A very bad experience! I wanted to start a modeling career and went to John Casablancas at first it was everything wonderful until they said i would have to pay more than a thousand dollars for a “modeling school” that takes 2 years to finish after that we could get booked for a job if someone wants to work with you if not you’ll stay paying without any jobs for you, they also said it could take months for you to actually get a job. I had the worst experience ever!
I went to JC over 11 years ago at the ripe age of 18. I decided to come take a look at the reviews randomly... I see that not much has changed. I went through my training and graduated. I went on various photoshoots.. I actually booked a job in NorthLake mall modeling clothes in a store window with a few girls in my class on a Sunday after being in Charlotte the entire day prior.. You think things are legit, however they spend more training and camera time with the most attractive of the bunch. It really changed the tone and time we all spent there. Please do your homework before wasting your money on training you can find online for free. This modeling school is a SCAM.
From the first day i stepped into JC, i knew i was there to pursue my dream and they really helped me accomplish that till now, being a graduate of JC model and talent management, ill never forget my experience i had in John Casablancas.
I started training with John Casablanca in March of 2019, every since Ive been satisfied with my training. The training helped me get out of my comfort zone. They helped me build my resume and my portfolio, and other marketing tools. The instructors and my classmates are very helpful. Overall John Casablanca will teach you everything you need to know to be a successful model/actor. THIS PLACE IS NOT A SCAM!!!! You guys need to spend money before you can make money. Also before you start posting negative reviews, CHECK YOUR GRAMMAR!! thank you.
Total scam. Had their director specifically tell me I would not have to pay for anything and then the first thing they did was ask for money. STAY AWAY. The lady who interviewed me was very rude and condescending.
First thing, I would like to say thanks to the instructors and staff at John Casablanca Center in Charlotte. I am pleased with the training that is provided to my son. The John Casablanca Center in Charlotte feels like one big family. In order to succeed in life, you have to have knowledge of whatever field you choose and that is what the center does, scout, train and help you seek work. John Casablanca does not promise to make you a star overnight, you have to put in the work in order to become a star. There are two things in life in order to make money, you must put in time and money, nothing is free. My son has gained a lot of knowledge while attending the center. If your not willing to invest in yourself, no one else will either, that is called wasted time and no company is going to put in the time if you do not believe in you. John Casablanca is not a SCAM, its about how bad do you want it. Are you willing to learn the industry in order to make it. The reasons why I like John Casablanca is because they train you and you are with them for 3 years, redo photos and even retake a class if you decide. I would like to say to all those who was interested in John Casablanca check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed. When watching all the negative videos and reading all the negative reviews, they either never researched the company but decided to go off all the negative videos and reviews of people who display pure ignorance. Some people started and got discouraged because they stopped believing in themselves which allowed all the negativity to consume them.I am not affiliated with nor am I paid to write this review. In Life you have to not be afraid to be different.
I have to say Im so happy to be apart such a great and amazing center! I have just started here at John Casablancas and I am amazed with what I am learning and with the people that teach here at this center!. Im oh so excited each weekend to be class!. I Highly Recommend this place it is incredible!
THIS PLACE IS JUST A SCAM. Please people read your contract. At first I didnt believe it, but my social worker read the contract to me and unfortunately I wont able to get my money back and I regretted it big time. After three days (calendar days) theres no way getting your money. THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY MANIPULATIVE. PLEASE DONT FALL FOR IT. AND I FELL FOR IT. TRUST ME DONT GO TO THIS PLACE OR TO THEIR AUDITION. THEY JUST WANT YOUR HARD-WORKING MONEY.
I started taking classes and John Casablancas Modeling Center about 2 months ago. When I started I wasnt really sure what to expect or was I going to get anything out of this. I wish I started earlier! From the first audition, the instructors made me feel right at home. Each one of them has a bevy of knowledge and genuinely care about your success in the industry and you as a person. The classes are very informative and hands on. Ive already gotten several opportunities and Im not even half way through the required classes. If your serious about modeling or acting, have the drive to do what it takes to be successful then John Casablanca Modeling Center is where you want to be.
