Make sure you find the right person to do your nails. I was annoyed that the tech couldn’t get straight lines.. and kept doing it over and over. I lost patience since I was there for two hours.. I’ll have to get it redone

My 2nd bad experience! I visited V.I.P nails for the 1st time with a friend as a treat. I got a mani, pedi and my eyebrows waxed. The individual that worked on my eyebrows must not have been experienced because she messed up on or lmy eyebrows. As a way to compensate me, the management offered me a $20 gift certificate. No expiration date was noted on the gift certificate. Due to covid-19, I had not go back to utilize the gift certificate. I went back today and had a conversation with the owner about utilize the gift certificate for services, and she refused to honor it. She stated it must have expired and walked away to attend to someone else. I waited for about 10 mins to ask her when I saw she was free to confirm with her that no expiration date was stated on thr gift certificate. She refused to honor the $20, so I decided to take my service somewhere else.

Worst customer service and product Ive seen in the southloop. $50 DIP LOOKS GOOD 2 DAYS TOPS. Im not sure if they are using old product or just the cheapest. Very rude, disrespectful and has no business soliciting for REAL money. Had an issue with my nails, call and they hang up without cause and when in the place, no one speaks english suddenly. GO FIGURE. I strongly advise everyone, to not waste your money. This is how my nails look after 1 week. Shame on them.

I wanted get my nails done on a whim and they were open on Sunday and took me immediately. I got a full acrylic set and worked with Jason. He did a nice job and wasnt over aggressive when it came to filing down my nails. My nails looked fabulous and pretty. The price was really good and reasonable too $35. They had a lot of walk-ins. My nails lasted for 2.5 weeks and then started to lift almost completely off. But I always have my hands wet and I changed my nail color using acetone and my nails werent filed heavily during the acrylic nail install. I got them redone with a new full set and they again look really pretty.

Second bad experience and will not be returning after being a loyal customer. Scheduled appointment for 12:30 pm. The woman at the front desk scheduled me wrong for 12:00 pm. At 12:00 pm, they call and ask where I’m at. I responded that my appointment was scheduled for 12:30 and not 12:00.I get there at 12:35 and they say that Anna did not want to wait 30 minutes and has taken another customer and I should’ve been there at 12. Again, my appointment was at 12:30. Wendy at the front desk scheduled it wrong and because of that they told me to find someone else when I have been going to the same person. Wendy never apologized and her along with the other woman kept indicating it was my fault that I could not keep my appointment even though they scheduled it wrong. I would not recommend this place at all especially if you have been a loyal customer.

Great place highly recommended I took my wife there to get her nails done and they did a wonderful job the staff are great and make you feel comfortable best place in Chicago

I always have a good experience here and my nails come out nice all the time. They take walk ins but I normally call the same day and make an appointment so I don’t have to wait. There was a past review that mentioned they didn’t think this nail shop liked African Americans but I am African American and the staff always treats me well and with respect. A few of my friends also come here and love the service. I highly recommend this nail shop!

You get more for what you pay here, e.g. timed foot massage, cooling mask, scrub, hydrating gloves, heel wax. Other salons will charge you extra for these. Here they come with the package. I was impressed. Atmosphere is like your typical salon.

They nickel and dime you for absolutely everything. My entire experience felt rushed and was not relaxing at all. They were overbooked and short staffed so I was hurried out of the shop even though I wasn’t satisfied with the services.

I am usually very apprehensive about going to new nail salon but I had such a great experience at VIP! I got a regular pedicure and full set with acrylic powder. I love my nails! I was able to get an appointment within 30 min. Super fast and professional service. The salon was also super clean and all of the clients were spaced out. I will definitely be going back.

They were really rude to and unprofessional. I don’t think they like black peoples here. Also I asked before they started my nails if they could do my nails like the 1st picture and the assured me they could. They did not do my nails correctly at all. I kept telling her it was wrong. I asked for hearts but the shape is completely wrong as well as color

I found all of the staff at the salon to be professional and attentive. And contrary to two other reviews, my boyfriend and I, two African Americans, had no problems and the best of service. I will definitely return when in the area.

