I went to the Albemarle Road location on October 5,2021. There were 2 ladies at the counter. I had to greet them first. I told the lady that I wanted to inquire about getting a hitch installed on my vehicle., she proceeded to pull up information on the computer and put my information into the computer... she told me a date and a price and I agreed... then she told me that I would have to pay for shipping the pet for my vehicle to the store... what!!?? ... ok... I agreed and she then said that her computer was not responding and picked up her cell phone to scroll through. She then pawned me off on the other lady who had absolutely no clue whatsoever what she was doing... she had to ask the Other lady for help. They ended up saying that the part would not arrive by my scheduled date so I declined and thanked them and walked out. They both really seemed disconnected because they were carrying on their own conversation and also on cell phones at the same time trying to assist me. We also have an indoor mask mandate here in Mecklenburg County and neither one of them had a mask on. I ultimately made another appointment at the South Boulevard location to have the hitch installed. I think this location may lose business if they do not make some changes and get some more qualified employees to run this location. Unfortunately it is very well located so a lot of people use it. I would do your due diligence and double check everything if you have to use this location.
I have used this location multiple times.. its the same professional service every time. The trailers I pull, have all been in good condition. I make sure I get coverage every time so theres no surprises. All in all a great u haul location. I definitely recommend.
I ONLY use this U-Haul location. Although some of the staff has come and gone over the years, the Manager Curtis runs a GREAT business at this location. Over the course of about 10 years form renting from here, I have never had an issue and if I ever did Curtis would make it right. U-Haul has come a long way from where they were a few years ago with messed up reservations and old equipment.I only rent from this location as I know Curtis and his crew take care of things and I will get a reliable rental.Upon my return today, was greeted by Nautica. She guided me to t ascot to return my trailer, was friendly and I was in to return the trailer and out in less than 10 mins flat.Keep up the great work Curtis and crew, will be back again.PS- Dont know what some of these other negative reviewers are Bi%$&ing about. Yes, the place can get busy end of a month as they are a large location Maybe they never pay their rental bills or expect things to be free, but I have never had a bad experience myself.
This location is ran by incompetent people . I don’t blame them I blame the school system for failing them . They can’t read or count money I’ve had my unit for 1 days and they put this lock on it after I’ve made the payment . Please go yourself a favor and don’t come to this location and I am currently in contact with action 9 with payment and balance slip in hand zero balance
Worst storage facility to walk into everyone is lazy and does everything but their job general manager needs to be fired he is illegally locking up to date units and always has an attitude
I had reservations for tow days and when I wanted to pick it up told me not available I said at least let me know text me so I can manage myself told me you been talking with somebody else we don’t have for you do it whatever you want impolite way . I did call customer service the send me to go pick up truck 20 miles away from address
I’ve had to come here for a few years now as it’s the only propane filling place I know of that’s close to my house. Every time I come it’s always a bad experience.You ask for help and staff just stand around talking, playing on their phones or on smoke breaks, not willing to help customers. Most time it’s me and several other customers waiting in the parking lot only to walk back in and find staff on their phones and not helping anyone. You ask for help and they act like you’ve interrupted them.Every time I go through this dance where they say they can fill certain tanks because no date. I then point out the date and they’re like “okay, didn’t see it”What should take 15 minutes is an annoying 45 mins to an hour of poor frustrating service.
Very bad service, by Eric.miue recommendation is that they go to another or haul that they have a better person to customer service and not this bad man named Eric.

Pick up was easy. Staff is very patient and informative. Great rates and 24 hours rental was so helpful. Drop off was super simple and I can not thank the staff enough for their great service. Special Thank you to Andrew for all your help!

Large location/facility with pretty much everything you need to move for sale or rent on the inside. Staff was par for the type of place--I had no issues. There were some major issues with their phone/website when I reserved my truck, but everything was ready and waiting on the day I picked up. If youre moving on your own muscle, this place will work just fine for providing the necessities.
They did not have any moving pads available for rent, only one small dolly to rent, and total came out to double what i was told it would cost. Very dishonest business will not be returning.
I had to visit three times until I was able to get all my online ordered and confirmed packing supplies! Youre not supposed to confirm an online order when you are out of stock! And the front desk lady was anything but friendly, pure rudeness!