I LOVE this place great people all around. I come here every Saturday and look forward going to it. The environment as a great atmosphere and when my Daughter gets old enough I will be bringing her here in a heartbeat. Once you put in the work the people here are all willing to help you out. Its a great training program (school) and worth every penny. This the place where you can be yourself and bring out your inner child which we all need. If this place had 10 stars I would be giving them all. Two thumbs up!!😃
Dont go to this ! This place is a scam! They charge 2000+ for “modeling classes” but there they teach you more about stuff that you can learn on YouTube for free. The “instructors” there are all common people that didn’t even know what they were talking about. The owner always responds to bad comments talking about “sorry you had a bad experience” “we don’t know you” and don’t do anything about what the people are actually complaining about! They make you do classes and tells you that if you miss a certain amount of classes you will not graduate and lose your money, acting like it’s college. Don’t waste your time, all of the instructors are rude and not professional! I took my time to drive up there everyday, even when I was sick because I couldn’t lose the 2000 my mom had spent for me to be in that place ! Little did I know it was a scam! They never gave any jobs and told me I would be in the contract for 3 years, but guess what????? I got 5 calls in the past 3 years telling me they were looking for “new faces” and I would say I had a contract there and they would say “oh”, “lemme check”, “oh you are here” and simply hang up! I would tell them “ I never got any jobs and I graduated from there, wasted almost 7 months of my life” and they would say “I’m sorry for that experience”And do nothing at all! And during the classes they would ask us to give a good review, that’s why all of the good reviews here are from students that are still doing classes and expecting to have modeling jobs after they are done. Well... you won’t. Trust me !!! And trust me when I tell you that the owner will respond telling me I don’t know what I’m talking about, or that I wasn’t in the class or that I’m exaggerating !!!!!! And trust me, I was in that place, And if you want I can tell y’all everything that happened in this place.Edit: Funny, because this name I used is not a student name, it’s my moms name, and the owner responded as if she knew me, I don’t believe there were another student with the same name as My mom. So that you can see that it’s straight up lies.
This place is a scam they took my money and i been calling to get it back but no one wants to call me back. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, attorney general and the consumer affair. I was told by a worker there that this place is a scam and I see it for myself now.
Im disappointed! My 10 year old son is extremely passionate about modeling and acting. I reached out to different agencies and JC called us back for an audition. We went, done a head shot, walked the runway and was told to come back the next day to sign. During the presentation Janet, the director, said (exact words) if an agency ask for money upfront run! They are there to make give you money not take your money! Which gave me the impression that they were there to genuinely helped my son get a contract! The next day when we return, they asked us to pay $2,200 for classes! Wait! What! Total waste of time! These people are very convincing and nice. So please research before signing the dotted line.
I love JC Charlotte, the instructors are amazing, and help prepare you for a career in the modeling and/or acting industry. They work with you one on one and help bring out your inner entertainer
My 19 year old son visited and I was good with what he wanted to do. Wish I had read reviews earlier!!! We requested a refund 3 weeks ago and I only received $350 of the $645 that I paid. We did what was read in the contract and was not told during the process of requesting a refund within 3 days!!! They take your money in one day but take almost a month to get it back and not the full amount!!!! I did speak to the director and she assured me that I will be refunded.....should have confirmed the amount that I was going to receive. READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING!!!! THEY MAKE IT ALL SOUND SO GOOD! THANK YOU Ms. America!!! Wonder if Mr. Casablanca know about his image with this business in NC?
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM they will make you every promise under the sun then tell you theres a thousand-dollar bill at the end that needs to be paid. Once you pay that nothing will happen, then they tell you you need to enter another program to pay another couple of thousand dollars. Then they tell you they need a down payment for that couple of thousand dollar bill the very next business day. Very dishonest company stay away. In addition their staff has zero knowledge about modeling or whats even going on with the company.
Discovered this place and said why not and try it. Not like any other agency and says we will help find stuff and doesn’t. This place teaches and helps in both modeling and acting. I have made so many friends here and I have learned so much. They are more than just a teacher they are a friend too and they are very patient. Highly recommended John Casablanca Modeling and Acting school for any age young or old never too late to join!!! ❤️❤️
I loved the people that work here they was very nice and invited my oldest son for a modeling and acting audition.....it was a great experience......I hope he gets picked....him on runway
John Casablanca as opened up a whole world up to me that I thought I could never be apart of! I have a new sense of confidence in myself and what I can do to be the best version of myself!
John Casablancas Center is the most amazing thing i could do. You get to meet a lot of people which are amazing and you get comfortable around them. You will also learn so many things from acting to modeling. Overall it is amazing.