The negative reviews are true. I do not believe they treat African-Americans well at this establishment. I came in for a walk in and I will admit they were nice and serviced me that same day but I felt rushed the ENTIRE time. I ended up paying over $100 for a half done pedicure and acrylic nails. The nail technician who did my acrylic nails did not clean my nails or buff it before she installed the nails. I looked over at other customers and it seemed like they were getting their nails cleaned before their installations. I asked the technician why I didnt get the same service and she said it would be an extra $8. To get your nails cleaned!?? Why was my service so expensive if I could not get the basic treatment on my nails?! I called back and they said normally you are supposed to get it done then someone else spoke to me on the phone and said no thats not a service they provide for acrylics. This place does not value the customer and they charge you for everything. I will not go back and I caution anyone who decides to go. I wish I believed the reviews before going.

Acrylic nails are always lopsided, the girl at the front desk is so rude, and they are always rushing you. Plus my foot was bleeding! Not worth your time or money!! This is my neighborhood but unfortunately I will have to find somewhere else to be serviced!

Ive been to a lot of salons in search of the best dip powder manicure. The ladies here are welcoming, the chairs are comfy, great music is always playing and most importantly - they are skilled at what they do!! Thank you VIP NAILS SPA! I will be bringing my visiting friends and family here. PS - bring cash for your tip after a job well done!

VIP is my favorite nail salon in the south loop. Clean, quick and well priced.

Lisa did a great job, she was quick and they were done well. I usually have to have the tech correct something, either missed a spot, too far from the cuticle or shape is lopsided. This was my first time but I will be back. Only negative is the color choices for the dipping powder could have been better.

I love that they honor appointments... But I DO NOT LIKE GETTING MY NAILS DONE WHILE TRYING TO ENJOY MY PEDICURE.

Love this place. This was my 1st time at this salon and it was a great experience. Everyone is leery these days amid the pandemic but they have a shower curtain-esque divider between pedicure chairs. Sterilized tools used and disposable nail file/buffers. I picked a specialty pedicure because hey these feet have been quarantined...I picked the lemon scrub. So fragrant even through my two mask. The scrub massage followed by the lemon butter massage, then hot towel...ah-mazing. Btw, the scrubs and butters are in individual containers that are thrown out after your use. After all that more cream was placed on my heels and held in place with plastic. They are baby soft now. The manicure was great, plexiglass divider was between us. Daniel my nail technician placed these gloves after cutting the fingers out on my hand that had lotion or cream inside that was warmed. I asked for a design I had a picture of and Daniel knew his limitations and asked for help which I appreciated. Everything turned out great, I would definitely return.

I love this nail salon!! I have been coming to VIP for over a year and I have always had excellent service from everyone - I typically do a spa pedicure (they have a bunch of fun enhancements to the pedicures) and a no chip manicure. The decor is also so cute and instagrammable. Would recommend to anyone in the Chicago area!

VIP NAILS SPA is fantastic. Always feel pampered and well taken care of. The staff is wonderful. Amber is my favorite stylist and happy to have found her. Anna is great for color. Worth a check out for sure!

They take covid very serious at this nail salon and I appreciate that. I’ve had different nail techs for every one of my appointments and I have no complaints. They are fast and efficient. The pricing is high but with the location and everything happening in the world it is expected.

VIP nails is an excellent nail salon in the South Loop.

I loved the pedicure! They did a great job. However, my nails not so much. They didn’t paint my nails fully to the sides and one day later I have acrylic lifting causing gaps on the side areas.

They charge you for everything including ripping you off...... I went for a full set & pedicure .. my pedicure was $33 but I wasn’t understanding how that got to $88 & my full set was no more than $45 ... and I had polish residue still on my hands! Never again!