Made online appointment Monday for Friday 6/30/17 for a trailer hitch installation. I arrived when they opened at 7am ( which was my appointment time) and they told me that the hitch wouldnt be there for another week!!! But my credit card was charged with no problems. The clerk told me that they were going to call me to let me know when it arrived. They never told me however both online and in person that Id have to wait for the part to arrive!! Dont go there!!! They suck!!! I had them refund my money, and they didnt even apologize for the situation!!!
I understand this is a business, but it should not be ran by a manager who wants to talk over a service member that is working on Veterans Day whom was put on 1 month orders has a limited time to make a request to extend a few days to avoid a monthly charge on his 1 way storage. I mentioned how another U-Haul location was able to honor my request of extending a few days to avoid a monthly recurring charge without even having orders and she said that managers could do that, but she does not have to even with orders. I started to explain my situation and she just kept talking over me and I asked if she could let me talk and to stop talking over me and she just kept talking and rambling about things that have already been said and not listening to what I was saying or having to do with any new information I was going to say. It was also hard to concentrate on what I was trying to tell her because it was distracting hearing her at the same time.
Had a scheduled reservation but on the day of, they did not have what we reserved. Valuable time and energy was wasted looking for a truck the day we moved!
I’ve rented vans from this location a few times. I’ve always had a quick and pleasant experience. Even the times when I haven’t made an advanced reservation.
Can you say the WORST customer service!! Problem after problem! Long waits when you call; they close at 7 & stop renting cars at 630 even if you have a reservation for 645; they also don’t let people in their storage units! Today I pushed the propane button & waited for 15 minutes just to go inside & find out they were out of propane while the guy at the desk was playing on his phone!! The laziest staff ever!!
The hours posted at this location are inaccurate. Storage access says 7-7. We were asked to leave at 5:30 before we could finish unloading our deceased mothers belongings. We had a 26 truck of stuff and we werent told we wouldnt have access after 5 pm at check in. Called this morning to be contacted and still no returned phone call. Received an email about 24 hour access to storage, but I was told this is a new location and its not offered yet. AFTER making the reservation and dealing with people who had no idea what they were doing. Customer service was no better.
Customer service is pretty good. But I picked up my stuff out of storage, and its full of roaches. Dont use this storage!!!
Got to the place there was no one at the counter waited for 10 minutes, then someone came to the counter waited for another five minutes and no one ever helped

Can I give a lower star? Like a negative 10? I have tried to get propane for my grill for 4 weeks (went 4 times). Even called before I drove over (2 times),they confirmed they did. Upon arrival, the service area is broken. I asked why they tell me that they have propane? He would not answer. Horrible serve, horrible management. Yes, I went 4 times. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Lazy, bad service and bad management. This should NOT be a problem.
Bad customer service, one of the guys told us to drive back around the long because he had a truck parked in the wrong direction. The Spanish looking girl has a bad attitude and my family doesnt have roaches and never did went to get some stuff and there was 3 roaches in my stuff that I could see maybe more. For about 3 week now there has been a uhaul truck just sitting at the storage unloading bay just taking up space and to the right of the bay sits a trailer blocking a good portion of the bay making it hard to back into it.Idk why but my mother came back to this uhaul and this time after standing in line for about 30 or 40 minutes some Spanish lady comes in behind everyone and the lady working the desk says to the guys moving the dollies, this my friend what ever her name was and to get her a tow and to do her paperwork, its was 3 other customers in line waiting at the time why couldnt he help move the line faster
Customer service is number one in a business and all these cats care about is leaving instead of helping a client. Worst customer service. I’ve been waiting for ever to drop off a trailer.

I adamantly advise against using this uhaul location. I scheduled for a hitch installation and was told they could only be scheduled online. As an office worker, I chose this location due to weekend availability. My card was charged for the entire installation, prior to receiving a voicemail from the facility stating they dont have staff on weekends, and I should come in Monday morning. I spent two days attempting to contact this location back with either a busy tone or simply no answer. When I finally did get in contact, I was forwarded to the main uhaul costumer service. Even the main uhaul customer service was unable to get ahold of the location. When the facility did contact me back, they acted as though nothing was wrong. Fortunately, the main uhaul costumer service was able to cancel my appointment and refund the charges. I have no intention to do business with this location again.
Terrible Customer Service. Then they messed up my refund when I cancelled my order in person and charged me a $219 cancellation fee. Now I’m sitting on hold trying to get through to corporate to get it settled. I get they thinks come up and techs get behind but no one was working for 45 min that I was there waiting on my hitch install. Ordering mine from Amazon now and getting a local shop to install.
Piss poor. Made a reservation for Christmas Day to pick up a truck, my family is moving out of state. Got a confirmation email and all, show up on Christmas and no one set aside my equipment to pick up after hours. I’m stranded in a U-Haul parking lot in Christmas and my family is behind on moving because of these jackoffs, give your money to someone else.
Terrible experience with Uhaul. This location quoted me a rate, then couldnt fulfill my rental (my equipment was apparently stolen) and so they sent me to another location which didnt get the rate information I was quoted (of course). So I had to drive twice the distance to get it, and when I get there theyre not even open yet (cause the text AND email Uhaul sent me both said they were open at 9AM, yet in reality, they werent open until 10, nice). So not only did I end up paying more, but was inconvenienced and so far all Ive gotten from anyone at Uhaul is were sorry. Store clerks are basically useless, store manager wont call me back, customer service has been of little to no help as well. Terrible customer experience and terrible customer service that could easily be remedied and avoided yet is not. Poor. Never again Uhaul. Never.

Terrible .. I had a reservation for a truck and a furniture cart but when I picked up my truck they said they only have 1 but they could sell me 1. Now I had to lift, walk and carry furniture by myself. Thats why I needed the cart.
