Not very professional. Especially the lady at the front desk. I would rather go to the dealership and pay the extra for better service. Had no problem paying $55 for no apparent rereason. Wont be using them for our company fleet anymore.

Took my car to this place for alignment and after 2h waiting they said “we can’t do alignment because of my bad tires” and charged me 50$!!!! Can you believe that? They charged me 50$ just to say they can’t align my car while there was nothing wrong with my tires! Everywhere else would do alignment checking for free. Finally, I took my car to NTB and they aligned it in 30min without saying even a word about my tires.Avoid!

I cannot say enough good things about Bobs Wheel Alignment. Their integrity and professionalism is outstanding. Firstly, their alignment service is exceptional. Secondly, I experienced an unfortunate situation and Bob made it right. As a small business owner myself, I have the upmost respect for him and his business practice.

This week was only the second time Ive had my 2012 Ford at Bobs and the first time for something that could get pricey.I had my car towed there early after this past Monday after the front right brake caliber became disconnected causing my car not to go forward which mustve happened as a result of something not being tightened enough when a family member did a brake job for me.Anyway, my father called Bobs to let them know my vehicle was being towed there. I did not have an appointment and I know they stay pretty booked so I was not expecting my car to be fixed and ready that day or even the next. Honestly I was expecting maybe Thursday at the soonest. I got a call on TUESDAY from Todd with an explanation of what happened (which the tow truck figured out but Todd went into more detail) and what was left to be done because I decided since it was already there to go ahead and get an alignment and inspection done. When I asked how much I was looking at Todd said about $300 but when one of the ladies called to tell me my car was done and my total it only came to $258 and change. Thank you to the mechanics who worked on my car and got it completed sooner than I expected!The previous time I had my car here was June 2018 for a front left wheel bearing that Univ. Tire and Auto told me I needed almost a year prior and could not do an alignment on the new tires back then. Ricky told me I did not need that repair but actually needed two tires for the back and he could try to match them. When I told him my plans for trying to match an extra tire that came with my vehicle when I purchased it he was totally fine with it and DID NOT try to do a hard sell on their tires like some places might. He accepted my decision and that was the end of that conversation. This is what first made me trust Bobs and realize how honest these guys are!

Had a small local shop perform an alignment on my pickup truck and received it back with a misaligned steering wheel. Took it back and the truck steering then felt numb and vague. Decided to take it to Bobs and the truck steers like new. This result, combined with their pleasant, friendly attitude earned them a new repeat customer.

I called to get an on the phone price quote for a couple of tires and Scott (I think) was extremely nice, answered my questions and gave me a recommendation on which of the tires were better for me than the ones I was leaning towards. The ones he recommended were a little bit cheaper which made me feel like he cared about what was best for me and not just making $$$. I will add Bobs to my recommendation of local places!

Brought our new RV here to get several things done-wanted a nicer ride so upgraded shocks and a sway bar. But also needed some out of the box work done on our battery compartment so we could upgrade our batteries. These people are great. All the work was done and done well. First time going today to Bob’s wheel alignment and the ladies behind the front counter are absolutely wonderful! So sweet and can tell there is lots of personality. Shop was clean, and very comfortable waiting area. My alignment in my 2012 Camry was a fair price of $89 and some change and I was in and out in about an hour. Had a lovely conversation with a customer of theirs that’s been going to Bob’s since they opened and he spoke so highly of them. Car drives like a dream afterwards and in appreciative of their service. Thank you!!!!

Service was fine, but I walked away thinking these guys were pretty shady. Had a free oil change I won in a charity auction that was capped at $45. Came to check out and had to pay another $12. $57 standard oil change? Got charged for extras like washer fluid without providing consent. Sketchy.

These people are amazing. My first ever review written on Yelp, but I just came from Bobs, and I was so impressed I want to let everyone know. I had a small issue, and took it to another shop for a quick fix. They said Im at the back of a long line, and to go see the front office, they can get me in whenever they are less busy. I called Bobs, and they said they would take a look right away, since it was small. I checked in, and the service manager got one of his guys right away. While I was waiting a brief while, Bob himself came out to greet me; he didnt know me from Adam, but you can tell hes the kind of guy who takes care of his customers. The service tech fixed my issue in about 5 minutes, was very polite, kind and knowledgeable, and the manager told me no charge, Merry Christmas. Best mechanics on the planet.

