Ive had two great experiences with Platinum in the past month. First, they replaced a hose in my washing machine which was leaking on the floor. I was worried I would need a new washing machine. Second, they repaired an ice machine which has been sitting idle for a year after two other places couldnt figure out the problem. I also had them service my oven and refrigerators. I was able to get appointments quickly each time. Im very happy with them and will call them again!

Charged a trip charge. Came out, said they would quote parts, and a $60 revisit charge. Instead they wrapped the quote into a FLAT rate high-way robbery quote. In other words, they went back on their word.Used this company 4 times....this is the first time they dirt bagged me.

I called them for an outdoor kegerator. They said they will only do outdoor repairs within certain weather temperatures….. so I had to wait over a month. They came out and said that it would cost me almost $900 to repair. I declined. They charged me around $250 for service call!!! ABT fixed the kegerator parts and all for what platinum charged me just to come out and look at it. They did remember to put Platnium Services stickers on my appliance though! Think about this before you call…..!!!!!!

The person who came out was actually very good and professional (and very knowledgeable). The quote that I received subsequently for the repair that was identified was shockingly high. This seems to be their operating model based on the previous reviews. Would avoid this business if you can

Scam artists who dont actually fix the issue youre paying them for, then want to charge you more to fix it again.Recently bought a house with a Viking fridge that was serviced by Platinum Mechanical Services prior to closing to address a temperature issue with the refrigerator compartment. The Seller spent $650+ across two visits to have Platinum Mechanical Services repair the issue only to move in and find out Platinums work never resolved the issue.Upon speaking with them they hid behind non-transferable warranties and said for another $150 they could come out and look at it and tell me what needed to be fix, which would be additional parts and labor.Id recommend looking elsewhere if you want reliable work done.

Way overpriced. I have a Subzero refrigerator. I needed the rubber seals replaced on both French doors. There price was over one thousand dollars. A total exploitation. I contacted ABT and there price for exactly the same repair was $394.00. Buyer beware.

Called them to fix my Dacor oven. Rob came to the house twice once to diagnose and again with the new part. He was super nice and very knowledgeable. I would definitely use them again.

I have viking kitchen appliances that were out of warranty, so i thought so according to another appliance repair shop, until i contacted platinum mechanical services for another quote, when they informed me that my appliances were still in warranty. Thank god for an honest company that actually knows what they’re doing.

We have a weird/fancy oven in our home that the previous owners installed (DCS by Fisher Paykel). When our oven stopped preheating last week, I was not at all happy to see that there was ONE licensed service provider for Chicago and that they didnt have great online reviews. I also have decently high expectations for customer service after working in the service and sales industries the majority of my career. But what choice did I have? They were the only ones!I was OH SO PLEASANTLY surprised with how friendly their reps were and how easy it was to get our oven fixed. I scheduled a Wednesday appointment on a Monday, they called on Tuesday with a 3-hour timeframe from 10-1pm. I said we really couldnt be there before 11:30 and I knew it meant we may have to reschedule. Sure enough, I got a call on Wednesday at 11:20 that Rick the technician was about 10 minutes away and had been able to accommodate our request, even though I knew it wasnt a guarantee. My husband let Rick in around 11:45 and I got a text at 12:21 that the problem was diagnosed, the part replaced, and all was well. The downside: it was a $495 repair in total. The ovens igniter had burned out and needed to be replaced (but will hopefully last another 7-10 years). I blame this on the previous owners deciding on such an expensive and uncommon stove ;)
