I’ve had Jelly Digital services since January 2021 and have absolutely loved their service. I used to have Cox and would suffer from a lot of degradation, especially when everyone was working from home and being home schooled due to the pandemic. I’m currently writing this review while there is a thunderstorm outside and neither the rain or lightning has disrupted service. My work requires a strong consistent signal all day long and we definitely get that. Everyone can be online at the same time and it doesn’t affect our speed. Can’t say enough positive things about them. I was skeptical at first and kept both Cox and Jelly Digital together for a few months to test out. I had Jelly Digital straight to my home office and Cox for the wifi throughout the house. Several times I had to switch to Jelly Digital because the signal would go out with Cox, and I was paying $97 for 200mb with them. I didn’t know they switched my plan and would throttle it during peak times. Something Jelly Digital does not do. After 2 months I finally got around to cancelling Cox for good. I honestly haven’t thought about my internet for months because it works that great. I’m writing the review because some of my neighbors inquired about them and they really are the best option in Chula Vista and anywhere they provide service.
I’ve only been using Jelly for a few weeks but we’re really quite happy so far. The price was great and John and Norman were super helpful. John gave some great guidelines and advice during installation. They seem very willing to assist in order for you to have great service. Recommended A+
Been using Jelly Internet for a few months now and after a few hiccups, and some issues on my end, things are going great. They are definitely in theyre growing phase and may take a bit of time to get back to you as it seems the employees are taking on multiple roles simultaneously to meet company needs. That being said the technicians I have spoken to on the phone and in person have been very respectful, helpful and kind. I was on the verge of being a Karen over something that turned out to be 80% my device throttling data on its own, but they were patient and helped me out. Despite the fact that my laptop is not their responsibility they spent time to try and help me, eventually I figured it out but they impressed me with their professionalism. Youve got good people Jelly.
This has been the worst experience from beginning to end. Starting off with the installation date. They gave me a window of 3-5pm and no one bothered to call me. Its only after I called them and they initially mentioned they were running late on a job and said they WOULD be there. I had to call back at 6:30pm and they advised they would stop by next day and apologized. Next days window was 9-11am. Tech shows up at 11:10am. The tech says he was unaware I was in a 2 story apartment building and did not have a proper ladder (this is disclosed in your initial appointment set up). He then advised he would only be leaving a connection and asked if I had a router, I advised him I was never advised I needed my own router, and then said Well... Ill see if I have a extra router. No router was provided. Install tech left and did not even show me the connections speeds. I reached out to their number and was advised they would bring me a router next day, that never happened. By day 3 I purchase my own router, paid $80 dollars for it. Once I connect my router I find out my speeds are not as promoted 200/100mbps. I reach out to them because my speeds are not as promoted even connecting via direct ethernet to their connection. I was at 80/10. I kept communicating via text and email and only get responded sporadically. I was even told that the reason their connection could not be optional its because the router has to be set in a bridge mode. Im computer literate and I asked to provide me instructions on how to do that. No response. I honestly was trying to help a local company but this service is the worst Ive seen in any industry in a very long time. Ive been in the sales/customer service industry for over 20 years I suggest you stay away from this company or contract them at your own risk. I gave them a 1 star because I could post this without at least rating 1.
I did not have any internet, i text the company they had quick response and got it fixed quickly. There was a power outage. They are also proactive. They came again to the house to point the dish to another location which was closer and more powerful. I now have a faster internet upload and download. Super value!
Very frustrating customer service experience! Been trying to hold off for this comment but I cannot take anymore the way how they respond to their clients. They ignored my texts and email, as I am following-up almost daily until now the letter of approval for access to the property that they are asking from me as company policy, so they can continue to schedule the installation but still waiting for that email. It has been a week already from the supposed installation date of May 18 and no clear date yet for thefinal install. My original schedule was April 12 but has to be moved due to various reasons. I received no prior message that April 12 was only a partial install. If they are really serious to succeed in this business, they better start paying attention to their customer. I used to work in a customer service industry and learned that it only takes 1 person to lose 10 more clients. And the other way around as well, its easy to promote them if they are really good. I will update this comment once they start paying attention to this customer.
