I was referred by a friend that is a client. Husband and I are OTR truckers that stay out lengthy times so when we do get home our schedule is very tight. This year our accountant that we had over 17 years retired. So looking for a new accountant was a big deal for us. Got our completed tax returns back and was shocked at our return and not in a good way. Sent Mr. Babb an email which was short of some questions. No answer from him for days. Called office and was told he got the email and that I could make an appointment AFTER April 15th to answer any questions then. I was shocked at the response. When you have a new client you would think you would provide professional customer service and make that client feel comfortable about their taxes. I guess my expectations were too high. Now since I have concerns Mr. Babbs refuses to not send our return in. No fee was charged to me but I guess business must be good for him since he clearly made a choice to not even try to work with me. He stated in the past when situations happen like this he does not file the return and dismisses the client. So if you want a cut and dry, no question, no answer accountant then Babb and Associates is the place to go. He did offer to scan my personal documents so I could send it to another accountant that I dont even know or have met personally...I dont think so! Never in my 51 years have I ever witnessed a business ran like this or treat new clients like this. So when we do get to come off the road, weeks from now and having very little home time, we will now have to go thru all of this again. Everything happens for a reason just frustrated it had to be us that it happened to.
