I have been emailing back and forth with Taylor James, our account manager, the last email from her on 9/15/21 said that we would have our dumpster in 1 to 2 days. I left on vacation last week only to come back and find out that NO DUMPSTER had ever been delivered. The supervisor Gregs last day is today and he is apparently not taking calls. We were in Charlotte and moved to Gastonia. We have been a customer of theirs since 2017. Its obvious that they dont care about customer service from our experience and all of the other terrible reviews. All they want is for you to sign their contract and then just forget you. They sure dont forget to bill you though!!

If you are considering service with these people, run the other way. They miss pickups on a regular basis and when you call about it, if you can talk to someone they just blow you off with an oh weve been busy and well try to get out next week. Nevermind that you have a massive pile of uncollected recycling. Better yet, they still want you to pay for the weeks they dont show up and its a major effort with a lot of wasted time to get those weeks taken off your bill. I dont know that you could be any worse of a company if you tried.

We have been using this company for dumpster use and pickup. The driver does not empty the dumpster fully. We have contacted them numerous times and nothing is resolved. Their inability to do their jobs correctly makes it difficult for us to do ours effectively.

I should have listened to the reviews. PLEASE believe the reviews. After they PROMPTLY took my money - I was told they’d drop of a bin and there we are - EASY! NOT! 2 weeks later I still had no bin, and when I called I was told, “it takes time”. For what?!?!? Amazon gets me my stuff in two days. I figured you could get me a bin in two weeks. NOPE. THEN I was told that I could just “leave bags of trash” by the street and they would pick them up. Yeah they didn’t do that either. THE WORST kind of company!! They take your money then leave you high and dry!

If I could rate these people 0, I would. I asked them to set up my 3 waste bins when I moved into my new home. The woman on the phone was very rude when asking for my details. After spelling out my name and making sure I heard everything right, I was told to wait 7 to 10 days. After 10 days and still not having received the bins, I called them up again but the same woman replied rather annoyed and very rudely that It will take 10-14 days and itll be there when itll be there. Not sure why Im paying for such horrid service. After 3 weeks of waiting, I still dont have my bins and on calling again, another woman picked the phone and notified me that my account wasnt even created by the earlier woman! So now I have to start all over again! This is unacceptable and unbelievable!

This company is great when it comes to waste services. Representatives are responsive and will work with your requests. Alexandra and Tori are always easy to get ahold of and courteous. They really help alleviate a little bit of stress that goes along with all the moving parts of construction. Great job as always! Highly recommended.

They consistently skip cans to dump and spill all over the road and drive away. Ive witnessed them, on multiple occasions, missing the target altogether and dumping a full can on the street and drive away running over the bags and tearing them open making the mess even worse. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!

Consistently late on pickups, and I havent had a pickup in 10 days as of today, despite daily calls. Customer service has been friendly and cooperative, but the complaints must not be making their way to dispatch, or they are trying to get rid of their accounts in my area. Im not really sure. Regardless, Im leaving. Save yourself the hassle and stay away.

I called a couple of months back to report missed trash service in the 3+ years Ive been here. Their records showed my can was emptied and that we mustve filled it back up and that I was trying to get a free visit. They offered to come back out to service it, but for an additional fee. I can understand if I was a habitual caller claiming they missed my pickup, but this was the FIRST TIME! Now they missed my cardboard pickup that happens every other week and again, they offered to make a special trip for an additional fee. Poor customer service!!

Over the last two months my trash was picked up once and that was only because I called and reminded them that they had neglected to pick up the trash on trash day.....AGAIN. I called the office several times and the receptionists could care less. I told them to cancel my service and they told me that it will take up to ten business days to pick up my cans....Guess what?? Today is business day 10 and Im confident that they wont come by to get them. One thing that you can Trust about this company..... that they wont keep their promises. Pitiful

We need better options as consumers for residential trash pick-up.This companys trash pickup is sporadic and recycle service is worse. Last year trash and recycling were one price; this year they charge for recycling separately at 33% higher price for pickups only half as often as before. This is not the first time we have been charged more for service cutbacks - and thats a shame. Receiving service half as often is also an increase in rates - too bad most people dont really stop to think of it that way.Would be so great if we had a choice for a company that valued their customers for this necessary service.

