Probably the best customer service Ive ever experienced! Im shocked by just how helpful every team member was that i spoke with. I woulf recommend this company to absolutely everyone. Thank you guys for all of your help and transparency! I love companies that tell you everything up front. Not to mention I compared rates with all other companies and this was the cheapest by over 20%!

I cant believe how heartless this company is. We scheduled our delivery 3 weeks in advance. The day before we close on our house and the day before the container is supposed to be delivered, Pack Rat called us and said they would not deliver for an additional 12 days. My husband, infant and I now have to live in a hotel for almost 2 weeks before our furniture can be delivered. The only compensation they have offered is $50 / day which does not even come close to covering the cost of a hotel let alone the stress of being homeless for an additional 2 weeks. I will never use them again and urge anyone thinking about it to think twice as well because it looks like I am not the only one who had this experience with them.

The service itself was fine. We rented a pod for a local move. The drivers were quick and easy to work with. The reason for the 2 star review is the online scheduling and billing. These systems are bad enough for me to recommend avoiding 1-800-PACK-RAT all together. I scheduled and paid for the entirety of the service through my online account. Service complete and my online account shows a $0 dollar balance. A month later I receive a past due notice from packrat for $74 for the final pickup. I double check my online account and see that the balance is still $0. Apparently, you are able to schedule the final pickup online without paying the associated pickup fee and after the pod is picked up the online account is Closed Out. So after making 3 payments online the final payment, which I was never made aware of, has to be paid by providing payment details over the phone or email? It just doesnt make sense to me. Maybe this isnt that big of a deal, but in this day and age this does not seem to me to be an acceptable way to run a business. Also, the fact that I was emailed a letter with a form for my credit card information makes me question this companys PCI compliance regarding payment processing.

Worst experience I have had with a so-called professional company. We will not have our pod delivered until August 3rd and we are ready to move in to our new home. We called to schedule this in line with our closing weeks ago and were told no sooner than August 3rd. I have no idea what my baby, wife and I will do as we have none of our personal belongings available to us.Order # 6088052

Deceptive Pricing! Buried in fine print and not strongly emphasized by the sales rep, nor highlighted up front, is language saying if diesel prices are more than $1.75 / gal at time of move, they will charge a fuel subsidy.Think about it, when is the last time you remember diesel prices at or below $1.75 gal? 17 years ago? So they know they will automatically be charging you more to help pay for fuel! Outrageously deceptive.They charged around $500 more upon picking up the container after we packed it, and I have seen other reviewers saying the same thing.Poorly Maintained Containers. The first container they delivered was torn up and was what I believe is the 1st generation design with with the opaque plastic roof and sketchy roll up door.They did see that somehow in their system, that they had delivered a damaged container and called right away, and said their driver had delivered a known damaged container. So we had to unload a bunch of heavy stuff we had just loaded.Why isnt this controlled and managed at their yard or warehouse? Is there not a clearly marked stack of containers that are not to be delivered empty to customers, because the containers are damaged?They quickly brought a newer model with the steel roof and Barn Doors. But that too was missing sheet metal screws, had flappy loose siding, taped dings and had visible gaps that you can see daylight through.Perhaps consider changing the company name to RSI? (Ratty Shippers Inc.)There are some positive things I could say, but those are so-far outweighed by the negatives.This review will be further updated when entire move is completed.

We had a wonderful start to our experience with this company. The ordering process and delivery process were easy and everyone was very friendly. Our problems began when was there was a mix up with our pick up date/time. Long story short, our containers sat in 100 degree temps outside for a day and a half melting in the sun before being picked up. No one would answer our calls or let us know what was happening. When they were delivered, there were a lot of damaged items from shifting during transport, despite using professional movers to load and unload in both locations. They sold us on the insurance, but it’s useless because we sent them the photos and purchase information for just two pieces of clearly damaged furniture and we never heard from them. I’ve emailed repeatedly and called. No one claims they can help. This is the sorriest excuse for customer service I have ever encountered! It will cost us thousands to replace what was damaged. Save your money and use a professional company from start to finish. It’s more up front yet far less hassle and expense in the end.

We used Pack Rat for our move to Charlotte NC and the experience was very good and customer service was right on. We had to make several changes in scheduling and it was never a problem. They also moved our container full of furniture to Charlotte with no damage. We basically just stacked it all in the unit and it was delivered 10 days later in Charlotte and all was just like when we locked it up. They were also the least expensive!

