Why is finding someone that can repair pioneer mixers so hard?!?!? I called everyone on Pioneer’s website and no one answered the phone! After a quick google search, I was able to find Midwest Pro Sound & Lighting, & when I called they picked up!The assured me that they would be able to fix the issues with my Pioneer S9 and since I would be coming from out of town, they would try and get their tech to give it a little extra love to make sure I wouldn’t have to come back more than once. Alberto was easy to work with, and he even gave me a tour of the shop and the lighting room they have set up in the back. I wish we had a DJ shop like Midwest Pro Sound and Lighting in my city!When I went to pick up the mixer, the staff there had everything we needed to test things out. While testing the inputs, we came to the conclusion that one of the aux inputs still wasn’t working. They called the technician, put me on the phone, and Alberto took my mixer across town to get it repaired while he waited. I wish he would have taken my flight case with him, just to keep it a little safer, but they got the repair done for me, called me, and we tested it out and it works perfect! It saved me a second trip back (5.5 hours one way). The staff went above and beyond for me and I will send all of my DJ friends their way if they need a major repair on their equipment! It’s a long drive from Cincy, but I’ll make that drive again if my gear needs repaired. Thank You Alberto and Midwest Pro Sound & Lighting for the great service.

This is the place!! They’ll take care of you! Midwest opened their doors to me on a Sunday (when they’re normally closed!) and helped me get everything I needed for a podcast recording. They’re reliable, kind and knowledgeable (you can get feedback and advice on any project needs). Definitely recommend Midwest. They are the real deal and you’ll be glad you did business with them. I used Midwest to repair the headphone jack in my Traktor S4. I was convinced it was toast but they brought it back to life and had spare parts on hand. Total turn around was about a week. The staff was very helpful and their prices were reasonable. My S4 is working great! They did a great job. Will definitely use them again in the future.

I traveled into Chicago from out of town to DJ a wedding, and needed to rent some DJ gear, since I couldnt fly with my own. I was recommended to Midwest Pro Sound & Lighting by a friend, and I can see why they use them all the time. These guys bent over backwards to accommodate me! They were able to get me the gear I needed, helped me load it into my vehicle, and made returning it all super easy! The wedding was a huge success, and I couldnt have done it without Midwest Pro Sound & Lighting. The next time Im in Chicago and need audio gear, Im going straight to them!

Every time I walk into this store Im treated like a valued customer. The customer service is at a level so high, you rarely see that anymore. The manager instantly knew the best part for my 1970s turntable and I can say all my sound systems sound SOOOO much better because I went into this store and talked to the great people here.

Excellent service. I went in less than 24 hours before my wedding to rent a bunch of items. While waiting for them to collect these items the woman there asked if I wanted uplighting. I had been thinking about it but never looked into renting it. I asked if they had wireless, which they did but they already had a renter scheduled to pick them up the day after my wedding. They rented them to me if I agreed to charge them. Some might Gino that’s ridiculous but for me that is amazing customer service. And let me tell you without that uplighting my venue would not have looked so amazing. Thanks to everyone there for being so accommodating and asking all the right questions to fulfill my needs. Will always recommend you to others in the future.

When buying something from a retailer and it breaks or is defective within 7 days you expect retailer to honor their 7 Day return/exchange policy. Not make you buy another one because we dont do returns on that because they have never broken before. If I wanted lemons and lousy service id go to the grocery store down the street. There are plenty of other DJ equipment stores in Chicago whom Im sure can do better than this store.

This is a little long but bought used 1210 M5Gs and noticed that it had lose tonearm. Took it in for an estimate on a Sat, gentleman named Corey was very friendly and told me that they will call me following Monday to give me an estimate. Waited and no call so I called on a Wed to see what the status is. They said technician was busy so they will give me a call back when the technician get a chance to look at it. So 1 week goes by, I stopped by to see what the deal is and they told me they still havent checked it out so im kinda irritated so I asked to get my table back because I needed it for a party and they said they dont have it at the store so Im beginning to get really angry but the owner told me they can lend me theirs until they can find out what the issue is and promised to get it fixed. So my table was in the shop for over 1 week and I get a call saying that their technician can fix the tonearm and anti skating that cost 200 bucks but because of the issue they gave me a discount and after the repair, I went and made sure everything was good and made sure table wasnt damaged etc. Went home played with it and no issue so I say they did a great job fixing my tonearm. Even though it took them a while, I will give them 5 stars for doing a fantastic job. Their salesperson Alberto was the one that helped me get it done so I suggest asking for Alberto if you want something fixed.

I’m not even mad, just extremely extremely dissapointed. 3 years ago I purchased a Gemini G4v from this store. The sales person was phenomenal and went the extra mile to make sure I had everything I would need for 100% satisfaction. HOWEVER, this morning I called and spoke to a similar person who was explaining to me that they would be able to fix my G4v and give me large discount if in fact I end up having to trash it and buy a new one (which he said he’d have to order). So fast forward to a 1 hour transit JUST to get to the store. I walk in and get greeted by a lady sitting at a desk. I explained to her the situation and in response from her and another co worker in a rude manner they both say “yeah our tech isn’t going to touch your controller because you tried fixing it yourself. Go take it somewhere else. we can’t do anything without the power cord anyways”(The person on the phone never mentioned this and how do they not have extra power cords at a DJ STORE?! Some are universal..) Although what they said doesn’t SOUND insulting, it’s moreso the way it was expressed by both of them. THEN I’m like “So I spoke to a man over the phone that said if I wanted to buy a new G4v you guys could order it..” So the lady responds in a snippy (we don’t sell them any more, they’re outdated. Just go buy whatever we have here”. After she tells me this I say “oooookay.... whatever I’ll just check out the new controllers your selling” and she’s like “yup they’re over there” without even explaining what they have. So I’m walking around looking at them, none of them have price tags, and nobody was even willing to help or even explain the controllers they were selling until I confronted her once again about pricing. 7 employees in the store and nobody would help me out? I’m a retail manager so I know how frustrating it can be, I’ve even had customers throw change at me, but as a customer here I was polite and would’ve spent whatever it took to either fix or buy a new controller. She and the other employee had no right to be sassy and rude with me. In the end, I walked out with my controller, spent two hours in transit on my only day off, went to guitar center and spent almost 2k on a new, much better controller than what I had (cheaper at GC than the same one I noticed at this store). I’ve never ever had such a bad customer service experience and I sure would rather pay the same or even more for a better experience at any other store. If you want polite service and cheaper prices for the same gear don’t bother ever coming to this store. This place has changed for the absolute worst.

Their return period is a joke and i learned the hard way. they are always friendly and theyre nearby so i would randomly come in, but after the last experience i think im done with them. long story short they sold me something that died within 2 weeks, i go in not expecting a problem only to find out the return period is only 5 or 7 days, and then their idea of appeasement was to offer me store credit which wouldnt have been so bad if their selection wasnt so sparse. i remember being tempted by some of the used synths they have on the nerd audio side (which btw makes no sense that they divide the store into 2 entities like that but whatever), but all their used synths had bloated prices with like 400% markup vs the average going rate on ebay. i ended up just using my store credit on a handful of basics just to get the hell out of there and be done with them.
