Absolutely an amazing company! I have just relocated from California and was looking for a reliable internet provider. Before I became a customer, I had the privilege of speaking with Tabitha, a lovely woman (with the most delightful attitude) who gave me all the information to make the best decision when it comes to internet service. I also was able to speak with another woman (I’m kicking myself for not hearing her full name due to traveling cross country and spotty service, I know the first part is pronounced “you”) who was just as pleasant to work with. Once everything was set up, it was working amazingly! I haven’t been a customer for more than 24 hours and I’ve already been able to utilize the 24/7 chat assistance and was able to work with a wonderful man named Matthew to figure everything out remotely! (Turns out my only problem was my electrical is attached to a light switch 🤦🏻♀️). Very, very grateful for this team of prompt professionals! Thank you so much!

I have paid large amounts of money in advance and twice now they put the credit on the wrong account!!! I went to open a online account and there website is a joke it will only let you click on that’s months bill. Tried to click prev months bills and it keeps sending me to current month! So I download there EPB app is this a joke!???? It has three options and is layed out as a if a toddler created it. Still no way to see my previous months bills? Thanks EPB
I spent an hour on Live Chat yesterday. It ended up that I was scheduled to have a technician come out sometime this morning. At 11:48am, a tech calls and says Im on my way to your house. Ill be there in 25-30 minutes. An hour goes by, so I call the EPB number to see if the tech is ok. The response was dispatch put him on another order. What?! No phone call letting me know. And now they have no idea when a tech will be here. Maybe tomorrow. What?! Worst customer service! EPB does not care about their customers.
Jonathon Simpson installed my wifi + router a few days ago and he was an absolute joy. Give this man a raise he deserves it!!
I had a tree that needed to be removed and we were prepared to do it ourselves but it was growing between power lines. I contacted EPB about disconnecting the power while we cut the tree down. They arrived right on time, cut all the branches as well as the tree. That’s great service.
Great internet, but it baffles me that in order to get a static IP address you have to pay the astronomical business prices. Just please let me opt out of the CG-NAT and itll be the perfect internet company in my eyes.
Epb utilizes a smart meter that is employed as the housing for a network that can be used to control your home.

Sooo, EPB did some gardening for my mom! They damaged a garden a few years ago so she called and gave her a piece of her mind. Well this year after working on the pole, they went ahead and voluntarily sent a landscaper to help with the re-beautification of any damages. They put in some pretty sandstone step stones up to the pole and planted a few flowers and bushes. I thought it was a lovely gesture and makes me really proud of EPB. I think they honestly truly care about their Community!
My experience with EPB since moving to Chattanooga from out of state has been one of surprise and delight. Their personnel are all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. This is not my experience with most utilities. Kudos EPB!
A lot of unnecessary power outages!
We recently had an issue/concern with a tree that EPB had trimmed in our front yard. I called the office to speak with Vegetation Management department. They took a message for me and within a couple hours someone from EPB was at my door to address my concerns. It was a very pleasant experience and I was extremely impressed with the prompt response.

Customer Service is TERRIBLE. They have gone downhill over the past 5 years as it used to be excellent, in the past month I have been stood up for 2 appointments and blamed for their service outages by employees. Little to no apology for standing my up.For a company that is technology based, they can sure screw up a simple credit card update - watch out because if you set up your autodraft over voice, your changes online do NOT transfer and they do not let you know when they cut off your service even though your bill says DO NOT PAY.

Some of the best service around. I think they learned from Chick fil A. Phones were having a issue and they had someone out to me within hours and replaced my whole system. Keep it up EPB
EPB Main office located on Broad St downtown Chattanooga can process your power and fiber optics billing quickly and efficiently. You have to bring your bill or be prepared to wait a little longer to be processed. The majority of the staff is helpful and courteous, everyone has a bad day. The staff representative I delt with went out of her way to assist me.

USUALLY WORKS WITH YOU WELL. HAD VERY FEW ISSUES WITH THEM. NORMALLY READY TO HELP. VERY NICE PEOPLE BEHIND COUNTER IF GO TO OFFICES IN PERSON. EXTREMELY CLEAN ENVIRONMENT. LARGE SCREEN T.V. SCREENS ARE DISPLAYED HERE. GREAT PARKING AREA AS WELL.