I started at John Casablancas Charlotte back in October 2014 after going through an audition which led to me being selected. Despite a few shifts in personnel along the way, I have had a blast there and every time you go in for class, you really dont know what to expect. The staff are very knowledgeable and experienced in modeling & acting, and they do a great job of keeping students on their toes. Sara was my talent evaluator and she and ALL other staff there were very professional and up front with their expectations from students. They do not take slackers or people who just want to just go through the motions, be forewarned. If you have the desire to further your acting or modeling skills or are just getting started, John Casablancas Charlotte is a great place to go and I would recommend it and the awesome staff there to anyone.
John Casablancas has really good benefits for a kid adult and more they give opportunities you see no where else they helped me a lot I was unfortunate since I had to stop going for family problems but I do plan to go back don’t give up an opportunity on them they really are the best for people who have big dreams.
If you listen to one review about John Casablancas... Listen to this. This school has taught me so much about myself and about life in a short amount of time. Ill be a better person for it forever even if I quit today, so just from that alone I gained from it.You have to believe in yourself to make something out of it!! You have to work hard. Nothing is just going to be handed to you. One of the most important things is to never give up and realize that modeling or acting are not miracle jobs. They are skills like anything else! Some may have to work harder than others but as human beings we are meant to adapt and grow better at things so hang in there and have a blast with this school!
John Casablancas is an awesome modeling and career center. I have found that the crew is very nice and they care about helping you achieve what you never thought you could achieve. I enjoy modeling to get on the runway, it helps me to come out of shell. The crew helps you to overcome your phobias that you never thought you would. John Casablanca has really grabbed my attention and interest in modeling. They have hands on learning so that it is easier to learn. I look forward to spending many more days, months, and years at John Casablancas.
I have mixed reviews about this place I went there in my teen years. I did get some paid jobs at the local malls doing freeze modeling so I would get paid to stand in a window for hours and be a live mannequin it was fun but I don’t know if it was worth the investment that you have to put in to get started.
One Word SCAM! Everything negative what people are saying on this feedback is all true this place is some thing else.
Don’t go to this place peoples, they charged me $100 and then I decided to don’t go because my economy situation and I called to the office and I spoke with someone they told me to make a certified letter I did it and they don’t want to give me my refund because they say u just have three days to decide if I want to continue with This program don’t go guys this is scam!!!!.!!.!!! And the secretary is very disrespectful and rude I was explaining to her my Concern and she hang off the phone to me this is not a professional place to start you’re career
This place is a scam!!! Do not go here ! They tell you to do classes and makes you pay a super expensive price. They tell you that you will eventually get modeling jobs. You do photoshoots and classes where you also spend more money paying for the pictures. They then ask you to let a good review when you are still doing the modeling classes, which most people do because they think you will get credited by it. When you “graduate” fromThese classes they don’t give you any jobs at all!!!!! And they eventually call you inviting you to join their classes and get jobs, you tell them you have even graduated already and they hang up in your face. Scam !!!! Scam !!! Scam !!!! Do not go here unless you want to spend 2k and take classes on monologues.Edit: the owner responded to my comment but I am one of the “students” parent, all I have said is true and more and not anything good so thank you for your time and I hope you take care
My daughter started with JC in November 2014 and I didnt really know what to expect! Before she started we had a conversation about our expectations and what we wanted her to come away form the program with and ultimately if she was able to maximize her natural talents and have better communication of herself and her talents to others then we would be pleased! John Casablanca has provided her with a much better experience than we could have ever imagined! She was taught several things so far in her experience which include the confidence to go after what she wants and all the tools needed to get through auditions and call backs with a positive open mind knowing that everyone doesnt get very job! She has been to auditions and has been invited to EXPO in Dallas, TX she has also auditioned for a childrens fashion show and was picked to participate! The latest and probably most exciting for her was being called audition for a commercial in which she will participate in the near future! If you are thinking on pursuing your dreams I highly recommend pursuing them with John Casablanca you will receive a high level of training along with the tools you need to walk into an audition and showcase yourself in a professional manner!
To much money. It shouldnt cost this much for kids looking for a career. Financial problems arent always the best and they should know this. The staff are nice and everything was fine the first two or three times but now I kinda see how people call this a scam. I love John Casablancas but I wish they wouldnt charge at all. I have to pay $139.60 every two weeks. Hopefully, they lower it down. Parents have bills to pay.
