If you have nowhere to go then go to The Haven. You have respite services available. Volunteers are welcome but must train first.
I have made contact with organizations that provide information and aid to homeless people through The Haven, helping the homeless make these connections is the primary focus of The Haven year round though they also provide job seeking aid, serve meals and provide various other services, the list of which I dont fully know. I hear people talking trash about it but in my experience it is unfounded and the people who work at The Haven put a lot of time and effort into helping the homeless, which, from my observations, is often a thankless endeavor. On a personal level, though I am still navigating through being homeless, I am thankful for The Haven and the people who work there.
If u need help because ur homeless, u can get breakfast there, do laundry, take shower, they have computers and a day area where some do sleep. Its only a day shelter, no overnight or beds. Lot of competition from so many homeless
Call before you go there. Only the homeless living on the streets can come in the building. Most services can be taken care of by phone now. They still offer breakfast to go threw the old church doors. Lunches are now starting to be available threw some of the churchs that offer take out as well.
Professional caring people! And they serve tasty food!
They have helped me since I first came to the area. They were there to help me get hooked up with the Sally and because if them I have a safe place to live a year and a half thats the longest time that I have been in my own place. Since moving out they have never turned their b aci on me of I need something by or just need someone to talk to all I have to do is call or go in, to be honest the emotional support has meant more to me than anything I owe them a huge thank you
Hey there is where the love of God is truly seen, there is where I have not seen this type of care for the people who needs it. I am giving ten percent of my earnings because the haven is doing what the word of God say to do. I am so happy to see that love is there..
They do so much good, and host excellent community events! Highly recommend their Wednesday lunches! Also if youre looking for a place to donate extra time or goods to they are a very worthy recipient!
The m33t you 1/2 way much LOVE go help them outif you can
The Haven is a great place for helping people who need assistance with finding a place to stay, eat and take a shower. Its a great place for resources to get settled in Charlottesville.
Immensely helpful place, bless yall
Great work being done here and very needed resource
Despite all of its flaws, its a resource for the less fortunate among us, and were lucky to have it. Thats primarily why i give it 4 stars. The people really are the ones that can make it negative. Most of the staff are nice and helpful.
Excellent morning resource for the homeless. Great breakfast food plus coffee. Showers. Laundry services. Friendly staff and volunteers.
The Haven is a safe place to be in time of need.the staff is awesome.
Day shelter for the homeless. Open 7 days a week. Hot nutritious breakfast daily. Many services provided for the homeless including showers and laundry facility.
This is one of the BEST places in Charlottesville, VA, for anyone that needs help for ANY REASON. The staff is awesome, if youre ever in the area stop in and find out for yourself, they helped me tremendously!!!!
Love the job they do there for the homeless
Thanks for ur help Lisa and Rick bless u peace
Needed some assistance, MGMT put me off for two months before answering my call. Another person had to call on my behalf two and a half months later before I was helped. I was very disappointed in this community organization, that is supposed to be in the business of helping people prevent homelessness. As a cancer survivor, my trust in organizations was waned by this experience. DO BETTER HAVEN MGMT. Its not about YOU, but the people that lean on you for help.
Beautiful facility. We visited to see an orchestra, and the acoustics were lovely.
It was wonderful most polite and well mannered staff i ever met at a shelter hope things get better for them once i get on my feet i will donate what i can