This company needs a complete & total overhaul. My experience has been less than satisfactory by far. My account is in good standing & paid UPFRONT for services we simply DO NOT receive. My residential waste has not been picked up in FOUR weeks!!!! I have called & spoken with multiple service reps & always ALWAYS am promised “This will be scheduled this afternoon/tomorrow at the latest. We’re very sorry for your frustrations etc.” I have kindly understood the service location, new driver, driver out sick today, route changed explanations.... Unfortunately our next day pick up NEVER HAPPENS! What am I paying for? Last I checked headaches & extreme frustration were not in the service agreement! If you can avoid Waste Connections of NC PLEASE do!

Took our money up front 3 mos. Picked up trash twice in 2 months. Absolute nonexistant customer service or managerual staff. Seems no office to return can yourself for refund. Ladies answering phone take your money and your messages, thats it. They could care less and no one ever gets back to you. Cans been outside for weeks no one has come for it. Left my house drowning in trash on Christmas with no explanation, no calls, nothing. Its January 6th. No sign of them. This is how they do business apparently.

This morning my recycling bin was spilled onto the road with broken glass left in the street along with other items for me to take care of. These workers need to have a little respect for the job they have. They had no problem leaving me a note a few weeks back regarding what items they didnt intend to pick up and wouldnt empty the bins.

I wish giving ZERO stars was an option. This is/was the most awful customer service I ever experienced. Huntersville trash collection is a joke, they dont pick up your trash, they argue with you about how right they are and how wrong you are, and they dont resolve issues. I had to call the office four times and each time the issue was not resolved. Natasha the suppose to be manager did not get on the phone, she had the agent tell me my trash was in the alley and not the front of my house and thats why my trash was not picked up (as if I dont know where the front of my house is).

I have used Waste Connections on all of my Job Site projects and I must say they are the best. I was assigned Alex as my rep. and she is on top of all my needs. When I call they sometimes can do my swap out that day or the next. I have nothing but great things to say about Waste Connections.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. They miss my house all of the time and when I call to tell them, they constantly lie to me and tell me they will come back that day and then they dont. Why am I paying a company my hard earned money that CLEARLY doesnt care about their customers. I have trash bags piling up because I have nowhere to put it due to my cans being full and noone picking my trash up. Dont use this company, they truly truly do not care. It is sad. Saddest part is...I RARELY give bad reviews to companies.

On 12/4 I called requesting a replacement for the wheel they broke on my can when picking up trash. It is now 1/16 and I have called 4 times since being assured each week they would come out and fix it. Terrible customer service, unfortunately the only option in my area.

Lousy service! Incredibly long wait times to resolve issues by phone. Constantly miss my trash pick up. I mistakenly paid in advance which I should not have. Ive been told by an internal employee that they are having service issues. They are having a hard time finding employees and the ones they are finding our of the lowest of quality.

Their service is horrible. I am missed usually once a month and now it is every other week. When you call you get excuse after excuse...they are down a truck or two, a new driver. They are always writing a missed pick up ticket but still not picked up. You ask to speak to a service manager and no one ever calls back. After the second time or so of calling, you start to get attitude from the people answering the phones. The worst event happened this week. As Im coming home I pass their truck pulling out of our road, as I get farther back the road I see they emptied 1 persons trash and you could see where they went to the next driveway and turned around. When I called and complained, I was not so politely told Its not a missed pick up until 4:30 and I would have to call back then. I called then and my trash is still sitting!! All I want is what I pay for.