I know nothing about this company so I’m not sure what to put for my review. All the comments I see say the same thing and they’re all negative. In the reply section is the actual company, they sound nice but I’m not sure if I should believe them. My mother told me they were scams and now I’m trying to help my friend find agencies and stuff because she LOVES acting. However, I starting to think this company isn’t the best choice. I mean, the negative comments pretty much out rule any others because there’s more. I think the good comments are just from people who don’t really know anything about it and got totally scammed, or maybe they’re just rich. I’m still not sure but I’m starting to lean towards the “no” side on this company because the negative comments seem pretty believable. It’s not like they teamed up and decided they were going to use the same story but on different days. If you can somehow get me to WANT to be with this agencies, go for it, but I absolutely WILL NOT be paying $2,000+ and will definitely NOT pay more than I should have to. At any point will I do that. JC if you can somehow get me to lean towards the “yes” side of your agency, I say impress me, but if not, then I don’t think this angency is the best choice for anyone.
Hi my name is Chris Meeks and I was chosen to pick as actor to train this past summer leading into fall. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Even though it little bit expensive I must find way to get back so that I can start my acting career. Follow me on insta @therealchrismeeks
This place is a total waste of time... I received a call and took my 9 year old down to them explained that my daughter had gone to Barbazion and graduated from there also let them know she has lifetime classes if need be and long story short we sat through the first day listen to everything they had to say then people were cut and if you werent cut you were to come in the next day so we did only to be told that if we want to take their class we could but they arent able to be my daughters agent until she had worked prior doest make sense I should and could of been told that before I wasted my time and gas to go down to their office two days in a row. Parents this place is all about money and if your child has done modeling classes and graduated there should be NO reason to pay another school look for an agent that wont RIP you OFF!!!!! My daughter and I will continue her dream without the LIES and GREEDINESS of John Casablanca of Charlotte, NC
Definitely did not seem interested in me as a model, all that seemed to be the concern was how much money I would be paying and how much money they would be making off of me. I was asked by the person working with us to tell me about myself. As soon as I said something about where I was born, the rep. immediately started talking about themselves, and from that point on the conversation revolved around them. Also, I could not get an answer about how heavily I would be taxed on my split. They dragged their feet to tell me about the $3,000 I would need to spend on high-quality classes for acting and such, when I said specifically I was not there for acting. It was mentioned that there would be strict cuts, when everyone who was in the audition was called back. I will be taking my height and my compatibility elsewhere.
My daughter will be graduating from JC and we loved it. They paid for her photo shoots we only paid for a disc and we werent pressured to buy them. Great school and employees
Our daughter is following her dream, thanks to JC! We were especially impressed with the positive, encouraging attitude exhibited by Director Janet Leigh Barnes, who is a talented artist in her own right. Her professionalism and that of her staff have stood the test of time, as our daughter is halfway through the program and will model in her first fashion show next month! Very exciting. Everyone we have spoken to, both parents and students at various stages of the program, has nothing but glowing praise for this Center and their experience. That includes my daughter and me (taking on the role of Stage Mom, in the footsteps of my own dedicated mama!) Thanks to Janet and the amazing folks at JC Charlotte for welcoming us into the family. Highly recommend this training!!! ~pda
Im sure they have some good ideas but not worth it at all. Front desk was nice. If anything ever sounds too good to be true ...then it probably is. Dont ask people to wait on you. This place is a joke. I am disgusted to be honest. I also have a hard time believing that such a successful business is in a rinky dink office building with definitely not up to date anything. Im just glad I stopped it before it went too far. And this place is definitely not worth anyones time.