Poor customer service. Completely unacceptable collections practices. I never received a final bill, so they decided it was appropriate to call me at 7am on a Saturday morning to collect the $50 they were owed. I haven’t lived in Chattanooga in over 6 months. Happy to pay my bills if I know what to pay during reasonable working hours. Wow!
Love how family oriented EPB is. They always have great family events for the employees. Love that we get to be apart of this amazing company.
Fantastic customer service, especially since the issue was our own fault. Problem fixed within 24 hours and the technician Paul was wonderful! On a separate occasion we called that a power line was sagging in our yard after a storm...we didn’t expect them to come for a few days but they had it fixed by the time we got home that afternoon!
Great place to pay your power bill...if youre into that kinda thing.

I have been with EPB for five years without a problem. When a need arrived for a second internet connection your technician, Heath Lusk, came to my house to install the connection in the downstairs apartment. A 12 block wall presented some unusual circumstances which Heath was able to work around and complete the job quickly. From his first contact with me he was friendly yet professional and turned out to have a great work ethic which showed up in his quality of work. Thanks Heath!
The service provided by EPB Fiber Optics was the most responsive Ive ever had. Ive lived in four different cities in the past 5 years and the response time of technicians is outstanding. I highly recommend!
EPB puts At&t and Comcast to shame. Once you switch you will never go back. If EPB doubled their rates and the other guys offered service for free, EPB would still be the better value. Their service is one of the best things about living in Chattanooga!

Very happy with EPB since we switched from Comcast. Customer service is night and day better then Comcast. Service doesnt drop during storms like it used to with our previous company. Definitely worth the money switching. Internet speeds are faster than majority of the country.

Big 3 level Christmas party with all the food and deserts you can eat! Pictures with Santa for the whole family. Kids receive a present from santa/ EPB. Christmas lights in the windows of EPB building. EPB holds this Christmas party every year in Dec.
My wife called trying to talk with a technician and ended up on hold for an hour and fifteen minutes ( this started at 11:35 PM) so she eventually hung up. I called and was able to speak with a customer service person and she said they were experiencing a high call volume. This was at 12:56 AM. They are a complete joke and a waste of money. Dont waste your time or money on this company its not worth it. We have had the service for 3 years and it has never been right. They have replaced router after router. Now we can even watch tv on our smart TV because we loose service every 5 to 10 minutes. It took a week to get a technician to check it and he said they have problems trying to connect to smart TVs. That funny because all our neighbors have them with no problem. I pay for a service I cant even use. I have read all the reviews about how great customer service is. Well thats not been my experience. Terrible wait and no results. I have been hoping for 3 years that they would fix the problem but 3 years is as long as I am waiting. I will be finding a better option. Truly disappointed

Ive hid epb for 3 years now and Ive had nothing but problems with the internet and they seem to think that replacing the router 4 different times, updating them 2 times and moving the router location will magically fix the problem but guess what it doesnt. Absolutely terrible cable and internet for the last 9 months! I pay for 100mb/s and rarely see over 30mb/s. With 2 devices running just now I got a speed check of a pathetic 4.5mb/s! Theyve checked my install and lines and all is fine, they just can not provide the service they claim. The new install went well 9 months ago from Xfinity and customer support has always been polite but sadly completely useless in fixing their slow service.There has been a daily audio screech on commercials the last few weeks that could blow a speaker out or your ear drums if youre in the same room! They can not properly synch the audio I guess? The picture constantly pixelates daily too. This is with just one TV on and no other devices. Just an overall terrible cable and internet experience. Xfinity was far superior not only in signal quality and speed but also what is provided in channel selection/availability. I can not stand Xfinity and their business practice choices like not supporting Net Neutrality after saying they would, but it seems to be the only reliable choice in Chattanooga! So unfortunate!!! Get it together EPB and actually provide what you advertise and sell!EDIT: 3 months after this review I have still had nothing but trouble with EPBs fiber optic internet. Even Netflix has trouble streaming on 1 device almost every nite so I did another speed test over 3 different sites. I was tested at LESS THAN 1 mb/s on every test! This is unacceptable when you are paying for 100 mb/s speed and service.

