Joey was a fantastic point of contact throughout. The staff on site are kind and helpful. The loading bay is user-friendly as well. However, do not expect a quick turnaround time when loading items in and out of the building. The doors are heavy, the stairs have seen better days, and the elevators are spacious, but slow. There are carts on site, but only a few and maintenance on the elevators seems frequent. Overall a decent experience.

Storage Mart was amazing.. We were customers for 3 years and they were very helpful every time we needed something. The manager and staff worked with us on ways to save money during several big clean outs. I would highly recommend them for any storage needs. They were the best we have ever used.

While It’s easy to get frustrated about price increases and circumstances, it’s nice to get quick responses from staff who want to help. Anytime I’ve contacted Storage Mart (during the ~6 years there), they have been more than understanding — for this reason, I highly recommend this storage center. Specifically, the site manager Joey has gone above and beyond, even knowing that I won’t be a customer soon. This speaks volumes about his integrity & their customer service culture.

I stored items there for over 2 years. I recently moved due to the fact they raised my rent (again) after I asked if I still received a military discount. My rent had just increased 3 months prior. Management seems irritated when approached with questions or concerns. Does he think I cant see him rolling his eyes? I called twice regarding billing issues and my calls were never returned.Its a good facility for the most part. LOVE the building but the upkeep seems to be increasingly neglected.***** UPDATE *****After my review, the Regional Manager called me to discuss the issues that caused me to move out. The fact that she was genuinely concerned and took the time to reach out to me, speaks highly of the company overall. Im sad that I had already moved my stuff to another facility. I felt my belongings were safe and LOVE the building (it was originally a peanut factory .. how cool is that)

Joe and RD were great to work with. I had all kinds of complications with my schedule to get checked in and they worked hard to accommodate me. They provide superior customer service which was very much appreciated under all the stresses of moving homes.

So glad we finally got a unit here. Its easy to get in and out quickly, our stuff feels very secure, and Im amazed at how much we can fit into our unit even though its the smallest one they have! Worked wonders for how much space we now have in our apartment.

Ive had a 5x7 locker there for years, from before it was taken over by StorageMart. Big old building full of character. Since then they jacked the rent up repeatedly. Last time I checked in, the same size space was renting for $61 and I was paying $165 ... thats more than a thousand a year difference. I moved to the cheaper locker, the manager on-site was nice and helpful, BUT I still had to lug all my stuff to a different locker! The corporate computer wouldnt allow us just to draw up a new contract for the same space and save the physical labor. Lots of businesses have loyalty awards; this one has a huge loyalty penalty

We needed two different storage units in two different cities. David guided us on determining the amount of space needed as well as the details for securing each unit. The manager of the Overland Park location called the same day to provide directions because the building is new and google maps isn’t updated yet. He thought it would make our move easier. So great!

Have been storing my stuff here for a couple years. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. Easy access to get to storage units. The only issue Ive run into is with the elevators. Its an older building with old freight elevators which you have to manually open and close the doors. If the doors are not closed all the way then the elevator wont move. Ive had to take the stairs a couple times to the floor that the elevator was sitting on and shut the door so that it would go to the floor I needed it. It hasnt been that big of a deal for me but something to keep in mind in case youre unable to use the stairs. Fortunately there is more than one elevator so it doesnt happen that often.

I’ve been a customer at this StorageMart for seven years. This year, their air conditioner broke and destroyed some of my possessions. After refusing even to acknowledge a claim, StorageMart responded more than a month later saying that it was not responsible for its own negligence and that they only paid claims where they were negligent if a consumer bought insurance. (StorageMart’s air conditioning unit broke and spilled a significant amount of water into my unit for an unknown period during COVID.That’s not right and not good business. Consumers beware.

Huge thanks to RD today for helping us out with learning the lay of the land at the storage facility on Halsted. He covered every detail and answered all our questions, it really helped us feel comfortable with it all. Beautiful building too, clean, a bit busier which I actually prefer and a slightly better deal than other places. So far, so impressed.

My company has been renting a large unit from Storage Mart for 3 years. The team at StorageMart is always friendly, polite, and willing to help. We receive a number of boxes and the team there always moves the boxes safely into our unit. Weve also had pallets and other large items delivered and they are always willing to help receive the delivery and the items safely up to our unit. I also have to leave a box or bag in the office for someone on my staff to pick up and they are gracious enough to allow me to that as well. They have rollings carts in their office that make unloading/loading my car helpful. I also think the building is well lit and safe (I visit after office hours quite a bit).The only drawback in the building is that the elevators can be tricky. If the doors arent all the way closed, the elevator wont move when called. A lot of of times this is the fault of other tenants in the building not pulling the doors down behind them. Im not sure how StorageMart could fix this without taking the elevators out of commission and Im sure the cost would be astronomical (and likely the costs would be felt to some extent in unit rentals).Overall, our 3 years at StorageMart has been positive and we have no plans to move.

Storage Mart on Halsted is the best choice for a storage unit in central Chicago. It’s clean, the loading docks are roomy, there are two big freight elevators, they’ve got pallet jacks for bigger deliveries, and there are plenty of dollies. Joey and the crew are awesome. If you are looking for your next storage spot in the city, go for storage mart on Halsted.

This was one of the best storageMart I have ever been too. It was so clean and the service was great. Shay Parker was amazing with helping me get the right prices and going over everything I need to get my stuff in storage. Rd was a great help showing me around and making me feel secure about the security and space available. Overall this place was great and helped a lot I am not referring my sister and her husband.