I went here for an oil change, tire rotation, and state inspection. They left one of my tires completely flat and now that tire is ruined. How difficult is a basic tire rotation for a wheel alignment place? I recommend avoiding at all cost. Ive never witnessed this level of incompetence anywhere else.

Updated*My fiancé brought our 06 Honda Odyssey in for an alignment and 4 new tires. The tires that I had previously on the car were 235/65/R16. They charged my fiancé for 235/75/R16. Tires that are clearly to big and when I called to tell them that. When I arrived today to have the issue resolved they took care of it no problem so I’m relived and thankful they saw were I was coming from.

I am distressed to write this after trusting Bobs wheel for several years. I took my old but well maintained Volvo in because the high beams were stuck on and he previously admitted installing a windshield wiper motor that was broken but, lets see if its affected. Well, it didnt function properly. I was called and told that they could not find the turn signal assembly part and that I could come pick it up while they searched for the part and waited for the new windshield wiper motor to arrive. I came to pick it up after hours and the battery was dead. I left it there with a note about the new issue and was called the next morning and was told by Todd (Bobs son)that a cell was bad in the battery and it should be replaced. I had immediate doubts about this answer. I asked Todd to jump the car next morning and I would pick it up. I took the car to Central Battery locally and was told that the battery was fine, save a discharged cell and that it just needed to run a bit. When I went to pick it up from the 2nd install of a windshield wiper motor, the turn signal assembly was broken, flopping around and completely unusable. I told Todd about this and he said well, let me do some checking. His employee clearly had broken it and not disclosed this to his boss. I ended up taking it to Import Autos where Nat took care of it. Bobs wheel alignment did in fact pay for that repair at Import Autos but at that point, I had lost my faith. I asked Nat at Import Autos how much they charged for the part and install of the windshield wiper motor was and it was over 50% less. Another blow. Very disappointing to have put my trust in Bobs and realize I was so misguided. Heed caution, these guys are dishonest. Side note, I have 5 automobiles and sadly trusted them for a few years. I have to wonder how much money I lost to their dishonesty.Sent from my iPhone

He offered to comp the price of the higher-grade ($14) wipers they put on my vehicle and was super professional and polite about it. I explained that being a new customer and needing that inspection so badly I felt at their mercy so being surprised like that made me put my guard up. I appreciated the offer to comp the price of the parts but because he allayed my worries I said it was all good and that we were square. Giving them 5 stars because they gave me prompt service and when we had a dispute that I was unsatisfied with, Todd rectified the situation. Makes me feel like I can trust them with my business. Will be back. Read my original 3-star review below.******Giving Bob 3-stars because when telling someone its $16 for an inspection and then giving them a $47 bill because they need new 2 wipers, a simple phone call saying heads up this is gonna be 3 times more than we told you is customary and polite. And $14 wipers vs the $7 ones? Cmon now yall. I appreciate gettin my inspection done at the end of the month, Im sure its busy and all but a simple call as a heads up would have made me feel a bit better about bringing my car into Bobs for the first time ever.

These guys are straight up! They do such a wonderful job!! Because of the size of my truck its hard to get the wheels perfectly straight but these guys get it spot on every time!!

Ive been taking both of my family cars here for over 7 years. I mostly use them for inspections, but also use their services for tires/alignments/oil changes as needed. I do most of my maintenance work myself, so Id know if theyre full of poo if they ever said I needed anything when I really didnt. The few times theyve failed my inspection were for valid reasons, and they didnt get pushy when I mentioned repairing it myself. I will certainly continue coming here. I guess the only negative is they dont really communicate with you if something small needs to be replaced during an inspection, theyll take the initiative to replace lights/wipers and youll find out at the desk you were charged without necessarily having approved the work.

