Horrible I am attaching photos of a counter top install done by Lowes of Charlottesville, VA. 3 times installers tried to do this job and attached are the final pictures from a current renovation. I reached out to the countertop department to not hear anything for 2 weeks, to finally speaking with my contractor sales rep who had a manger call me, who in return sent photos and the installers notes that the template for the back splash was incorrect that was done by a Lowes Representative, to now hear there is no discount. Myself nor any of the other 3 contractors I work with or the property management copy I work for WILL NEVER USE ANY LOWES..... I am so disappointed in Lowes. I WOULDNT EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR BUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE SOME RATING
There are points in time where I end up making daily trips to this establishment. They have a huge selection of tools and parts, reasonably priced basic materials, and helpful staff if you need assistance with a home improvement project. I really enjoy my trips to Lowes!!
08/21 update:Those quality front end staffers must have moved on because the customer service desk is a shambles now. I find it hard to fault the front line, they are just mechanically doing their job without reflection and thats fine for retail. But, it also shows that they arent properly trained as what they are mechanically doing isnt very good. Moreover, that management isnt fixing it is a management issue.Indeed, it may all be a management issue. Ive seen more than one manager on more than one occasion specifically avoid dealing with something (like see it, pause, and hustle away).Hopefully someone from the district sees this and comes to help.Old review:Front end staff here are excellent, as are many of the others throughout. There is a very rude man in lumber sometimes, but thats fine.Prices are sometimes odd - both overly affordable for some things and way overpriced for others.Their tool selection has gotten pretty dismal, which is disappointing.

Big store, lots of items for home improvement projects. I needed a TV box to mail a flat screen TV. I did spend some time looking at the video doorbells, but have a problem replacing a $5 doorbell switch with a $175 switch. I like that Lowes gives a veteran discount.
Today at returns, a mistake on the receipt almost cost me $21. I assumed the mistake was mine and left. An employee Donovan took the time to double check after I had left and refunded me the $21. Given that the line was literally out the door at returns, the fact that he found the time and energy to do this was really impressive. Cville Lowes has some exceptional employees, who seem friendly and helpful despite being mobbed by crowds of people.
Last couple times ive gone to Lowes in Cville an associate named Sam (female) has helped me find stuff and done so in a way that leaves me with a good feeling. There are other good folks that work there like Mike in appliances, Richard at the pro desk, and the guys in plumbing. Definitely give these people a raise.
This is the most disorganized big box home improvement store ever. I spend a ton of money here for work and home only because itβs the only one in town. A little competition might do them some good.
I ordered two 1 gallon buckets for pickup from their site. When I picked it up it was just one 5 gallon bucket in the box. I needed 1 gallon for a specific reason but I decided to keep the 5 gallon because I can always use one.Sara at the returns desk said that she would refund the cost of one bucket since I only got one. She said that she couldnt do the return for some reason right then. Said that she would make sure it gets return but has to do it later. Five days later and no return to my card.Now Im stuck with a 5 gallon bucket that cost $15. Im not going in and tell them I really only got one bucket and it was the wrong size. You cant trust the word of the employees at Lowes. Why would I continue to give them my money?
Product variety is good like most Lowes stores. However they do not seem committed to online ordering and curbside pickup. Took nearly 24 hours to fulfill a one item order. Curbside pickup process has improved but still far from there primary competition.
Every store is set up different. I found what I was looking for. The staff was very helpful at the paint section
Im a contractor so visit many similar stores. The staff was especially knowledgeable and friendly at this Lowes. Otherwise all was standard for a Lowes.
CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! Guy scan my lumber multple and charged me for wrong wood, I had to go to customer service to get my money back. Donavan at customer service was very nice and apologetic for the mistake unlike the guy at cashier.
Charlottesville NEEDS a Home Depot! It will make Lowes get their act together, and Home Depot has some things that Lowes never has.
The Lowes in Charlottesville is a joke noone ever answers the phone and they lie when they say they will call you back. Will never go back.

After a year of new normal I personally feel Loweβs has worked hard to support the community during the pandemic changes. I am a loyal customer at Loweβs as was my father during his life he was a loyal contractor through Loweβs dedicated I could even say. I feel Loweβs has been working hard to keeping up with economic issues and working conditions. After all Loweβs should always remember the Moto . The family behind the employees are the real back bone of any good company. Without good supporting loved ones a company would not survive. An old saying a family that vacations together stays together. So remember take the time thank not only the employees but the families who support them to make your company great!
This store has some of the front end employees but they REALLY need to have more than ONE working motorized cart. Rather reminiscent of that Walton store down the street. Great varied quality selection available of so many things not just construction and remodeling.

