a simple pair of boots here to get taken in. When I picked them up 10 days after they were supposed to be done, I wasnt happy. Theyre still too wide on my calves to wear without looking ridiculous. Then I was charged $75 for the job! They were very rude about working with me and the only alternative was to leave the boots, which I now wish I had since I cant wear them. I had previously taken a much more complicated pair of suede pair of boots to Tri-County Shoe Repair on Northland Blvd., and not only was it only $25, they were done when he said they would be (with a phone call to let me know!) and they were done right. I will be taking all my business there from now on and encouraging my friends to do the same.

Like some of the other reviews I’ve read for this shop, I have consistently been condescended to here. When I was accused today of having no common sense, guess what, I took my shoes elsewhere.

They have done good work on one shoe repair for me.

Asked for cash up front, gave me a date to pick up, one week away. Not ready, I returned three days later they claimed it would be a few minutes they were just finishing. The repair wasnt professional looking and some additional scuffs were visible. Not sure I will return but they are wearable...

The pricing was rushing. I was screamed at and hung up on when I called to check if they were ready. Poor customer service and little organization- took 10 minutes to find shoes right there.

HORRIFIC customer service - man was rude, condescending, and and I was charged for the worst repair job I have ever seen. I think my heels are now in WORSE shape than before. Left heel is wobbly, missing more beading that before. Save your wits and buy new shoes.
