Ill be honest my family loved this cruise. I personally didnt some children sat next to me that where so wild and crazy. Running around getting up frequently touching my chair while getting up elbowing other people trying to climb the railing and the parents did nothing. If I where to come back you should really make an older age limit or make it where children must remain seated with their parents. Im an educator I love kids but after teaching toddlers all day itd be nice to experience an event without children running around. I booked the sunset cruise in hopes that there wouldnt be alot of kids. Their also wasnt enough seating alot of people where standing and looking for chairs. You should have a capacity limit before you just hand out tickets especially with covid. This was my first time on a boat I was very nervous. Also a attendent or female worker in a polka dotted skirt Saturday and she wasnt wearing undies and walked up the steps yes my cousin saw EVERYTHING that was very disturbing and disgusting please dont wear a skirt without underwear again. Overall cant recommend after this experience.

We ate on the old casino boat first, where they have the check in and souvenir shop. Went to the third floor and had a burger which was really good. My son had the chicken sandwich and it was bigger than the bun; I mean huge lol. Hospitality was very good and the boat tour was amazing and relaxing.

It was a fun little ride doesnt go too far but goes very very slow. First and second decks are air-cooled while third deck is outside and can be very hot and humid if it is crowded or a very hot day. There is a covering which allows for shade but there may be no wind to which it will be very hot and uncomfortable. Loved having a place that sells drinks and or food while on the boat. Crew is very friendly and very nice. Luckily for us most of the ride was cloudy so it wasnt too hot. The person giving the historical lessons regarding the surrounding area was very kind and very funny. He did a great job so did the rest of the crew. Wish the boat was faster and went further but for what it is it was a chill time.

It was our first time to have such experience, the girl who gives tokens on counter was very sweet and kind …only thing I would recommend reach early before the departure or you won’t get the upper deck chair for sitting and you have to stand for the whole time, as it was for me….thought I was recording some content for my YouTube channel….overall good experience

Our first time going & so enjoyed it! Donald one of the workers was super friendly and helpful! Couple of things that were miscommunicated was that it was handicap accessible in all areas, if you have to use walker, rollator you can only get on lower deck. Steps only to upper decks. The other was we were told the dining would not be available, not true. We missed out on what was offered due to this. This being said, we still had a wonderful time and will definitely do it again!

Maybe not my cup of tea. There is one group when I hear them on the radio, I immediately turn the channel. This was all they played until the captain started taking about the local history and sites. I was sitting right by a speaker, but could not make out most of what he was saying, which would have been a blessing with the music. I was happy they served beer on the cruise, but waited in line for around 15 minutes to get it. Overall, I would not go back.

Beautiful day for the cruise. Good time and pleasant host. I gave it a 4 for the girls who worked for the riverboat sitting on the stairs and I had to ask to get up as cruise was over then sat on their phones instead of getting off for the 10 minutes while we pulled in. I mean honestly youre at work put them up when customers are there at least.

Overpriced for what it is definitely do NOT pay for upgraded tickets in my opinion.. the first part of the tour you go down the river and turn around and go back the same strip you just came down. During this first half the riverbanks are full of industrial trash a lot of the time. After the first half you go down the other way and circle around the island. 2/3 through our trip we discovered the first floor bar and mid deck. Had we found that at the beginning the trip would have been much more enjoyable. Not sure why they corralled us all to the upper deck. The mid deck was much more serene. Most of the dialogue from the captain was very boring. They also tell you to get there an hour early which is pointless. They say its because of varying timezones they tell you to do this. I think its so you will spend money in their very outdated gift shop.

If you dont stop by and do this while youre going through Chattanooga, youre on crack. This was a very fun and educational experience. They have beers of bucket on board you can purchase, and hard liquor, and wine. Dont over drink, because youll miss all the great information the captain has to talk about. Was definitely worth the money, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Experience on the smaller vessel (LAT 35) was ok (1½ hours). Boat is partially covered for protection from the elements, but is open-sided so no climate controled (indoor) seating. There was ice water and disposable cups available, plus chairs and tables. The river sits quite low to downtown Chattanooga, so you dont see much of the city itself throughout the tour. Great view of Lookout Mountain, and the backside of Chattanoogas art district. Parking is directly across the street from the entrance (self-service, $3-6 depending how much parking time you buy), and the walk down to the dock is very easy (stairs and/or ramp, ADA accessible). There is signage at the waterfront for two different boat tour companies; the Southern Belle entrance is surrounded by lovely trees and greenery, not the long cement ramp to the left of the open park amphitheater. If you purchase tour add-ons, be sure to check in at the counter before getting onto the boat; they do not automatically have your add-ons sitting in-wait on the vessel. Speaking of, the charcuterie board add-on was VERY nice! Lovely mixture of meats, cheeses, and fresh fruits -- so good.