Great for starting actors and (or) models
Honestly a bunch on manipulative people work here. They try and get you to come up there after an “audition” and kinda set this (if you don’t sign this contract today then we dont want to work with you) mood ya know? Well what they fail to mention when they tell you about a refund you can get “anytime after you sign the contract” as in the 395$ down payment, yeah they don’t refund that unless you ask for it 3 days after you sign? Like please read your contracts really! I was one who thought everything they told was true.. oh well, now that’s an expensive lesson to learn... 🤷🏽♂️
This is a SCAM. In 2015 I enrolled. Me and a friend of mine gave them thousands of dollars. We stopped going when we realized we wasn’t getting any modeling jobs. After we stopped they tried to tell us we owed them all this money that we didn’t owe them. They wanted us to pay for the future classes that we never attended. We paid for each class when we signed in each time we went. Why do we owe you for the classes we didn’t attend after we stopped going ? Anyways. We wasted so much money. I now model with big names . I have modeled for old navy, and forever 21. I only got these jobs after realizing JC scammed me and I continued on with my journey and found a better way to get modeling jobs. Take it from me - JC is not the way. They didn’t do anything for me. The real modeling world takes John Casablanca as a joke. Don’t even say you are affiliated with them. That doesn’t look good on you because they all know it’s a scam.A real modeling agency will not ask you for money upfront. A real modeling agency doesn’t take everyone. A real modeling agency gets you jobs and then you give them a cut when YOU GET PAID.That’s how modeling works. Take it from a reaModel who is now successful after finding out this place is a scam.
I can testify. I auditioned here when I was 16. I had an audition and they told me I passed. They wanted my mom to pay $2,000+ dollars. So I never joined. We didnt have the money either. But they are scammers. No respectable agency will ask you to pay money upfront..when you are a model or actress in an agency they make money when you do..meaning they take 10-20% of the money you make if you got booked for the gig.
DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT WORK OR SIGN WITH THIS AGENCYANYWAYS.. While I was looking for an agency to represent me, I stumbled across a website that would allow a representative to contact me about an audition. After doing my research on the company, I decided this company is not for me and let her know this in a respectful manner. However, I got a call from this representative a day later offering a 2nd audition, after she told me the 1st was my only opportunity. I, once again, let her know that I believe that I may have misunderstood what JC’s purpose was. She got a very unprofessional attitude with me after telling her this and explaining that I could not afford the classes at this time. I mentioned I did not mean to come off rude only for her to tell me not to believe everything I read (these reviews of experience) and hung up on me. I meant NO disrespect to this agency and still do not, but I was shocked at how this single representative handled it.
I am Steven best know as iamstevo117 on YouTube check me out. This is my 7th week taking classes and I have to say that every one is friendly and they welcome you in like you are a part of there family and you really can’t find that at all. I’m so grateful I found this place I been used so many times people promising Things that there never could follow though at all but this place can. If your worry about if you will not get what’s around the corner for you don’t worry because around my 4th week there I am already in 2 shows and I know more is around the corner also. I been reading all bad reviews on here for the last 10 minutes and yes I do have a life anyways most of he bad reviews is people expecting to become famous over night and that’s not but this place is designed For at all no place will often that to you and if they do it’s not true at all. Also other bad comments is talking about how much and my response is very simple people will spend money on what ever they choose to spend money on so stop making this point lessExcuse of why you can’t do this if you want to you will if you don’t well you don’t want to change your life at all. This place is for people who truly want to excel in life and if your not one of them then please stay away!!!
ATTENTION ( DO NOT DO IT) I AM A RECENT JOHN CASABLANCAS MEMBER 2018-2019I went to Jc in Charlotte my family memeber drove me. I got to JC just in time to take the photos they want you to take before going in. (It all was such a quick process) blah blah blah about how you have to have A’S and B’s if not they kick you out (THEY NEVER ASK FOR REPORT CARDS)I am now in class 16 and noticed the foolery back in class 13 when I realized they never go by what they have on the paper they give you to tell you what each class will be about. My Tecahers were actual JC students who have been there before and have taken classes there so in my head you know i’m like (so you decide to teach here... And not go out and about for your modeling and acting) Things weren’t adding up!!! So I took to a friend who have COMPLETED ALL CLASSES I said that I was thinking about quitting and she said she WISH she had because she didn’t realize until she had completed classes that JC was nothing! (I don’t want to call it a scam or say it was BS) I asked if JCtalent will help (the website you get in class 15 ) SideNote: Class 15 is the class you’re suppose to start jobs and everything ha! No one and I mean NO ONE that I have talked to there (and I ask EVERYONE) has gotten any jobs AT ALL! Back to JcTalent she said that yes JcTalent helps with Jobs only if you can get to Atlanta in a one day notice!!! So I said well that’s not Jc fault let me ask around more! I asked EVERYONE hey have you been getting any jobs being that today is your graduation day? They say “oh, um well just 1” and i’m like so you payed all this money! To only get 1 job and they haven’t been helping? She says yes!Moral of the story: If you get a call to JC please do not take I have wasted so much of my time going back and forth there paying $70 every week and I just hate that I have not only wasted my time but my mother time and her money as well! I’m glad I figured out early that John Casablancas is legit a scam (I will say it now) ITS A SCAM yes you will get classes that are helpful (class 1-6) are ONLY classes that are helpful. Just please DO NOT waste your time! I have yet to quit because I don’t know how i’m sure I heard someone say just stop coming and they will close your account or whatever it is out!But Please save your money, Save your mother money and just look else where there are PLENTY of places that are one FREE and two BENEFICIAL!( After looking at everyone’s review on here I said mine wasn’t gonna be that long but you really have to get into it so that others won’t make the same mistake you made) {Hey! If you want to hear more about it just reply to this comment and i’m HAPPY to tell you more because there’s A LOT MORE)The fact that I have to give it a star just to post this disgust me because i’m supporting by giving this one star and it deserves NONE for taking people money and lying to these little kids!!!BE SMART!!! ALLL THESE COMMENTS TELLING YOU NOT TO DO IT WE AREN’T LYING!
