As much as I wanted to like Salzanos, Im honestly disappointed. I went to Salzanos for a traditional wet shave, expecting it to be very traditional since this is an Italian barber but was wrong. The people were great, very nice and talkative if only the service was as good. The experience started off fine, they removed most of my beard with clippers but then took a foil shaver to my face and it was all down hill from there. After that, the guy layered up my face and I expect he would take the shave the rest of the way with a straight razor but didnt. After lathering up, he used a hot towel which is a nice touch but that knocked down all of the lather before the shave. Rather than shave my face with the straight razor, he basically touched up a few spots and left a lot of hair. I really wish my experience would have met my expectations, it was disappointing to see a traditional barber that cant do a proper wet shave well.

Such an amazing experience! Since I was traveling over 12 hours for my wedding, coordinating activities for my groomsmen on the day of was a bit of a challenge. My best man called and spoke to Guido and he agreed to come in on his day off to take care of us. I ended up having Antonio take care of me, and take care of me he did. Not only was the shave amazing, he added in a haircut as a gift. They truly made the day special and Im very grateful for them. My new wifes family lives locally and I will make sure to always go visit Antonio when we come in to visit!

Smooth.That was my face after my first experience with Guido. My wife had bought me a straight-razor shave and a haircut from Salzanos, and Guido was the man to do it. If you are a guy, and youve never gotten a straight-razor shave before, start saving your pennies now, because it is an awesome experience. Guido shaved my face 4 times and I havent had such a smooth face since before puberty.Since that first time, Ive only had my hair cut by Guido. Salzanos is an old school barbershop, like the place I used to get my hair cut when I was a kid. Theres always a sports-related show on the TV, theres a shoeshine, and they still have the barber chairs they opened the shop with.You cant go wrong with this place.

Guido gave me the best haircut. This has got to be the first time ive come back from the barber, looked in the mirror, and not had that feeling of oh what have I done. In fact, I made sure to go out that night I looked so good. Ill be coming back for the next cut.

Had Guido give me a cut and a shave, both were more meticulous than any Ive had before. Great shop overall, smells like barber shop and has a good feel to it. Only word of advice is that it is cash only.

Shout out to my man Tony who not only didnt mention the heinous fart I ripped in his chair, but casually aimed the blow drier at my crotch for about 15 seconds while pretending to be distracted by the tv to save us both. True professional.Haircut is also always on point if you care about that sort of thing.
