They did a lovely job encapsulating a crawl space and installing a dehumidifier at one of my rental properties. The front office provided status / progress updates throughout the duration of the project.

Weve been using ESS for four years. They take care of the dehumidification of our crawlspace. They stand behind their work and equipment (did so in 2017 when dehumidifier went down), and dont try to up sell. The same people, such as Brenda, Cody, Zack seem to be there every year for annual inspection and genuine/helpful. Recently dehumidifier tripped the breaker and they helped me trouble shoot to fix and double checked things.

Cody was very honest and did a great job. He let me know they forgot to fix the vents and I would reccomend this company to anyone. Hes the kind of person you want working for a company.

My experience with ESS was wonderful. They inspected my crawl space in September 2017 and provided an extensive, 12-page report detailing the deficiencies found. The report included color photos and offered several solutions to correct the moisture problems I was having. However, I was unable to have the work performed at that time due to other obligations.Over a year later I was ready to move and contacted them. After a quick re-inspection, they honored the price from 2017 and scheduled the work. The crew encountered quite a number of obstacles, including rats, snakes and even bats, but battled through and got everything finished on schedule. My project coordinator, Cara Calhoun, kept me fully informed during the entire process. I’ve been in the construction industry for over 30 years and rarely have I seen anyone who possesses such a high level of communication skills and professionalism. She is to be commended.I highly recommend ESS for your crawl space solutions!

Employees are courteous and professional. However, their work product is marginal at best. The encapsulation that was done on my crawl space did not meet SC Building Code. This was discovered by an engineering firm hired by me while doing an inspection of another issue. While at the site they acknowledged that it did not meet code but they bid the job without allowing for a membrane sealing. My question is how do you provide a proposal that you know does not apply to the 2015 SC Building Code. The engineer also found that the foundation was not encapsulated. The crawl space air vents were not enclosed. This means that for about one year the foundation was not encapsulated and I will dehumidifying an unenclosed area. ESS returned to correct the air vent issue and then billed me for an annual inspection which wasnt due until May 2019. ESS said that they would extend my warranty for one year. After several phone calls and emails they informed me that one of the emails would serve as the warranty extension. The email had no information as to dates, etc. ESS is big on promises and short on delivery. I would not recommend ESS.

My crawlspace was a mess from the flood in October. I had ESS come in and clean out the space and put a new liner in there. I got three quotes and ESS was actually the cheapest. Aaron and Matt really cared about their work. I asked a ton of questions and they answered them patiently and expertly. The final result was amazing. A very thick liner that will be hard to puncture, completely sealed with thick tape. White too, so it actually looks great! And the crawlspace humidity went from 86% to 62% (one week later and still dropping). My hardwood floors (which were starting to cup from the humidity) are settling back down. The entire house smells so much better. Its a pleasure to work with a company that cares so much about doing good work.

ESS gave a fair and thorough estimate after Brannon inspected the property. We delayed having the work completed nearly a year due to a major renovation that took much longer than anticipated. ESS honored the original estimate, gave us options for how to complete the project, and on short notice put a dehumidifier in early due to high humidity levels near the end of summer. The project was then completed as scheduled by very respectful workers who kept us informed along the way and made sure the property was cleaned up after the work. I have never written a testimonial for a contractor before but there is a first time for everything. My home was newly constructed in 2013 and adhered to the latest building codes which included placing 6 mil plastic sheeting over the exposed dirt in the crawl space, by the summer of 2014 we were noticing that the hardwood floors were showing signs of cupping and that there was a musty smell coming from the crawlspace. After consulting with a structural engineer and researching the various companies and options available I contracted Environmental Solutions and Services (ESS) to encapsulate and and install a dehumidifier in the crawlspace of our home. I couldnt be more pleased with the outcome; we have lower humidity in the crawlspace and living areas the cupping of the floors has stopped and the floors have settled and the musty odor is gone.The combination of quality, service, price and friendliness of the ESS staff exceeded my expectations. All work was conducted exactly as described during the inspection process, and best of all there were no surprises in the end with respect to the work performed or the price.

My crawlspace had a very poor vapor barrier that was replaced by ESS with a 15 mil vapor barrier that is extremely durable. Not only does my crawlspace look very clean, it controls the humidity level throughout my house allowing me to increase the temperature on my thermostat without feeling uncomfortable.

ESS has been an outstanding business being very attentive to any question/concern I have had. When I purchased the home, ESS had already performed the encapsulation of the crawlspace. It was very easy to take over the account to continue to have maintenance when needed. Any time (not often) my monitor was suggesting the humidity in the crawlspace was off, they would be here seemly like the next day. They monitored the dehumidifier under the home. They even have an agreement with the pest control company I use so that there are no problems with treating for termites with the encapsulation. I couldnt be more pleased with the response I get from ESS. They make you feel like you are one of their only clients. I know from talking with others, we are one of many clients they have. If you want a neat and tidy crawlspace that monitors the airflow under your home, you cant go wrong with ESS.
