No nonsense place. Just need equipment and space at a fair price? Cant beat it. Good mix of people of all ages and youll always feel welcome.

So I went there in the morning you know cause I have a busy schedule later in the day and I was deadlifting cause it’s in my program. I did my top set and the owners wife came up to me and said I was slamming the weights. I was not slamming the weights. She’s came up to me multiple times in the past in a rude manner to belittle me about my lifting or anything I do. She’s done this to multiple people as well. She is rude and has no respect for anyone.

Great atmosphere, clean, variety of equipment and the owners are down to earth hard working people!

Ive been going to this gym on and off for a handful of years and it is a solid gym with almost everything the average person/athlete needs to get a solid workout for a very reasonable price.The best part about fitness 19 is the staff and the people who you see there regularly.

Great gym for the price. You are definitely able to get a great workout in. The only thing I observed while in that gym, theres some people that do not wipe down the equipment after use. Staff provides bottles all throughout the gym, all they ask of you is to bring your own wipe down towel. Its not that hard. So my advice, wipe down before and after. Other than that, Love the gym and hours.

It’s super intimidating getting back into a workout/fitness routine. Fitness 19 is an amazing atmosphere. Like-minded clients, helpful and attentive staff and a variety of great equipment has made it effortless for my fam to get back in shape!

This is a very nice gym with a lot of awesome equipment, great atmosphere, and it is extremely clean!My only concern is the lack of transparency/honesty of the staff when you sign up and sign your contract. I didn’t read my contract line by line, word by word, small print, front and back and now I wish I would have.You will be paying around $100 in the first month due to the first and last months dues, your monthly due for month two, and an “annual fee” that is withdrawn after 30 days.I called and expressed my concerns, after a few days I got a call from one of the owners who basically told me that I need to read contracts better and that the first individual that I talked too was an 18 year old “kid” and that I was too harsh and my language was too “offensive” toward him.This is a business, and if you have “kids” working, selling contracts, and taking phone calls they need to be fully aware of what they are selling, clear with their clients regarding fees, and maybe not answering phone calls if they cant handle an upset customer.

A great gym but none of the employees are wearing masks which is really weird. Essentially business as normal and don’t seem to be following any distance guidelines. A corona time bomb waiting to go off.

Awesome gym and they have a new trainer John Hernandez that recently joined there. This guy is awesome and my gains have been incredible. Never the same workout and he hits every muscle group.....check this place out.

I have been a member here for about a year and could not be more impressed with the quality of the gym. The gym is immaculate and the equipment is always clean and in good, working order. The complaint that I most often here from other members is that the gym does lack a shower room; however, the low cost of the membership more than makes up for this. Furthermore, if you are interested in trying the gym before you join they offer a one day trial membership for a low cost.

Employees are rude! They do not treat people with respect. Honestly, they should be fired/reprimanded for how they acted towards me. What they said to me as a minor, they would not have said to an adult.

The gym is nice, spacious, very clean work out area. Staff is friendly. Only negative is there is no showers. If you want to work out before work, prepare to take a shower else where. Great experience, but the lack of showers has made it difficult to remain a member.

On the smaller side as far as gyms go, but at $19/month price cant be beat. They manage to pack quite a bit of equipment into the space they have, with one room dedicated to cardio and the other to strength, but it never feels cramped.There are no showers, but there are two change rooms and a wall of lockers.If you have kids and work out regularly, they have a pretty good deal on kids room access.If youre into training or classes, their prices are very reasonable and unlimited monthly classes may be purchased for a fair price

Fitness 19 is a great gym. Ive been coming here for over 6 years! The entire staff is friendly and the owner is a really cool guy. Most importantly, the gym is always clean! They pretty much have everything you could ask for as far as exercise equipment. I just wish they had a locker rooms with some showers.... and maybe a hot tub. Overall its a great gym and they have excellent membership prices.

This gym is kept extremely clean. The owners are always adding new equipment to their selection. Ive been going here since 2013 and they have increased their selection of classes (never been in one). I wish they were in a larger space due to the classes in the mornings taking up a lot of the open area. You can feel comfortable, no matter your level of fitness here. I have lifted in gyms for years and I have yet to see anyone here who isnt willing to help if you need it. I wish they opened around 4AM, but thats just for personal scheduling.

Really a great gym

I had posted a review on here not long ago, and was very unhappy with the facility. Since than I have been contacted by the owner multiple times in an attempt to make things right. It has been expressed that the owner of this facility does want to run a good, honest gym, and seem to be very nice. The gentleman seemed to care very much so about the gyms reputation, and I can respect. I came back and chose to change my review in an attempt to express my gratitude to the owners for reaching out to me and making things right. If it werent for the little hiccup before I would give them 5 stars for the customer service.

