My son has been attending Sylvan to relearn some lost skills in vocabulary, spelling and writing. He has been out of high school for a few years and wants to attend our community college. They have done a great job! My son enjoys working with his teacher Josh and feels like he is learning a lot. The staff have been very easy to work with and are flexible in things they can do to help my son. This place is not just for school age children but is also great for adults that need to relearn skills and get academic support for post secondary education. We look forward to Sylvan being an ongoing support for my son as he progresses with college classes. They even worked with him to help prepare him for his drivers permit test and he passed the test this week!! Great Job!!

I have a grandson that goes to sylvan in Matthews NC. Chase has always struggled with reading and math. They have worked with chase for a year and a half. He has improved so much. They also go to meetings with me at chases school. It is great having someone that understands ADHD. It has been the best thing for chase. He is getting more confident everyday.

Sylvan is the best work experience I have been able to have the opportunity to be apart of. The teachers are experienced, welcoming, and friendly. The lead teachers all strive to push their students to find their potential and gain confidence in learning!

I HIGHLY recommend this Sylvan Learning location to any family looking for tutoring or assistance for their child!!!! Both directors, Wendy and Kyriakos, have been absolutely AMAZING. I have been kept up to date with every part of my sons learning and the communication has been wonderful. We drive 45 mins each way from Concord just to come to this location and it is SO worth it!My 7 year old son Mason is about half way through his tutoring program for reading and he has already made phenomenal progress with things so far. I couldnt be happier with the difference I am seeing in his overall confidence and his abilities with learning his reading skills. The best part is that HE loves coming to Sylvan so much. He gets so excited when it is time to go to tutoring.I have learned so much as well from them when it came to navigating things with the school system in regards to my son having a reading disability and needing assistance/intervention.All of the staff at this location are wonderful, professional, and easy to talk to. My son loves his tutors and we honestly will be so sad when the time comes to leave. Im glad we still have more time left for now! We love Sylvan Learning - Matthews!!!!!!!

I have really enjoyed having my daughter go to Sylvan. The staff has done a lot to improve her confidence with understanding math and reading, and they really seem to care about improving her skills. The staff also has been nice enough to offer to come to her school conferences, which has been a big help! We would definitely recommend this center to other parents.

The tutors who have worked with my daughter have been so patient, especially when we transitioned to online tutoring for a period. They have helped boost her confidence in math.

I brought both of my sons to Sylvan to work on their reading and writing skills. And with in just a couple months my youngest son was on the honor rolls with all A’s. My granddaughter attends both the Monroe and Matthews sites. She loves both sites. She has become much more proficient in math; this has been validated by her junior high math teacher as well. Not only is she learning a lot, she has become much more confident in her abilities.

I was skeptical when I first checked in to getting help for my 3rd grade son. For our family the time and financial commitment was a big deal. By far, this is the best money I have ever spent on my son. Sylvan has helped him so much. My son started this journey severely struggling in reading and math. He hated school and complained every time he had to come to tutoring. Fast forward 10 months - my son now has maintained an ‘A’ in in ELA since the beginning of this school year and his math grade has improved as well. He now asks if he can read to me as we are riding in the car. (This is a complete 180 for him). He no longer complains about coming to tutoring, thanks to the dedicated and persistence of the team at this Sylvan. This place is amazing, it was a wonderful moved I made. My child has been here for less than two months, and I have seen a big difference in her approaches of reading and sounding words. The staffs here understands the need of my child, and aims specifically toward her needs. I will highly recommend this place to anyone, friends and family.

Sylvan has helped our family extremely Wendy has took time to look over our daughter IEP and explain them to us in detail offered advice in so improvements for the long run. This was our family’s first experience with Sylvan Learning. Although we’ve seen many advertisements, we never moved forward to enroll our son. One day we took a chance. From day one, this experience has been remarkable for our entire family. The initial structured meetings, regular progress reports and teacher intervention meetings went well above our expectations. Mr. Kyriakos Peter Vontas…aka Mr. K has been amazing!! After working with him, our son has gained a confidence never seen before. He loves attending sessions and is motivated by Mr. K and his tutoring staff’s expectations. The stress levels we’ve experienced in the past with quarterly marking periods and End of Year testing were almost eliminated. We would certainly recommend this program to anyone we know of. My son attended Sylvan for 9 months and I would highly recommend them. He was in the 2nd grade and was reading on a Kindergarten level. At the end of the 9 months he was going into the 3rd grade reading at an end of year 2nd grader level. That was amazing to advance so much in such a short amount of time. But that is not the only reason I am giving them a 5 star rating. It was months after my son completed their program that they were continuing to attend my sons school meetings on his behalf to ensure the school was doing everything they could to assist my son. That really impressed me. I would highly recommend them!