I have never had such good service from any provider - let alone an internet/cable provider. The internet speed is blazing fast, it is easy to reach LIVE support online or on the phone and technicians are skilled and helpful onsite. I just moved from the West Coast - and EPB of Chattanooga sets a much higher benchmark for internet/cable reliability and service. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Never going to back comcast. Only ever written about 2 reviews in my life but sooo happy with EPB I had to! Customer service is super helpful (and local). People say comcast is cheaper which is true for the first 6 or 12 months but they it goes way up! Paying less for more and supporting local at the same time! Super happy!

7/1/17- 1:30 pm Several bad storms had moved in the area today. Lots of people without power, internet, etc. Therefore, the Epb had several issues they were dealing with.Needless to say, I was digging a hole for a plant in our yard. I cut our fiber optic cable. In turn, causing cable/internet outage. I also live in Dade Co, Ga on the back of Lookout Mtn.I called to report it and was told that since its a holiday weekend with lots of outage that it may be fixed on July 5th. I understood that other areas would be a priority over my neglect.At 7:30 a Epb truck arrives at my house in the pouring rain. The technician was very professional and had it fixed within a hour. It was raining hard the entire time.Kudos to EPB and their staff!
They was charging my son outrageous and my son turned his equipment in and everything and my son called and talked to a supervisor and the supervisor got my son upset and EPB can not raising prices anymore and the broadcasters can not raise there price anymore and my son asked EPB to get sonlife broadcast network and they didnt want to and EPB wanted to charge my son 197 close to 200 and everything and its to high

First, let me say I much prefer EPB fiber over Comcast, as EPBs basic internet plan (100mbps) is faster than Comcasts fastest (80mbps).The largest drawback I have with EPB, as we just discovered in our new house, is that the Cisco boxes (the one you connect to your TV) support an internet connection out the back (via an RJ45), so you could possibly run another access point, or say CONNECT TO YOUR SMART TV, but they do not support this.The house I had before this DID have this capability, but I was told I was just lucky, and that if a technician saw this she/he would disable it.I was told that the internet going through the box could negatively affect the TV, though I never saw that at my other house. Now I need to run an ethernet cable to my TV (or get a roku stick) which is going to be a major PITA, even though the boxes they provide SHOULD be able to do this, but they dont want the support headache I guess.So, if you get EPB (which I recommend over comcast and AT&T), note that you wont get an internet connection at your box, but if you are all WIFI, you should be okay.
The best electric provider Ive ever dealt with bar none. The best Internet provider available!! I moved a few yrs ago, and considered an apartment. Several of the apartments had contracts with Comcast and that was a deal-breaker. Ive seen how Comcast Internet at a friends house couldnt handle a laptop, 2 devices, and a Wii.Customer service is reason enough to give 5 stars, 100mbps up to 1 gig is just 1 more reason to love chatt!!
I am very disappointed in the epb fiber optic service,I was charged for the gold package of there service for 6 years of service,once I caught on to the huge mistake cause I was only getting silver service,so after weeks of goin back and forth with them and serveral promised calls back that I never received,they finely said I was owed right at 1500 for the overcharged bills,well then they said I would have to call to request a refund check to be mailed out,so I did,then was told it would take 2 weeks to be sent,here it is over a month later still no check,so of course I called again to ask about it and they still working on it, talked to a lady Friday who said she would give a call when she gets it figured out,now its Sunday with no calls still,poor customer service!!!
Never going back to Comcast! Have had my net connection through epb for 2 years and have never had a outage. Dont seem to be slowing down Netflix to extort money from them. Gives me the speed that they advertised. With Comcast I had their hd service with dvr, gold package and Internet. Same service through epb cost me $20 less a month, is faster and I dont have to call every week to get my dvr reset. Ill never go back..... Not to mention it took me a year to get a box on the pole fixed. Every time it rained service went down. Do yourself a favor, if you have comcast... Switch!