UPDATE 1 - June 22, 2021: Norman the owner of Jelly Digital reached out to me by phone shortly after my original review, which surprised me and I REALLY appreciate. Norman offered to make things rights and reroute the cable to be hidden under the roof eaves. At first I did not want to accept his offer as I eventually want to run the CAT 5E cable through the attic and inside the wall for the cleanest possible install. After a little talking I did accept the offer, in big part because my wife told me to, haha. Norman was being gracious enough to reach out to me personally and offering to correct the issue I had and ultimately we compromised Norman and/or team would stop by again and correct the routing issue whenever an install was cancelled or there was some down time, as to not affect their already chaotic and backlogged schedule (I had to wait nearly a month before my own install). Jelly Digital is a local ISP and being a local myself, am cheering for them to make it big and complete with the Cox/ATT Duopoly in the region. After my conversation with Norman my wife was curious about my original review (un-edited below) and after reading it, she concluded I was more-or-less being a, and I quote, Karen about the situation. While I was upset about the unexpected install delay, and the cable routing that was not to my personal standards/expectations, the the network connection HAS exceeded my expectations, and made me relieved to be able to escape Cox/ATT.I sincerely hope Jelly Digital grows as an ISP, and that the issues I brought up in my original review serve as lessons learned so that future customers (including family members referred to Jelly by me) get the superior service and workmanship Norman and Jelly Digital aim to and are no doubt capable of providing.I raised the review rating to 5-Stars due to what I consider excellent customer service by Norman and in good faith that my criticisms will be constructive and no longer be an issue for customers going forward.Original Review:First impressions with Jelly Digital were NOT good. (read till end, there are pros too). Scheduled installation was June 17 from 3PM-5PM. On June 17 I took half day off work to receive the installers at my home, 5PM came and went and no one showed up and no one called. I chatted on their website and texted their support number. At 5:20PM I was asked Did the installer not arrive?, at around 5:30PM I was told, the installation before mine had taken too long and my installation would NOT take place on June 17, and was moved to June 18th early. I was VERY upset that not only did they not inform me of this delay/reschedule until I contacted THEM, but I also took time off work for no reason at all.June 18 comes, I was only told early so had no idea when to expect them. Text their number again and was told they should arrive shortly. In any case, they arrived at around 10:30AM which is early enough. The install was smooth and relatively quick. I was in the house taking care of other things while one of the installers was on the roof and the other where the PoE (Power over Ethernet) device was to be set up. Initially my Download speed was under 60Mbps while upload was 100+ Mbps (I paid for 200/100). Eventually DL speed did increase, I havent been testing how stable or close to promised speeds it is.I walked out with the installers to see them off and when I look at my roof I noticed they simply laid the cable across my roof from the dish to the wall where it enters the house. they did not tuck the cable under the eaves of the roof to try to conceal it. I understand CAT 5E cable is not free, an that my house isnt all that good looking to begin with but cmon Jelly Digital! Combined with the install delay, the sloppy cable management of the install left a bad impression.I have only used the internet to browse webpages and stream Netflix at 1080p so far, and the UPLOADS have been AMAZINGLY stable, downloads have been DECENT at 60-150Mbps. Ill wait a little longer before I reach out to them regarding DL speeds stability.
Well... Ive tried to hold off on this for a while but I cant anymore. I am a gamer, so my internet service needs to be real good for me to play multiplayer games and enjoy a non-disruptive experience. Unfortunately at this very moment, that is not the case and it hasnt been for a few weeks now. An upgrade went through but ever since then Ive been hitting speeds as shown in the screenshot - Ive seen it hit 260 Mbps down and 100 Mbps up though, just not recently. With the current situation I am constantly disconnected from my online games such as Guild Wars 2.Edit 9-19-21: Internet issues are being addressed. Streaming has improved.
Well at this point I am very frustrated, that I’ve come to change opinion on how good jelly digital is. At first it was great then my internet just started getting slower and slower to this point it is unbearable. I feel like I constantly have to bug technical service for some answers and even then I still don’t get them. They advertise 200 mbps but on the first day it was only about to 140mbps which was fine I wasn’t going to complain I could game freely without any hassle. But a month in was already dropped to 50-30 mbps on average and that’s what I had to work with. Yes you can stream and play with that but why advertise 200 and not give even half of that. Right now I can’t even get into the lobby for apex. But this is still better than Cox internet.
This has been a great and experience. From signing up to installation. Communication has been 10/10 which is very important to me. They were able to squeeze me in for a next day installation on my request. The internet speed takes a few days to meet its full potential although I’m already reaching higher speeds than I had ever reached with AT&T.
I started using Jelly digital a couple months ago, and to be completely honest there were a lot of hitches in the beginning due to a lack of staff and towers, however recently they increased their manpower and added a new tower in mount Miguel which i am connected to. This new tower fixed all of my problems and now i am very happy with my internet at an average of 180 download and around 100 upload. I live on a hill so usually it’s very overpriced for my wifi, i used to pay $60 a month with ATT for 50mbps which when revived was only about 35, additionally this was the only isp i could use and it was the fastest speed, but now that jelly is here i can finally have good internet. Overall i had a rough start but i feel that as a company Jelly Digital made up for it and now i’m comfortable with my speed and latency. Thanks Jelly!