I went here when i was much younger i honestly cant remember when but i ended up getting pregnant with my son at a young age so i was not able to continue. I made some friends and i loved the makeup room and runway. I wonder how things would have been if i continued. Its a bit pricey and i had no idea how much my parents payed to get me enrolled or i wouldnt have made them do that honestly. They were nice but ive seen alot of bad reviews and i feel bad for my parents for enrolling me in the first place because that is outrageously expensive for some classes. Now im realizing it wouldnt have gotten me anywhere anyway and the reviews responses come across incredibly rude but i guess thats just how this acting and modeling buisness is run. Typical rude entitled acting and modeling studio i suppose. Wonder what things they will so rudely snap back at me for an opinion.
I Like Going To John Casablancas Because They Teach You How To Model And Act Well. If You Dont Like It, Then Dont Go. Im Modeling/Acting Well. I Do What They Say Because They Know How To Do It. I Go & Give All My Effort ! So I Hope You Guys Do The Same, & I Know Im Going To Become A Model & Actor !
You respond to negative comments with informing the person that you have been successful for 30 years in the Charlotte area to try and discredit the negative review but successful doesnt mean its legit. You can be successful of stealing peoples money and persuading people into paying for classes that doesnt mean you are successful in helping models/actors getting into the industry and starting their career. Next I signed up thinking it was an agency because i was in need of one, they said they are an agency and would represent me as a model. The sign up required no pictures. Then i got a call saying they were interested in representing me (WITHOUT knowing what i look like) that is very sketchy. I have been with many agencies the ones i signed up online required pictures and then i was contacted for an interview. So that was already off. We went in to the open audition and first of all that lady seemed so uninterested and like she wanted to get this over. It seemed as if she was reading from a script or has done it so many times that it was all routine. we had head shots taken and then went into a room with a runway parents sat one one side of it while auditioners stood on the other side. We stood for an hour while a video on the tv played for 10 minutes after the lady started talking. Then for another hour she talked about success stories all who i have never heard of. She had parents say they are sure they are ok with their children doing this and support them all the way. She also kept repeating that We have to know it will take work for it. As she showed us the success stories she notified that all of them didnt start out like that and they did work on themselves for years. Then she had us walk the sad excuse of a runway and most of the people there were males just looking for acting jobs not runway. When that was done she started the speech that it takes work and blah blah said some stupid jokes and then had us individually stand up next to her podium look at everyone and read the passage we were told to read when the person at the front desk gave us the paper. Then she called off names and told them to follow her assistant who also was the guy who called me to say they wanted me to attend the open audition. Once they left her other assistant closed the door and then she said super fast So yeah you guys made it you have to come in tomorrow for individual interviews just tell me what time you can be here and the headshots can be purchased for 10 dollars when you come in tomorrow. Went back the next day I got the pictures and they are mediocre not even professional a phone camera could do better and the women who sold it to me kept saying they looked good and stuff but they look really bad... I knew there was something up when a college student from the open audition the audition left pissed slamming doors etc. Then the lady called me back asked 2 questions that were why i want to do this and what do i like to do for fun. She clearly didnt care about it. Right after the last answer she starts going over these classes. Then hands me the paper that has what is taught at each class with the price of it, $2000 Everything on there could LITERALLY be found on YouTube or are common sense. One of them was how to apply face masks!!! You also have to pay for the equipment to use and buy your own stuff to bring to be taught how to use it. After that she tells me about the actual agency that YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR to sign up online. They make you come back so you will feel like you have to pay them for investing so much time and gas into it but you dont. A real agency will want you for you and will provide the classes you need.