Bobs is thorough and doesnt break the bank. I have had mostly good experiences from using them for my car repairs, and certainly have nothing bad to say about the mechanics. They are not often available for same day or next day drop off since they are very popular in the area, and I have been told we can schedule you next week multiple times on the phone. The front desk workers have been grumpy and unhelpful to my questions about 50% of the time, but all in all a mechanic shop I would recommend.

They just charged my son $80 for an oil change. Im 42 years old, and Ive never heard of an $80 oil change. Ridiculous. We wont go back there.

I went to Bobs because I had a hole in my tailpipe and a inspection. They fixed the hole and did the inspection in a short amount of time and for a fair price for the work that was done .

Well after my 5 hour wait and $200 bill (for a 30 minute, $90 brake pad job).. Im not too happy. Especially after when I got my vehicle back, my brake pedal was floppy. To which I returned the vehicle and asked them to return it to normal. After ANOTHER hour, they returned the vehicle to me again with the SAME floppy brake pedal.... I fixed my own problem in 5 min. Awesome job Bobs.

Bob and Todd are great! They helped my in-laws troubleshoot a problem with their car - they installed parts that didnt fix the problem, but where other shops would have continued to shotgun by replacing and charging for more parts, Todd removed the parts that didnt solve the problem, and only charged us for what we needed! This is uncommon in an industry that frequently takes advantage of elderly people. I dont go anywhere else for my service, I highly recommend them! They will work with you! (Even if youre a Grinch!)

Dont go here. Seriously. Dont do it. I dont care how convenient it might be, dont go here.They notoriously fail inspections for insignificant things that other shops will pass on. Like the last time I was in there and they eye-balled the measurement of my brake pads and failed them. Took them to another shop which told me there was plenty of life left. I had 2 coworkers fail inspections there that week alone that should not have. Another shop passed their inspections.Bobs is a classic example of one of those shops that looks for ways to make a buck off their customers. And theyre very good at it - most people dont know enough to call them out.So save yourself the trouble and do not go there.

Parking is cramped, but overall great experience. Make sure you get there early, to avoid most traffic and get parking.

Have taken at least 5 different cars there over the years and very rarely had any problems. I recommend them to everyone and they are the only shop we could find to work on some of our less common vehicles. (73 Porsche, 66 VW and an 89 VW camper with an engine swap) The few times they made a mistake, they fixed it.They have patched many tires for me. One was even so bad they said they werent sure it was holding air so they didnt charge me. It held air for the next two years, and I eventually went back and paid them for it.They only time they failed me for inspection for a problem we didnt think was real, Todd the manager put the car up on a lift and showed us in person what the problem was. It was very real and could have been dangerous.They are not the cheapest shop in town, and they tend to suggest replacing parts BEFORE they are unsafe. I think both of those are signs of a knowledgeable experienced people who try harder than the other guys.If you have any concerns, just call and talk to them. They will take care of you!

Prices are very high, service is horrible, and they will try to sell you stuff that you dont need. I should have known better but it was convenient since I could walk to work from there. After my last experience and telling my co-workers what happened, several of them spoke up and told me that they also quit going to Bobs. While very convenient for us, they had also been ripped off.

A relief to be able to write a five star review as a rare event for auto service. 02 Jeep. After 4 services (including three diagnostics) at another Main St. repair and tire installer with whom we were getting increasingly frustrated, and with an ever increasing repair cost tally to match - with no changes (only charges), I went to Bobs WA (to get a needed wheel alignment, where we always go for alignments but nothing else thus far) -- only to think of asking them about the air conditioner trouble on the off-chance they could be of service/help.To my relief, I actually got to speak to the owner who took time to explain all the parameters of what could be the further trouble with it - and to suggest a course of action by which it could be diagnosed. Not done by Univers....... Sorry, by the Main Street operator who should go nameless. No, Im not fickle, but this was the last of several problems ranging from basic honesty through to plain old lack of care (and know-how) Ive had with the competition up the road. Back to Bobs, who made time to diagnose and repair directly (and within a day) as that which 4 visits and well over 1k couldnt seem to bring about on Main St - and then just as directly, got it done and for exactly what it should have cost in the first place. All charges reasonable (to the point of no padding, just time and materials) for what could have been easily made as if to seem complex but turned out to be straightforward. All disclosed. The aircon is working superbly. I will get all servicing done from here on in at this place.. Thanks to all concerned.