Whoever is management over the return counter needs to train their employees better. I was the only one in line to do a simple exchange and the three ladies there today felt like social time was more important. I waited and waited and finally was taken care of after their chat was over. Iβd rather shop at Home Depot anyways.
I used to be a big fan of Lowes, but no more. If you are lucky enough to find an employee to help, they are uninformed. The plywood cutting machine is not working - according to another customer, its not been working for a while. Found this out after hiking throughout the store just trying to find anyone to assist. If the cashier at the front had just told me of the malfunctioning machine at the start, it would have saved us all a lot of grief.
The staff is always very helpful and engaged the layout is intuitive and I can find what I need very quickly.

I shop here a lot, but its not because of good customer service.Today, admittedly a Sunday, I went to get a 24 fluorescent bulb.The shelf stock was out, but I could see that there seemed to be plentyhigh above. But could I find a sales associate anywhere? Saw oneperson in entire store except for cashiers.
Great service is the reason for this review. I usually go to Ruckersville for my Loweβs shopping needs due to the high volume of patrons in Charlottesville, but the help I received today from the employees was incredible! Mike in appliances was super helpful and worked really hard to make sure I got the right products for the best price! Lucas in lumbar also helped me with great service and went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed! Definitely will be returning!
When I go for a specific item, itβs usually hard to find or not stocked on the shelf. Their nuts and bolts section is atrocious as well as every other department. I once bought a beat up βfloor modelβ tool chest for a discount because they couldnβt find the 4 they had in stock. This store is chaos. Even if they have it, itβs probably on an out of reach shelf not stocked on a lower shelf. This is a repeat occurrence here that I donβt encounter at neighboring Loweβs and Home Depotβs. Bring a Home Depot to Charlottesville so this store has some competition to clean up its act. Itβs embarrassing and depressing to shop here.
My brother-in-law was in need of an impact wrench to fix his car and received incredible customer care from Joshua. Not only did he take the time to explain the different options, he also made sure that we got the most bang for our buck. To top it all off we were there on Black Friday, which could have been a disaster. Thank you and keep up the good work Joshua and the team at Loweβs!

Every time I go to this Lowes, the customer service is awesome. Not being super knowledgeable about house repairs, I appreciate that I can always find somebody to help me and they seem genuinely happy to help me find what I need and tell me how to install it (and never make me feel dumb:)). Above and beyond customer service!!! Devon has taken customer service to the next level! I was putting a bike rack on my vehicle and the extension pipe did not fit in the receiver because the holes for the pin had been wallowed out during manufacturing. I went to Lowes in search of a vise or heavy hammer to compress the edges of the holes. Devon was walking past the tools department and stopped me and asked what I was looking for. After explaining the situation, he not only found the right solution to my problem but hammered the holes in the extension. He then went out to my truck to be sure it would fit in the receiver. This is not just great customer service but a true act of kindness. You have renewed my faith in mankind. Thank you, Devon!
People act like they do not feel happy to work there
Most of the floor staff here are extremely helpful and friendly, however with the increase in sales due to the pandemic, they have not adapted accordingly. I wanted close to 2 hours after arriving for a curbside pickup, that I got an email informing me was ready for pickup, due to them not actually having the order picked out. It then took them forever to find and pack my order. It would also be nice if they had some sort of special hours set up during the week for contractors who are on the clock and not browsing around for the next DIY project.
Most of the workers are very nice and very helpful!

Customer service was not helpful after the store wasnt able to fulfill an order. Online pick up orders take way too long to be ready. If you need it today you might as well get in your car and go to Walmart. At least it will be cheaper.

Receiving crew doesnt understand hours of service. They would have a trucker leave the dock at 7am even though they were there first the night before just so their installer trucks, who I doubt even have cdls since they drive rental trucks, can spend hours to get loaded while that load of 12 doors gets pushed back a week+ when it couldve been unloaded in mere minutes now. THAT is why doors arent being delivered. Cant wait forever when other stops have to be made in a limited span of time.
Paint shop quick at filling orders. Ordering is simple with selection sheet at order desk. Picked color beforehand, and had order filled in less than 10 minutes. I seem to see value in the range of quality choices and the speed of purchase. This might be a way to compete with Amazon.

I have ordered multiple times from Loweβs online and do the pick up option. I have waited over 6 hours for a confirmation email and today was the last straw. I placed an order for something at 1120 and at 345 still have not received a confirmation. I am currently waiting at the pick up counter only to be told to blame corporate for waiting this long to not receive an email or your order not even pulled.Wow this is the answer Iβm getting during a pandemic. I wonder what reasons/excuses I will get once there is a sense of normalcy.

