Beware of their free estimate. My wife called ahead and asked if they would look at a leak in our house. They came over and promptly said that they dont deal with plumbing issues (even though they said they did over the phone), and then REFUSED TO LEAVE unless we paid the $83 diagnostic fee. This made my wife very uncomfortable. Needless to say, we will not be contacting them again, or recommending them to anyone.
Replaced boiler in our 100 year old house. Great value, quality, and customer service. Shout out to Randy, who was a pleasure to work with.
Our A/C unit stopped producing cold air mid day Sunday; I called the Blue Ridge number as they installed the Carrier unit. Got a call back Sunday PM and we agreed on a Monday appointment. Got a call Monday morning, and was first on the list. Unit was repaired and back in service by mid Monday morning. Phone calls were managed promptly, service was provided when promised, and unit was restored to working order. Pricing was about what I would have expected, not cheap, but fair. I give them 5 stars - Mondays high temperature reached 94, that might be part of it!
Very attentiveThey care
I have used Blue Ridge Services twice in the last month. They have been responsive, reasonably priced, professional and go the extra mile. Theyve made it to our preferred vendor list. The work was electrical in nature, but well be calling them for HVAC and plumbing as well!
I called Blue Ridge Services yesterday concerning some electrical problems that we were having with some lighting in 3 rooms in our house. They came within an hour. We have an old school fuse box. They fixed the problem in a honest and efficient way. They were very polite and professional. We intend to use them for all our future service calls. Thanks
Professional, quick, polite and efficient! Great experience for what I thought would be a dreaded pain. Had the system the next day and installed. Four years of dealing with crappy AC and they had me freezing by 5pm. Very happy!
I am so sad to write this review. My family feels BRS was not as thorough as they should have been and are driven by profit, not our comfort. We have since given our business to another business after discovering today that it is only the sensor of the TXV that is faulty, not the entire TXV like BRS told us on Monday. In late May, we first called BRS and Chris came out. After doing a leak search for our upstairs AC unit, the leak could not be found so Chris topped off the unit with 5 pounds of Freon and LeakStop. It is now early July and the upstairs AC unit, which is a Trane and only 7 years old, is not working properly again. Having initially hired BRS back in late May, we called on them again. When the estimate came back for the entire TXV, removing and then putting back the refrigerant, and a RETURN service fee, we were shocked at the $1400 estimate - and that was apparently after warranty pricing on the TXV. Chris did say he would be willing to work on price if I accepted the estimate. When I asked to get a quote for replacing the upstairs inside unit, BRS did not try to suggest it was a small repair but were quick to say they’d have a salesman call me back the next day. I never got a call back. Since having a consult with Albemarle Heating and Air, they shook their head about the work BRS did in May, as it came off suspicious that a leak search was completed but no leak could be found yet it needed a lot of Freon. That and Leak Stop can apparently lead to other problems, such as issues with the TXV as we have now. The tech with another company thoroughly inspected everything and found it was only the sensor part of the TXV. However, even they missed the mark and we had to go with a third company, who discovered it was the COIL that was the issue. Our TXV is electrical and given the young age of the unit, it is unusual for it to break. So the sensor turned out to be estimated at only $200! That and the tech from the second company manually opened the valve so air can at least flow better than it was - and did not charge us extra! How come BRS did not take a moment to consider our comfort and do this kindness? My mother is 71 years old, mercy! And the second company, unlike BRS, did not charge a return service fee to finish the job once the part arrived. BRS was not rude, and I do credit them for arriving same day, but our family feels taken advantage of, as if the work done in May led to this new issue in July which would require them to come out again. I no longer trust BRS. I am deeply disappointed.
Ive worked with Blue Ridge for about 15 years, and I wont call anyone else. I love these guys!
After issues with another company, I used Blue Ridge Services when my AC was freezing up leaving my house heating up. They were able to get onsite quickly, diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly, and showed me all the other things that should have been inspected by the previous company but wasnt. Not only do I have better running A/C now, but I can plan for maintenance in the future. Refreshing to have pros that arent about over charging while under-delivering and help with planning for the future.
I interviewed 3 other companies to replace my HVAC and Randy and his team beat them all by price and professionalism, by far. Super happy with my new furnace and AC, and really blown away with their integrity and responsiveness when other electrical issues popped up unrelated to this job! Looking forward to a lifetime of support from Blue Ridge Services...
Cant say enough good things about Randy and Blue Ridge Services. Theyve gone above and beyond several times and been prompt and pleasant from the first interaction. Highly recommend.