Thanks Bob, I had a wonderful two experiences here. They were more than fair with me after the state inspection horror show I had with two other brand name cheats. I swear this Va. State inspection scam is a license to steal for mechanics shops, but these folks were good to me. Most of us need brake pads or rotors so to fly off the handle so quickly, not knowing the real shape of your vehicle is not a shops fault ! Ever wonder why most complaints are over failed state inspections because of brakes ? Keep it real. I can name local shops worse, far worse !!!

I took my 89 Saab to Bob. No one else could find the oil leak that I had been having problems with. Also now that Saab has gone out of business it has been hard finding parts. They had no issue getting the new turbo that had to be installed and they charged me fairly. I would recommend Bobs to anyone. I trust them so much they now work on all my cars. And every time I leave I am satisfied with the work.

UPDATE: Recent experience was not great, but I added a star because I was called IMMEDIATELY when they saw my review first-thing Monday morning. I now understand there were some forgivable, extenuating circumstances leading to some glitches in communication, and I was offered a refund for some of the seemingly ambiguous charges noted below as well.Ill still probably get my alignments and other under-car work done there because that is their specialty, but will pay closer attention to invoices and probably use a small shop closer to home for seasonal tire change-outs simply due to the high cost of somewhat frequent swapping of tires on a couple of cars.Review prior to above:Gave a good review recently, but was disappointed with my recent visit, so I will share the reasons why:Experience: Despite a drop off at 9:20am Tuesday for some simple work (state inspection, tires mounted, and an alignment), my car was kept overnight without notice, and the shop was closed (5pm) by the time I thought to check back. (Not my primary vehicle, so maybe they assumed timing was not a priority for me?)I called the next morning, but for reasons not given, it wasnt until late that afternoon - almost two full work days - before some simple work was completed. And for the record, it was 3pm and they still had not called me to say the car was ready, so I called to make sure it would not be kept yet another day!). No explanation was given as to the long delay for usual maintenance-type work (refer to note above re. forgivable reasons), but I did find out my cars battery had been completely discharged (clock and radio settings were zerod out).Costs: $41 apiece (PLUS $6 for wheel weights) to mount tires (tires I brought with me - this was a seasonal tire swap from summer tires to all-season - and I did not buy this particular set form Bobs). There were ambiguous-looking charges of $21.60 for shop supplies and an $8.10 hazardous materials charge. (What next, a parking fee?) If so much had not gone wrong with the overall visit (at least the work was fine), I wouldnt have mention this, but... when having tires mounted at Bobs, there is always a large amount of white, goopy residue left on the tires and wheels. At the prices charged, should I really have to go home and scrub my wheels and tires - or pay to go through a car wash to scrub all that off? (Maybe so, if this was a shop charging bargain basement prices, but its not).Personally, I think the shop could use a liaison between technicians and customers so they can know more specifically what was done with their car. I suppose most people just want to know the work they asked for was done so they can just pay and get on with their life. Im the type who wants to know more about my car than, Does it work?.All in all, a good company to deal with, but very busy and high-volume for a local shop. Prices for service are at market, so no bargains to be had on services, but they WILL come close to matching Tire Rack for tires and mounting/balancing and are probably the most qualified for suspension-and-below work in Cville.(Update, Ill give another chance based on response to this review, but still think they need to wash that *#&! off the tires and wheels before returning a car to the customer).

Traveling thru from another state. Had a mishap on the highway and damaged the front end of my vehicle. Bobs got me in for repair the same day, got me back on the road again and even suggested that I go to a local repair shop when returning home to replace a part that they did not have in stock. Also charged a very reasonable fee for their services. My experience was excellent with Bobs.

They had my car for over two weeks... They still didnt know what was wrong. They just kept telling me that it wasnt worth fixing. Whenever I called, they were rude to me and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I thought my car was going to be totaled until I had it towed to another garage in Charlottesville where is was fixed in less than two weeks. Ill never go back to this place.