ONLY BEEN A MEMBER FOR A SHORT TIME BUT IM IMPRESSED. PLENTY OF WELL MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT, GOOD HOURS, AND ONLY A SHORT DISTANCE FROM MY HOUSE. MEMBERSHIP PRICE IS EXCELLENT.

The gym may be adequate but their supposed policy of requiring cancellations in person is at best a nuisance in an attempt to put a hard sell on you to stay. After multiple harassing phone calls to my son demanding that he needs to cancel in person or via a fax (phone calls in which they were told each time that he had already canceled), they now call and say that they will allow him to cancel over the phone IF he provides them a credit card to pay $31.95 in late fees for a service he had already canceled. This after they already once allowed the balance to be paid over the phone and being told that service was being canceled. So you really can cancel over the phone if you pay them.Must be rough going if you have to scrape a young man for the cost of a movie, popcorn and soda and threaten to send it to collections for a service he hasnt used for over a year.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Theres a huge variety of equipment. They offer great programs. The hours are very accommodating.

Fantastic facility... few too many kids running around swelled up but hey its entertainment Very clean and well suited to ones individual routine.

It doesnt get any better than $10 month! Nice clean facility! Just wish there was one in Virginia Beach as well. But when Im in Chesapeake, this is where I go to workout.

Great gym at an awesome price. They are adding more space for more classes and more workout area which is good as this place is getting more members and is pretty busy from 4pm to closing.

I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the entire facility and the staff at Fitness 19. They are always very kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. All of the equipment is state of the art. My personal favorite, the new platform! The layout of the club is very thought out, as they have a completely separate cardio room and also a LifeFitness section on the hardwood. I also really enjoy how they have the tires and the sled that you can use outside in the back. For everything that Fitness 19 has to offer you would think they would charge way more than $10.99 per month.

Both my wife and I joined this club around four months ago. She needed a place close enough to workout in the mornings, I needed a place to go that was close vice going to the base. It has been a great time thus far. Suggest adding a Sauna and more updated tredmills and elliptical machines. The staff is very curteous and love the option for keeping children as Ive used this option five or six times. My son seems to like the playroom.

Comfortable environment and friendly staff make it a great place to exercise for people at any level of fitness.

Ive been a member for over a year now and I love this gym! The price us great the staff is great and its always clean.

I signed up at Fitness 19 about two months ago and I have been very happy with it so far. I am there 5 days a week, and sometimes twice a day. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I love the fact that in a couple weeks time they remember me and my member number. I hope they eventually expand the workout area and create a sizeable crossfit type space, that would be awesome, but all in all great place to be.

This is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. No matter what time of day I am in here, someone is cleaning. Staff is friendly and the price you cant beat. Only downfalls are dumbells go to 100 and there is no decline bench, BUT knowing workout equipment is expensive I have no doubt in due time these things will be added along with others.

The community is high quality and the equipment is top notch for the price, especially since the renovations. They are continually reinvesting back into the gym to improve the quality for all members (while on the phone with management, he disclosed an over $400,000 investment into the cardio section alone for its members along with undisclosed investments amounts in other equipment the last few years).When it came time to cancel, I was frustrated namely because I found out that I needed to give 30 days written notice in order to do so. Within these 30 days, the member is still liable for fees. I was frustrated by this and, in a haze, left a negative review.However, after speaking with management, I discovered I had acted rashly and that their hands are tied by the bank. I stated in the last review, unfairly, that I felt like I was dealing with a big bank - it turns out that they are the ones dealing with that unsavory experience. The autodraft program with the bank is what creates this 30 day window discussed above. They are a small, family run business that will support each and every one of their customers as the manager did for me.It was clear from speaking with the manager that he was passionate about the business. While I may have had a hiccup in my service at the gym, I recommend its services to anyone moving forward. I originally thought that its management would not assist you on the financial side; they will, but you also have to be responsible yourself. I wasnt responsible and they still took care of me. As for the gym and community itself, it cant be beat. Merry Christmas everyone.

Muscle heads everywhere

I absolutely LOVE this gym! There are many quality gyms in the area, however none of them compare to Fitness 19. At Fitness 19, I have access to top of the line equipment (Hammer Strength) that I need in order to reach my goals. On top of that, they have med balls, sleds, prowler, kettle bells, TRX, battle ropes, etc. Most importantly, I get everything at an affordable price each month (less than $20). No matter what your goals are (lose weight, increase muscle mass, get stronger) or who you are (powerlifter, cross fitter, average joe) this gym has everything that you need! Maybe, Im bias, but you can always get a $5 guest pass and see for yourself.

Can’t beat the price and the facility is always clean! The owner and trainers are very nice and helpful too!!
