As other reviewers have noted here: Buyer Beware. G&G Landscape appears professional at first, sending out the “landscape architect” Michael Dunning to tell you what a great solution they have for your yard. Unfortunately, in my opinion, once the contract is signed the service ends. As another review also stated, I had to follow up multiple times to get on the schedule or have someone come out to look at the uneven grading. The guys doing the work don’t follow the direction given by the PM and I ended up with a half completed job, and low lying areas where water pools in the same exact spots I hired them to fix. Worse, they graded the land so poorly they actually created further damage by eroding the area where an old pool is under ground, now leaving the edges exposed that were supposed to be well covered over with the top soil I was paying for. Hopefully these guys are not scammers - but if they are not, that means they simply do not know how to do their job and evenly slope and grade a yard. The landscape architect and PM never came back out to see the final “product”. But if you refuse to pay until they come see it and finish it, they’ll go dark for 3 months and then take you to court with their team of lawyers (mine was not the only small claims suit filed by this company in July 2021 alone). If you want to risk being left with land graded so poorly water pools and grass won’t grow, call G&G. If not, save yourself the hassle and find a business that cares about its work, reputation and integrity. This place is a joke - the only thing funnier is that they had to spend half of my payment to them on legal fees.

I hired G and G to install a berm and irrigation in a private residence Spring 2021. They were not the cheapest quote I received but I was hoping they would be more knowledgeable and professional.Pros: enjoyed working with both the landscape and irrigation project managers. Very professional, likable, and responsive.Cons: the company is dysfunctional, and when things go awry, they tend to all throw each other under the boss. One will tell me to order plants as the project was about to commence and another would then say it’s going to be a month or so*. They disagreed which order the project should be done in. Hardest part of all is the sales associate came up with a terrible plant design. Only two plants, one I had already told him I couldn’t use and the other a shade plant for a sunny part of my yard. Months later I’m having invoice issues and have yet to pay my balance. I have sent emails and left phone messages, but no one has fixed the invoice so that I can pay the balance. They have several nice people working for them, but are not, needless to say, a well run organization as I had hoped.*the landscape manger worked hard to get the berm done when originally promised(Pikes in Cornelius was fantastic in saving the day and coming up with a beautiful design for free- thank you Angie and the owner- love you guys!)

I am the owner of a property which was partly under construction when we moved in, what remained was largely exterior and garages.G&G was contracted to install an irrigation system and lay turf throughout the property. The turf was, quite literally, thrown on the ground with no topsoil application (neighbors reliably corroborated this), no rollering (to even out the holes/general unevenness) or any attention to detail. It is still a disaster and will have to be completely redone by the builder….who is very co-operative, and seemingly dismayed by G&G also. The retroactive installation of an irrigation system was and is catastrophic. The crew handling it didn’t speak a word of English, used shoddy parts which have already started to break, and left an almighty shambles behind them. Piping was left completely exposed, sprinkler heads were placed up against fences, and there was no attention to detail….it was as if they couldn’t wait to dump the system in place and leave. Once again remedial work has to be carried out to make it mildly effective. If there a zero stars rating I would give it. I can only hope that this sort of shoddy workmanship is not representative of the Charlotte marketplace.

Workers were great! However, the communication with management couldve been better. Also, the green giants (that we spent $3000+) they picked out are pretty much dead now - we had landscaping done 3 months ago.

Ok, use G&G at your own risk. First their team is very professional and I believe has good intentions, the problem is that they make promises with their higher pricing that they appear incapable of being able to keep. They appear to have a serious problem in managing their business especially in the maintenance area. I brought in a number of homes to their businss and and everyone has had to fire them for performane. I was the last as I gave them an extra year as they agreed they had made errors, but the just needed a chance to make it right. While things got better, a large part was due to my focus on their work and pointing out our problems areas when there should have been no issues especially since they were focused on getting on track. We were not being picky clients, this was gross errors in not pruning when they were paid to prune or missing chemical treatments that we discovered because weeds showed in the yard in mass. What finally caused me to fire them, after being asked repeatadley to give them more time on the specific items they agreed were wrong, I had some items needing attention and called to review with person that promised everything was going to be better. I asked for him to come review some of the open items we had agreed on, things quickly became clear as they delivered a 3.3 X increase in price as the season was about to start. It was simply a strategy to keep us engaged thru the slower season and raise the price without warning (yes, while not performing thru that period) leaving us no options potentially but to pay. Now think about this, as its important to understand the ethics of a business, they agree they are not performing for over a year, they constantly ask for more time and they will do better if we work with them, they never indicate a problem with the scope or price, they then show up and tell you it will be over 3 times the cost at the start of the new season. Lucky for me I had engaged additional suppliers long before as a backup in case they did not correct their performance issues, if I had not I would have been in trouble. Its was easy enough to get updated quotes which were up about 10% for exact same scope, which I thought was right based on increasing costs over the past year. I asked for a meeting with the owner, and once it was clear he had no intention to call me back. I sent an email which I asked for his team to share, and wanted to discuss and be credited due to performance issues. I got a polite and simple response that he respectfully disagreed with my perspective. With all the confirmed errors by his team, and my highlighting that his team proposed over a 3x increase when I had a new quote for only 10% increase for the same scope, you would think he might want to discuss with the client. Well you know the answer. To provide context we were paying over $400 every month (not the highest, but certainly not low) for maintenance and I have included a couple of photos to provide context of how bad the quality got because of lack of action by G&G, but plenty of promises. Businesses make mistakes as no one is perfect, but being dishonest and misleading your clients over a long period of time, and at the top of the business to refuse to talk to your clients to understand why they are concerned is simply unforgivebable. I gave the owner every opportunity to discuss so I am starting with the obvious action to share what you can experience if you choose G&G. This is a tough but fair review because I could have written far more detail which would have made it far worse, unfortunately it is necessary because of the unethical approach by G&G.

Finally a landscape company that not only shows up but does an amazing job! G & G guys are courteous, professional and take pride in their work. I receive follow up calls and they make sure my wife is pleased with their work. This past spring we did a complete front yard makeover and it was great. Also a new irrigation pump was installed and I couldnt be happier. The supervisors and their teams get it done and do it professionally.

They did a really great job with my landscaping lighting project. It adds a great look to our home in the evening. I would use them again. I would like to revisit the lighting at the street tree. I think it’s doable.

We have never given a bad review to any company but this company deserves it. We signed a contract with G&G Landscape and Irrigation, paid them, and that’s when the problems began. The wrong plant materials were delivered and planted. When planting the bushes and trees, soil enhancer was not used until we demanded it. Several of the grasses they planted were dead, and they never came out to replace them. The tree they planted was of such poor quality that it struggled all summer long with promises from the company to come out and look at it. No one ever came out. After repeated text messages, emails and phone calls we gave up and replaced the plants ourselves at our expense. G&G Landscape and Irrigation is an extremely unprofessional company that does a terrible job, and will not back up their work or their plant materials.

The people at the company were very pleasant and the work was performed on time. However, the work crew did not have the details of what was to be done, so I had to go over everything again once the work was started. There was a lot to go over and some parts were overlooked. Two of the trees were a foot or two smaller than they were supposed to be.

The estimate specified pea gravel for the path. They put down drainage rocks, some as large as huge potatoes, some flat and long, some sharp on all sides, and most generally the size of a golf ball. Extremely difficult to walk on and and unattractive. Explanation: its a type of pea gravel, and pea gravel would wash away. So why did they specify it? The rock is a type of pea gravel like a turkey is a kind of sparrow.