Sylvan Matthews has been a true blessing to our family. The teachers are amazing and have built our childrens confidence in reading and writing in just a few weeks. We love how each student has their own individual curriculum and works at there own pace. Our kids look forward to going and working on material they used to think was too hard. The Directors are very knowledgeable of each student and work in tandem with the teachers to help improve the kids curriculum to best suit them. Our daughter has been with Sylvan for reading for about a half of a year. She never gets upset about going and her confidence has grown so much. As a partner they have made learning not only fun for our daughter but more importantly rewarding. The team at Sylvan is always available and extremely flexible. This Sylvan Learning Center is amazing. My son Anthony was massively behind in his reading skills until we started to attend this Sylvan almost two years ago. Sylvan staff worked with him until he was at grade level standard. He is now performing the best he has academically. They are focused on individual learning and progress. Anthony truly enjoys going here.

Words can’t express how wonderful the Sylvan staff are! Their encouragement and guidance have filled the gaps that teachers don’t always have time for. Their small detailed tutoring sessions helped my child reach outside of his comfort zone. A’s and B’s look great on his report card!!

Sylvan has had a tremendous impact on learning for our granddaughter Zevah. Zevah had numerous learning challenges since kindergarten and with Sylvans expert teachers she has achieve so much and is currently in the second grade. Even with the struggle in school and attending Sylvan twice a week Zevah never once complained of attending the program. She not only enjoyed the teachers but she loved to save her points to buy items from the Sylvan store. I cannot say enough about the Sylvan teachers at the Piedmont College but my heartfelt gratitude goes out to each of you when I listen to my granddaughter read with confidence and a smile. As a teacher I have seen students make great progress. Students are taught in small groups and are able to receive the help they need. Young students enjoy the learning games that reinforce what they are learning. Older students are able to work on gaps in their learning.

Everyone has been great. We decided to put our daughter into the program because of her lack of interest in school and her hard time with math. In just 2 short weeks she loves going to Sylvan and looks forward to learning. I believe she is on the track to fulfilling her potential and enjoying school. We have just completed a program with Sylvan and we are pleased with our daughters progress. Our middle school daughter was having trouble with math and was behind due to her inadequate elementary school program. Spending time at Sylvan has gotten her turning in her work on time and has given her better homework habits that are translating into the grades we knew she was capable of.

My sons experience at Sylvan has been excellent. He scored a 1 on his EOG pretest. With Sylvans tools and guidance he achieved a 4 out of 5, final score. The teachers are thoughtful and caring and only want your child to achieve the best. I highly recommend this Sylvan location to any family.

My niece has been attending Sylvan Learning Center in Matthews since the beginning of this school year. They have focused on her reading comprehension skills and her math. She started out on a level below 2nd grade and has progressed to 3rd grade level where she should be. She is always eager to come to Sylvan because of the reward method they use. My daughter, who is in the 3rd grade, started with Sylvan about 6 weeks ago. Her confidence level was extremely low, not only in school work but socially as well. She seems to be back to acting like herself and even tells me that she feels like extra tutoring at Sylvan is helping her! A little too early to tell with grades so much, but I am so pleased at all the support they are giving her as well as myself.

My daughter has been attending Sylvan Learning Satellite location since August 2018; she started far below her grade level but by the end of the school year shed started reading at her current grade level thanks to Wendy Schuster and Kyriakos Vontas!

We enrolled our son for added support in reading and have seen a huge boost in condfidence. His reading is improving as expected but the confidence and pride we see was unexpected. He likes the center and the reward system and has learned to save his tokens for what he wants most. Reading, confidence and budgeting lessons. Now that is a great program for kids. Sylvan is a very fun and positive learning environment. All of the instructors are very fun and motivating, they make sure that you are on task and always help you when you need it. I enjoy coming to Sylvan and getting the help when I need it.

I go here right now and its great I went from a 36 on a math test and having a 55 in Math to a 86 on the math unit test and a 71 overall grade. Sylvan is great.

I attend to slyvan learning center and Im in 9th grade I love its improving me so much in math.

Sylvan is very effective at determining each persons academic weakness and strengthening those weakness. Even if you are not behind academically, Sylvan will take you to the next level.
