I cancelled my payment after realizing their platform doesn’t generate any legitimate leads and reached out to their customer service. Instead of apologizing or asking for feedback on how they can improve their platform they sent me VERBAL ABUSE. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. Wholeheartedly believe all of the 1-star reviews you see. I’m genuinely in disbelief. They didn’t refund my money for a service I didn’t use and ON TOP OF THAT they sent me HOSTILITY. What type of company is this?! I’m genuinely in disbelief.

Domu has been a great platform for us to advertise our listings! The posting process is easy and straight forward. The leads we received were serious and many of them went on to sign leases. Another great tool we used was their activity statistics. We were able to see how many people were viewing the listings. It helped us determine if some units were overpriced and allowed us to correctly market them. 5 stars!

I had an okay experience using Domu for my subleasing process. I still prefer Craigslist, Zillow etc., because Domu is very overpriced compared to other options on the market.I would NOT pay for the service again or recommend Domu for subleasing because its overpriced at $40 when Craigslist will charge you $5 and provide more prospective tenants.

Total waste of money! Paid $40 for a month of listing a very, very nice apartment in a luxury building at a Rent Amount you cannot get for this unit anywhere in the building, in a top Chicago neighborhood and DID NOT RECEIVE ONE SINGLE INQUIRY! Received inquires from Turbo Tenant, Craigs List, and Zillow for a total spend of $5 total! Save your money go with a different site! And the response is priceless on 3/2/20, Some prospective renters reached out to you. THAT WOULD BE FALSE! There is the screenshot, but nice try Domu!

I have actually been a member of Domu for several years now. I found Domu because I was looking to rent out the condo I own and wasnt getting legitimate responses from other free sites. For a nominal fee I was able to post my condo on Domu and had a fantastic tenant (who stayed for 2 years!) within 2 weeks! In addition to a fantastic and legit site, Domu is the most comprehensive and informative site I have come across for rental resources. Chicago is an extremely tenant-friendly city and the horror stories I have read online about legal recourse against landlords can be really scary. I have used the clear, easy to follow landlord resources numerous times and have even encouraged my renter to use the tenant resources as well. Sadly, after 2 fantastic years, my tenant is looking to move on. I re-activated my listing (which was still saved on my Domu account! So convenient!) last night and have interest from 4 people already! Domu makes listing my condo as a part time landlord so much easier!

It was rented in less than a week.Domu also provides excellent forms as well as documentation on what landlords should provide tenants to be in compliance with City codes and ordinances.Domu is a real asset to Chicago landlords.

Domu is the greatest resource for landlords and tenants. I spent $20 and had over 50 inquires and a new lease signed within a week. I have used Domu for 2 vacancies and will continue to use the website in the future. Also the forms, documents, and blog are so useful and helpful to me- they are my go to resource for all landlord related topics.

I found a place online which I loved. Saw 2 units in the same building. When I arrived, the guy showing on behalf of Domu keeps saying, We rent to good people. I wasnt sure what he meant by that. I submitted a paper application (Which was weird). After not hearing from him, I reached out and asked to pay for the fee. The realtor responds, we wont be moving forward without a reason.

Domu works great for renters. I found a great apartment through Domus website, and would recommend it to anyone looking for apartments. Will definitely use Domu again in the future.

As a landlord, domu was a great source for leads and contacts, with over 300 hits in a ten day timeframe. The provided street sign created additional foot traffic; literally having people stop and window shop the property from the sidewalk. Im most impressed with the document library. Having selected a renter after ten days, the available forms library is a great way to complete the intake process. Thanks for a smooth experience.

Very poorly designed site... doesnt recognize photos with simple names like kitchen, When I upload a photo of a kitchen, it takes someone elses photo by the same name and uploads it. They force you to re-lable all of your photos to post an ad.... Ridiculous time waster. Then they need you to delete your cookies for the past 24 hours in order to post an ad...Ill never use them or recommend them again. What a waste of 35 minutes of my time. I should send them a bill.

I used Domu to rent my apartment. I was trying to rent a property in the most difficult time of the year (December). For a pretty small amount of money, I got a quality looking posting, a lot of traffic, an ability to monitor the activity on my posting, and a lot of hands on attention from Domu staff to help me market the property. They provided suggestions on incentives and photography. They also promoted my listing through social media at no additional fee. If you are serious about renting a property, Domu is a good value. Even at the lowest point of the rental market, I had hundreds of page views and quality people view the property. I was able to rent it at asking price at a quicker than market average time.

I wish I had known about Domu for my last apartment search. I found it to be much more efficient than Craigslist because I was able to search the neighborhoods I wanted to live in, and the site immediately identified apartments in those areas via a map or list. I also thought Domu featured a better quality of listings than what I found on Craigslist. The Domu listings had great photos and all the relevant information I needed for my search in a clean and concise format. I would recommend the site to anyone looking for an apartment.

Terrible for landlords -- paid $20 for Domu listing when Craigslist (free) gave me 10x the amount of responses AND from better tenants. Domu brags about its powerful sorting and filtering features, but tenants dont look for apartments that way -- they look at photographs -- and most landlords arent even really filling those information fields out correctly on Domus site.Landlords, Domu gives you nothing ...

I have listed and successfully rented 2 condos using Domu. It works. Make sure you are prices competitively. This is the mistake I made both times and I have now learned. Domu is for people who are looking for value, just like the owner is looking for value, so are the tenants. It takes time to rent, as in a few weeks, unless you are at the start of the spring. And Craiglist does not work, as in unless you dont have a job and can keep posting on craigslist every 3 hours to keep your listing on the top, stick with Domu. And they charge what like $20 for 2 weeks. Compare that to how much a realtor charge. Got 700+ views in 4 weeks. I am not kidding.

Domu is heads and shoulders my preferred advertising venue for apartments in Chicagoland. It is local, understands our market, the staff/sales reps (Hey, Nina!) are very accessible, and the site is easy to use. They also run a great local ad campaign to ensure that Chicagoland residents are visiting the site. As a managing agent for a portfolio of north side properties, I also never have to worry about third-party brokers or leasing agencies creating redundant advertising for my properties (common on craigslist, Hotpads, Zillow, RadPad, or pretty much any other site). The prices are fair, and I have worked with them professionally since 2009-2010. I will surely be using them going into next year and beyond. For landlords looking to list their apartments or condo for rent, you cant go wrong with domu.

I listed an available apartment on Domu and was very happy with the service. Getting the ad description and photos posted was very user friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the price to list, I expected it to be a lot higher than it was.The site also provides landlords with some basic analytics about how many users are looking at a listing and favoriting it or sharing it with others. So thats pretty interesting. I imagine if you owned a lot of rental properties, it could be a good way to see what sort of ads get more attention than others.I also like that the site assigns a neighborhood to your listing. On sites like craigslist, you see many ads claiming that an apartment is in a certain neighborhood when its really not. Domu keeps listings honest and searches are map-based, so theres no confusion. It seems like a nice search tool for people looking for a rental. Also, there is just one ad for each property, as opposed to a site like craiglist, where some landlords and apartment search companies will post 50 ads for the same apartment. I dont mean to knock craigslist, its a great free resource that I also used to list my apartment, but Domus curating of listings makes it worth the small fee.We had several people schedule viewings through the site. Definitely worth paying a little money for the extra foot traffic. I will use the site again for future listings.
