The barber was a nice man.He said hes retiring relatively soon but Ill definitely return to give him our business. Believe he said hes been a barber for 64 years. Very talkative and engaging man.God Bless the small business man.

Fiance went in for a haircut and they refused to give her one and just sat there watching TV for 20 minutes with no one else there because shes a woman and said you sure you dont want the nail salon next door. Unbelievable

Victor gave me a fresh clean cut. Walked in, gave him my lengths and the rest was on him. He noticed my balding area and told me I was in good hands. Great atmosphere, definitely has an old school barber shop feel to it.

After buzzing my own hair for years, my wife convinced me to get a good haircut before a friends wedding. I called around the morning of (good planning right?) and most places were too busy for me. Victor made time for me same day and gave me a much needed hairstyle update. Fair price & great service, definitely recommend.

Ive been going to Reds (formally Kenwood Hair Design) for almost 50 years. Yep. 50! Red and Charlie have been there the whole time. Vic cuts my hair occasionally now too. Im not picky on who cuts my hair. They all do a great cut. Great place, good hair cuts, reasonable prices. Recommend.

Just a heads up they are cash/check only which is not a problem or big deal just want to make sure others are prepared with cash :)

Let me start out by typing that this review is written to describe the quality of services rendered, the general feel, and upkeep of the establishment visited.Yesterday, I took my boyfriend to Reds for a haircut, which included completely shaving his head bald and to trim his beard. While everyone was nice and welcoming- I think the service he had didnt fully meet his/my expectation. He looked great but, upon closer inspection of the cut received- his beard was uneven, the blending of hair near the ear didnt line up properly as he wears glasses, there were pieces of hair left uneven at the bottom of his beard, his eyebrows had additional fly-away hairs not trimmed, his ears were not shaved, and his mustache had fly-away hairs. In my opinion this happened because his barber sat down the entire time and looked in a mirror while performing his services. I believe you have to stand up so you see the clients face, otherwise youll miss things. I finished trimming the remainder of issues we found after returning home...I did leave a nice tip; however, my boyfriend was perturbed that we had to fix the aforementioned items that a well trained barber would normally catch. An additional comment: if someone states that they want their beard trimmed and to keep the fullness in the beard, dont shave all of it, frame the persons face by standing up and providing guidance to the client so they feel confident in your abilities to help them look their best. When someone sits in your chair they trust you completely...can you do them a kindness and fulfill their expectations? Maybe some other time I suppose...lets see.Now to the establishment, definitely an old school barber shop in terms of chairs, decor, and tools used. Cool vibe I suppose, since being open since the late 1950s. Assessing the shop, it was generally clean; however, an excessive amount of hair was on the rug upon entering the shop and hair could be found on the chairs in the waiting area. There was also a lot of hair around an empty chair (probably from an earlier client) that wasnt picked up, probably reserved for end of day cleaning. My only negative point on this is...please start to accept cards, not everyone carries cash around nowadays (and I didnt see a sign notating the cash only payment option).Thanks. ✌

I walked into read looking for a haircut and I got a spiritual intervention!! I came back after initially getting a haircut by red and then had the privilege and honor of getting my haircut by his son Victor. Needless to say I was in a mood to ask questions and get some advice. He left me with some of the most life changing advice ive ever gotten. A couple highlights: your job is to take care of Gods children and Gods job is to take care of you. he also told me about the set-aside prayer which was awesome. Oh by the way my girlfriend made about 10 compliments on how sexy my haircut looked so it was the definition of a great experience. Trust me Ill be coming back and you should try them out to weather for a haircut or maybe even a little advice!! ;)

Reds Barber Shop was a great experience! We did not have to wait before being seated to get my hair cut. The Barbers working there are all very polite and sociable. Probably the best hair cut Ive ever had, and I dont usually come out satisfied with the haircut I get. Definitely will be returning when I need my next hair cut :)

The best Gentlemans in the city, Im in my twenties and I have been coming here since I was 5. All the guys are equally talented and professional and walk ins are a plus. And the its so affordable they should be charging way more for the time and care they put in.

Hes been cutting hair for as long as I can remember and has a healthy following of patrons. Its a mans no frills barber shop, dont expect to have your hair washed and a neck massage. Sit down, snip snip, vacuum, and gone. But youll never be disappointed with the cut.

I came in for a haircut, also requested a beard trim and the barber replied Nahh, you can do it yourself when you get home. Probably will not be back due to not getting what I asked for. Beard trims are standard at any barber shop I have ever been to.

Ive been going there for 41 years. Ive followed them since they were in the orignal Kenwood Plaza. Prices have been good and they know how to cut hair. Ive never had a problem. The stylists are great as well. Keep up the excellent work!!!

They did an amazing job cutting my sons hair. Took the time to talk to him like any other customer. Very patient with him and his almost 4 year old wiggles. Even cut his puppys hair.

Been going there for a few years now. Ive been to great clips and several other so-called high-falutin places, and lemme tell ya... experience is what counts. These other places send their frou-frou kiddies off to beauty school, only to come back and charge fifty bucks for something that looks like greasy, chumpy police bait.Not these guys. They give a good, gentlemanly haircut, and are easy to talk to, and are a good ole fashioned shop, like a real barber shop, and the prices are simply unbeatable. You WILL NOT find a cheaper haircut unless your mother in law does it or something. ... and its every bit as good as the frou-frou kiddies in the fancy places that try to push product on you after the cut.
