We have tried for over a year to get through to these guys... they have a lock on many good shows in our area and never throw the local bands a bone.... likely because they have made leveraged deals beforehand from whatever group/band/management company they decide to inject as openers. bigger shows are usually in the form of ripened, well branded national touring bands, and everytime one of these bigger acts comes through town, its the same thing: we politely ask, get a canned response that essentially translates into hey guys, were winning, fu*k off! -- no idea why we try anymore... and moreover why they even respond at all. Typical in the consolidated music business. Important to note: cant keep a good group down forever, and given the chance, we will eventually get to the higher levels of this business and spread the word about MI, their stonewall rep here in our area, and well do business with their competitors given the chance.
