Master shin has had a great influence on my son- as a 5 year old toddler full of energy he has found an outlet for his energy! He takes pride in being able to graduate to his next belt level, Master Shin’s classes have provided structure for him and it has been nothing but a positive influence on my son.

We cant say enough good things about Master Shins Power Taekwondo! Master Shin truly cares about each student and want each of them to reach their full potential. Our son and daughter are on the shy side but have really come out of their shells and love to go to taekwondo and see Master Shin! The new location is spacious and we love it!

Master Shin is truly a great coach and our children are very lucky to have him as a mentor. His patience, respectfulness, and attention to detail encourages the same in the children. He expects the kids to do their best, which in turn proves to the kids that is all they need to accomplish their goals. The new location is wonderful and we highly recommend MSPTC!

Our three boys attend Master’s Shin Tae kwon do Class since a couple of hrs ago. I love the environment. We homeschool since 2016, and one of my concerns was respect to different authorities. I feel they are taught respect and hard work in this institution. Master Shin is very communicative with the parents and keeps us posted with any news or updates. My kids are very happy to attend their class.

My 6 year attended here for two years. Very reasonable and affordable. However, place is extremely tiny. Way to many kids on the floor at once. Secondly, he waste about 25 mins of the 45 mins practice checking their uniforms/belts. Thirdly, he is way to hard on those kids. Yes discipline is needed. But Yelling and screaming over and over at one child is way to severe. My son was absolutely horrified. We finished our contract and did not resign.

First of all there are lot of kids in one session and there is no equal attention for all the kids and the sparring kit is limited so the remaining kids will just sit and watch. He wastes a lot of time checking uniform and belt. The actual class would be only 5 min and almost all the time Will be spent warming up. He makes sure that the class is good when new people come in for trial class. I am totally disappointed with this school and my son didn’t learn anything and he is money minded as well. I looked at the reviews before going there and I have no clue how there are lot of good reviews and I had a totally different experience. Trust me and find a better place.

My son started at Master Shin’s Power Taekwondo Center about a year ago. Being an only child, I was looking for something to make him more self-confident and get him out of his shell. I am content in seeing how the program has allowed him to feel more secure in himself. I love that Master Shin teaches the children discipline, but also demonstrates to them that he disciplines because he loves them. Master Shin has shown that not only is he concerned that the children do well in Taekwondo, but that they become good people. I love that he makes it a point to make the children aware that mistakes are okay as long as you try and don’t give up. I think enrolling your children in this program is so beneficial in so many different aspects. They are taught very fundamental lessons that they will carry on for life. I am very thankful to Master Shin and Mrs. Shin for everything they do, day in and day out. I highly recommend Master Shin’s Power Taekwondo Center!

My daughter was shy and quiet and we doubted that she could adopt herself to Taekwondo easily when she took it as after school program. Master Shin is really experienced with dealing with the kids and teaching the class. It turned out my daughter got used to, even love Teakwondo and the class very soon. To tell the truth, even we parents feel the class is funny and alive when standing by to pick up kids. Thank you Master Shin and Mrs. Shin.

Master Shin has a passion for teaching the art of Taekwondo and it really shows through. I can feel his love of kids and feel he is an AWESOME instructor. Anyone who decides to put their child through his program should feel confident that their child will exude more confidence and better technique. The great thing about this program is that it is not just about great technique (which they will undoubtedly have!), its about a lifestyle of being good to your family, respecting others, trying new things, and a can-do attitude. This center is a great partner in raising well rounded children. Love it!!

They love the friendships and everyone seems to be caring and happy.Master Shin has helped teach my boys how to be respectful, disciplined, and responsible. I feel, Master Shin teaches my boys the true art and culture of taekwondo. I also believe, Master Shin does not hand out belts for class sign up. He knows when the students are ready for the next stage.Master Shins summer camps are great and he is always thinking of new ways to entertain the children. My wife and I are grateful for what Master Shin, Mr. Joe, and Mrs. Shin do for our boys.

My son loves going to Master Shins classes and has made many great friends. Master Shin is fantastic with children while reinforcing discipline and respect for others. His wife is also wonderful with the children and works with the after-school program. The school has a home feel to it which I love. I feel very comfortable leaving my son in their care. In addition to the weekly classes, Master Shin offers other fun events such as Parents Night Out, Movie Night and even a Sleep Over. Im looking forward to enrolling my son in his weekly summer camp program as well. It looks really fun.

