Illini Recycling has provided us punctual and reliable trash pick-up here in Champaign for several years. The price for two totes (one trash, one recycling) is quite reasonable. Extra or bulky items are readily dealt with in one brief phone call and a small surcharge. I wish to particularly highlight the professionalism and warmth of Cindy, who is the person I believe consistently answers the phones. I also wish to thank the Illini Recycling drivers who, while clearly moving fast, were always able to wave to my kid if the truck passed by when she was awake. Your visits were - quite sincerely - the highlight of many locked-down Fridays during 2020.

Switched over to Illini Recycling from another service back in December 2018 and Ive been very happy with their service ever since. The pricing is right for the standard package that we receive: large tote with free one-container overflow and one recycling container. Whenever I have larger items to dispose of (such as furniture, bicycles, etc.) they will charge a very reasonable fee to haul it, as long as you give them advance notice (a week prior is good). The office staff is responsive and on top of things. They are truly a great local business!

I think the prices are the best in town. Had Republic before them and they were just horrible from customer service to prices. When I decided to call it quits with Republic, I looked at who the neighbors used and Id say at least half of our neighborhood uses Illini Recycling so I decided to try them. The prices are the same every month which is nice. (Republic would change prices month to month.) And I havent had any issues with their customer service. I usually send a Contact Us from their website when I have a question and they get back to me quickly with an answer.

TERRIBLE service and poor customer service. They don’t pick up your trash on time, lie about it when you call and rude. I’m a paying customer. Not asking for FREE service so guess what I did. Canceled and saved myself the headache, saved money and now a paying customer with ABC Sanitary. Thank me later.

There were occasions when trash would get picked up but the recycling truck wouldn’t run. I was late on a payment once. They cashed my check before trash day but failed to tell the driver to pick up at our house. I called about this and instead of being apologetic they were more argumentative. I doubt I’ll see a refund on the month they didn’t service my house but got paid.

Had a couple pieces of 2x3 plywood and drywall sitting next to the bins. They did not throw them in with the garbage. I called and they said it would have to be called in ahead of time and be a special pickup with an extra charge. Another representative of the company did call me to explain the pickup instructions and that I should just put it in the tote So I raised the rating.

Great service! Love the containers they provide. Recycle container is as big as the garbage container. And all at an extremely reasonablr price. You cant go wrong with this company!

We have used Illini recycling for 3 years. They have consistently and promptly picked up our trash and yard waste as needed. Whenever I have had to work anything out with the office it is always easy. I am really satisfied.

I have had Illini Recycling for the last year now, and the owner Cain and his team have been great every step along the way! Very willing to help, especially on those days where you just happen to forget to put the recycling out!

This companys customer service is HORRIBLE. I just started service with them and I just can not believe the treatment from the office manager. First off, before I even started services with this company I specifically asked if they would haul some items away, they said yes and it would cost additional $20. They also requested that I send pictures, I did. I sent them pictures and never got a call back. I called to see if they received the pictures. The Office Manager went to go check with the man who is responsible for that and he hadnt gotten them. Well, after he clicked on something the pics showed up and they said, that was fine. The lady stated that it was something wrong with the app so he was having a hard time getting the information. After I pulled all my junk to the curve and which I had already clarified with them that this was okay. Not even a third of my things were picked up. When I called to ask why, the lady stated they could only take a certain amount. I said, well why didnt anyone tell me that upfront and besides, I sent pics. She tells me that the pictures I sent didnt match what I had for them to come pick up. I stated to her that I sent pics of everything. She says they only received one pic. I said no I sent several pics because you told me the computer was acting up. instead of her agreeing that there apparently was a mishap with the pics and considering that their computer system was not registering the pics in the first place and I had to call in order for them to click on something for them to see it, she totally disregarded that arguing with me up and down telling me that I only sent one pic...Today, I call to ask why my garbage has not been picked up. She goes and asks the driver who says my garbage was not at the curb at 4:15 in the evening when I took my garabge out early in the morning before I even went to work. Again, RUDELY this same Office Manager says YOUR GARBAGE WAS NOT OUT THERE. I said did you see it? I asked for the owner again and he is not there. Whoever, this owner is needs to hire a new Office Manager or he will not have an customers considering there is competition in the small town. The prices are good, but the service sucks.

Cain and his crew are awesome to work with. On a recent project, I was worried a dumpster would not be able to be dropped where I needed it. Not only was his driver able to get it where I needed it, when it was full I had a fresh one dropped same day. I highly recommend using Illini Recycling for your garbage and recycling needs.

Where Do I start....Cindy the so called Manager is a Joke. She’s rude so it’s understandable for her employees to act the same. We have Illini Recycling and they do a great job. They furnish our garbage containers and recycling containers. We probably have more recycling than we have garbage . It is always picked up on Thursday. They come in two different trucks for the recycle and trash. I would highly recommend them

The lady that answers the phone is VERY rude on the phone. IF YOU GO WITH THIS SERVICE, take the garbage out the night before. Was advised to do so by 6 am. And they come before then.

During the 30+ years I have lived at my present residence, prior to acquiring Illini Recycling for my service I had 3-4 other companies and none came close to the superior service I receive from Illini Recycling.