First off, the unit is a piece of junk. Dents and taped up holes everywhere, floor sinks when you walk on it. The driver begged for my card info but I wouldnt give it to him. Kind of rude....when I questioned the unit, he said that it was the only one he had. The roof looked shabby anyway. Just my luck 3 months later, it leaks. Ruined my mirror. Someone came out with tape to fix it, but claimed he could not tell cause it wasnt raining but planned to return the next day but never heard from him again. If you ever use this company, watch them closely and prepare for a bumpy ride! Was charged for a moving fee..it never moved. No contacted me about my mirror.

This was a great experience from start to finish. They were able accommodate all of my changes, their pricing was the best and they actually made zero mistakes. Its not often Im impressed by service or customer service but this company knows what they are doing. The drivers were even impressive, it is obvious this company does their homework in their hiring process and is all over doing whatever it takes to please the customer. I dont ever want to move again but if I do I look forward to know Pack Rat will be there to make it easy.

From great pricing, great customer service and communication to a speedy delivery despite our late request, we could not be happier.

Dont bother calling the local number. Nobody ever answers the phone. And dont fill out for a quote on line. 10 different companys will call you. All I wanted was to know the size of a container and how much. Apparently thats to hard to ask these days.

Took a little bit of effort to get a callback. Had empty container on site and couldnt get it removed for 11 days. 11 DAYS. They said that was first available for removal. DID I MENTION 11 DAYS.

This was by far the worst experience that I have encountered in the history of customer service. First of all, after being told that to expect a trailer between the hours of four and six the trailer never showed up nor did I hear anything from the company. Secondly, I was told that I was going to have a moving coordinator and I never heard from him/her. I am supposed to relocate to Nevada very soon and the fact that the trailer is not here we cannot move any of our belongings. Finally, people who were supposed to be assisting us with our move was contingent upon an on time arrival. To top it all off, I have been on hold for a total of an hour with the usual useless rhetoric saying that your call is very important to us. Needless to say I do not recommend this company to anyone, unless you enjoy being unequivocally annoyed and pacified by useless customer service.

Moved from Annapolis MD to Charlotte NC. Moving is a stress but 1-800-PACK-RAT made the loading and unloading seamless. Container arrived and was placed correctly on time. Once I got settled in the new house, same experiance. Drivers were proffesional and courteous. Customer service kept me up to date throughout the move. Price was actually better than anticipated but was not the reason I chose them. They delivered on all aspects of what was promised. Will use them again.

The moving experience can be expensive and frustrating. With packrat they simplify things to make it simple and easy. A long distance move is made without my stress and frustration. I had to move quickly from Florida to Carolina. They made it easy where I could pack as I needed two and readjust things to fit all of my belongings. They came and picked it up has stored it until I was able to find a place to live. Other companies would have cost thousands of dollars but packrat is a fraction of that. Their customer service service is friendly and courteous. Each individual that I had to deal with was knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoyed the experience and recommend them to all my friends and family and anyone who ask.

I wish that I could rate them a zero! I have been at the storage facility for almost 3 hours waiting on my container to arrive. Mind you that it was suppose to be out at 8:00am. Called the 1-800 Number several times only to be told that the facility is closed and the driver forgot to put it out yesterday even after calling me back to confirm that it would be out at 8:00am and having me to sign a waiver! I have rented a uhaul and helpers to help me to clean it out and I’m still waiting. They told me the driver would be here in 45 mins and it’s been over an hour and a half and I’m still waiting! Not to mention each time that I call back I put on hold for over 15 mins! Now I’m being told they can’t reach the driver or facility manager by phone only via email and they don’t have an eta! Never EVER rent from these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We cannot get our pod delivered in the next three weeks. The paperwork says 5-7 days notice. Ha that is a joke. Called three times today-average on hold time -14 minutes. I asked for a manager to call me back-crickets.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I have been trying for THREE days to contact them in reference to moving my furniture! I am currently on hold and have been for 20min now!!! This absolutely ridiculous! I guarentee it wont take them 20min to take the $500 deposit out of my account!!!

Got a quote and had a delivery scheduled for Saturday, drive never showed up or called. Called back Monday when the office was open and they said my order was cancelled even though I got a call Friday to confirm the delivery for Saturday. Worst customer service I have ever seen.

Late by 3 days moving it from my former house now I just called to have delivered and it still is in Charleston which it should be in Charlotte now I’m trying to get it delivered to rock Hill South Carolina and they said it will be at least 14 days before it came here to my new residence so ridiculous last time I use this company