Spent 15 minutes in parking lot after calling the pickup number.Hung up on me 4 times.Enter store and plenty of employees doing nothing. We visited Lowes in Charlottesville this evening and purchased almost $500 in roofing materials. My husband asked for assistance to load tne purchase onto our truck and was told there was no one to help. As we were loading the roofing material on our truck, there comes two Lowes employees to help another man load a few sheets of wood onto his truck. You would have thought one of the employees would have offered to help us....NOPE, not ONE offer! Typical Lowes with their lack of customer service. Their customer service SUCKS!! We definitely need to find another home improvement store to support.

We ordered 1 French door set, 2 single standard glass doors, 1 transom (glass on the side set ) doors.And of course the 9500$ transaction was ok at first.Our doors have been delayed due to covidOne set was sent back and over and over repeatedly promised it was being made and on the way or by this time end of July should at least be here by now?Well, the first set took 2 months we installed them late March beginning of April.Then the second doors the single doors cost more than the French set for some reason the guy couldnβt explain. They were all mostly the same but ok ?They still didnβt arrived until mid July ?HAHA but oh no it was a problem with the 3rd set that we still to the dayDONT HAVEAnd apparently they came in now as of 8/20/2020?What in the world? Being the only business in town large enough to carry just about anything you can think of to update or modify your residence, I always make this my first place to go when the need arises.

Ordered two rolls of insulation online thinking i would save time. WRONG! After waiting in line for over 10 mins i was asked to wait were i was, i was assaulted by a customer in the next line. Shaking that off, the lowered employee then brings my insulation to the front, after 20 minute wait mind you and proceeded to drop the two rolls at my feet and said have a nice day! Im still at a loss for words...

I canβt say enough about John at Loweβs, typically found in the plumbing. Myself and a co-worker of mine at the hospital have both found him very helpful on multiple home projects. He is a patient teacher, and has been shown to be extremely knowledgeable. Weβve changed multiple vanities, the kitchen sink, a tub (including moving the p-trap under the floor), and John is our guy! At this point we know his schedule; key player to the team in Cville.
I went to get a key copied here. We previously had the same key copied here a few months back, but worker said they could only copy it so well since it is a pretty old key. The difference in the copies was pretty noticeable. This time, I stopped by, tried the scan-the-key-yourself machine, which said it was unable to scan the key well. Thankfully, I was helped by Jamal at the employee operated key copier. He managed to get it copied exactly, despite him seeming pretty tired and mentally worn out. Shout out to Jamal for being an expert key copying Lowes employee.
I just HATE going to this Lowes. Assistance is so much worse than the other Lowes in the area. Employees always seem disengaged. Returns counter takes AGES. And the music & announcements are always so loud and so awful that it gnaws on my brain. I once asked a manager if they could turn it down and got a snippy answer that its set by corporate. Really? Someone 250 miles away sets your volume? How utterly pathetic. The management of this place must truly suck.

Iβve come in three times to try and purchase pipe and have it cut/threaded. All three times been told there is nobody on shift who is qualified to operate the machine. The last time, the person was extremely rude. I understand that theyβre trying to do the best they can, but train more people up on a service you offer. One time can be an anomaly, but three different times shows a lack of customer service.

Bought new washer and dryer cyber monday good deal.
I bought a washer and dryer in store. When the delivery day came, the driver said that they had 2 dryers to deliver for me, including one to my old address. When I called Lowes to figure it out, they told me that the washer had been damaged. No call and apparently their solution was just to send another dryer in itβs place. 2 dryers arenβt very helpful without a washer. VERY typical experience at this Loweβs. Donβt waste your time. Make the drive to Ruckersville.

After over two months of hassle of trying to get carpet installed, this company has now robbed me. I did not want padding because the former padding was in good condition. The women told me I was crazy and had to order new padding. I bought the new padding and come installation day...the installation team said I didnt need the padding, didnt install it, took it with them...and I have yet to receive a refund. This is theft....
No enforcement of face covering for employees or customers. Isles are clogged with pallets and floor displays forcing customers into close quarters. The only registers that were open were directly next to each other instead of alternating to keep distances greater. This store is recklessly disregarding public health and safety. The acrylic shields installed at registers dont help if your employees not wearing masks just walk or lean around them. At the time of writing this 6/6/20 masks are legally required to be worn inside businesses by everyone.