Where do I begin to explain Master Shin’s Power Taekwondo Center. Quality does not depend on how big a Taekwondo school is. This small school has a lot more to offer than any big named TaeKwondo centers. Master Shin (owner/operator/instructor/mentor) is one of the most remarkable people I’ve met. I’ve never seen a Taekwondo instructor that is so immersed and passionate in his school and his students. Master Shin knows every student by name and he distinguishes each student by their abilities and skills. This school does not only teach Taekwondo but also incorporates core beliefs that revolve around discipline, confidence, respect, and humility. My daughter has been taking classes with Master Shin and she absolutely enjoys the environment that is filled with caring and love. My wife and I are very thankful that Master Shin introduced the beautiful culture of TaeKwondo in our daughters’ life.

If you are looking for afterschool care or just taekwondo lessons, absolutely look no further than Master Shins Power Taekwondo Center! He truly cares for every child that participates in his programs and your child gets lessons from a true professional (rather than another young student). My twins have been attending his after school program from a young age and truly love all of the staff and friendships they have made there! All the kids, including the older ones, are so welcoming and really look after and care for the younger kids in the group. We cant say enough good things about this center, its programs and the values it instills in our kids!

This is one of the most difficult, but honest reviews that I have ever written. It has taken me days of contemplation on how to accurately describe our experience. Understanding this is their family business, it makes it even more difficult to be forthcoming. I urge you to go to Yelp and see reviews from others.I will start with what I admired and what drew me here in the first place. Mr. Shin runs a tight ship and sticks heavily to a regime of discipline that I believe to be very positive, especially with older students. Its also affordable. Mr. & Mrs. Shin are also thoughtful when it comes to illnesses and surgeries; etc. I found it very sweet when they sent my son a card when he had surgery that contained notes from other students wishing him well. That warmed my heart, but also allowed me to tolerate behaviors that I shouldnt have.My son attended their after school program. Mrs. Shin would pick my son up from school transport him safely to the dojo. Most of the time my child was there, I was at work and was not witness to how classes were conducted. I popped in early a few times to watch my 5 yo participate in class, and was disturbed by how he communicated with the younger students - students that I dont even know; and yet my heart felt for them as I saw their sad faces as they were belittled and ridiculed for not following Mr. Shins precise dismissal procedure. The dismissal procedure consists of a bow, a handshake, and a hug, in a particular order with precise verbiage that must be recited before they can leave the dojo floor. The students are also forced to say I love you before leaving, which I felt was very odd; but I am unfamiliar with Mr. Shins culture, and assumed this was a cultural norm. The younger children would often times struggle to remember the exact dismissal procedure and be ridiculed (not simply corrected) on the spot, as other students waited behind in line observing the condescending nature of the situation. I do try to mind my own business, and therefore kept to myself about how I didnt agree with Mr. Shins corrective procedures. My son is a long haired boy. He has long curls for which he is proud of and loves. I have offered him a haircut several times, but he politely declines, stating that he loves his hair and never wants to cut it.Without speaking to me, Mr. Shin kept telling my son that he needed to cut his hair. Saying it was long like a girl and that he needed to cut it or he wont be able to participate in class. This was never brought to my attention. My son came home in tears one day begging me to cut his hair off because he was being bullied by Mr. Shin, so I reached out to him to explain my concerns and learn why Logan must cut his hair to participate in his classes.Mr. Shin IMMEDIATELY responded on the defense and offered to terminate our contract without penalty if we did not agree to his terms. His reasoning for pressuring my and scaring my 5 year old into cutting his hair was because it was getting into his face during class which was a distraction to himself and others. Okay, now I understand. But why was that not communicated to me? I am not the type to quit or leave on bad terms, so I offered a resolution of having my son pull his hair back into a man bun during class. I do not agree with how he treated my son, but we agreed to move forward. Several weeks later, my son no longer wants to go to school because he is afraid of going to Mr. Shins afterschool; that Mr. Shin is mean to him. He would cry for hours each day. It was finally time to call it. I brought my concerns to Mr. Shin again, and was forced to pay a hefty contract termination fee. I find that quite hypocritical as just weeks before, I was offered an out for the same reasons; but only because it was on his terms. Now, I was forced to pay to have my son move to a place where he is treated with kindness and respect. I trusted Mr. Shin, and he let us down. I hope that he can take something positive from this & conduct better business practices and treat his students and parents with more respect.