I love it and the staff are super nice
So when i audition it was great then i got in but we set up for a meting and they started talking about money like big 400 and 60,0000 dollars i really did not know you had to pay for an agency
The only thing Im gonna say is save your money and time people please. So when I went to their auditions, they said they would pay for everything once you enroll in their classes. But what they did not tell me is that I am going to have to pay for every class ($70 for each class). Liars!!! Plus you have to pay $500 up front before you start classes and they cant even promise you can get a job after you spend all that money.
Since starting with John Casablancas, Ive only been here for a little over a month. Ive meet a lot of people and learned a lot as well! I just recently booked my first movie as an extra, but you have to start somewhere right?? This wouldnt have happened without the help from this team and Im excited for this opportunity!!! Thanks!!!
I honestly got scammed about a year ago. you’re supposed to get paid not pay them and they make you pay 2000+ for “modeling” classes? uh huh no
My mom and Ilovvvvvvveee our classes!!the teachers are awesome 😎
My experience here at JC is AMAAAAAAZZZIIINNNGGGG! The instructors are ice supportive and helpful through the program. I recommend everyone to come to John Casablancas. These people make your dream come true
Went here as a teenager in hopes of gaining acting skills because thats what they sold me on, but learned nothing because they teach nothing . If they still operate like they used to they first they have an Audition process which afterward no matter how it went they automatically tell everyone that they passed and can now pay for their classes. Which are mostly modeling classes that teach absolutely nothing by the way. They tow the line that some of their instructors are celebrities but honestly I never met a single celeb instructor they spoke of. They talk of how you can be represented by them as a talent agent but I never knew one person that was represented by them. These people prey on kids and parents who dont know any better. I still remember someone coming into one of the classes who was the supposed head talent agent for Charlotte . The guy told the 12/13 year old girl in my classes she needed to get rid of the fat roll under her chin before she could get any auditions and then went on talking about how people with tattoos where being prepared for the new world order. Guy was a complete nutjob . One of the guys that spoke was introduced as the security gaurd number 2 in lethal weapon or something, like having a featured background credit is some astounding feat. I would say dont waste your money on this garbage, spend it on private acting classes or take acting at your local community college. You will learn much more, even if your going to learn more about modeling I would say your money is better spent elsewhere.
Is DI. Brannon with you guys
Alright people here we go,Read this review before you do anything. It will answer all your questions.I signed with this agency when I was 14 for a 3 year contract, which supposedly included acting classes. They took $3000 of my mothers money for these classes which I later found out are way outdated and useless basicallyThen after I finished the classes and my mom paid the total $3000, they wouldnt let me login to the online audition portal to look at auditions. Why? They tried to tell us that my balance was unpaid. Mom checked her bank records - she paid them the full $3000. They wouldnt even LOOK at her bank records that proved them wrong. So, we gave up eventually and moved the heck on.8 months later - WELL WITHIN my STILL ACTIVE 3-year contract (classes take 6 months, plus 8 months = 1 year and 2 months) I get a call that went something like the following:Hi, Spirit! This is blah from John Casablanca talent agency! We received notification that you are interested in a career in modeling or acting, and we are looking for new faces!I have a contract with you. What?I have a 3 year contract with you. Look up my name and number in your computer system.*keys clacking* ... oh...Then they hung up.I got calls like that every 3-6 months while still in my contract there, all went the same way, and they didnt stop until my contract ended at 17 years old.Or so I thought.19 years old, I get a call. I still have the same name and phone number as before, btw.Same BS spiel as before.Ive gotten calls and NOW EMAILS from them, 7 years after I initially signed with them.Listen, guys, if an agency REQUIRES you to take THEIR CLASSES that they are SELLING before theyll sign you with their agency, IT IS A MOTHER F***ING SCAM. Parents, pay attention. There are other AMAZING agencies in North Carolina who will NOT scam you! Look up Stone Model Talent, they are AMAZING people who will take care of you (or your child if youre looking for an agency for your kid.)I am now older and have a better understanding of the industry having been in it 7 years now with other agencies, so I know now what I wish my inexperienced mom and I knew then. This is a scam,Those Call now for an audition! commercials on the radio are scams,ANY COMPANY REQUIRING PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO THE COMPANY BEFORE YOU EVEN HAVE A GIG IS A SCAM.DO NOT SIGN UP WITH JC. THE PEOPLE SEEM NICE BUT THEY ARE ALL FULL OF LIES AND ONLY OUT FOR MONEY.(Side note: some legit but smaller agencies may ask for you to pay $50 on a website like 800Casting, but thats not to the agency. They find auditions through that site.)