Well just had my jelly installed for few days there some hiccups until they got the configuration right and there you go fast internet no cap no throttling best price on the market right now no contracts 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I would like to start off by saying I am quite happy with Jelly Digital internet service, for reasons I will mention below.I have had both Cox and AT&T internet service in the 91913 and 91915 area codes (Otay Ranch and Eastlake area). I will mention my grief when I had those services. When I had Cox internet (91913), I started out paying around $59.99 for the 150 mbps package. Unfortunately, after a year, it went to almost $90 for the same package. The other downfall with Cox is that the upload speed is capped at around 35 mbps. Upload speeds are equally important as download speeds, especially during Covid when everyone is using Zoom or Microsoft Teams which requires a lot up bandwidth to maintain your video connections and decent resolution. With AT&T, since fiber is not available in my area (91915), I was limited at the 45 mbps connection. While the price didnt go up from the ~$60 we were paying, the upload speed was capped at around 10 mbps.Jelly Digital has solved my problems!!!!I found out about Jelly Digital in July of 2020. After reading up on the technology, I decided to give it a shot. I signed up at the end of July of 2020, but wasnt able to get an install until October 2020 (Covid-related issues).Jelly Digital uses wireless technology, similar to mobile phone services, to deliver internet connections over the traditional copper wire underground. Jelly Digital installed a small radio and dish on the top of my roof, similar to a satellite TV dish, and ran an ethernet cable to my home-office. Since the radio on the dish already has a modem, the ethernet cable plugs directly into my router (I have a TP-Link Deco M9 mesh router system which covers 3000 square feet).Although there were some hiccups the first few weeks, Jelly Digital has been right there to assist and fix the first few issues we were having. One of the most favorable aspects is their customer service. Since they are a small company, the customer service and communication has been excellent. Norm and John from the company have personally been there with questions, concerns, or issues that may arise. Customer service is available via text message/SMS, e-mail, online chat, or phone calls. It definitely beats AT&T and Cox by a long shot.As for speeds, the screenshots speak for themselves. I have seen over 200 mbps download, and over 150 mbps upload with the service! The price is also less than both Cox and AT&T. Having the blazing-fast upload speed has made all of the difference since I have been working from home and have had to use more bandwidth while uploading files to my work network, or conduct Microsoft Teams conference calls while sharing my screen and video at the same time.In summary, I am happy to support a local small business that has provided me with the speeds I want and need, along with great customer service at a great price. I would say that if you are in their coverage area, give them a shot if you are unhappy with your experience with AT&T or Cox.
Just to point out, this is a positive and praiseworthy review from someone who doesnt yet subscribe to their product and service. I am convinced that were in the If we will become their customer, but rather when will we become a customer of theirs. From our first contact, Jelly Digital was very quick to reply to our inquiries. Just know that it was well after business hours, and were not even a customer of theirs. Imagine how wed be treated as paying customers when theyve already shown how much they value great customer service. Theyve since been very prompt in their text & email responses to us, professional, theyve never been pushy or aggressive, and theyve always answered all our inquiries. We truly feel that they just want to provide a great & reliable ISP service, for a reasonable price, and help those who cannot afford the rising costs of high-speed internet service with an alternative to the large, greedy profit seeking bullies who have a stronghold here in the South Bay area of San Diego. I am convinced that the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego Padres, SANDAG, MTS, and the Mexico Internet Exchange all wouldnt be clients or supporters of Jelly Digital if they didnt deliver on their service. While this company is in the sales/service business, we are even more impressed that, to our pleasant surprise, they havent not been pushy, aggressive, or bothersome with their sales tactics just to land another client. For that, we are most impressed with, and believe that, in due time, we will be one more happy & satisfied customer of theirs. Keep up the great job Jelly Digital!
We switch to Jelly Digital from Cox Gigablast. The speed we were getting from Cox was horrible and Cox admitted that they can’t guaranty faster speed in IB because they still don’t have the fiber optic available which would improve their service. It was a challenge at first with Jelly due to aiming the dish to their tower but the crew never stop working until they got it corrected. Jelly support tech is outstanding and will continue to work till they get your internet working. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants fast internet without any cap.
Hands down worst internet provider i’ve dealt with in the last 10 years.
Great service for the Chula Vista area. After trying Hughes network for 2 times, I definetly doubted about this company, especially since they are new in the area. However, I decided to take the risk because my mobile hotspot was not enough to cover my familys needs. My wife and I have been working from home for the last 7 months and now my kid has started virtual learning. Originally the company mentioned 3-5 weeks installation. However they installed everything by week 3. Great service, speed is phenomenal, great customer service, very friendly installation personnel. Our work is very internet intensive handling simultaneous systems like SAP and Oracle. Hope this lasts long. Highly recommended it.
Excellent customer service, attentive staff and very knowledgable! Excellent service and better value compared to other ISPs in the area.
Went from driving a 40hp VW with Cox, To a 500hp corvette with Jelly.Speed is awesome!!!!!!
I finally got rid of Cox, I love this guys
Full disclaimer: I work here and I love it!
Full disclosure. I work at Jelly Digital.
Great service!