Its a well-kept facility with reasonable prices. Most importantly, I want to give a shout out for the fantastic customer service from RD and Michi. After leaving my locker key in another state, the people there spent the time to cut the massive lock off. This wasnt easy, and I highly appreciate that they saved me on short notice!

I used StorageMart for just over a month between moves and had a great experience. The 800 number was very helpful in helping me find the right unit and reserving the space. The space itself was clean, and fairly easy to get to from the freight elevator. The online billing system also made it easy to make a payment.I prefer this storage facility to others in the area, because its easy to get in/out of and I was always able to use elevators and equipment without a wait. The prices were lower or similar to other facilities in downtown Chicago. I highly recommend StorageMart to others looking for storage in the area.

Friendly and helpful staff. Getting started was cake. The facility itself is a converted, multi-story warehouse and has been newly renovated. The facility is INCREDIBLY clean and offers a large, pull-up dock for trucks or cars of varying height. Theres even a garage large enough for a car to pull into and unload. They have two, very large freight elevators and even provide moving carts and a fork-lift! I moved my entire one-bedroom apartment into a 10x10 unit. I am very pleased with the cleanliness, newness, and excellent temperature control & lighting inside. I expect Ill be using this unit for a while.

StorageMart on Halsted Street is an ideal location for my storage needs. Its in a central location that is easy to get to, they provide parking, and best of all, they have a loading dock with varying heights. This makes it so easy to get in and out regardless of the size of the truck.The space is really clean, the folks in the office are helpful and friendly, and the pricing is very reasonable.

I’ve had the MOST incredible experience with this facility! From start to finish the level of professionalism and empathy that I received from both Joey and RD has been world class. I had a fire in my apartment and ended up homeless for a period of time. Being able to put my most prized possessions in a space that was clean and safe was of the upmost importance, and that’s exactly what StorageMart on Halstead has been. I ended up needing a bigger unit than I expected and Joey and RD helped me find another unit in my price range and made it so easy for me to move my belongings. They made me feel so supported during an INCREDIBLY difficult time in my life. I don’t think they realize how much their kindness really impacted my life and made a challenging time far more bearable. Great centralized location just north of downtown & south of near northside districts w/ample parking & two big garage bays for running a business that needs storage or inventory. I had a storage unit with them for about a year and had an overall fantastic experience, especially with regards to customer service. I had to come in town for a weekend wedding while also moving and selling my stuff out of the unit during the mornings/afternoons. This wouldnt have been possible without one of their employees, Emilita who was extremely flexible and helpful in getting the job done. If I ever need to store stuff in Chicago in the future, I will definitely come back.

Yes, the staff is courteous, but I would advise against storing anything of value here. Personal property damaged when artwork moved by others, then stacked improperly, and also several items stolen. Rates go up regularly if you dont switch units, so that long-term customers end up paying as much as double market rate (and they wont tell you that unless you ask).

Access is only 7am to 7pm, the only way to get around this is to call the office, which closes at different times on different days. This is very inconvenient for someone who works a 9-5 type of schedule. Other than that, its a secure storage facility

The prices were much cheaper than some of the other storage facilities in the river north area (by as much as half). All the staff that work there, including the assistant manager Benny, were extremely kind and helpful.

My experience has been terrible. The male staff and management members are rude, actually mean, homophobic, and they are bullies.The female staff members have all been extremely kind and professional.So many crazy things have happened, but until I leave this facility I do not feel physically safe to document them publicly.The worst Injustice, however, is that I just learned that my monthly autopay was never processed and that my payment is now 15 days late and $60; more than it was. This is ridiculous. I have been hospitalized for nine days and had assumed the payment had been processed. I have no doubt certain staff members had something to do with this. My payment account has had sufficient funds for payment this entire time. I cant even call to complain because I will be treated with such disrespect that it would serve no purpose.i realize now that by ensuring my payment was not made on time now lose the $20 monthly promotional discount I received during my sign up.Its all about greed and making things as bad for me as possible.This nightmare grows worse.Do not ever rent from this facility if you can about it. If you would like more detailed information I will happily provide it privately to potential new renters only via email.

Hey everyone.My name is Melanie. I used to work for a company that utilized this unit for a while. This review is so long overdue (IM SORRY!!).Now for the important part. After having utilized quite a few other storage facilities in the Chicagoland area, I can genuinely state with pleasure that this is the best, safest, most reliable storage facility that I personally know of. They have a lot of space, good lighting (super helpful when you have a unit full of stuff and need to hunt for what you need), have a loading dock for semis, one indoor load in space, and the kindest, most friendly and reliable staff I have ever witnessed. There is an electronic key code entry to get in. Theres ample space for parking if you need to place your car somewhere while organizing, loading, unloading...whatever you need, they have pallet jacks and carts to use if you need them. THEY HAVE IT ALL. This particular facility is very near the Division exit off I-90 (super convenient when youre always going there and back). They have both indoor (within the building) and outdoor units on site. I cannot even begin reiterate how wonderful this unit is. I really hope that I eventually get to return to this facility for whatever storage needs I have in the future.DID I MENTION THAT THE TENANTS ARE WONDERFUL???DID I ALSO MENTION THAT THE STAFF IS EVEN MORE WONDERFUL???