Fun. Romantic. Beautiful. Interesting. Those words aptly describe my wife of 37 years as we celebrated our anniversary with a sunset cruise silver package on the Southern Belle. They also describe the riverboat and tour itself. Some things to know: We checked in early and browsed the gift shop and bar areas, and got into line about 6:15 for the 7pm cruise; by 6:30, the boarding line wrapped around the gift shop and there was a long line at the check-in desk. So, do arrive early! Theres plenty to do. We had skipped lunch so we arrived early and had burgers and fries (romantic, right?) and drinks at the 3rd Deck Bar and Grill. Interesting place itself, on a huge old boat. Food was tasty, service was outstanding, and the view of the river was nice. What I didnt know is that the charcuterie tray that came with our silver-package tickets would be delivered the moment we boarded the Southern Belle. We could easily have skipped the burgers, as there was plenty of meat, cheese, berries, grapes, olives, and nuts (plus two florets of broccoli and three--ugh--pickled okra) to fill us. They also provided two cups of water, and theres a cash bar for adult beverages. (We took bottled drinks aboard too.) We were immediately seated at a window table indoors, while other passengers filed upstairs for the open seating on the top deck. There was live music out there, but our room had pre-recorded country songs playing. Although the table service and charcuterie tray were excellent, next time well just sit up top. In any case, we had a fantastic time snuggling in the cooler dining area (fans and no direct sun to stand in) and watched the sunset over the mountains. Definitely a do at least once in Chattanooga.

We did this, checked it off on our list, and are fine to never again repeat it.The harbor cruise itself was very enjoyable - we had our own table (because we acted fast), our party of 7 each had a chair (again only because we moved fast), we were in a good viewing spot, and with one another we had a great time. It was quite relaxing to glide along the water at dusk and enjoy a nice view. The musician upstairs was also very pleasant and we enjoyed our brief conversation with him. Those two reasons earned the two stars. The reason we will not return is due to customer service. My fiancé ordered a burger from the burger bar 40 minutes before departure and had to be persistent in order to ensure he received it in time. He said the bar was chaos - the men were running around like headless chickens and were not clear at all about their process, how he would receive his burger, how long it would take, only simply saying he would have it in time. We were assured, as we boarded, someone would bring it to him before we pulled away from the dock, but he had to leave the ship moments before departure because he still didnt have it. After finally receiving it, he did say it was delicious, but goodness what an unnecessary ordeal. As we boarded, everyone was told to go straight to the upper deck (there are three total) which quickly became overcrowded with no place to sit. We went to the second deck, which is where we found our table, but there should have been more explanation that we could go to any deck, not only the very top. They made it sound like that was the only place we could go.The cruise was over-sold for the number of chairs provided. Many people were unable to sit for the duration. We stood in line for snacks on the upper deck, before the cruise started, and they had already run out of one of three food items. The girl taking orders was very rude and did not greet passengers as our turn came, but simply looked at us until we spoke, and only spoke to me to let me know they were out of nachos (again, we hadnt even left the dock). She was so rude to my friend that my friend wanted her money back from her order. The girl behind the counter told my friend they had no water or tea, but we were told prior to boarding that in addition to soda we would also have water and tea choices. Yet I was able to get water.. Our party of 7 ordered several hotdogs and a BBQ sandwich plate and one of the hotdogs was undercooked so not eaten. The snack selling process was not efficient and could use serious improvement. When there is such a large crowd, staffing that section with not enough food and only two people is not how you conduct business. At the end of the cruise we had no place to throw away our trash, as the only trash cans we could find were inside the main cabin and they were full to overflowing. The whole operation was disorganized and not properly managed. Many people had a great time, but they also enjoyed alcoholic beverages - and you would have to when dealing with that kind of service. For as much as a party of 7 pays to enjoy something like this, staff on this vessel can treat passengers a little (lot) better.

Horrible experience! There was an adult birthday party below deck that were already drunk when they arrived to board. There was a lot of fowl language and booze in the lobby prior to leaving. I immediately contacted the Southern Belle Riverboat Company. No one from their organization replied. To make matters worse, it stormed the entire time we were on board. I understand this was an act of God but it was so crowed, everyone crammed in under the deck canopy to escape the rain. They should put limits on how many people are allowed on the boat. I have concerns they might be going over their limit and risking the lives of their passengers.

