Joel Ward Homes did a amazing job doing renovation to the home before we moved in. John who helped pick out the place is very professional and also polite. If anyone needs to look for a place I would recommend them and talk to John!!! Staff overall is super nice!!

I have been renting from Joel and Mary Beth from Ward Homes for almost two years and I just resigned for a further two. They, along with their staff, are always available and responsive to any concerns I have had. The quality of living for the price is better than anything else I have experienced. When the time comes for me to buy a house of my own, Joel and Mary Beth will be the first call I make. They are, hands down, the best property management group I have ever experienced. They are a pinnacle example of quality, professionalism, and care for their clients.

Nick was very helpful in providing suitable options and guiding us through the process. As a first time home owner he made sure we found what we were looking for, was very open to feedback and provided a lot of great advice. I am very satisfied with my new home and their service.

We have been renting from Joel for over 7 years now, and it has been a great experience! The house was in great shape when we moved in. Joel Ward Homes always has routine maintenance done so that everything stays ship-shape. They always send a chimney-sweep out in the fall so that we can safely use the fireplace. Every fall and spring, someone comes to service the furnace and AC. One year, the service guys told us that there was a problem detected with the furnace and it wasnt safe to use. Right away, Joel had a new furnace put in and it turned out to be a high efficiency one that lowered our heating bills. Any time that weve ever needed to call with a problem, it has gotten fixed immediately! This has been so wonderful to have that peace of mind. Joel has always been very gracious and made time for us even though he has so many tenants and weve rented one of his cheaper houses. It is nice to rent from a family business with a personal touch. Everyone there is very helpful and they make a huge effort to be flexible and to respect their tenants time and privacy. I cant recommend Joel Ward Homes highly enough!

Don’t rent anything from Joel wards unless you are looking for trouble. Your contract as a tenant is much more disadvantageous than in average. Prices are high. Don’t expect cost to be backed by service. Only if you are desperate.

I am from the Champaign-Urbana area and used Joel Ward Homes referral services when looking to buy a home in St. Louis last year. They referred me to Brenda Fisher, as local St. Louis realtor, who was a perfect fit for me and family. She helped us find a great home and was wonderful to work with. The referral process was very smooth and an easy way to find a realtor who I trusted.

While I really enjoyed the property and neighborhood where I rented, I was unimpressed with the communication of the Joel Ward staff. I had issues with repairs not getting done, the yard was not in decent conditions when I moved in, and there were a couple of occasions when I would call the office and not receive a return phone call.I put in $200 of my own money to improve the appearance of the yard and I was not reimbursed for this because I did not put it in writing per my lease. I suppose I can understand this, however, I still feel that it wasnt right. The work that I did not only cost me money, but my time. I feel that it would have been better business practice to reimburse me the $200 and call it a day, but this was not done. I am happy that future tenants can enjoy the perennials I planted and all the work I did to make the property nicer.I would not rent from this agency again in the future. Every time I spoke with them I felt that I was being talked down to or being spoken to in a condescending manner. Not the best experience and one that left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Awful experience! If you don’t want your deposit back work with this company, no matter how clean you give the house back you won’t get anything.
