I’ve always struggled with math throughout high school and I rarely asked for help; that is why I got mediocre grades in math classes. Chang is quite simply put amazing. He truly gifted as a teacher and instructor. I have a 12-year-old who was struggling in math and English. I decided to look around and find extra help for him.I tried another local tutor which I will not name but they did not meet my expectations nor did they satisfy my son. Chang is a great math tutor. When I started college, I had to take a calculus class after having taken a 13-year break from school, and Chang helped me not only on successfully completing that class, but encouraged me along the way when it got frustrating. I had other math tutors offered by the college, but even though they were knowledgeable, I just didnt understand them as easily. Chang explains concepts very well. He breaks down problems and makes them easy to understand. He is very clear, patient, and encouraging. I highly recommend him.

Chang is my sons math tutor from 6th grade to present day 8th grade. Chang tutors my son on a weekly basis, twice a week for 1 hour a session. Since then he has caught him up to grade level and now we are working on going beyond that!Changs math teaching philosophy is very progressive with modern pedagogy research, where abstract concepts like math should be taught incorporating different areas of the brain such as incorporating movement and games into some sessions, and relating those lessons to real world topics that the student is interested in. In our case my son loves football, soccer, and aviation. Chang has found new ways to incorporate these as math problems in games at parks, or simply using the subject during library tutor sessions. This approach is very helpful for active kids, and it has helped tremendously with intrinsic motivation- he is having fun!