My son has only been going for about 2 months and he loves it. My younger son cant wait until he is old enough to go. The discipline, respect and care shown to and expected from the students set this school apart from others. It is family run so the sense of community is immediate. If you are interested in Taekwondo, make sure you stop by or give them a call.

My son has been a student at MSPTC for 4 years. Over that time, he has grown to truly love TKD. Master Shin teaches all classes and demands accountability and respect from his students. This may sound harsh (and sometimes it can be), but actually it is refreshing. Master Shins students learn to respect their master, themselves and one another. Master Shin promotes an atmosphere of family, where everyone (students and parents) provide help and support of each other without a second thought. If you are looking for a TKD program that encourages your child to develop their confidence, focus, and ambition, look at Master Shins Power Taekwondo Center first.

When we found ourselves in the position of finally needing after school care for our son, we happened upon Master Shins Power Taekwondo. The class sizes are small and so much better than a crowded daycare center or SACC.

My experience with Master Shins Power Taekwondo Center (MSPTC) has been nothing but positive since the first day I stepped foot in there with my son. Now, three years later, three of my children (ages 10, 8 and 7) attend MSPTCs after school program three days a week. As parents, my husband and I appreciate the fact that Master Shin expects the absolute best out of his students, both inside and outside of his center. Furthermore, belts are truly earned, rather than handed out just to please the children or parents. Master Shin teaches each class himself rather than delegating to others. His wife, Mrs. Shin, is present every day and ensures that the after school students are safe and sound. In addition to teaching the TKD schools, Master Shin also teaches life lessons, such as the importance of punctuality, respecting your elders, and honoring your commitments. There is a culture of strict discipline, but it is balanced by love and kindness. We plan on being a part of the MSPTC family for years to come.

I was a long time TKD guy. I had been out of it for about 20 years, then it came time for me to find a school for my son to join. As I searched for somewhere suitable for him, with my discerning eyes I quickly became disenchanted with the current crop of schools out there, all I seemed to find were schools whose students were obviously not equal in skill to the belts they were wearing, and schools who seemed to have not a clue about respect and discipline - essential foundation blocks for any good martial arts school. I was feeling very discouraged and not at all optimistic about my sons chances for learning TKD in the true spirit of martial arts, let alone real skills - then I walked into Master Shins school. Several things struck me about Master Shins class as I observed him in action: 1. The atmosphere was all about respect and discipline; 2. There were not underage black belts around (it was obvious that in this school belts were earned, not given), and 3. Master Shin taught the class himself (I have since noticed that he teaches ALL the classes himself). After this, my pessimism evaporated and I knew I had found the place for my son and I signed him up. We have been attending now for a few months, and my son is learning everything I had hoped he would and then some. Master Shin commands respect, but is also warm and encouraging. And, his teaching methods are very skilled - students learn techniques properly, with each move broken down, and there is also a strong focus on muscle memory - an important element to really being able to defend oneself. I am now very confident that should my son be fortunate to earn a black belt one day, he will be a TRUE black belt - something that has been largely lost these days. If you are looking for a school that is all about fun and getting belts as fast as possible, then this school is not for you. BUT, if like me you want your child to learn values like respect, humility and patience, and knowing that advancement is real and earned, then you cant go wrong with Master Shin. I highly recommended him.

I have learned from Master Shin since when I was young. He gave me a lot of things of Taekwondo, I learned all about good things; how to be responsible, confidence, respectful and more. I have changed a lot after I learn Taekwondo. Now I know how to be brave, and know self-control and defense. He told me never give up my goal, and finally I became a Taekwondo Instructor. I am so proud of myself, but I really thank you to Grand Master Shin. I love Power Taekwondo!

On top of all that has already been mentioned, Master Shins Taekwondo (TKD) holds value in integrity, respect and excellence, all the while having fun. It seems many TKD facilities have lost its core values, but Master Shin brings back good qualities of how things used to be.