I didn’t feel what we paid was worth the value. The boat was dated. I paid more for supper and it was terrible plain salad and grilled veggies which was ok. At first the salad had cheese and they couldn’t tell us if it was vegan cheese so we ask for salad without cheese. And then they tried to give us a tiny bowl of salad and we were like no give us a big salad. We also had grilled veggies and no dessert. I feel paying the same amount as everyone else. The vegan meal should be like for like. If other people didn’t have a pathetic salad neither should we. In 2021 there is no excuse for a catering company to not be able to provide a awesome vegan meal.

This was sooooo much fun. My new husband and I could not do a traditional honeymoon for various reasons, COVID-19, child and puppy at home and work commitments. But I wanted to get him a wedding gift of what I termed a Mini-Moon. Since we married on Friday night and had out of town family at our house til Sunday, I booked a hotel close to the church and a luxury suite for Saturday in Chattanooga (only 2 hours away). Chattanooga was were we went on our 1st out of town trip. We always want to do a cruise when we travel but its either too expensive or not convenient. This was both. I made the reservations online and it was easy peasy. So easy, I accidentally booked only 1. I immediately called the # on their site and spoke to John. He asked my name and in about a minute he says ok,, done. I was so happy. At this point everything is still a surprise and I didnt want to have to go into a lot if detail. As for the cruise...we did the Sunset Cruise and Gary was our entertainment. The top deck ($29.00 per adult) was pretty crowded already. We took the 2 chairs next to Gary. He noticed our bride and groom shirts and asked when wed married. He gave us his song list and let us pick out several songs. Very talented guy. Lovely voice. He gave us a shout out and song our songs. He encouraged us and others to participate. More and more people joined in. Some got up and danced as the sun was setting. It was almost, ALMOST perfect. Now the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I purchased BBQ plates for us. When we sat, hubby opened his and a gnat was walking across the bun. He took it in stride and flicked it off. I opened and pinched a little piece of meat and wasnt a fan. I couldnt say what but it was a little off. But, we both decided since we couldnt get a table anyway to just eat after we docked. At the hotel we sat down and my hubby opened his and pulled the top bun where the gnat was and ate. I took of my bun and pinched another piece. As I put into my mouth, I caught a whiff of a scent. Then I realized the problem, my meat was going bad. Now. I had spicy and my hubby had regular, so different sources. I tried his and it was really tasty. He tried mine and told me to order room service. So, beware the food but enjoy the cruise!

The Riverboat is certainly an attraction on the Tennessee River that was for us nice to be back on the water. We stayed on the top deck the entire trip. The beverage shack was handy but poorly stocked., The line to get a drink extended aft a long way with just one person serving as a bar tender. Nice lady, but initially there should have been at least two or three working back there getting drinks and reducing the line! There was no wine served on the top deck and since my wife and I were going out to dinner after the boat returned to port we had to settle for a hot beer! We were told it was downstairs, but not upstairs. It should have been at both locations! The singer was good with a large range of songs. He also had a very good voice. The trip was nice, but could have been better with attention to detail. Im a former Naval Officer and I notice things most people dont on these outings!

We didn’t get an upgraded package; however did get a window table. Really enjoyed the music but they didn’t play the entire trip. Which was fine, but unexpected. Had a great time and great views. Service was wonderful.

We actually rode the Latirude 33 instead of the Southern Belle and it was an absolute blast. We had an engagement, a first catfish catch and a couple celebrating their 3 year anniversary, plus my wife and I were on our honeymoon, unbelievable trip on a custom built pontoon party barge on the Tennessee River. Captain Mark was a very accommodating host with an extensive knowledge of the area. If you take the trip ask him about the country club you pass on the trip. We also saw two bald eagles which I got pretty good pics of. Highly recommend this as a must do in Chattanooga.

When we to Chattanooga we decided we would take cruise on the Southern Belle and glad we did. We had about a 40 minute wait for the next departure, but they have a nice gift shop plenty of seating and even a Burger Bar upstairs where you can wait. And upstairs they have Foosball, darts and TVs and a nice seating area so there is enough to do while you wait. As for the cruise it was very nice and relaxing, we only did the sightseeing cruise but I believe we will do the dinner and sunset cruise on our next trip.