SCAM! I threw 2,000 down the drain to sign up for this agency never once did they care about getting me gigs. Also before you even can get gigs lack there was you have to go through classes. Then I spent $10,000 to go to Newyork where no one got gigs just got rewards for there acting and modeling. DO NOT GO HERE!
I love the family atmosphere I went in for a audition today and loved it they have done such a great job and I just wanted to say that
SCAM! Thats all dont waste your time!
Please dont waste your time or money. Anybody that calls you with a attitude like the company has produced every great actor and model ever lived....PLEASE dont give them your money they suck..........
I have learned so much through them. Modeling is more than just taking pictures
JC IS THE BEST!!!!! I RECOMMEND EVERYONE THAT HAS A PASSION FOR MODELING AND ACTING SHOULD GO TO JC. THE STAFF IS A M A Z I N G ! #CHARLOTTE #5STARS
I went to John Casablancas in Charlotte in February 2015 after being contacted by a talent rep. I got invited back the next day after my initial audition and I was told by an Admissions Rep Sarah Riggins that she wanted to work with me and that they needed more women my age in the industry. I was looking forward to working with her as soon as I could make the payments for training up until TODAY when I find out that she has accused me of stealing her wallet. I am not sure why this lady feels like I stole anything from her; Maybe because I was the first black person she came in contact with. Just because Im black doesnt mean I steal. I would have thought that in order to want to work with someone as bad as she seemed to want to work with me, you dont just willy nilly throw serious accusations at them. Now I am being faced with felony charges because she lied and accused the wrong person of stealing from her. Who knows maybe she lost it, but I dont believe she should have accused me of stealing from her unless she had proof. In either case, I didnt do this. If you ever go there, please be wary of Sarah Riggins.
Why is my daughter being pressured to act when she wants to model??? They dont have to be pushy for payment optiond neither
This is a scam where everyone is rated a B and they want you to pay 2000 dollars for a useless training course and a make up bag. Dont fall for this nonsense.
Awesome my daughter is selected to go EXPO TALENT, DALLAS TXS YESSS VERY EXCITED!!!
Learned a lot still learning
Well JC signed me this Saturday & everything seems legit to me.. It seems like their some people who are leaving bad reviews because they are not what John Casablancas are looking for. JC called me randomly one day & set up an audition with me & a group of other strangers & half of them had the confidence but they also didnt have the look that could make them & John Casablancas money. I must admit Ive been to a couple modeling agencies & audition for everyone of them & Ive made it to the point where they wanted to sign me but i just didnt have the money at the time.. Also the other people who were their for the auditions I went to some didnt make cuts because they didnt have the look or the personality & if you dnt got that your not profitable. When it comes to modeling & acting you have to work. Modeling is not a hobby its a job! Only passoniate people can make it an career!
I got a call from a lady today to ask me to come in tomorrow, my mom said she would like to wait a little while. She wants to know if its a scam? Is it? Anyone can answer.
I think they let me down i am10 years old Janet said she would get a job last summer and never did she let me down and a lot of other kids do you care about us. Janet or are you greedy for money?
THEY rip you off and steal your money. They dont give you any work and just negatively affect your credit!!!
This place stinks, all they do is scam you into buying and buying and buying. Dont go. The name is cringy anyway
I passed the audition and I dont have the money but I would like to work out something with my would have been agent so that I can go along with my career
Great team of professional people who care
This place is a joke!!! Period! $2000 lesson learned.
The school is excellent and everything I was a student there and I graduated but with the dreams of thinking that if I graduated I would be working well boy was I wrong
Dont go here agencies are suppose to give you money not ask for money.
Best experience Ive had in a while
Is modeling/acting classes required?
Too much money I got my hopes up for nothing...
Its all fake but it looks real and then they give you a bunch a bunch a bunch of taxes for nothing I do not recommend