The worst manicure in the world!!!!In the middle of the manicure I was forced to pay and as I refused to pay the tip upfront the woman got really mad!She just left the nails in terrible condition and left and never came back.

Nice service but bubbles under nails started to show day 1. The polish started stripping too.

They overcharge you completely. I just got a no chip with 1 design on each hand. They catch an attitude quickly with you if you have any suggestions. I felt rushed while trying to choose my color the lady already started my nails before I could pick a color. They also have a poor time understanding you since theyre english speaking isnt that good. Definitely never going here again this happened twice.

Unfortunately I was treated rudely for no apparent reason, will not be returning ever ! Do not waste your time here!

I have been having my nails done here for quite a while now and I can honestly say that I have had wonderful service every time and I always get complement on my nails by people. I tell them that this is the only salon I will go to.

Had a pedicure today for my first visit to the new VIP Nail Spa in the South Loop and it was fabulous. Beautiful new spa. Lovely staff. Reasonable prices. Pedicure included leg and shoulder/neck massage. Excellent experience. Highly recommend!

Kelly is my favorite technician. She is meticulous, attentive and just plain nice.The shop is clean the personnel is mostly friendly and offering a cold drink is a nice touch.

BEST PEDICURE I HAVE EVER HAD. My fiance and I had the VIP pedicure ($35). Definitely worth the upgrade! It was his first pedicure experience and he definitely left spoiled. Even got a nice shoulder massage as my toes were drying.

Fanny did a phenomenal job on my nails! All the ladies here are super sweet, knowledgeable & professional. You even receive a complimentary shoulder & hand massage at the end of your appointment! Also super affordable for the location!

The employee rushed through my manicure, pushed back two of my cuticles too far which caused bleeding, and then barely buffed during the “shiny buff” that costs $3 extra. Also, my girlfriend got a dip manicure, several weeks later one of the nails peeled off, and she saw there was a large dark spot under her nail. She then peeled off the other nails and found dark spots under each nail. This place is gross.

I usually come here and there is no wait to get my nails done since I can be a little inefficient with time management. They offer you beverages like water, tea, etc. Disposable, one time use products, professional, prompt, and classy!

They did a great job on my dip manicure and spa pedicure! Best price in the area, great customer service, and a wide array of services! I will definitely be coming back!

This is my go-to salon in the South Loop. No extreme frills, but they do a GREAT job, and are super nice. My no-chips last forever! Highly recommended for a neighborhood nail salon.

Had a regular mainicureon Monday evening,on Wednesday evening one of the nails, half the Polish totally off. Went back on Thursday was told they dont guarantee Regular Manicure even though the nails looked half done, I have been there when people came back and they had to be redone as mine had to be. Very dissatisfied with having to haggle over them being done again. Not sure I will continue to go there. And after all of this Tracy the manager had an attitude about correcting them.Was not very comfortable.

Went In for a mani and pedi it was amazing! It was my boyfriends first, he was blown away with how accommodating the staff was and the great job they did, the massages were a great perk. I would recommend this place to everyone!

This is like a sweat shop. They have their workers on timers (or is it their guests?)! I dont appreciate having service with a timer constantly going off ushering the worker into the next portion of my service. Everything else was just ok.

Very unhappy with my mani and pedi. A no chip mani and a regular pedi was done in an HOUR. No exaggeration I can do a better pedicure. I actually came home and had to touch up and scrub my heels. It was basically a foot wash with a bad nail polish application. My no chip mani is no better. Already have a bubble formed under the nail polish on my index finger. Never had that before. Please teach your techs how to do their job correct or fire them. I swear I would do a better job. Cuticles need to be removed not pushed back a bit. Now i dont even know if these will survive the 10 day road trip.( A very old woman

I was starting to like this place. Been going for a few months now. On my last visit I pointed out something that could have potentially given me a nail fungus & the tech walked off & had someone else finish my nails. That was rude! Now IF I go back, Im gonna have Tracy do my nails instead.