What a terrible company. I live in such a weird part of huntersville this is sadly the only company that comes out this way and will pick up. I never got a contract or was told what I was paying for so the first time I paid 3 months which is an insane $80 for inconsistent service, I travel for work quite a lot so they came got the cans after 3 months that I decided not to pay due to travel. THIS SECOND TIME OF HAVING SERVICE, I paid $80 for 3 months like usual, then they never came and got the cans I stopped using the service, after 3 extra months they didn’t come get their cans I wasn’t using, they finally came and tried to sock me with a $350 bill and they wanted a $150 deposit. WHERE DO THESE NUMBERS COME FROM. Waste connections sucks $80 is outlandish for 3 months anyways considering 1-4 tines a week they seem to be on a consistent schedule, my last apartment I paid $10 a month.

Waste Connections took over our disposal services from Advanced Disposal. They sent no correspondence of the transaction, meaning we didnt even know our service provider had changed. They came when they wanted (pickup day was Monday, they came on Tuesdays, and even Thursday as our trash sat on the street). Then they stopped picking up our cardboard recyclables. All this while still charging the same price we paid Advanced. DO NOT USE WASTE CONNECTIONS!! Bad service.

I called this company to order an extra garbage bin. They explained there would be a $15 charge every quarter for the extra bin and that the bin would be delivered within ten days. Well it’s been 30 days and I’ve made two calls to remind them of my bin. I’ve at this point requested a cancellation and asked for a refund for the first quarter. Let’s see how long it takes for the refund.

Driver shows up consistently early at our business and lays on the horn until someone comes out. Recently, he did this, but no one was able to come out to move the dumpster at 5:30 am (business opens at 7:00) so he left and never came back. When we called customer service they told us that he came after 6:00 and the dumpster was blocked and if we want them to come back the following day, it would be a $70 fee! This was Thursday 3/29. Asked if this could be waived, and they said we would have to speak to our salesperson and they would have them call us. Today is Tuesday 4/3 and we have not yet heard from this person, nor has the garbage been emptied. Worst customer service ever. Oh, and their driver speeds down a residential street near our business that has a 25mph limit at speeds over 45mph. Kids are all over this neighborhood. Avoid at all costs.

This makes the 3rd Monday in a row of NO TRASH SERVICE. My husband or I have to call EVERY Week to say hey your driver doesnt pick up our trash. I pay for recycling. And have actually watched them twice take my hard worked recycling and put it in the regular trash truck...so I stopped. Ready for them to just take the trash cans. They always have the same excuse. I have never had a worse experience with a service provider than I have with Waste Connections. They missed 2 pickups last month. After the first missed pickup I called to let them know, and never received the promised return call with an explanation. After they missed the next pickup and we essentially went a month without service, I called and told them to pickup the dumpster and cancel our service due to breach of contract. I also sent a certified letter to document the cancel service order, and the letter was returned.

A business in our complex quit paying its bill but kept using the dumpster owned by Waste Connections. Needless to say - it became an eyesore. I called WC and left a message regarding said eyesore, not only was my call returned same day- the dumpster was picked up and gone within a few days. I even received a follow up email telling me the problem was resolved and to contact them if needed. A big thank you to Ty and Waste Connections. Would recommend this company any day.

If I could give less than one star I would. We have a commercial contract for recycling pick up at our business - they are supposed to pick up once a week. Almost every month they are running behind and then miss a pick up so we have trash / recycling piled up for an extra week. This month, though, its been two weeks since pick up. Ive called very day for a pick up and every day they tell me we are coming today but they dont. They also excuse themselves by saying they are backed up. Well then dont contract with too many customers, know your limits. As it is we are stuck in a contract. Had to call corporate office, well see how that goes...

So, the wheel fell off of our trash can in March. We reported it Mid-March. Since then, we have called 6 times and asked them to fix our trashcan (or replace it). We have had Waste Connections for almost 18 years (formerly Cleanwell Sanitation) and I have had to call them a handful of times because their drivers drop trash on the ground and leave it. On one instance, I saw a large piece of styrofoam drop from their truck into my neighbors yard and they left it. Most recently they refused to pick up our trash because the can was too full. I understand that they have rules and restrictions, but they should be clearly communicated to the customer. We finally had to call them after a couple of days of our can not being emptied to find out that the driver took a picture, but no one bothered to call us to advise of the situation. We have gotten no communication from them, in fact, we didnt even know they had bought out our previous trash company until we got the bill with the new companys name on it. Furthermore, when we reported this to the BBB, they responded with several lies, saying they offered us solutions, when they did not and that I refused the supposed solutions they offered us. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If I could have given them 0 stars, I would have mainly because of their dishonesty.

If I could give less I would. Since the Town of Huntersville switched to this company weve had issues of things not being picked up on time. Drivers leaving nasty notes about how we recycle -meaning we dont divide everything up. Today they decided we had too much dirt in our yard waste can and refused to take it. I called and the lady told me yard waste does not mean dirt, only grass clippings and leaves. If this was the case maybe we should have been notified by the company or town of the criteria changing since the old company had no issue...

Wast Connections bought out our previous company. Since then it has been bad. They have missed three of the last four pickups and we have trash piled up. It is hard to get anyone on the phone and when you do they cant help. I have left many messages but no one will call me back. We will be changing companies.

Im currently working with A&A Auto Repair and this company doesnt pick up the trash and dumped their dirty fluid in front of our main office and left it stinking. Theyre route and management system are not doing what they get paid for and their drivers are not compliant.

Been living in Huntersville for 25 years. Never such bad trash collection services like this one with Waste Connections of the Carolinas! Not sure why the Town of Huntersville would switch their trash service to such inferior and hostile servicing company.In my case, my trash did not get picked up on regular day. I called to find out that there is now a rule that the lid must be closed or trash will not be picked up. And to call back at 4:30pm to request next day pick up even though we were on the phone already. No problem. Took out two of my trash bags stuffed full with empty Lowes mulch plastic bags from the weekend yard work. Closed the lid. Called them back at 4:30 as they requested.Next day, Wow, same thing. Trash not picked up. I called to find out this time that the small piece of a plastic bag is caught sticking out of the lid and thats why it can not be picked up. See picture below. Now Im told I must wait until next week for regular trash pick up even though we have a week worth of household trash sitting 2 days already in this heat! No reasoning with them here. On top of that, the two reps that spoke to me on the phone were rude and shout over their customer a number of times. Stay away from this company if you can. Town of Huntersville...can we have Advanced Waste Management back please?

I own a dealership International Auto Group and I had a trash can with this company I spoke to Angela French who is the ( wanna be CEO ) of the company she has a nasty attitude and is very rude she doesnt know how to communicate with customers, I am not the only person to complain about this nasty woman. She told me she was going to send someone to pick up the can and throw my trash on my property. I emailed multiple supervisors in regards to this matter and nothing has been done. I have been with this company since 2016 and never had a problem since the moment she wanted to rip off my company with false charges. I tried to complain to multiple supervisors and nothing has happened to fix this matter so what I did was closed the account and took my business elsewhere. Angela French is racist she called me out my name this is very unacceptable and I dont know how this company still has this type of service. I would never recommend this company to no one. I am very disappointed with the way Waste Connections handled my account and would NEVER recommend them to other companies. My office space lease finished about three months before the waste collection agreement was finished. Having moved out of the office I did not need waste collection for the last three months. I went ahead and paid the full amount of the future waste collection payments IN ADVANCE so that I was fully paid through the completion of the contract. After I confirmed that I was fully paid, I arranged to have the waste bin collected. About a week later I receive a letter in the mail with a bill for $170.15 for Liquidated damages for early termination of contract.Let me recap because I must be missing something:* Waste Connections has received 100% of the funds due them for the full term of the contract* Waste Connections received three months of the funds in advance allowing free use of these funds* Waste Connections had the ability to reuse the waste bin in advance before it was due to be returned to them reducing their operating costs* Waste Connections was able to avoid the cost of picking up the waste bin for three months saving operating costs* Waste Connections was able to avoid the cost of paying for the disposal of waste for three monthsSomeone is going to need to explain to me how this constitutes early termination and where and how Waste Connections has been financially damaged to support charging Liquidated damages for early termination of contract.Beware of this company and make sure that your contract with them doesnt extend beyond your office rent contract or you may experience the same problem I have had with them.
